The Chamber was dark and murky, Erebosmon sat looking into the mirror, he traced his hand across its obsidian flame, even though he sat in front of it, it did not reflect his image or that of anything else in the room, it was blank like nothing existed in front of it. That's when Karone entered the room, and stopped as she stood behind where Erebosmon was, he did not acknowledge at first continue he is attentive, whom he whispered something inaudible to. "Mirrors, were one of my sisters' favorite creations" he said not turning around.

"It's weird you would make something that represents your most hate people, you remember you are taking revenge on them by taking what they created and bringing it to ruin" Karone said, lowering her gaze.

"I will never forget what they did to me, I will never forget. Why are you here, and what do you want?" Erebosmon asked, finally turning to face Karone.

"I am here to give to give you a statue update, your chosen have made their move, and have engaged the digidestined, it's a matter of time till it's over for them, should we your harbingers be present?" Karone asked, continuing to look at the floor.

"No, you will let things play out, I must see if my chosen can handle things, without help, now you can leave. Disturb me no further until I summon you" Erebosmon said, waving an angry gesture of dismissal. He returned his attention to the mirror, as Karone left.

Digimon Sync 02 Episode 5 "Unraveled"

A girl stood at the edge of a field, in front of her was an amorphous blob of intelligible screaming, and yelling, every now and then the words get out or go away filth would be heard amongst it all, a streak of blood drew itself across the child's face, as she began to sob tears that rolled down her face, and mixed with the blood, drawing lines of red to her mouth. A shadow figure separated itself from the blob, and walked over to the girl, grabbed her by the hair, causing her to scream in pain, as she was now being dragged by it, until they reached what looked like a ditch, the shadow shoved the girl into it.

Sakura sat up in bed, and wiped the tears from her eyes, it had been awhile since she had that dream, why was it haunting her now. She ran her hand across the scar on the bridge of her, she took a deep breath and calmed herself. She pulled the tablet from under her pillow and began to read.

-Years ago-

Aru watched from the shadows, as people came and went, doing their daily chores, her parents forbid her from making contact, in case they found out, that the digimon partner she hadn't been hers, and she was a cursed one. Even with her sheltered life, she craved to reach out and get to know someone, make more friends, that wasn't a digimon. A real person that wasn't her parents. She had a digimon partner, even if she hadn't been born with it. She was going to venture into the village meet someone, screw her parents warning. She was old enough now to know what she was doing; she wasn't a child. She slipped from the alley, the sun hitting and reflecting off her pale, colorless skin, she smiled, and spun on her feet. She was nearly run over by a wagon, because she hadn't been paying attention.

"What is wrong with you little girl, " said a man, more exasperated than upset, she took a calming breath and took a good look at Aru. "You aren't from around these parts?"

"No, I am from the mansion, up on the hill?" Aru said, after calming herself down.

"You are their child, I thought you were only a myth, after the news of your birth, no one ever showed anyone a baby, oh sorry how rude of me, I haven't introduced myself I'm Celestine, and this is my sister Yorda" The man said, looking cheerful.

"Look, I told him before I work part time up at that mansion and you aren't a myth, nice to see you again Aru, you probably don't know me, because I mainly work at night cleaning your home" Yorda said, stepping into the front of the wagon. "Are your parents here?" She looked around trying to find them.

"No, I snuck down here, I wanted to see the village, being cooped up in a mansion no matter how big was driving me stir crazy" Aru said, a mischievous smile crossing her face.

"We would like to have you come over for dinner, hopefully that's not a problem" Yorda said, looking from Aru, to her brother.

"OK, fine, if she doesn't mind hanging around older people than her, and eating honestly grown food than she is welcome to join us for dinner" Celestine said, in a chuckling voice. "You digimon partner is welcome too"

Aru joined Yorda and Celestine, as they went into their home, she barely knew these people, but this was what she always wanted, she needed to be brave, and focus on this being a step in a future where she wasn't isolated in a mansion. She sat a small table with them, and smiled and they smiled back. A steaming pot across from them, a yummy smell of stew wafting through the air.

"That mansion of yours its such beauty, I sometimes look up there and wished it could be that rich" Celestine said, chuckling "But then I remember I like my life the way it is, me and my sister running store, hanging around my sister during the day then going home to my wife and children, but tonight my family is visiting relatives"

"It might be beautiful, but it's boring as heck, I would rather be anywhere else" Aru said, the smile leaving her face then returning. She was anxious talking about her home, like it was a predator threatening to drag her back to its confines.

Yorda served everyone the stew, even putting someone in plates on the floor, for their digimon partners, and Paomon, who ate happily.

Aru looked over, and saw familiar on a shelf, she reached over and pulled out a book, and looked at the cover, her face lit up, and she smiled "The Unravelling of Mr. Bandage" she exclaimed, cheerfully, opening the book. "My mother use to read this to me when I was very little"

"So did my mother" Yorda said, smiling as Aru flipped through the page of her favorite book. "It's also a cautionary tale, Mr. Bandage learned too late the power of friendship, and failed to make up for his mistakes"

"Weird, that's not how I remember it" Aru said, flipping to the end of the book, and reading it.

-Present day-

Sakura looked up from the pad, she thought she had heard a voice, she expected to see Enna again, but no one was there "Enna?" She called out, into the darkness of her surroundings "Arthur is that you?" There was no response to her calls, she waited, but nothing happened. It must have been her imagination. At that moment someone grabbed her by the ankle, and was dragged off, whatever had latched onto her it felt like gauze, like some sort of bandage you wrapped around sprained ankles. Moments later she was outside the pyramid, and being dragged into Arukeni Village, she now grabbed for stuff, until she wrapped her arms around a tree, she still had the tablet in her left hand. She need to find something to cut this thing that has tethered her ankle and dragged her off, she did not want to meet the person or thing that was trying to abduct her. Something suddenly hit and completely sliced through it, the thing that sliced it looked like a gardening trowel.

"Are You OK" Enna said, running over to Sakura, "I was coming to visit you when I saw you being dragged off"

"Never mind me, let's follow it, and see where it goes, maybe we can get to the bottom of what is happening to make people vanish" Sakura said, before chasing after the thing that had been dragging her off, she hadn't waited for the others response before doing so. Enna watched for a moment, confused at the situation, before making up her mind and following Sakura, she wasn't going let a friend go off by themselves, she just got this friend, losing a friend so quickly was unacceptable to her. They chased the mystery bandage as it snaked its way around trees, in the gloom of night it was hard to follow. But Sakura had plenty of tracking small animals in darker places, it was the way she and the other orphans survived because no one else cared enough to supply food for most of her life. It seemed to go on forever, through gloomy trees, and fog covered swamps, where the ground itself threatened to pull them in, and swallow them whole.

-Necropolis-

Nyxdramon stared out into the darkness, looking at once had been the green zone, the swarming hordes, of creatures that looked like congealed blood with faces. She spotted a statue that had once been a person, as she watched it cracked opened and another creature poured forth from it. Human being were so pathetic, and weak, she wondered why someone related to her father could have made such beeps on existence.

Aethermon took a seat beside Nyxdramon, and looked out too. "They look pathetic, but we can't underestimate them, look what happened to our brother Ikelosmon, he is now tethered to one of those humans" He said, not even turning to look at his sister. "What makes them look weak could be what makes them strong"

"It sounds like you might care for these meat sacks, and their play thing digimon" Nyxdramon said, examining her hand for some unknown reason, her wings flapping behind her. "They need to suffer for what they put us through the darkness will become their prison, and consume them"

"And yet we don't destroy the mirrors that holds back said darkness?" Aethermon said, a smirk crossing his expression.

"Father, has his reasons, it probably lets them suffer, as they watch the world crumble around them stuck in the only spheres that can sustain them" Nyxdramon said, smiling at the thought of humanity suffering. "They should suffer for every second, father was stuck in the Tartarus seal, he did not deserve to be there, he was only helping his sisters"

"Aren't they just innocent victims here, caught in our wrath again Lorrimon and Lilithmon, they did nothing to father, even to us?" Aethermon asked, giving his sister a curious look.

"To make Lorrimon and Lilithmon to suffer, by burning her creations to the ground, making humanity suffer is a byproduct of that, I don't really care for these creature, to feel anything about them but disgust" Nyxdramon said, while twiddling her thumbs, one of her feathers clutched between them.

"I feel nothing for them in general, I just like killing them, wish to do more. But Erebosmon forbid we interrupt his chosen, he called me back. He wants to see if they would accomplish killing those digidestined of sisters" Thanatosmon said, before just walking off, to leave the conversation to his siblings.

"Sometimes wonder if I am really related to that" Aethermon said, watching his brother leave.

"I am more like proud of being related to that, he is death to humanity, the more he kills the less of them there are, for me to look at" Nyxdramon said, also watching her brother leave.

Aethermon wondered to himself still, why so much hostility towards creatures that were pretty much beneath them, that we have to kill them to prove some kind of point, and what point was that, he had no idea. He now returned to staring out into the darkness, wondering the point of their existence as tools of vengeance.

"I love you too, even with the way you are, you are still family to me" Nyxdramon said, hugging Aethermon, and whispered into his ear "You know those digidestined won't give us any other choice in the matter, They are her creations and they will always be Lilithmon's protectors"

-Arukeni Village-

Juniko was still looking at the monument of Arukeni, when abruptly all sound, around them suddenly ceased, she around to the other to see if that was happening to them too. Everything around was completely frozen, Huang, Yorda, and Wilhelm stood there like they were statues. A voice called to Juniko, she followed it, she seemed to instinctively trust. Nothing felt real to her as she followed the voice like this was some sort of dream, she wondered if she was currently daydreaming. Footprints made imprinted them in the ground, as they voice she heard, got farther and farther away from her, she gave chase, but no matter how fast she ran, she could never catch up on the voice. She kept running after it even with how tired she was getting, after a while the voice stopped and she now stood in front of the transport mirror, in the mirror wasn't her own reflection, but that of Takajin, when she got close enough, he stepped out of the mirror, she hugged him and he kissed her, she closed her eyes when they embraced. When opened them, they were now surrounded by fire, with strange creatures in the sky.

In the distance a voice called her, causing her to flinch her eyes shut, when she opened them. She was now standing somewhere else, she was now dodging something that had been swung at her, she looked where it had come from, and saw it had been a weapon held by one of Ouroboros knights. She turned to see the rest of the digidestined were on the ground, black smoke poured from their eyes, she was in shock, they were all dead. She had been so distracted by that the Ouroboros knight swung his weapon, this time striking her along the midriff, she felt her body go numb, she tasted the smoke pouring out of her mouth, and her vision going black, she closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she was back in front of the Arukeni monument like nothing had actually happened, but it had felt so real like her worst nightmare had come to life.

"Anything wrong?" Huang asked, with a look of concern on his face, wondering why Juniko had gone so pale all of a sudden.

"I am fine" Juniko said, willing the color to go back into her face, whatever had just happened, she had to show a strong front, as leader, she needed to be a rock for the others, her personal feelings had to be buried. But she now felt something was watching her, she didn't know what was watching and where it was. She hadn't noticed that they were now surrounded by creatures covered in bandages. They snaked their way around them, in a serpentine pattern. They seemed to share one mind and purpose as they came towards them. Huang barely dodged the first one, and he kept backing up as more came at him, Juniko turned to see what the commotion was and came face to face with one of the bandaged things, and noticed there were a lot of them there, she dodged the grasp of the one she had come face to face with.

They growled wordlessly as they continued to pour forth, the human-like creatures wrapped in bandages, now flashed in the sky from an unseen stormed, that seemingly appeared out of nowhere with no clouds to be seen, they were now hopelessly outnumbered by these things.

Babydmon nodded at Huang, and jumped off his shoulder, Huang pulled out his digivice, and digi chip "Digi Synchronization, Hope chip activate," he shouted, then both him and his digimon partner were engulfed in spheres. When the spheres dissipated Coredramon stood beside Huang. Huang now wore a tunic with dragon wings emblazoned on it, and a protruded from his forehead. "Run, I'll make a path for you"

Coredramon lit up the ground with blue fire, causing creatures to get out of the way, Yorda, and Wilhelm didn't argue, they were the first to run, as they path was now open for them, Juniko hesitated, she pulled out her own digivice and chip, and when to put the digivolved, she put her chip in her digivice, but it shot violently out, she picked up her chip, and tried again, but the same thing happened, she tried once more to put it, but this time the digivice didn't accept it at all. Her mind was now racing trying to figure out what was going on, why her digivice was acting up when she needed it the most.

"Run before the opening closes" Huang screamed, at Juniko, as Coredramon fight off the bandage creatures, while simultaneously keeping the path opening, and getting less effective every time, like the creatures were starting to figure out what was going on.

Juniko finally ran for it, but kept Huang in her peripheral, as the bandage creatures surrounded him and Coredramon, the last thing she saw before the gapped behind her, was one of the creatures tackling Huang. All she saw now were the creatures, some were now making their way toward her, she now ran in the direction Yorda and Wilhelm had gone. They ran into Yorda's house, and shut the door behind them, the creatures pounded on the door, their bandages snaked underneath it, trying to wrap around anything that was close to it, Juniko had to jump away from the door. Wilhelm quickly nailed the bottom of the door so nothing could reach under it.

Hours went by the creatures, continued to pound at now were reinforced doors, each of them, went around and started boarding up windows, and reinforcing the front by piling furniture in front of it. Even with this the pounding continued, the bandaged creatures show no sign of giving up on getting them. Even when the house was fully secure the noise of the pounding and growling was still nerve wracking from things that who knows what they wanted to do to them one they got in. The problem was they couldn't stay in there forever food and water would eventually run out.

"This is all my fault" Yorda said, tears flowing from her eyes, "I didn't tell you the complete truth last time you digidestined were here"

"Now is the best time, to let it all out" Wilhelm said, placing his hands on Yorda's shoulder. She nodded and began her story.

"I wasn't always alone, my brother, and I use to run the store together, till one day she showed up at my house, my brother had nearly had run over her, and he invited the one you knew as Arukeni back for dinner" Yorda said, fighting back tears with every word. "But I already knew she was without a digimon partner, a secret her parents had sworn just a handful of servants to keep, but I was the only one who didn't live in the castle," she took a deep breath before continuing, "I didn't know my brother was still in earshot when I confronted Aru about how dangerous it was for her to leave her castle, and if anyone found out what she was they would try to kill her. My brother Celestine overheard this conversation and was so angry that I hid something from him, he chased Aru into the streets declaring to everyone what she was. Aru managed to escape, my brother was the one who set the fire that killed Aru's mother. I should have told Aru this stuff as I took her home, my brother died a year later from Digi pox, never to answer for his crimes, but I live with it every day"

"It wasn't your fault, you didn't know what would happen, it was your brother who did it not you" Juniko said, hugging Yorda, and placing the old woman's face into her shoulder, so she could cry "Just let it out"

"If this is Arukeni, That's doing all this, then she'll be after me, I deserve her wrath!" Yorda said, as she soaked Juniko's tunic with her tears.

"I don't think it's her, she had forgiven you all for what you did, even though I personally don't understand why, she had to be some kind of saint dealing with the pain of losing her family, being left alone in a mansion. After what happened, she still watched out for you from the shadows. She saved you from a twisted friend, and sacrificed herself stopping lava from enveloping your village, she didn't use the walking bandaged last time" Wilhelm said, looking Yorda in the eyes, "I read about the whole thing when I visited the archive, when dropping off supplies to Virgil, Arukeni, did not sound like a person with revenge on her mind"

"Even as a ghost, you think she would not seek revenge on us for what was done" Yorda asked, as she tried to stop crying.

"I think she would watch out for you all, and would be more of a guardian to your village" Wilhelm Answering Yorda, smiling as he did so. "You knew her as a child, what do you think?"

"I think you might be right" Yorda said, as she returned the smile, with one of her own, she wiped the tears from her eyes.

-Elsewhere-

Huang woke, tried to get up, but he couldn't move, something was wrapped around his arms and legs, he tried wiggling free, but whatever bound him tightened, it almost made it hard for him to breath. He opened his eyes, but something was covering them too "Let me go," he shouted, with no response, he suddenly heard a mumbling noise, which was obvious from the sound of it was his digimon partner Babydmon, who probably dedigivolved when he was rendered unconscious. "Let Us Go" once again, he shouted, with no response. He tried again to wiggle free, this time his arms, and legs, it was no use the stuff he was bound with must have been made from some unbreakable material, and he was just tiring himself out trying to break free from it. That's when he heard a voice, which sounded very familiar. That was when he was lifted easily like a bag of cotton, this lasted for several minutes, until it stopped and he hovered in place for another several minutes. He counted the minutes in his mind, trying to keep himself relaxed.

Then the stuff that bound his face, unraveled, and he was now face to face with the monument statue, its blank face gleamed in the moonlight, night had fallen when he had been out cold. The face on the statue now morphed and twisted into a face of pure hatred and anger, it grabbed Huang by the throat, and bandages that wrapped around Huang glowed, causing him to scream out, as they re-wrapped around his face.
