As she stood there petrified, Juniko was staring into the lifeless eyes of the shadow figure who had just appeared, who or what was this thing standing there and sickly smiling at her, before it leaped at her, she sat upright in bed, it took s few minutes before she realized she was in a bed, beside the bed was Enna Kamiya, who appeared to be snoring away on the floor peacefully.
That's when Rayla entered the room and looked relieved at seeing Juniko awake "You seem ok now after you passed after whatever that thing appeared appeared, and vanished"
"I," Juniko said, looking down at her shaking hands.
"Was it Possibly Erebosmon, he was a great old one like yourself, you might have connected with him by mistake" Rayla said, handing Juniko a glass of ice water. "I will understand if you can't participate in the ceremony now, after going through what happened"
"No I am doing it, just help me get ready," Juniko said, after steeling her resolve, and looking Rayla right in the eyes letting her know she wasn't backing down. "a DigiDestined always stands by their word" She smiled when she noticed Ray was now smiling with relief.
"If you are feeling up to it, come with me, I have something for you to see," Rayla said taking Juniko and gently pulled out of bed, tossing her some clothing to change into, moments later she was dressed and being dragged down hallways, till they got to a locked door, with a guard sitting beside, he quickly and unlocked the door, and ushered them through it, they kept going and going down what seemed like an unending hallway of twists and turns, which brought back unwelcome mental images of inside the infinite citadel to Juniko, when they were going to rescue Tajiri Kamiya, they finally reached a very fortified cell, inside was a boy, about her age, he looked like he had been through the wringer, he was chained to the floor, his mop of black hair looked like it hadn't seen shampoo in years.
"This is Temujin Xahn, aka Hostile 1.7, who you said smashed the mirror in Arukeni village, security caught him near the Lilithmon's travel mirror holding a hammer," Rayla said gesturing to the boy in the cell, on hearing his name Temujin perked up with a sadistic smile.
Digimon Sync 02 episode 11 "Monster Behind Blue Eyes"
Juniko stared at the boy, trying to fathom, if this was the person they had fought in Arukeni Village, and not everyone had escaped the destruction, making him also a mass murderer. "You are the dark DigiDestined of chaos?" she said, still trying to comprehend what was in front of her. "If I wasn't a DigiDestined, I would take you back to the achieve, trussed like a turkey, and have all the people you made into refugees beat your sorry ass raw, but that would be wrong, making me no better than you"
"But I am a DigiDestined too, and look what I have done," Temujin said doing a mock bow to Juniko.
It all clicked into place, hearing that voice, undistorted by the mask, he had been wearing, the one with the wicked grin, Juniko knew for sure this boy was Temujin, and he one hundred percent believed he was a DigiDestined, and it wasn't a title he gave himself out of ego. "If you are a DigiDestined where is your Digimon partner?" she said, looking around the cell for a Digimon that's chained like he is currently.
"He could be anywhere, he's a free spirit you know," Temujin said, licking his lips like he had eaten his Digimon, which gave them both the creeps.
"Do you know what kind of Digimon his partner is?" Rayla turned and asked Juniko, who shook her head no in response.
"He seemed to not have a partner, when we saw him at that village, what it may be is a complete mystery," Juniko said, before going into a thinking pose, before turning around to face Temujin again "Why are you destroying Lilithmon's mirrors"
: because Erebosmon told me to, that is all" Temujin said, licking his lips once, but craning his head like someone was talking to him from inside his cell.
"You know how many people you have killed, and will kill if you continue this path," Juniko said, cringing at the thought of a world just filled with Sentinels.
"Everybody dies eventually, but in a way nothing dies, life is just a dream flowing into another dream, human or sentinel what's the big difference, they are still alive, I freed them from death," Temujin said, before bowing again, and trying to clap but clinking his chains.
"If Erebosmon sent you, than why did he also send one of his children to warn us of your arrival, you are most definitely lying, who really sent you?" Rayla interjected, glaring at Temujin.
"I dont lie, I hear Erebosmon's commands as clear as day or night, he wants to turn all Lilithmon's creations into beings of Chaos," Temujin said, as he started bashing himself in the face with his chain till a line of blood trickled down his cheek like he was crying blood. "You know Your lover is dead, and he's among them now" This last statement sucked the air seemingly out of the vicinity.
Juniko's eyes glowed a bright crimson, as she easily reached through the bars grabbed Temujin by the collar of his tunic, and slammed the boy face hard into the bar, blood was now trickling from his mouth from the tooth she had probably broken by what she did, he yawned ignoring it, when he opened his mouth again a piece of tooth fell out and clinked on the floor. "If you dont believe me how did I get these, show her what what they took from me"
Rayla was silent for a few moments, before pulling out a pair of goggles, which had dried blood encrusted on it, and its lenses were cracked,Juniko took them and started rotating them with her hands as she looked at them in great detail, hoping they were fake, but her eyes welled up with tears that they were the real, a million questions including the repetition of is this Takajin's blood and was he really dead. She turned her attention from Rayla back to Temujin, her eyes flashed red again, showing her anger was a overflowing and interacting with her residual great old one power from Lilithmon."If you did anything to Takajin, I'll make you scream for an eternity, You better be lying about this" she said throwing the goggles down the hallway. "Where did you find that" she shouted before she realized what she had just done, and to get the goggle, but someone had already picked them up, it was Enna Kamiya.
"you know he's alive, you would have felt it if something did happen" Enna said, hugging Juniko tightly, and let the goggle slide from her into Juniko's palm, right as Sorami Kamiya walked up behind, the former DigiDestined of friendship had been looking her adopted little sister, then she looks up from her, attention now drawn to Temujin, her expression doing a 180, from comforting to anger and distain "How dare you make the great old of life cry"
"Arent tears a part of life, everyone cries" Temujin said, running his finger across the blood streak on his face then licking it off that finger. "I know I shed enough myself thanks to Celestine and Paradigm shift aka Donica Skies and the Guardians, who lead them again, Abaddon I mean Tajiri Kamiya, weren't you one of them, Sorami, so what was your colourful codename, wasn't it Astrape, wasn't it Sorami No wonder you quit being a Digidestined as a chip bearer you were a poor representation of friendsh...?" he was suddenly cut off by a hand reaching into the cell grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and pulling him face first into the bars
"Keep my grand sister's name out of your mouth, she was a great DigiDestined from what I have been told, she had her reasons for quitting, she doesnt have to explain it to anyone" Enna said, going to smash Temujin face into the bars again, but was stopped by Sorami.
"That was never a codename, it was a nickname my father gave me, maybe he was grooming me for Paradigm Shift but membership wouldn't have lasted long when I found out what they were doing it was going against everything i was taught the guardians stood for" Sorami said, before turning to face Temujin, who was in the process of spitting out a tooth, which he caught with his left hand.
"Please sir, I want, some more!" Temujin said, a demented expression crossing his face, looking mentally unhinged, as he presented his knocked out tooth on his flat palm to Enna, before returning his attention to Juniko "I thought the reincarnation of the worlds mother would have been more impressive, having nearly restarted the world twice, glad I meet you, before vanish as well and join the missing"
"What, did you mean by that?" Juniko asked, puzzle together what he just said, and drawing blanks, then it just dawned on her that probably meant Takajin, Hikaru and Mikuni, who are presently, but he already mentioned Takajin as dead, so he had been lying, there was something wrong with him mentally, it was probably a result of the experiment he had just told them about, hes probably like that boy they had to deal, its face draped with in Primary village.
"Enough of this exposition dumping, these shackles are beginning to chafe, this has stopped being fun minutes ago, I am bored now, Phobosmon come out and play!" Temujin said, and a small grim reaper looking digimon seeming stepped out of nowhere, "Digi synchronization, Chaos chip activate" the digimon was holding Temujin's digivice and chop, it inserted the chip and Temujin and the digimon were ingulfed in a spheres, when the spheres dissipated Temujin was free, the grim reaper digmon looked now like an giant skeletal Owl,its face was a feathered flesh mask hanging precariously over its skull, bone still visible around the eyes, it seemed to melt forming a shadow that extended passed the bars, Temujin sank into this shadow leaving the shackles behind, and came out of it on the other side of the bars, where he was rejoined by his digimon who emerged from the shadow too. And they receded as he did.
The skeletal owl head spun in a circle till it suddenly stopped, and started sniffing the air "Digidestined" he growled "Can I kill them now, oh please let me kill them"
"Phobetormon, you can kill everyone except Juniko, but we need to destroy the mirror first" Temujin said rubbing the temples of his forehead.
Sorami instinctively went into her pocket, digging for her digivice and chip, even though she wasn't a Digidestined anymore, even if she still was one, her Impmon was all the way back at the archive, probably bored out of her mind, and Enna's Spadamon was sadly tending the garden around the crater, around where the infinite citadel use to be, she cursed and stepped between Enna and , she cursed and stepped between Enna and Temujin, but Juniko stepped in-between Sorami and Temujin at the same time, but her digimon partner was there too, but without a chip, more natural digivolution were years away.
"This is all your fault look at me, You ruined my life, I was doing my father's bidding, you gave your wretched abominations powers and sent them after me in the Green Zone, now I am partner with this mentally questionable creature as punishment, I wish I could just kill you, but I have to do everything this meat bag tells me to do, I was the Mighty terror that flaps in the night, Ikelosmon, I was the shadow in the moonlit night, filling dreams to the brim with fright" said Phobetormon, before giving a sigh of nostalgia, he was giving off waves of eerie darkness, making everyone around him an urge to get away, except Temujin who seemed unphased,
"Excuse me Sir! Sir! SIR! Sir Phobetormon" said Enna seemingly, trying to get Phobatormon's attention, he turned with annoyed curiosity towards her " You are still filling me up with the brim with fright, So I think you still got it" this caused him to blink rapidly before a smiled crossed his face.
"You are just saying that so I dont kill you?" Phobetormon said, taking measure of Enna, like he was just seeing her for the first time ever
"No I am filled to the brim frightened and wish I was any place but here, but I have to protect my grand sister, and my Great old one" Enna said, as she tried to step around both Sorami and Juniko to be between them and Temujin, and Phobatormon, but was held back by Huang, who she didn't see arriving, Babydimon sleeping on his shoulder like usual.
"I like you. I usually despise all humans, so you might live through this if I dont change my mind, which I am likely to do" Probetormon said, as crooked his head to his right shoulder, and licking his beak, like he was looking at prey.
"Huang get them out of here" Juniko said, referring to Rayla, Sorami and Enna, pushing her towards her sister, and watching Huang drag them down the hallway despite Enna's protests, and trying to get away from him."Now they are safely away, Digi synchronization, Purity chip activate" she was getting ready to slot her chip into her digivice, but stopped when she noticed Temujin making his way nonchalantly towards her, his digimon staying where he was, looking angrily at Temujin got closer, his eyes went from normal to black with white pupils, then the black started leaking from them till his face covered with it, the world started glitching as the chaos shroud formed on his face, one eye and a sick deranged smile.
"Letting them run only delays the inevitable, when the mirrors get full, and cant absorb any more chaotic darkness, then they will join the horde of Sentinels, It'll be your fault having never found a new wieldier for the light virtue" Temujin said, in between laughing insanely, before crossing his arms over his chest, and dropping backwards into a huge puddle that had been Phobetormon, the puddle turned into a shadow again that receded into the floor till it was gone, even though Temujin's laughter still echoed giving Juniko the creeps.
"oh crap" Juniko said, once she wasn't focused, she ran down the hall to head towards the Mirror to stop Temujin from destroying it.
-Elsewhere moments earlier-
Huang, Layla, Sorami and Enna, were still running down the hallway away from the cell area, when Enna pulled away, causing to do the same, coming to a complete halt, as the rest continued going without them.
"I saw you went for your chip, which I know you dont have anymore since you told everyone you relinquished it, but you never told me why you did that, when those things were created, I would have given anything to weild one, to be useful to my great old ones, but I wasn't chosen, but you were and you gave it up" Enna said, looking over Sorami, like she was measuring her expression, waiting to see her reaction to the question.
Sorami instead turned away, her gaze going to the floor "The Chip stopped meaning the same, I was a DigiDestined, and had to help kill my father, I know he had crossed the line, using those fake chips, but I loved him still, look what I help do to him, I wish I could have saved him" she said, punching the wall as fresh tears threatened to burst from her eyes, as the dam in her ducts was going to break from the over flow of pent up emotions. "I am a Traitor to my family!"
"You've done so much, from the tales I have been told, in the end, If I am the only Kamiya You've been part of saving, there's one thing I have been dying to say" Enna said, while turning Sorami around. who's eyes widened waiting for what her sister was about to say, instead the smaller girl winds up and punches in her in the shoulder.
"OUCH...WHAT the hell was that for?" Sorami said, with a confused whine, rubbing the area she had just been punched in.
"You are not a traitor, you are my beloved gran sister, since the day you adopted me as your great sister, and I love you more than anything, and no matter what you have done or will ever do, I'll always forgive, even though I think giving up the chip was beyond stupid..." Enna said, before catching sight of something, she and Sorami followed it.
Mirror Garden-
This garden was the most beautiful place in the veil of Lilithia, Juniko had come here daily since she had become princess of this kingdom, even though it was a title in name only, she hadn't been born into royalty, she still found it weird how the people still react to her as such, being the reincarnation of the life bringer Great old one. The whole was only purple flowers of varies species, she always wanted to pick some of these for her room, even though they wouldn't protest her doing so, but he resisted to do so to not wreck the vista of plumage, im the center of this was the master travel mirror, the thing that was protecting the whole kingdom from Erebosmon's chaotic darkness, she had the constant mental image of what happened when she watched another mirror was destroyed, she was going to stop Temujin at all cost from doing that again, she had told the royal guard while she was on her way here, they should be arriving soon, with the other DigiDestined. Despite Temujin having a similar name, they were no near being the same person, Takajin's digimon is Sunmon, which digivolves into Apollomon, she was deep in thought when her Digmon partner Kunoimon arrived, she had went ahead of her, and gave the all clear gesture
"Where is he, why didn't he come" Juniko said, out loud, as she advanced towards the mirror, confused at what was going on.
"I was waiting for you, what took you so long?" the voice of Temujin echoed from all around. Causing Kunoimon to hiss, and growl after hearing the voice, arching her back and tail hammering the ground visibly agitated.
Standing in between Juniko,Kunoimon, and the very ornate travel mirror was Temujin materializing from the ground before Phobetormon appeared too "This is the very first travel mirror created, its such a shame I'll have to destroy it" he said, as Probetormon tossed him his scythe, which he swiftly caught, and turned to face the mirror, he manically laughed, like his brain had blown up at that exact moment, he ran towards it, with Juniko shouting to stop, that's when something landed on the mirror, with massive black raven wings, it was Nyxdaemon, and she wasn't happy, her exposed body parts were scaled with feathers, that receded, revealing pale ash white skin, blue attire, a pants suit with no back on its shirt, making her look like the personal assistant from hell, that matched her shoulder length hair, she looked at least 16 years of age, really attractive young lady with raven wings, who hasn't been in the sun in years.
"You were told to not destroy mirrors they are important to Erebosmon plans for revenge on his sister, you are not listening to him, you would think killing that pink haired girl, and the torture he put you through those lessons would have stuck, but here you are doing exactly what you were repeatedly told to stop doing" Nyxdaemon said, as she slip off the mirror and hovered to the ground wings out spread, and a gothic Halberd appearing in her hands "You are coming with me so father can teach you this lesson over and over again, or maybe just write directly into your flesh" her gaze turned to Phobatormon, she gritted her teeth and foamed at the mouth "why are you enabling this creatures madness, this isn't exactly what father paired you with him to do. He wanted you to listen to him but keep him in line, you are only doing the first half"
"I knew I forgot something, he is crazy but I feel his madness are warping my mind too, the longer I am around him I feel my memory waning about some things, sorry my sister, maybe you should help me by killing this flesh bag?" Phobatormon said, doing a throat slit gesture.
Nyxdaemon looked like she was tempted for a moment, but then let out a long sigh of annoyance "Hes your punishment till you prove you can get things done, but this isn't going to prove that, get the meat bag in line or suffer like him in his lessons again" she said, as she started making her way towards them, but he movement was halted and she was pulled backwards protesting as she was tossed into the chaotic darkness, as Kazemon and Kitsumon appeared, and hugged Juniko, as a smile crossed Temujin and Phobatormon's face, using tghe confusion to progress their way towards the mirror, raising his scythe while doing so, he smashes the mirror and watches its shards rain to the ground, he waits for the darkness to enclose him, but nothing happens, then the broken mirror turns into smoke, and he had been no where near the mirror, it being several more feet away, and Kitsumon was standing there, shit eating smirk on her face, which left her face when she had to dodge an incoming Phobetormon, swinging his Scythe down upon her, which lightly got her on the shoulder, she stopped and started screaming, being pulled to safety by Kazemon, looking at her like what is going on.
"any cut from my scythe causes horrific nightmares, that's for interfering in my quest to watch this world burn, like my father actually wants" Phobetormon said, through gritted teeth, visible behind him in the chaotic darkness was Nyxdaemon trying to get back in. "Hurry up Temujin, destroy this mirror , before either my sister manages to get back in or the rest of the DigiDestined arrive to stop you"
Kazemon put Kitsumon somewhere, kissed her on the cheek "I'll get him for this my daarin" she said before flying fast to be in between Temujin and the mirror, dodging the scythe in the process, but was bodied Phobetormon into the mirror, which cracked slightly.
"Get out of Temujin's way you harpy wench" Phobetormon snarled as he said, clinching both talons into fists before throwing through the bearer hitting Nyxdaemon on the way out. "Temujin Do it now, Sister will be able to return now that both hybrids aren't in here at the same time, sorry I wasn't thinking I was so angry"
"You Bastards, Why are you torturing me like this why?" Temujin said as the Chaos shroud covered his face again, this time no eye just the teeth that took up almost all of his face, sick grim, and drooling, showing how mentally unhinged he truly was on the inside, he raised the scythe, he squeezed tightly and went to swing it like a baseball bat
"Please don't these people have done nothing to you, they didn't make you into this..monster!" Juniko said, trying to digivolve Kunoimon into her next form, which should have been Bastemon but something was preventing her and didn't know what was going on.
"Stay out of this, mother of lies, aunt of betrayal, My father was just trying to help make up your bloody minds on what life to create, you imprisoned him for millions of years, then during that time lied to the world how long he was imprisoned for, he helped create this world, his absence put it off balance, now he wants it all to end, and you and your sister to watch it burn," Phobetormon said, every word dripping with detestation and malice.
Juniko looked over to check on Kitsumon and take care of her injury, Daloran Taiga had arrived and was doing that already, never saw her arrival but wasn't complaining about it either "I have a question why wasn't Phobetormon ejected like Nyxdaemon was when Kitsumon and Kazemon arrived?"
"It's Simple Phobetormon is tethered to a human partner, if you were fully Lilithmon, you could probably see and cut this tether, the chain of digivolution, made from prodigm," Daloran Taiga said, wiping blood leaking out from Kitsumon's shoulder, before she applied pressure on the wound with a fresh bandage, causing her to winch.
"I wish I could but I just don't know how" Juniko said, before rushing off to do her best to defend the mirror, when she noticed Temujin was going to attempt to destroy it again, but she heard a scream, she turned tio face it, but all she saw was a bright light, which hurt her eyes to look into, she tried to make out the shape of the light that was blinding her, she spotted a giant sword or a Digimon shaped like one, that flew towards Temujin and Phobetormon, knocking them flying towards the mirror, it opened when they hit it, taking them both who knows where. And shut the moment they were through, the sword flew into the sky and vanished, when her vision cleared she looked where the screaming had came from and no one was there, just the incoming Huang, Vergil, Sakura, and Leoben.
Juniko went to Vergil "Did you see anyone, or anything on your way in" she asked, hoping the light wasn't too bright at the distance he was at when he arrived.
"I saw the symbol of one of the virtues, but was too far to make out which one, its outline was similar to that of the chip of Kindness, or Courage, they have very close silhouettes, so I might be mistaken though," Vergil said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"If it was with Hikaru or Mikuni, why didn't they stick around after they intervened, we are so worried about them why not alleviate our fears, seeing Hikaru would somewhat confirm somewhat that Takajin is alive, they were together when they went missing," Juniko said, trying not to break down from thinking of her fiancé, who has been missing since Erebosmon's attack on the oasis
Rayla arrived seemingly out of nowhere, grabbing Juniko by the wrist, and dragged her off like she was going to discipline a child "We do not have time to celebrate, this victory, we have to train fast" she said as Juniko tried to get away from the master weaver, she pulled halfway across the Veil before finally letting her go but gestured for her to keep pace with her, till they reach the location that weird thing appeared, that might have been Erebosmon, it felt familiar.
-an hour later-
"You managed to unlearn how you did it last time, Child, I am exasperated with you, focus and forget what happened last time, just do it," Rayla said, in an annoyed huff like talking to to petulant child refusing to eat their vegetables
-Another hour later=
Juniko fell to her knees, she had felt the weaving but couldn't use it, in the slightest.
Rayla's head raised so her nasal passages were visible, and they were flaring a lot "WE have a limited to get you to novice, so we can build a new temple for the glory Lilithmon, you act like time is unlimited, you aren't the great Kamuy of life yet, so get your small ass in gear, Child!"
-Even more hours later-
"Child, I am losing my patience, You are letting your missing love one hinder you, even though that relationship shouldn't be, he's a human and you will be a god that will outlive him" Rayla said ignoring the hateful expression Juniko was giving her, like how dare you tell me how to live my life, but kept it to herself because part of her knew it was a likely possibility that she would have to end her relationship with Takajin when she became fully Lilithmon.
-Even More hours upon hours later-
Juniko was breathing heavily, as she held a glass of water, trying to drink it without pouring it onto herself instead, Rayla walked up to her, and placed her hands on her shoulders, and steadied her so she could drink "its time" she said after finishing the water, Rayla nodded in response. The arena opened revealing the open skyline
"This use to be a beautiful view of the Tower of Nazar but it's gone, we are here to replace it with the Juniko Spire, which will be the most beautiful structure ever created in honor of you the Princess of Life, I stake my reputation on this, so don't disappoint me, Child, You are more entuned than I'll ever be in my lifetime, even as you are now" this caused Juniko to heavily blush, she knew she wasn't, as entuned as Rayla was implying, she would still try her best to not disappoint the master weaver. That's when she noticed that all the seats in the arena were filled with everyone in Lilithia, she couldn't make out all but the front row visible to her was Huang, Enna, Leoben, Vergil, and her parents who came all the way from Digitopia. There was a tightening in her chest making it hard for her to breathe
In the rafters, a girl in a cloak watched, she held a strange device in her hand with a distorted symbol on it, "That was a close one I almost had to interfere" she said sounding almost disappointed but relieved, before vanishing into the shadow.
"Let s give the world Hope again that life springs eternal, that chaos can never steal our hearts" Rayla said, right before "Now do what I taught you to do" then she began to dance, and Juniko doing the same thing, where ever they glyphs in the air with with every breath they took, which pulse in sync with their hearts, among the symbols were ones from each of the chips, and a lot of symbols that were unrecognizable, all started to rotate like a mini galaxies in a macro universe, all surrounding Rayla and Juniko, who began to glow themself like a digivolution without the spheres, and the digimon partners, everyone watched in shock and awe at the miracle they were beholding, something started forming in middle of it all, a thing that look toy sized building like someone had as a kid, but quickly go bigger and bigger till it nearly filled the entire area, it rose into the air, and hovered over ro where the tower of Nazar had been, it landed softly not disturbing the gardens that surrounded the area, it glowed so bright it was almost blinding for a few seconds before it settle. Everyone clapped excitedly but awestruck at the whole thing that had happened before them.
"Let's go see your temple," Enna said having just joining them on the stage, she grabbed both Juniko and Rayla by the hands and dragged them off.
-The Archive-
The archive was pretty much empty since most of the visible occupancies were in town for the weaving ceremony, but the travel mirror inside it was acting weird and suddenly opened, The first one to arrive was an elderly-looking man in a sage poncho, followed by a boy and two girls dressed strange robe that bore the symbol of Lorrimon, and then two figures cloaked in shadow. Who were waiting for them, one appearing out of thin air, started to approuch the mystery newcomers
One of the girls pulled back her hood, revealing Cinder Ashen red colored hair, and grass-green eyes "The Lorrigan have arrived, and we have found you Lilithmon" she said as he Digimon partner in what appeared to be a lightning bolt "Hell is empty and All the devils are here," she spread her arms as she spoke.
