Note: Takes place in the universe of "The Baby Twily and Mommy Celestia Chronicles" after the events of Flutterbat's chapter.

"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!" Button Mash cheered and hollered at the top of his lungs whilst bouncing up and down with joy! "Today's the day! It is the day, right, Mom? Right?"

Cream Heart nodded as she moved to tamp down her son's enthusiasm. "Yes, Button, today's the day I've been waiting for for months. The day your sister gets potty trained."

"Cool! Then that means she won't need diapers anymore, and you can throw them all away!" Button happily exclaimed! "And once she's potty trained, I'll be able to take her out to play with my friends without worrying about them making fun of her."

Cream Heart giggled. "Now now, you know as well as I do Button that potty training is a process. And Celestia knows your training wasn't entirely smooth sailing."

"Mom!" Button whined.

Cream Heart smiled, patting her son playfully on the forehead. "I'm just trying to temper your enthusiasm. After all, I'll need your help if we're going to get Flutterbat to learn. You know how hard I struggled with getting her to stay in diapers."

"Uh-huh, I remember. She kept trying to rip them off and go fly around outside," The propeller hat wearing colt replied. "She kept treating the whole thing like it was a game. But it wasn't a very fun game."

The earth pony mare just replied. "Well, let's just hope that we won't have to play that game again once we teach her to give up her diapers. Now come on, it's time to get the training underway. Follow me, Button."

The two earth ponies then strolled into the extra bedroom that Cream Heart had converted into a nursery. It had been most fortunate that she hadn't tossed out all the foal supplies she'd used from when Button was just a foal. They'd proven to be very useful when she was entrusted with the care of a baby batpony named Flutterbat.

Flutterbat, for her part, had only reluctantly settled into her new lot in life that was more or less a "punishment" for her. At least she got to keep her own body though.

"Good morning, my little batpony," Cream Heart called out in a cooing tone of voice as she trotted into the nursery with her son by her side. "Are you ready for your big surprise?"

Flutterbat hissed and stuck out her tongue. "Not really, but you're gonna do it whether I want to or not, aren't you?"

Cream Heart flashed a knowing smile as she bent down into the little basket that served as Flutterbat's bed and scooped her up. "Exactly," She first carefully inspected the padding on the batpony, making sure that it wasn't already used. It wasn't, it was still pristine, and still held tightly in place by those near indestructible safetypins. "Good, your diaper's nice and clean, just like I hoped it would be. Which means now's the perfect time to take you to the bathroom." And she carried the batpony out of the nursery as her son followed close behind.

Upon entering the bathroom, Cream Heart carefully set Flutterbat on the bathroom's tiled floor and then stripped of her diaper with the greatest of ease. "Alright, my little pony," She cooed once again. "It's time for your surprise. Close your eyes, please."

Flutterbat reluctantly did so as Button Mash just stood there with the silliest grin plastered all over his face. It seemed like he was about to burst with excitement!

Seconds later, Cream Heart instructed. "You can open your eyes now, Flutterbat."

Slowly opening her eyes as instructed, Flutterbat was more than a little confused to see a brightly colored plastic bowl that showed a few signs of not having been used in a long time. It had a small little rim around it, and something appeared to be written on the side, though the lettering was faded and worn. It also seemed to have a faint odor to it, sort of like her diapers after they'd been used.

"It's your new potty chair!" Cream Heart happily proclaimed to Flutterbat! "From now on, you can use it instead of your diapers whenever you have to go potty! Think of all the freedom you'll have once you won't have to wear diapers anymore."

Button Mash, for his part, just stood there with a goofy grin on his face. "That actually used to be my potty chair, Flutterbat. But I don't need it anymore. I outgrew it long ago. Now I'm old enough to use the big pony potty. And let me tell you, it's so much cooler!"

At that Cream shot her son a skeptical look as she somewhat playfully replied. "Oh really? I seem to recall you thinking differently when I tried to potty train you with it. You kept screaming and crying that it was a monster that was going to eat you. And even when you outgrew that, the first time you tried to use it by yourself, I seem to recall having to fish you out of the bowl."

"MOM!" Button whined at the top of his lungs as his cheeks turned a bright shade of pink.

"Well, that's all the more reason why I'm going to make sure I do it the proper way this time," Cream Heart instructed as she moved to sit Flutterbat upon the toddler potty. "We'll start your training with this, Flutterbat. And we'll work our way up to the big pony potty when I feel you're ready for it. So get comfortable. We're going to start having you sit on it every day, regardless of whether you do anything in it or not."

"I don't see why I have to use it. What's wrong with just going potty outside? Why don't you ponies think that's appropriate anymore, even though it helps the soil?" Flutterbat questioned as she sat there in all her bare bottomed glory.

"Well, think about it," Cream pointed out. "If ponies just went to the bathroom wherever and whenever they wanted to, think of how bad places would smell and how much of a mess there'd be to clean up. This way, ponies' waste goes to a safe place, and ponies don't have to worry so much about the clean up or the smell."

Flutterbat just sighed and crossed her legs. It didn't really make sense to her, but there was little she could do to fight back or protest against it. So she sat there and waited. At first, it didn't feel like anything was going to happen. But all of a sudden, her floodgates opened, and before she knew it, she felt empty.

"Well done, Flutterbat," Button Mash cooed and clapped his hooves. "You went potty!"

"And on your first try, too!" Cream Heart added. "That doesn't happen often. Now, stand up so I can wipe you clean."

The little batpony reluctantly obeyed even though the wet wipes were cold to the touch. She was glad when the wiping job was done and her diaper was pulled back up, as the used wipes were tossed into the trash.

After noticing Flutterbat was watching the training potty being emptied into the toilet, Button Mash came up to her. "I bet you're wondering why the big pony potty is really cool, right?" He asked and received an eager nod in reply.

Cream Heart was quick to figure out what her son wanted to do. After setting the training potty back down, she suggested to the batpony. "Why don't you fly on up here so you can see what the big potty can do?"

"Okay." Flutterbat obeyed, slowly flying up until she was just over the toilet, looking down into the bowl below.

Once the signal was given, the younger earth pony put a hoof on the bright silver handle. "Three… two… one!" He countdown before pushing the handle down.

After hearing a loud roar, Flutterbat noticed that the water in the bowl was now spinning around. It started out slow, but it went faster and faster. She watched in amazement as everything was sucked down through a hole at the bottom of the bowl. Then the water swirls down the drain and disappeared. It came back moments later, but now, it was crystal clear. "Oh my," She commented. "That was cool, but also kinda scary."

"What you three just saw was a flush," Button Mash explained. "It's how the big potty empties itself out. All you got to do is pull the handle, and… well, you saw what happened."
