Goodbye to Ultra
Somewhere in Ninjago sometime after the Overlord's defeat during the Final Battle, Melissa and Lloyd were riding on Ultra above the clouds of Ninjago Skies as Ultra dived down a bit, making the Ninjas of Yin and Yang to scream in startled and flying by some birds as Ultra flew back up with a spin in the air as Lloyd and Melissa chuckled.
"Easy there, Ultra. You're making us all dizzy." Lloyd said with a chuckle.
"But I'm not complaining." Melissa said with a smile before the two Ninjas cheered while Ultra did a few tricks in the sky, but then the four-headed dragon came to a stop with a roar. "Whoa! Ultra, what's wrong?" She asked.
"Sensing something? Something's wrong?" Lloyd asked as Flame's head breathed out some fire. "Fire? Where?!"
"Go, Ultra! Lead the way!" Melissa encouraged as the Ultra Dragon flew at top speed.
At a small village, it was in flames as the people were screaming while some Venomari snakes, some that weren't with the Serpentine when they were trapped in the Stone Warrior's tomb, were stealing the village's supplies and making a break for it as the Ninjas of Yin and Yang and Ultra flew over them.
"The Venomari?!" Melissa exclaimed in shock.
"I thought those guys were defeated by the Stone Warriors." Lloyd said in complete shock.
"Apparently, some were never with the Serpentine when they were trapped underground." Melissa noted as they then saw some other Venomari threatening the villagers with their weapons. "Those villagers need our help."
"Agreed. We'll need to split up." Lloyd said as he stood up. "Ultra, you deal with the fire and the thieves." He said to the dragon. "Melissa and I will take on the warriors."
"Let's do this, Lloyd!" Melissa declared as she and Lloyd put on their masks and jumped down as they summoned the Golden and Silver Dragons.
"Formation triple dragon!" Both Melissa and Lloyd called as they and Ultra spread out.
At the village, the villagers are still screaming in panic while some of them were trying to put out the fire before they turn and saw the Venomari hissing at them with their spears ready, but then they look up and saw Ultra flying by as Shard's head then breathed out ice beams, which put out the fire as the villagers all cheered in joy.
But that vanished when the Venomari was in front of them with their spears aimed at them, but then the villagers smiled again as Lloyd and Melissa's Energy Dragons grabbed a couple and picked them up high as the snakes screamed in panic at how high they were.
"You ground dwellers need a flying lesson." Lloyd quipped with a look.
"And it's gonna be a bumpy ride!" Melissa added as the two dropped the Venomari as the snakes screamed as they were about to hit the ground, but the Ninjas of Yin and Yang caught them again before tossing them into the creak as they fell into the water.
"And a lesson." Lloyd continued. "Keep your heads down and don't mess with Ninjago!"
"Or else you deal with the Ninjas of Yin and Yang!" Melissa added as she and Lloyd gave a serious look while the Venomari they tossed looked up and nodded in fear, since they knew better than to mess the Ninjas of Yin and Yang.
Ultra flew by them as he chased after the Venomari trying to get away with the supplies as Rocky's head breathed down as the ground shook, knocking them off balance while Wisp's head blasted lightning at them, causing them to scream as some fell to the ground while others ran off without the supplies.
The last Venomari turned and saw the villagers giving determined smiles while smashing their fists together. The Venomari then dropped his spear and ran away as the villagers chased after him while throwing their items at him before they stopped since the snake had already left.
Lloyd, Melissa, and Ultra then flew together in a formation as they circled in the air while the villagers all cheered on to the Ninja of Yin and Yang and their dragon as they took to the air and flew off.
Ultra then looked to the side and saw a flock of birds in V-formation while Melissa and Lloyd flew over him. They diminish their energy dragons as they were about to land on Ultra's saddle, but Ultra then made a turn in another direction while Melissa and Lloyd were still falling.
"Hey!" Lloyd called out.
"Woah!" Melissa called out as the two turned to Ultra. "Ultra, where are you going?!" She called out to him.
"Ultra! Get back here!" Lloyd added as they watched Ultra vanished below cloud level as Lloyd and Melissa then quickly brought back up their Energy Dragons.
"What's going on with Ultra?" Melissa asked in concern. "He never would've left us falling like that."
"I don't know, but let's find out." Lloyd said as the two flew towards where Ultra flew off to.
After some long flying as it was near sunset, Melissa and Lloyd continued to ride their Golden and Silver Dragons as they followed the flight path Ultra used before they saw a land with rocky terrains in front of them.
"The Spirit Coves." Lloyd said in surprise.
"The land where Ultra went through his molt phase?" Melissa asked in surprise. "Why is he back here again?"
"Let's find him and find out." Lloyd said as the two flew around the cove in search of Ultra before they spotted him sitting on one of the rocky pillar arcs looking at the sun, which surprised them as they flew towards Ultra and diminish their energy dragons as they walked up to him while Ultra gave a sad growl as Lloyd and Melissa took off their masks and look in concern.
"Hey, what's wrong, boy?" Melissa asked, petting Ultra's leg.
Soon, Lloyd and Melissa look out the sunset as they then realize what was wrong with Ultra as they turn to him. "Miss your home, huh?" Lloyd asked as Ultra growled softly in confirmation, having missed his birth home.
"Yeah, we would be too if we were away from home for so long." Melissa added, feeling bad for Ultra since there were no other dragons anywhere in Ninjago and he missed his birth home where he belonged before he guarded the Golden Weapons.
Lloyd and Melissa can't stand Ultra being sad and alone as they look at each other, having the same idea as they nod and turn back to Ultra. "Go on, then." Lloyd said as he and Melissa petted Ultra's heads.
"If you wanna go back home, you can, we're not gonna stop you." Melissa said softly.
Ultra purred at their touch while giving an uncertain look to Lloyd and Melissa, wondering if this is their wish as the two Ninjas stepped back. "Go home!" Lloyd encouraged him with a smile.
"You've already done your part in Ninjago, Ultra. You deserve this. Now go! You're free!" Melissa cheered as Ultra purred at them before he then took to the air and flew around while Lloyd and Melissa watched as they waved to Ultra as they watched him twirl and open a portal as he vanished through it.
Lloyd and Melissa gave a sad frown, they knew that they will miss Ultra so much, but he deserves to be free from any shackles.
"You think he'll be okay?" Lloyd asked.
"You kidding me, Lloyd, nothing can harm that dragon, it's those who try to mess with him I'm worried about." Melissa said with a small smile. "But we know that whatever happens, Ultra will always be with us. No matter how far he goes, he will always be our friend." She added.
"Yeah, he always will be." Lloyd said with a smile. "You think we should write a note letting others know?"
"They have the right to know about Ultra's whereabouts." Melissa said with a nod. "Though they might be sad that he left, they would understand that he needs to be free. They went through it once, they'll do it again."
"True enough." Lloyd said as the two smiled and continued to look out the sunset where Ultra flew off in the portal. "Goodbye, Ultra."
"We will never forget you." Melissa added as the two stay there for a while to cherish the moment of Ultra.
Somewhere else in an unknown area that isn't in Ninjago, Ultra was flying in a land with mountain peaks and bright sunlight that is black as he then turned and saw a flock of dragons flying beside him as they all roared in nostalgia.
Ultra will miss his times with the Ninja and his time in Ninjago, but the Ninja will understand that he is home and with his own kind, and that they wanted him to be free.
