Hey guys! Crescent Rider here and I am back with another episode! There isn't much for me to say apart from the fact this episode will mainly focus on Caine while Wednesday has a minor role of the chapter.
That is all and enjoy the episode!
~Last time on Total Drama Island!~
~The Killer Bass had bested the Screaming Gophers after Wednesday's unnatural skill to play dead for hours!~
~Heather orchestrated the first-ever alliance of the series, but her plan to steal Eva's MP3 Player was thwarted when the very same winner!~
~The Screaming Gophers would be met with their first elimination ceremony and it was Tyler who received the short end of the stick after Heather convinced most of her team to vote on him.~
~Pretty wicked stuff considering that the reason for his elimination was cause Heather didn't want Lindsay getting all kissy-kissy with the jock during their alliance~
~Who will break the rules of their new alliance? Will Wednesday continue to play dead until the end? And who will take the next walk down the Dock of Shame? Stay tuned for the most dramatic ceremony yet on~
~Total. Drama. Island!~
MAIN LODGE
The next morning, The Screaming Gophers and Killer Bass were at their tables eating another batch of Chef's breakfast. Though the Killer Bass looked a lot worse compared to Screaming Gophers. The worst ones of them all were Gwen and Duncan who still had bags on their eyes and constantly wobbling on their seats. The only ones missing were Caine, Harold, and Wednesday.
Chris soon entered the main lodge and looked over at the Killer Bass' table, "Duncan, you look like crap,"
"Stuff it," Duncan said, not wanting to remove his head from the table,
"Harold snored all night," Courtney groaned, which explains why most of the Killer Bass were still tired and few were yawning,
"Wow. Four nights without sleep? How much are you hurting dude?" Chris asked while laughing, though it only got on the Green-haired delinquent's nerves,
"Wanna find out?!" Duncan threatened as he slammed his fist on the table as he stood,
"No, no, it's cool" Chris replied while backing up, and some of the Killer Bass were prepared to stop him,
Then everyone turned to the open door and gasped upon seeing Harold in the lodge. But what they were gasping wasn't his arrival but what was drawn on his face with a black mark. Harold nodded before walking in with pride towards the Killer Bass, though he was met with snickers from both teams and Chris which caught his attention, "Okay, what?!"
"Someone messed with your face, dude," Geoff told while the rest of the team continued to laugh as Harold checked his reflection on a spoon,
"Hey, sweet 'stache," Harold remarked with a smile,
"Oh it suits you, though I wish I could've done that to you," Duncan remarked, and this caused everyone to stop laughing and turn to the delinquent. Which somehow earned his undivided attention, "What?"
"You... didn't do that to him?" Courtney questioned,
"No, did any of you?" Duncan asked directly to the other boys, and they shook their heads in response. This brings an unsettling feeling, especially when they know that Screaming Gophers aren't also involved as the Killer Bass turned to them and they shared their denial,
They soon turned to Chris, who raised his hands in defense, "Don't look at me. I'm all in for really painful and humiliating stuff you all get in the challenges,"
"That only leaves Caine and Wednesday, but I don't see either of them doing that to Harold," Courtney listed,
"What are you guys on about?" Right on cue, Caine arrived at the lodge, and beside him was Wednesday who was awake like every morning,
"We wanted to know who drew Harold's mustache in his sleep," Courtney explained, "Since Wednesday stays in our cabin all night, we were wondering if you had something to do about it,"
Caine would turn to Harold to see the mustache, then back at Courtney, "That isn't my doing since I don't do petty things, and I've been asleep even with Harold's snoring,"
"If not you, then who did that to him?" Geoff inquired,
"How about we don't find out, and focus on today's challenge," Chris interjected, "It begins in the next ten minutes! And be prepared to bring it!"
Chris soon left the main lodge while everyone dropped the mysterious prankster for now.
"What do you think the challenge's gonna be today?" Bridgette asked,
"Hopefully not as bad as the last challenge," Courtney hoped, "Especially with almost everyone here tired,"
Eva hummed and everyone turned to her. Then she follows up with a familiar feeling on today's challenge, "My sports senses are tingling,"
Everyone looked at each other, then back at a smirking Eva. But before that, Courtney had a question for Wednesday, "Hey, Wednesday. How are you feeling lately?"
"Same as always," Wednesday replied without any visible issues of sleep deprivation,
"Even with Harold snoring across the cabin?" Bridgette questioned, and only received a blink from Wednesday,
Eventually, they chose not to question it and ate their breakfast before going to the location where their next challenge occurred.
10 MINUTES LATER...
All twenty-two campers gathered to where Chris initiated the challenge. It appears to be a gym-like area set up on the beach. There were bleachers on both sides with the walls made of thick glass, Chef sitting on the umpire chair between the two bleachers and wearing a referee uniform.
Duncan lies down on one of the bleachers and sends a quick glare to his team, "Wake me up, and it'll be the last thing you do,"
Most of the Killer Bass nodded while the rest weren't fazed by this. Then they, along with the Screaming Gophers, shift their attentions at Chris as he's tossing a red rubber ball in his hand, "Today's challenge is the classic game of dodgeball,"
The Gophers flinched and turned to Eva who had a mad grin on her face as she cracked her knuckles. The Bass, on the other hand, felt confident due to the strongest and short-tempered woman being on their team.
CONFESSIONAL - EVA
"Dodge ball, huh? Oh, that'll be fun," Eva grinned and still cracking her knuckles,
"The first rule of dodgeball is..." Chris began, but was interrupted by Noah's sarcastic remark, "Do not talk about dodgeball"
"As I was saying..." Chris continued, "If you get hit with the ball..."
Chris throws the ball and hits Courtney in her gut, "You're out!"
"Hey!" Courtney yelled, picking up the ball, and throwing it at Chris, "You can't do that!"
Though Chris catches the ball easily, "If you catch the ball, the thrower gets sent out and the catcher gets to bring in another team member out on the court,"
"Throwing balls. Gee, another mentally challenging test," Noah sarcastically remarked,
"I know right?" Lindsay agreed, not understanding Noah's sarcasm and both he and Owen looked at each other awkwardly,"
"Okay now Geoff, try to hit me," Chris said as he held a ball in hand. Geoff would hold another ball, and throw it at Chris, who used the ball he's holding to block the other, "If you're holding a ball, you can use it to deflect a ball, but if it knocks the ball out of your hands, you're out,"
"So wait, what do I do if the ball comes at me?" Lindsay asked, not understanding the rules,
"You dodge!" Chris replied and threw the ball he was holding at Lindsay. Unfortunately, it ended up hitting the girl in the face and she fell onto the floor with a bruise on her face, "Oooooh... You were supposed to dodge!"
Ugh... Right," Lindsay groaned as she stood up,
"You have one minute until game time," Chris instructed and went to sit next to a chair where Chef's on, "You'll all have five people on the court each game. If you catch a ball, you can bring in whoever you want. It's best of five and you get a point by hitting all five people with the ball!"
"Soooo... Is the plan pretty much hand Eva all the balls and let her clean house?" Geoff assumed,
Almost everyone on the Killer Bass nodded as Eva grinned, but Caine would interject before they followed along with the obvious plan, "As good as it sounds, it shouldn't be our first option and I don't doubt Eva's strength,"
"You better not," Eva warned, which didn't intimidate Caine in the slightest,
"Instead, we should focus on a strategy that's best for our team. Relying on one person alone leads to stagnation of the others, and I just so happen to have a strategy in mind," Caine said,
"Alright, what'cha got for us?" DJ asked and this was what Caine needed as he had everyone lean forward and explain the details of his strategy to everyone.
Some of the Screaming Gophers would turn to the Killer Bass and feel some level of suspicion of their tactics for today's challenge. After a few minutes of discussion, Geoff would be the first to voice his opinion, "That's a sweet strategy, man! Let's do it!"
"Eva? You game?" Caine questioned,
"As long as I do all the crushing, I'm all in for it," Eva replied,
"Then it's settled, Killer Bass?" Caine asked and stretched his hand at the center, the others knew its meaning and placed their hands onto his, sans Wednesday, however...
"Killer Bass!" Everyone else chanted and most would go to the bleachers while five of their teammates remained on their side of the court.
CONFESSIONAL - EVA
"Though I haven't seen or known much about Caine, something tells me that he's got a lot going for us," Eva noted with her usual blank face and crossed arms, "A mind for strategy and leadership is just as important as strength in sports,"
CONFESSIONAL - CAINE
"And as I expected from Eva's opinion, it served the first part of my plan," Caine said while balancing a ball he had brought with him on one finger, "The second part is to learn all about my teammates and know which is an asset and which is a liability. I'll let people decide what they think of me"
With a strategy in mind, most of the campers went to the bleachers while five of their selected team members were on their respective sides of the court. On the Killer Bass' side are Caine, Courtney, DJ, Eva, and surprisingly, Harold, while on the Screaming Gophers' side are Heather, Lindsay, Owen, Leshawna, and Cody.
Caine snapped once and pumped his fist to get his team's attention. The four nodded and got into formation, which involved DJ, Courtney, and Eva making a line with the latter at the back, and Caine and Harold took to the sides respectively,y and were far from the line.
"Just what are they up to?" Heather questioned with narrowed eyes,
"Both teams ready?" Chris asked, and Gophers and Bass nodded, "Remember, best of five games wins. Now! Let's dodge some balls!"
With Chef blowing a whistle, three Gophers picked up the balls on their side while the Bass' balls remained on the floor as they focused on a defensive standpoint rather than an offensive.
"Remember, DJ. We're counting on you," Courtney said,
"Got it," DJ replied while eying on the Gophers,
"You too, Ginger Snore!" Eva yelled, and Harold was silent as he focused on the game and not the insult,
With Harold on the court, they assumed he was ripe for the taking and Owen would throw the ball at him at full force. What they didn't expect was the former's reaction time as he avoided the fast-moving ball by spinning to the side like a ballerina,
Cody throws the ball at Harold next, and the latter jumps to the side to avoid it without crossing the boundary of their side of the court.
This resorts to Leshawna focusing on the center and throwing her ball at DJ, which soon reveals another trick in their strategy, "Duck!"
The three ducked in unison and it surprised both teams, Chef, even Chris as he clapped in approval, "Nice play, dudes!"
With that, all the balls on the Gophers' side were spent and Caine smirked before issuing a firm command, "Break!"
He, Harold, Courtney, and DJ collected all six balls on the court and passed the first two on Eva's hands while Caine gave the trigger words to the short-tempered Althele, "No Quarter!"
Eva grinned which caused the Gophers to gulp in fear and Cody squeaked a word from his terrified lips, "Mommy..."
The first throw of balls was at full force and hit Owen and Cody respectively. Not only were they struck on their chests, they were also knocked on their feet and dragged a few meters from the court. Once the second pair of balls were given, Eva hurled them at Leshawna and Heather before either of them got the chance to take the balls that knocked the boys.
Lindsay now stands alone, and Eva shows some hint of cruelty by bouncing a ball on her hand, "Any last words, princess?"
"Uh..." Lindsay stuttered, then resorted to her only option by raising her hands high, "I SURRENDER!"
Eva glanced at Caine for affirmation, and the latter decided to show mercy rather than act brutally toward the opposing team, "Alright, let there be mercy,"
With that, Eva dropped the balls and Killer Bass cheered for the victory. What followed was all five sharing high-fives around and the Gophers picking themselves up from their bruises, though Heather frowned from their defeat as well as Lindsay's surrender. However, she couldn't find one reason to blame her given that it was Eva and her throws were monstrous.
"Alright, Time for round two! Everybody take a few minutes before bringing fresh meat on the court!" Chris announced and both teams changed members on the court,
Though there was little change in the Killer Bass' side as Caine switched with Geoff, the Screaming Gophers had to change all five of their members with Heather, Leshawna, Cody, and Owen groaning from the bruises they received and Lindsay ashamed for surrendering...
With a blow on Chef's whistle, the game continues with the same tactics from the Killer Bass and the same pain for the Screaming Gophers. Caine would just watch as the round continued, and then Wednesday scaled down the bleachers to sit next to him, "This wouldn't be much of a challenge with Eva at our side,"
"And I have you thanked for that," Caine said, "Especially when you had me return her player in her stead,"
"It keeps her on your leash given your disciplined tone and personality," Wednesday said,
"Regardless, I'm grateful," Caine told and watched the round end with another victory for the Killer Bass,
With the third round insisting both teams change players, Wednesday takes Harold's place as she stands from the bleachers and walks over to the court with the rest of the team. Though Courtney expressed her concerns for her, Wednesday nonchalantly assured her that she was in peak condition despite her condition,
Caine still watched from the bleachers as the third round began, then Bridgette approached him next, "Is there something you'd like to talk about, Bridgette?"
"Couldn't help but overhear you and Wednesday talk about Eva. Are you sure it's okay to treat her like that?" Bridgette questioned with concern,
"Hmmm... What do you think?" Caine inquired,
"Well... It feels wrong if you're using her, but I'm quite confused since you've kept the team close," Bridgette noted, "So it doesn't make so much sense in my opinion,"
"But if you put it in a logical standpoint, we're participating in a competition where there's only one winner for 100,000 Dollars and the rest are kicked off to the Boat of Losers." Caine replied, "Therefore, my intentions wouldn't truly make sense given how I'm also gunning on the prize money,"
"You've got me on a loop here, Caine," Bridgette admitted as she was more confused than ever,
"Then I'll let you decide whether I'm using everyone for my benefit or not. Trust goes a long way, and the outcome will justify the results of my acts," Caine said,
"If that's how you put it... I'll try, but don't think you've earned my trust yet," Bridgette said,
"I'll take your word for it," Caine clarified and the two turned back to the game,
Though the Gophers have become more cautious of the Killer Bass' strategy, they soon targetted Wednesday assuming that she's hiding her fatigue after the Awake-a-thon challenge. But they were quickly in awe by how she displayed her reaction speed and acrobatics skills on the court.
When the first ball was thrown, Wednesday swiftly took a sidestep, then followed by a duck for the second ball and a backflip which caused most people to hang their jaw before Wednesday looked at the Gophers and made a condescending smirk on her lips.
"Whoa/Wow..." Bridgette and Caine mouthed in awe, though the latter was awestruck while the former was genuinely surprised,
If that wasn't enough, Wednesday went out of her way to clean the round by grabbing one ball, scanning every Gopher on the court, and taking down all five Gophers in a single throw through Richotect. Chef then blew a whistle and Chris expressed the following, "That was a sick throw, dude!"
Wednesday wouldn't turn to him, instead, she focused on maintaining her smirk at the losing team. Further putting salt on the wounds as they returned to the bleachers for the fourth round of the challenge.
"She's incredible," Bridgette commented,
"She really is," Caine agreed and the surfer girl glanced at him, she could tell that there was more to this reaction than just surprise. She could even see a smile curling its way to his lips and it soon brought a subtle idea onto the surfer girl,
CONFESSIONAL - BRIDGETTE
"Though I still can't tell whether he's helping or using us. I can tell is that Caine is bewitched by Wednesday," Bridgette with a knowing smirk "It can't hurt to play cupid to a team player..."
But before Bridgette could say a word of encouragement to Caine, they soon heard a bit of an argument from the Gophers' bleachers, "Ahem! Are you going to take one for the team, brainiac?"
"Am I? Sorry. Go, Team, Go. We still have a chance," Noah unenthusiastically cheered while reading his book again, and much to Leshanwa and the rest of the Gophers' irksome. As for Caine, he frowned upon uncooperative behavior and decided to fix that by standing up, "Geoff, Switch with me,"
"Sure, man," Geoff agreed and the two shared a quick high-five before taking to the bleachers,
As for the Gophers' side, mainly consists of Trent, Cody, Leshawna, Beth, and Izzy. And before Chef blows the whistle for round four, Caine gestured the following message to Trent: A finger pointed towards the ball, a thrown gesture at himself, and the throwback with his finger directed at Noah.
Trent nodded with a smile and round four began with him grabbing the ball and throwing it at Caine. Though he would out himself when the latter caught the ball and Leshawna would raise an eyebrow at him, "Boy? Why'd you do that for?"
"Just watch," Trent insisted and refrained from walking to the bleachers,
After the rest of the balls were thrown from the Gophers' side, Caine whistled at his team to get their attention and raised his hand to stop whatever they were doing for this round. He gestured for them to watch him as he prepared his throw at the Gophers.
He firmly the ball at its side, visualizes the proper trajectory, and pulls the ball back while everyone watches, even Chris and Chef out of curiosity by what Killer Bass' de facto leader has in store for everyone. Once everything was finished, all he needed to do was throw, and the ball curves from Gophers' side of the court, directly into the bleachers, and finally...
BANG!
Into Noah's face as he fell in between the open spaces of the bleachers...
"That's called 'Taking one for the team', Boy!" Caine shouted while everyone laughed at the intentional throw towards a clueless Noah, even most of the Screaming Gophers joined in on Noah's humiliation than complain,
CONFESSIONAL - COURTNEY
"I know it seemed unnecessary, but... Ha! Ha! Ha!" Courtney laughed a few, then smiled directly at the camera, "You've got to admit, he deserved it!"
CONFESSIONAL - LESHAWNA
"Man, I was about to whack that boy for being such a wuss on the challenge," Leshawna admitted, then smirked at the camera, "But after Caine knocked him out, I feel good with just that,"
CONFESSIONAL - NOAH
Noah would be seen on the confessional holding the spot where he was hit with a dodgeball, and frowns directly at the camera, "That wasn't funny..."
After everyone stopped laughing, Caine decided to end things once and for all rather than drag it any further, "Now that that's over with, can we all just call it a day? I mean, all of you have been through enough and we have this challenge in the bag with Eva on our side. Think you could spare your bodies with more bruises, or we can end this now and you can accept what you've got today, What do you say?"
The Screaming Gophers glanced at each other as they considered his words, but when they all glanced at Eva at the Killer Bass' side. Leshawna would be the first to speak for all of them, "You know what? White boy's right! We've got more than enough bruises for one day,"
What followed was the rest of the Screaming Gophers approving to Caine's proposal, even Heather. Chris took this as affirmation and Chef blew the whistle, "By forfeiting the challenge, the Killer Bass wins by default!"
"Caine! Caine! Caine!" Most of the Killer Bass cheered,
"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! This isn't my victory" Caine interrupted, and a few looks were made, "It's our victory. Killer Bass! Killer Bass!"
"Killer Bass! Killer Bass! Killer Bass!" Most of the Killer Bass chanted along with him while the rest simply smirked to themselves. Even a few members of the Gophers joined in and the rest ignored them as they set their sights on a recovering Noah. For they all donned a look of disapproval...
It was another campfire ceremony for the Screaming Gophers, but they had already decided on who would be removed from the island. Chris, as usual, held a tray full of marshmallows and began, "Campers, you've all placed your votes and made your decision. One of you will be going home and you can't come back, Ever. When you hear me call your name, come pick up a marshmallow,"
"Owen, Gwen, Cody, Trent," Chris listed, and the four went and collected their marshmallow,
"Heather, Beth, Justin, Leshawna, Izzy," Chris followed and five collected their marshmallow as well. Though Izzy had her hand onto Lindsay's before going to get her, "The final marshmallow goes to..."
Lindsay felt completely tense while Noah looked confident despite the hand on the sore area of Caine's throw. Eventually, Chris would reveal the last vote for tonight's campfire, "Lindsay,"
"Are you kidding me?!" Noah exclaimed while Lindsay smiled as she rushed to collect her marshmallow and kissed it, "Alright, fine, whatever! Good luck because you just voted out the only one with any brains on this team!"
Their response was to throw their marshmallows at him, and Leshawna spoke for the team once more, "You need to learn a little thing called respect!"
"Whatever... I'm out of here," Noah finished and walked to the Dock of Shame,
"Though not the most dramatic campfire I've had, it was wicked to see the Gophers be humble and Noah getting a face hit hard, Ha! Ha!" Chris said, then turns to the camera "Will the Screaming Gophers make a comeback or will the Killer Bass remain on top? Find out on the next episode of Total. Drama. Island!"
...
...
...
Outside the cabins of the Killer Bass, tonight's dinner was settled over a campfire that everyone made, freshly fish skewered on sticks properly cooked over the flame, and properly seasoned with herbs and spices they've either found in the forests or stolen under Chef's nose. The latter was in courtesy of Duncan and Wednesday's skills.
"Mmmmm... This may be the first fine meal I've eaten since Chef's cooking!" Courtney stated as she gorged herself on her skewered fish,
"How'd you learn all this, Caine? Spill us your secrets, Man," DJ asked,
"When your father served out of the country, you'd be surprised at all the possibilities you could pick up just by practice, trial and error," Caine revealed and enjoyed his fish,
"So your dad's a military? Any stories you'd like to share?" Duncan asked,
"I would..." Caine soon heard the sound of several footsteps, "But not for tonight,"
Just a few feet away from them, the Screaming Gophers walked towards their cabins for a good night's sleep, but stopped after seeing and smelling the aroma of cooked fish,
"I take it, Mr. Know-it-all is out, huh?" Caine questioned,
"Uh, duh. Why do you care?" Heather questioned with narrowed eyes,
"Because what I did was sweet and memorable to us all. Say, why don't you all join us for some cooked fish?" Caine offered, "It could be worth your time,"
"Would I?!" Owen excitingly asked, but was surprisingly stopped by Heather, "What's the catch?"
"Nothing. Stary-night skies, warm fire, well-done fish with seasonings that we've gathered and stolen from Chef. This is by far my most generous offer, and we've got some surplus to feed pretty much everyone for the entire night," Caine said, and everyone remained silent as they stared at the Screaming Gophers, "Sure, we're all opponents aiming for the top spot of the competition, it doesn't mean we can't get along out of Chris' radar. Either way, it's all your choice to accept it or not,"
Under normal circumstances, the Gophers would outright refuse since this was offered by the team that had beaten them from today's challenge. But given how Caine showed a sportsman-like personality and the luxury of seeing their uncooperative ex-teammate get smacked on the face by him. It was hard to choose the matter.
"Oh what the heck, it's better than eating Chef's brown slob for tonight," Gwen relented and walked over to the Killer Bass. What follows are the other Gophers joining with her and Heather still suspicious over Caine's ulterior motives.
But before she could say anything, members of her alliance hound at her with pleading eyes and clasped fingers, "Can we? Can we? Can we?!"
Heather would've told them no, but being left out of good food was too much for her to reject. Therefore, she too, relented from refusing Caine's proposal, "Fine... But just for tonight, and I don't want all of you gloating about today!"
"You have my solemn vow," Caine vowed with a raised hand and another on his chest,
Thus, everyone had gotten their fill of today's food before calling it in for the night in their respective cabins. Though Caine would be the last person to enter the boy's cabin with a proud smile on his face...
CONFESSIONAL - CAINE
"With tonight's dinner, Phase Two is a complete success... All that remains is Phase Three," Caine revealed while holding up three fingers. As Phase One, it had been completed after the Killer Bass had won the Dodgeball Challenge,
That is it for this episode guys! A little short compared to the last one, but it didn't feel all that important since it was just a game of dodgeball. But that didn't mean I could include some stuff of my own.
Also, you may all ask about the last part and confession about Caine's motives in the show. My response to all of them is the same as his to Bridgette, Trust me on what I'm doing and I may or may not surprise you in the end.
That is all and I'll see you in the next episode!
(P.S.: I talked to Ninjamon1228, a.k.a Shuckle2001, the other day, and they've given me permission to work on a Loud House React Fic of the Total Loud Series! I won't start working on it now, but expect it to come out after I've sorted a few stories here!)
