I am constantly bringing this reminder for art commissioners and fake users to STOP bothering me with bogus deals or ideas where I've already made it clear that I do not do that. SERIOUSLY! I've been getting five to six of you scamming morons for the past week! I will still keep reporting and blocking you all! Fanfiction may be lazy in their job, but I'm not when fighting back against scamming idiots who have nothing better to do. Learn to read, fakers! Leave me and the rest of my user friends out of your pathetic bullying!
Now, back to the story.
THREE DAYS LATER...
Bart knocked at Macy's apartment door.
"Macy? Are you home?" Bart questioned. "You haven't answered any of my calls for a few days. Is everything okay?"
Not getting a response, Bart decided to use the key Macy gave him to unlock the door and open. Once he did, the young boy was flabbergasted to see the place was an absolute mess.
"Holy nightmares, Gliss! Macy's apartment looks like it was hit by a tornado!" Bart shouted, noticing the pet turtle was fine. "Was she kidnapped?!"
To answer his question, a frazzled Brunette still in her Black Arrow uniform was coming down stairs distracted while mumbling to herself. Her hair was a mess and her eyes look dark underneath as if she hasn't slept at all.
"Forty-eight hours in and no sightings just yet," Macy muttered, hurrying to a conspiracy board to add new information and string pins to connect. "These little parasites can crawl all they want, but they can't hide forever! They're out there...waiting...ready to strike...And I will find them before they have the chance!"
Bart was feeling really nervous when approaching Macy. "Ummm...Macy?"
"Oh! Hey, Bart," Macy said, jumping a little in seeing him while playing it cool. "When, um, when did you get here?"
"About thirty seconds ago?" Bart replied, sounding like a question. "Are you okay?"
"Well, if you must know, I have been extremely busy tracking down a long, dangerous alien creature we thought was dead after three years yet somehow is still alive," Macy quickly said, a creepy smile on her face like everything's fine when it's not. "Green Arrow doesn't believe me, but I'm going to prove him wrong by nipping this problem in the bud before it happens again!"
Bart was now nervous. Macy was talking nonsense. "Macy, you sound like...you haven't gotten any sleep."
"Sleep? Who can sleep knowing those evil starfish creatures are still out there? They could probably strike any time, any place, and any moment?!" Macy exclaimed rapidly, not stopping in going around the room. "I can't let my guard down once! That was the heroes' mistake that got them brainwashed by that aggravating star sushi in the first place! Well, I'm not making their mistake! Someone has to stop them...and I'm the only one who can!"
Bart then kind of understood what Macy was talking about. But how she defined it sounds unhinged. "Macy, from the way you're describing, you're talking like you saw Starro's spore. But the invasion was years ago, and the heroes have already destroyed all of them." He said.
"I know what I saw, Bart! There's an ugly, vicious starfish crawling around Star City!" Macy argued, gathering her bow and arrows. "I can't let it target any more innocent people again like three years ago! I can't let it hurt my family, my friends...you."
The Brunette said that last part softly, looking at Bart with tears in her eyes.
Bart didn't know what to say. But the expression he had was frightened, mixed with sympathy.
"I'm sorry, Bart. There's just so much pain I've been through that I don't have time to explain," Macy said, walking over to him while giving a caring hand on his shoulder. "If stopping this Starro spore means going back solo without rest so nothing bad happens to the people I love, then it's a risk I'm willing to take."
Bart didn't know what to say. He just looks at Macy, feeling sorry. "Macy, you need to, at least, sleep. Whatever it is you're about to do, without proper rest, you'll be too weak to fight back."
Macy looked away while letting go of Bart. She grabbed her mask to put on in becoming Black Arrow and made her way out the window.
"Watch after Gliss for me, please," Black Arrow responded, being neutral. "I'm going to be out and might be coming back late."
"...Fine. Just be careful," Bart replied.
Nodding, Black Arrow makes her exit. After she left, Bart was deeply concerned.
"This is not good," Bart replied, before looking at the fourth wall. "If Macy's not telling me what's bothering her, you know it's bad! There's only one hero I know who can help her..."
Bart then snaps his fingers and disappears in a puff of sparkles. Gliss was confused, but then Bart reappeared again to pet Gliss and give her food.
"Sorry about that, Gliss, but I have to help Macy. It's for her own good," He pets Gliss one more time before snapping his fingers and disappearing in a puff of sparkles again.
At the Batcave...
The legendary Caped Crusader, Batman, was searching through his bat computer for something. Or someone.
'According to the batcomputer's satellite dish orbiting around Earth, a few individual heroes have been disappearing,' Batman thought to himself. 'Whoever is doing this seems to be going after the likes of Captain Marvel and his family, the Metal Men, Firestorm, Stargirl, and Booster Gold for some reason. They're targeting the newer, the younger, and sometimes tolerable heroes. But why?'
As Batman was thinking, something appeared in front of him.
"BATMAN!"
Batman was about to fall from his chair but did a backflip, landing in his feet. And to his surprise, he sees someone who he thought he didn't have to see again. "Bat-Mite? Why are you here?"
"No time to explain! You're needed in Star City!" Bat-Mite responded.
Before Batman could argue or question more, Bat-Mite snapped his fingers to teleport from the Batcave to Star City.
Ace the Bathound was walking in the cave and was confused on where Batman was.
~Three years ago...~
Macy dressed as Green Arrow kept fighting the good fight. As she predicted, Batman and his own surviving hero team was already occupying the brainwashed heroes. With the Starfish zombies distracted, Macy was already saving and evacuating any survivors from being turned, as well. She used several arrows from her arsenal that were not deadly yet enough to slow the infected down. Macy kept her distance whenever being near people so they wouldn't tell she's not the real Green Arrow. Even used her ventriloquism to make her sound like Green Arrow.
"Go! Head to the Smith O'Neil High School and don't stop until you get there!" Macy exclaimed, using Green Arrow's voice to the crowd running away. "I'll hold them off for as long as I can!"
A concerned citizen then asked, "What about you?"
"Don't worry about me! Your safety is my main priority until Batman handles the bigger fish," Macy assured the random citizen, firing a net arrow at the Starro Zombies to slow down. "And knowing Bats, he'll find a way to stop this invasion from getting any worse...I hope."
"Okay. Be safe, Green Arrow," The concerned citizen said.
Another citizen then murmured; "It's a good thing he didn't get infected by those spores. Or maybe he managed to take it off."
After the civilians she saved were evacuated away from danger, Macy turned around when hearing thunder. She looked up to the stormy sky in seeing something that was monstrous. A gigantic star with an eyeball in the middle, and it was descending from the heavens above the stadium in Star City.
"Oh...my...stars..." Macy muttered, using her regular voice in a mortifying tone and look. "That...is a big starfish."
She then looked up to see the surviving heroes battling that thing.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Captain Marvel said from the sky, as he, Batman, Booster Gold, Firestorm, and Bwana Beast charged at the giant alien starfish. With the young Brunette watching from down below looking above.
"Something tells me that's the Starro creep everyone keeps chanting about for hours," Macy stated, not leaving her gaze on that scary starfish until having a horrible realization. "Oh, no...The stadium! My parents could be there!"
Around her rescuing, she hasn't seen her parents at all. They weren't even in the house. Her friends were safe in home locked down from being infected. But Macy still feared for her family's safety.
"Don't worry, mom and dad...I'm on my way,"
With determination and hope in her heart, the Green Arrow cosplayer ran towards the stadium to find them.
While running to the stadium, she sees Batman and the heroes trying to fight Starro, but the evil starfish was too strong.
"Oh, boy...We're so in deep diaper trouble," Macy stated, having small doubts while still moving forward.
Not long after saying that, Booster Gold crashed on top of a diaper truck.
~Present...~
Black Arrow was patrolling around Star City. Despite feeling tired, she didn't want to stop.
'Got to keep going...Can't stop...Not now...' Black Arrow thought, jumping off a rooftop yet almost stumbled. 'Not now.'
Just as she continues to leap from building to building in her weakened state, Black Arrow sees her reflection and notices a shadowy individual following behind her. She stopped and took out her bow and arrow, ready to strike. She couldn't find anyone who was behind her and continued walking backwards.
"Show yourself!" Black Arrow yelled.
Suddenly, the Archerette in Black tripped off a building where she felt herself fall and screamed.
"Hold on!" A voice said.
Black Arrow had her eyes closed from what was going to happen next. Instead of a hard landing crash, she felt someone catch her and swing back up to the roof. The Archerette in Black slowly opened her eyes in seeing her savior.
"...Batman?" Black Arrow asked.
"Yes. And you must be Black Arrow," Batman replied. "I heard about you. You're Star City's newest archer hero."
"What are you doing here all the way from Gotham?" Black Arrow questioned, getting out of the Dark Knight's hold. She gasped on a thought. "Wait! You're tracking them, too, aren't you?! I knew I couldn't be the only one on this investigation!"
"I am on an investigation. You're tracking down the disappearance of the new heroes, I presume?" Batman asked.
"No. I mean, the investigation on that Starro spore spotted three days ago, duh!" Black Arrow remarked, holding back a yawn. "Green Arrow didn't believe me when I told him those things were back. Especially one trying to attack me in an alleyway. But if you're here, then that has to mean something."
"A Starro spore?" Batman asked, as he then shook his head. "Listen, I'm here to help you."
"We've done enough chatting. Let's check around the city and cover more ground! Let's go!" Black Arrow exclaimed, already running again.
"Black Arrow, wait!" Batman shouted, but the Archerette in Black didn't listen. 'What have you gotten me into, Bat-Mite?' Batman thought to himself, still following the young heroine. "Black Arrow, stop!"
"I can't stop! If I stop, then they'll strike with my guard down!" Black Arrow exclaimed, jumping off another building. "The Starro spores are back! That's why you're here, Bats!"
"The Starro spores were destroyed three years ago. I'm not here to help you with your paranoid investigation," Batman said, jumping off from one building to another while keeping up. "I'm here to help you because I've heard that you've not been feeling like yourself for the last three days."
Black Arrow screeched to a halt and slowly turned around, facing Batman, looking tense.
"Yeah...Because if I sleep now, then they'll strike and turn me into those starfish-faced zombies!" Black Arrow argued. "One tried to attack me exactly three days ago, but I stopped it!"
"Are you sure you saw a spore survive, Black Arrow?" Batman asked.
"YES! I had to stomp that nasty little nuisance until I knew it was done and trapped it in a garbage can at Conroy Avenue!" Black Arrow exclaimed, telling the truth, yet was shaking. "But somehow, before Green Arrow could see the proof, it disappeared! And now there's an evil parasite crawling around to attack!"
Batman knows that something must be triggering something within Black Arrow mentally. "You're not yourself. You're suffering from PTSD."
"I'M COMPLETELY MYSELF!" Black Arrow shouted, hating that the Dark Knight wasn't taking her seriously. "I thought you came here to help me!"
"I came here to get you help," Batman said. "I've been told that you have become too paranoid, due to lack of sleep."
Black Arrow gritted her teeth behind the mask, grabbing an arrow to set up on her bow.
"Bats...You're either with me or against me," Black Arrow stated, pointing her arrow at the Dark Knight. "If you're not going to help...then you're in my way."
Batman was in a fighting position. "I don't wanna fight you," He said. "You're not well!"
"You're. Not. LISTENING TO ME!" Black Arrow yelled, firing her arrow before lunging in to fight.
Although the Dark Knight dodged the arrow, he had to endure the hard hits from the young Archerette in Black. Despite being sleep-deprived, she was really holding strong on her moves.
'And I thought Green Arrow was hot-headed,' Batman thought to himself while blocking Black Arrow's fighting moves.
"For a master detective, you're a real idiot!" Black Arrow argued, still fighting the Dark Knight. "I know what's coming, and I'm the only one who can put an end to this disaster before it gets out of control like before! History is repeating itself and you guys are too oblivious form seeing it!"
'I hate to do this,' Batman said in his mind, as he then hit certain parts on Black Arrow's shoulders.
The Archerette in Black felt her body shut down and she collapsed to the ground on her back.
"Ugh...What did you do?" Black Arrow groaned.
"Pressure points," Batman explained to the immobilized hero. "I hit the deltoids on your shoulders and legs. You won't be moving your body for a while."
"You're making a huge mistake!" Black Arrow exclaimed, trying to move yet she couldn't. "Everyone is in danger now because of what you just did! You're supposed to be the greatest hero around! You, out of everyone, should see something bad or worse is coming!"
"I told you, I'm here to help you. A friend of yours was worried about you, so he called me to figure out what's wrong," Batman said. "You've been acting differently. Almost like you're being taking over by some...Massive trauma. To the Batcave."
In a far distance above, Bat-Mite snapped his fingers and teleported Batman and the immobilized Black Arrow back to the Batcave.
"Please, save her, Batman," Bat-Mite muttered, very worried. "I'm counting on you."
Bat-Mite then snapped away in another puff of smoke and sparkles. Going back to the fifth dimension and hoping that Batman will help Black Arrow come back to her senses.
To be continued…
It would seem that we got a little more behind Macy's past in dealing with the Starro Invasion. And she isn't taking the comeback well for being restless. Especially when she's never told Bart, her best friend, about it. And for those having those thoughts on Bat-Mite suddenly showing up like that, read 'Shadow of the Black Arrow' from the beginning to end to understand the situation better.
Could she be right about Batman making a big mistake here? Or is she really just plain crazy that needs help mentally? Find out next time.
I hope you all enjoy. No flamed or fake reviews, please.
