Luan was still crying in the bathtub, but Lori was still there to comfort her from the horrible things that happened to her yesterday. The eldest sister tried her best to comfort and console the joker sister in any way possible. "Look, Luan, i know how you feel." said Lori, "but it wasn't your fault."
"I could have broke myself free." Luan sniveled. "I could have give him a kick in the-"
"Shhhh." Lori soothed her some more. "Circus Freak literally caught us by surprise.
"Wait, i just remembered." Luan had a look of horror. "I told Circus Freak that you and Lincoln are my siblings! He knows your secret."
"Calm down, Luan. It's no big loss. That clown is under tighter security now. There's no chance he can get out now."
wiping tears from her eyes and cheeks, Luan finally said: "I'm very sorry Lori. For everything."
"I told you, Luan. It's not your fault. Lisa can always wipe out his memories in case he does get out. And please don't worry. He can't hurt you anymore." Lori hugged the joker girl once more before handing her a tissue.
"Normally i would make jokes that will make you laugh... or groan, but i'm not really in the mood to do that right now."
"Everything will get better. I know it. Now come on, go back to bed. It's a school night."
"Ok." Luan blew her nose into a tissue from the bathroom cabinet. Good thing she ran out of tears. "I'll see you tomorrow morning." she said before leaving the room.
"And, Luan," Lori gently stopped her, "if there are any more problems, just let me know. OK?"
"OK." then Luan quietly went back to her and Luna's room without accidentally waking the rocker sister up. Lori looked on at the joker sister as she was slowly going back to her bedroom. Understandably, the elsest Loud sibling was worried about Luan's well-being after all the crazy event she had went through.
Nevertheless, she had to supprt the comic sister in every way she can to help her get through this. Trauma was not an easy thing to get rid of. Of course it can be a permanent thing for people to deal with, depending on the circumstances, regardless of therapy or psychiatry. But on the other hand, trauma can mature people in way.
The Next morning, everyone was getting ready for school with Lori in the shower. Luan herself was in the back of the line for the bathroom, looking sad and cynical about everything.
The other siblings in front of her looked at her with worried expressions on their faces. "Uhhh, how are you doing, Luan?" Lincoln asked her
"Oh just fine, Lincoln. Never felt better. "I'm surprised that all of you forgive me so easily after all i've done."
"Luan, come on." said Luna. "It wasn't your fault. You had no control over what Circus Freak put in you."
"And i still think that the evil chemical Lisa got out should be destroyed instead of being experimented on." The other siblings, ans Luan, gave the smart girl a stern look on their faces.
"Lucy's right." said Lana. "What if that thing breaks free and turns any of us evil too?"
"Siblings, please do not jump to conclusions." said Lisa. "I have everything under control. Have any of my inventions or scientific stufies ever gone array before?"
"Well, let's see- yes! more times than we can count!" Lola snapped at the smart sister.
"No plan is one-hundred percent." Lisa countered. Even Stephen Hawking and Einstein were wrong about some petite details. But i swear on great grandmother Harriet's headstone that I will keep this little biochemical under lock and key. Locked tighter than the Arabian king's money vault."
"For your sake," said Lynn, "we hope you're right, or there will be a big problem."
"Noted."
"Look, Luan," said Leni. "We'll always be there to love and support you."
"Yeah just look at the positives." Lincoln said. "You got a loving family, and Mr. Coconuts."
The joker sister gave a sad smile. "Thanks guys. I'm getting a little worked up over nothing."
"Besides, you didn't kill anyone." said Lola. "Otherwise you would he serving twenty years to life."
"Yeah, that's helpful." The tomboy twin rolled her eyes. "Look, why not talk to Mr. Coconuts? You guys are one of a kind together."
"You're... you're right." Luan went to her room and got out her infamous puppet. "Well, i'll tell you, it's a big relief to be in this girl's hand... can't believe i just said that, Toots."
"that's just like you, Mr. Coconuts." Lola rolled her eyes. "Be blunt first, ask questions later."
"that's me alright." The puppet sang. "You know, Luan, i just remembered that you and Benny have a date at the Burpin' Burger after school."
"Oh! You're right." Luan looked shocked. "Oh but wait, do you think he knows about what i did?"
"He does." said Lucy flatly. "it was all over the news apparently. In fact, Benny came by a little while ago after Lori and Lincoln brought you back home."
Luan looked embarrassed and ashamed and facepalmed herself. "How am i going to face him now?"
"Just tell him that it was not your fault." Lincoln reassured her. "He'll understand. He'll know it wasn't your fault."
"O-Okay. I think i can don it." Luan let out a small breath. "If he didn't like me anymore, then he wouldn't have tried visit me, right?"
"Right." Her siblings confirmed.
"Gah, it's a date." Luan brushed it off. "I should he happy and keep my head high."
After school
Luan was waiting for her boyfriend to come and meet her. "Luan!" Said a voice in a distance. It was Benny walking towards her.
"Benny!" Luan looked happy to see him. She was about to hug him but stopped herself and clutched her elbows.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"I'm sorry Benny. I've... been through much."
"Right, your sisters told me about what Circus Freak did, and i'm very very sorry."
