"Sometimes I think it wasn't a ghost that spoiled the milk, they just forgot to get some more and were so obsessed with their work they left it out too long.", Jazz whispered to Dani.
Dani giggled and snickered, vaguely remembering that week. Her dad practically was having fudge and watching tv all week which she was jealous about during that time since she was having a rough week of homework where she swore that the teachers had piled up on them after Spring Break.
Danny's inquisitive voice piped up as he came back to his chair, "You really dreamed that I was twins with you, Dani? Was I awesome? And yes, Mommy, I washed my hands, promise!".
If Dani had to guess, Dan-Dan and Danny-boy were probably her family's way of making sure not to confuse the two of them. Dani had to guess that maybe Jack and Maddie were settled on Daniel before finding that they were probably having another girl in this timeline but didn't want to give up Daniel as a name, so they saved it for him.
Dani looked at Danny before a small smile fell on her face as she sighed, "Yeah... yeah, you were awesome, Danny-boy.". That one came straight from her heart because it really was thanks to him that she even was alive in the first place; both cloning wise but also just everything after.
The beaming look of pride on his face practically made her almost start breaking down into some happy tears but she held them back, trying hard not to draw attention at the moment. "So, Jazz, anything you plan to do while you're visiting us this weekend?", Maddie asked.
Jazz smiled, blushing softly, "I'm going on a date with Tucker this afternoon, and I'm actually going to his family dinner tomorrow night with his folks, but other than that, this morning, I'm hoping you and I would be on a mother and daughter trip for downtown shopping, Mom, and if it's cool with you, Dani, a sisters trip at the mall tomorrow. I am hoping to find something, something cool that Tucker never had in his collection yet, as his birthday is in a month.".
Dani blinked, choking on air, and Maddie replied, "Are you alright, Dani? Are you feeling a bit sick?", looking worried for her second-born daughter, as Dani knew that Tucker was supposed to be her age, but right now, she's recalling Tucker as around 19, almost 20, like Jazz is, through Jazz is about a few months older than Tucker which was a bit of a joke when Tucker and Jazz was babysitting Danny and teaching Dani how to drive.
"Sorry, my brain's just... foggy today. That dream, you know... so vivid...", Dani explained as Jazz chuckled, "Let me guess, you were babysitting Tucker or something?".
"Something like that.", Dani gave a nervous smile. Okay, now this wish was getting crazier, it was just the Fenton family affected; the Foley family was too. Dani could understand the wish making it to despite the improbability it would be, Jazz is exactly as she is down to the perfect match of DNA despite being born a bit sooner than she was supposed to be. But why was Tucker effected too? She thought if others were being affected by the wish, then Tucker would be more like Danny's age.
Then the thought hit her. What about Sam? If Tucker's older, and Danny's way younger... where does she fit? And Dani, deep down, had an idea.
"Sure, I'd love to.", Maddie smiled. "I've missed our mother-daughter days since you moved out.", nodding warmly. "Just wear something normal and not the jumpsuit, alright, Mom?", Jazz groaned as Maddie nodded before Jazz turned to Jack, "And no insisting she packs any ghost weapons either! We'll be fine!".
Dani froze. Ghost weapons...Valerie...crap...What about Valerie? She half heard Jack's response complaining, "Not even a baby ghost weapon?", and Jazz replied, "No. And besides, have you forgot again about Mom's wicked skills of being a martial arts fighter?".
"Alright, that's fair, but keep your phones on! At least we got some fun tv time, huh, Danny-boy?", Jack replied as Danny responded, "Yeah!".
Jazz smiled, "Yeah, heard you with the phones, Dad. Dani, you haven't answered my other question...Do you want to go to the mall with me tomorrow, or are you embarrassed by your big sister, and just hang out with Sam and Valerie?", glancing at Dani.
Dani blinked by hearing that. That answered two of her questions. So, her best friends obviously were Sam but also Valerie. Danny explained the situation to her once; how they were dating but also thanks to his dual life that she wasn't aware of, he accidently had an incident with a ghost dog that trashed the workplace of Val's dad and got him fired, basically ruining her life for a time since she was a rich snobbish girl that hung out with the popular kids before.
So, if from the sounds of things with Jazz, who knows how things have played out but at the very least, Valerie didn't seem to be a ghost eliminator being puppet-controlled by Vlad. And if they were friends, there was a good chance that like Sam and Tucker for Danny, Sam and Valerie, in this world, knew her powers. Powers she was going to have to double check on after breakfast at least to be sure. Last thing she wanted was to end up trying to fight a ghost but not having powers.
"No, not in the slightest.", Dani answered as she felt she was silent for a bit too long between then and Jazz's question. "I could use a change of scenery and hang out with you since I don't get to do it often now. I'm sure Sam and Valerie would understand unless you're up for having them join too.".
Jazz replied, "Tomorrow is great with you and me, and besides, were you saying that last night you were going to have like a video game/karaoke battle with Sam and Valerie respectively today at Valerie's place?".
Dani blinked, vaguely remembering her plans she made with Sam and Valerie on Thursday about Friday and the weekend, and nodded, "Oh, yeah! And before you ask, Mom, I am just needing to wake up fully as I'm not ill or anything. After all, I slept in a bit as usual, eh? Breakfast is helping there.", with a reassuring smile at her mother...God, her mother. This is going to take a bit fully for her to wrap her mind about it.
"Alright then... I'll get your plate then, Dan-Dan.", Maddie said as she walked over as a loud zapping sound was suddenly heard. "Daddy fried himself again...", Danny said with a tone that screamed a common occurrence.
"I'm alright! I'm alright!", Jack shouted. "Woo! What a rush! That'll wake you up and...". The look on his face turned to one of pain and embarrassment, "Makes your bladder feel like Atlanta's burning down again! Excuse me!". He rushed for the bathroom.
Dani winced as Jazz sighed, "Dad will never learn, will he?", as Maddie landed Danny's plate before her son, "Unfortunately, no, but you have to admit that he's durable and strong for almost anything.".
"Good point.", Jazz replied as Dani resumed eating, glancing with an amused smile at her little brother enjoying and munching on the bacon first like usual as Dani remembered in her new memories.
Honestly, seeing him as a carefree kid...it's a bit strange, but seeing him happy, having no worries, she had a feeling that Danny wouldn't mind if he knew about the wish, since it doesn't seem that he never knew anything about what she did, since the wish must be that damn powerful to make Danny far younger again, along with Tucker and Jazz being a bit older. Nothing changed much around her new folks except having Jazz a bit sooner, and of course, having her.
"Thanks for breakfast.", Dani smiled as she got up from the table and decided to head back to her room; she needed for sure to double check that she had her powers and then of course check the portal, at least to make sure things were still in reasonable place.
As she walked to her room, she passed by one of the walls and came to a stop as she looked at the photos that were hung up. Photos that were different from the memories she had from Danny as well as her own spying moments.
Silly photos, professional or personal family photos, school photos, holiday photos, birthday photos, and even a couple photos when she was with her parents when she was younger, with Jazz next to her, and Maddie clearly pregnant with Danny or in the hospital room, she and Jazz holding together of a bundled Danny on their laps, with smiles of joy and adoration.
Dani was literally there from as a baby in a hospital room, through different ages, up to now, and she blinked, realizing that she must have personal photos in her room, and she went to her room, to take in her room closer, and saw on her dressers and desk is photos of her with Jazz, her with Danny, her with Maddie and Jack, and then a photo of her in the middle between Sam and Valerie!
Now that she was alone, she felt the aching pain in her heart once more as she started to tear up at just the rush of emotions. Whatever the wish had done; it might have been even better than she had original asked for. She had a home, a family, she felt safe, it was almost too much for her as she never even dreamed of this sort of life.
Dani sat on her bed, running through her emotions as she cried in joy and awed shock, the pain giving way to love in her heart as she recalled now of many new memories, thank to seeing the photos now, taking deep breaths with a smile, taking several minutes.
Then she heard a buzzing sound, and glanced to see her phone, gods, her new phone, the latest version of this year, 2006, vibrating on her dresser, and she picked it up, opening it up, automatically checking for texts, and seeing one from Sam, 'Morn. U still coming? Val's house, 9.'.
Dani blinked, glancing to see that it's 8 am, and smiled as she responded back, 'Slept in. Yah, coming. Had dream. Check Phantom.', and nodded to herself, and exhaled, glancing to see that the door is closed, and the window is covered, and replied softly, "Going ghost.".
A moment later, as if almost like a switch that she was all too familiar with, Dani changed completely. Her eyes now glowing green, her hair snow white, her outfit replaced with a black and white radiation suit though cut off around the belly, showing off her midriff. Dani gave a sigh of relief. "Phew...", she said. It was good to know that something hadn't changed.
Dani looked at herself, and she saw that she had a black hairband holding her snow-white back which is good when she deserves to fly without it going crazy in her face, and she quite looked good, and somehow strangely beautiful in her ghostly glow, similar to Desiree, and even if she's still growing, with practice and experience, she will definitely become a fantastic adult superheroine in time, that's for sure.
She went through the basics of her powers, testing them carefully, and realized she felt more stronger and powerful compared to her...her ten-year-old self in her other memories? Dang, she really needs to write down in a secret journal or something. She was glad that she still got her favorite trick which is flares in her feet when she isn't transitioning to a wispy tail.
She had to wonder if she may have picked up a few of Danny's extra powers like Danny's scream which did save her hide in that fight against Skulker. She was going to have to do more live fire testing sooner or later in the coming days to be sure as she knew she had to be at the top of her game if she was going to do as the wish went, basically being Danny.
Now the burden seemed to be more on her and for all she knew at that moment, it was only her unless with how things had changed like perhaps with Valerie, she had a powerful partner or something that Danny didn't have.
Dani shifted back to human after admiring herself, and went to grab her wallet and her phone, and left her room to be sure that the ghost portal is locked as she ain't in the mood to fight another jerk of a ghost today as she promised her best friends she'd be there beating Sam at video games and beating Valerie at karaoke.
Felt so weird to think that, as if a totally new life was already slowly fitting but it wasn't fully out there since she did hang with Sam beforehand once or twice with Danny and Tucker too. Still, Val would be a bit tougher to get used to since hopefully, with whatever had happened in the past with this world, Valerie wasn't Vlad's bounty hunter or however she thought herself as before that wish.
Dani took a deep breath as she stopped her scooter in front of Valerie's place. The scooter, Dani learned, was a black folding push scooter, maybe her past self of herself wanted the exercise instead of getting a motorized one. Or Jack tried tinkering with a motorized one and decided it was better for her health for a simpler one.
Dani glanced over as she took off her helmet, Valerie's place was indeed that one she had before the dog incident. "Wow, Danny, how different are our styles?", Dani said to herself before she folded the scooter and walked up towards the front door. Dani pressed the doorbell and waited before the door opened up to reveal Sam.
Sam smiled widely, "Hey, Dani! Good timing! Ready to be beat at Mario Karts?", waving Dani in, and Dani smirked, "I don't know. Are you ready to lose, Sam?".
Sam gasped dramatically, "Perish the thought! You're going to bite those words...Too bad you can't cheat, as Mario Karts doesn't have glider-carts and all as you'd be a pro, considering that you're Phantom and all. Come on, Val is waiting, and she is going to keep score.", with a smile as she touched Dani's shoulder, and suddenly, something happened.
Sam felt a bit of a rush upon touching Dani, shaking her head for a moment. "Something wrong?", Dani asked her as Sam shook her head.
"Yeah, sorry, no, nothing's wrong, just... touching you there gave me a quick flash to that dream I had last night. I barely remember any of it, but I feel like, I don't know, you were a guy in that dream?", Sam said as Dani's eyes widened a bit as she had her own guess before quickly dismissing it.
"Was it me or Danny-boy?", Dani teased as Sam chuckled. "Oh, it may have been an older version of your kid brother. I swear, give that kid a few years, he's going to look like your twin.", Sam said as she walked away.
"Yeah...", Dani gave a nervous laugh. "You're not the first to point that out.". Dani then tried to refocus as she looked at Sam walking away from her to the other room. Sam obviously was a bit older than she last saw her, but her outfit, her whole goth look, was pretty much no change. Dani then quickly remembered what Sam said, confirming that yes, Sam knew her powers.
Dani then realized that Valerie probably knew the same too, and she followed Sam out of both natural memory and still feeling a bit lost, even if she remembered being here tons of times hanging out with Valerie when Sam's busy at her protests or her dark poetry club in her new memories.
Sam is definitely 16, almost 17 in another half year, as she thought in her other memories, Sam was technically a few months older than Danny, through Tucker was probably closest to Danny with a month.
Dani walked into the living room, with Val hooking up the game console, next to preparing the karaoke set, and Dani froze slightly, blushing as Val was even more hot than she recalled in her other memories, not shy to show off her curves as any other teenager, and she gulped as her crush on Val just got intense with the newly memories of hanging out with her at karaoke competitions, the mall, and cheering her on while she wins a touchdown on the football field, all racing through her mind...Wait, football?
Dani thought she had already seen quite enough with changes regarding herself and Danny for the most part; but apparently, with Valerie, well, the wish certainly seemed to have some fun with her. Val was a bit of a tall girl before, but it seems like she added on a few extra inches in height; but that wasn't the eye-opening part as Val had quite a female's bodybuilding physique.
Val was wearing a yellow shirt with some punk rock band on the front of it that was short sleeved and really highlighted her arms. And the familiar orange skirt, a bit longer that went right to her knees, showed off her well-toned legs.
Her body was perfect for football as Dani had a quick flash or two of memories in her head of Valerie playing running back and practically barreling though defenses for scores; much to the resentment of Dash Baxter whose quarterback role probably had to be lessened since Casper High now had a strong run game.
