(Three Siblings)
*April 10th, 1904*
*Land of Ix*
Three years ago, two siblings were torn apart..
In the beautiful Land of Ix, the sounds of sword clashing could be heard in the distance and it was nobody but Flynn and Zorya sparring with each other.
Their movements were agile and strong as they ran across the beautiful grassy fields of their home.
Eventually, the siblings stopped to lie down on the grass.
"You're fast, Zorya. You're going to be a natural one of these days.." Flynn spoke to his sister with a smile as he sat up, staring down at his sister.
Those words made Zorya chuckle, her beautiful black eyes lighting up joyfully as she sat up.
"Thank you, dear brother. I've been training to become a strong warrior, and remember, we're aiming to become a single powerful warrior." Zorya thanked her brother while also bringing up the promise Flynn made years prior.
Flynn nodded at those words as he got up from the grass to stretch his body.
"Yup, we're twins as well. If we can combine our skills and strength, we'll be unstoppable!" Flynn responded joyfully while he looked over at his home.
Flynn and Zorya's home was a nice cottage-style house, it was a two-story home that looked beautiful, and big enough to house a family.
"I'll race home, Zorya. The last one to make it back has to do the dishes tonight!" Flynn spoke cheerfully to his sister as he began to run towards his home.
This prompted Zorya to quickly get up, grabbing her sword as she and Flynn began to race each other back to their home.
"You know I'm faster than you, dear brother. We might be twins; however, I'm much superior when it comes to speed." Zorya spoke to Flynn in a confident voice while she let out a smug smile.
Immediately after, Zorya quickly picked up speed, her running growing much faster as she got closer to home.
"We'll see about that, sis!" Flynn responded in a cocky voice, picking up his speed while doing so.
Both Flynn and Zorya raced like speeding bullets to their home with Zorya in the lead.
However, unknown to them, the sound of the front door opened and unfortunately, Zorya crashed into the girl as both of them fell to the floor, creating a loud thud.
"S-Sister! Are you alright?" Flynn asked Zorya with concern while he gently helped her back on her feet.
"I-I'm fine.." Zorya responded while she rubbed her head in small pain as she turned over to see who she crashed into.
Once Zorya did that, her expression quickly became that of concern.
The person who accidentally crashed into her twin sister, Luna.
Luna shared the same appearance as Zorya; however, the difference is that Luna's hair was always down while Zorya's hair was in a ponytail.
"D-Dear sister! Why are you out of bed? You know your health isn't good. You have another attack.." Zorya spoke to her sister with great concern in her voice as she gently helped Luna back up.
Flynn signed with relief as he followed his twin sisters back to their room and during this, he listened to their conversation.
"I-I know, but I wanted to see you two spar and I was hoping I could join. I'm not gonna.." Luna responded with a small smile as she held her chest to ease the growing pain.
However, she wasn't able to finish her sentence as she quickly felt a sharp pain in her chest, prompting her to wince in pain as she breathed heavily.
"D-Dear sister! See what I told you? Please remain in bed. It's not safe for you.." Zorya spoke with concern in her voice as she gently settled her in bed.
Meanwhile, Flynn quickly grabbed the small medicine and jug of water that was on the counter and quickly gave it to Luna.
"It's also time for your medicine as well. Please take it, Luna. You'll feel better, and Zorya is right, you need to be careful next time." Flynn advised Luna in a serious yet concerned voice.
Hearing those words made Luna sigh as she nodded while taking her medicine.
"I'm tired of being sick all of the time. I-I just want to be free from this burden. I'm sorry if I caused any distress…" Luna responded remorselessly while she looked down, gently twiddling her fingers nervously, hoping her twin siblings would be understanding.
Zorya gently placed her hands on Luna's shoulder to give her comfort and this made Luna smile softly.
"It's okay. I-I know you want to be happy and spend time with us, but please remember to stay in bed, okay?" Zorya advised her sister in a soft voice that this was met with Luna nodding understandably.
Soon after, Flynn spoke up as well, placing his hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, we could play card games together later on, how does that sound? Just the three of us." Flynn offered Luna while looking over at the deck of cards placed on the counter.
This made Luna smile softly as she nodded with enthusiasm on her face, gently placing her hands on her sibling's hands.
"That would be wonderful. Thank you so much. I'll try not to fall asleep after dinner." Luna responded joyfully as she let out a small laugh which was followed by Zorya and Luna laughing alongside her.
"Don't try to fall asleep like you always do, dear sister. I expect you to be awake after dinner." Zorya advised her sister in a playful voice while Luna continued to laugh softly, her soft laughter providing a source of comfort.
"I'll try, dear sister." Luna responded joyfully as she and Zorya continued to laugh amongst each other while Flynn watched with a smile on his face.
*Night*
Later that night, the beautiful moon illuminated the sibling's room as Zorya rose from her bed and she looked over to see Flynn and Luna still asleep.
"I knew they'd be asleep at this hour, those little rascals." Zorya spoke to herself with a smile as she quietly got out of her bed, not wanting to make as much noise as possible.
Once she was out of bed, Zorya carefully walked over towards the door and she exited the room, making her way across the living room as she opened the door to head outside.
The cold night breezed through Zorya, the cold air being a sense of relief for the girl as she walked over to sit on the grass, staring up at the moon.
"Luna, I wish you wouldn't have to suffer…if only.." Zorya whispered to herself in sadness as she continued to look up at the moon.
Zorya continued to stare up at the moon for the next hour, and she found this to be therapeutic.
With a sigh, Zorya got up from the grass and proceeded to make her way back to the house but before she did, she took one last look at the moon.
"Someday, I'll find a way to create a world where nobody won't have to suffer, a world where we all can be at peace, no matter what.." Zorya whispered before entering the home to rest for the night.
*Morning*
*April 11th, 1904*
The next morning arrived and Flynn, Zorya, and Luna sat at the table, waiting for their breakfast to be served by their mother.
The triplets' mother was a tall beautiful woman, roughly in their thirties.
She had long black hair, brown eyes, and a loving smile. Her name was Riona
"Good Morning, my children, did everyone sleep well?" Riona asked her children in a kind voice while she placed the food on the table.
Her question was met with the triplets nodding their heads in confirmation.
"We've slept quite well, mother. I didn't feel any pain in my chest at all, so it was quite a good rest." Luna responded to her mother with a soft smile while Flynn and Zorya nodded in agreement.
Riona smiled at this as she set the food down at the table before sitting down with them to eat.
"That's wonderful to hear, and have you taken your medicine yet?" Riona responded to Luna in a comforting voice while she looked over at her daughter, waiting for an answer.
Luna nodded in confirmation as she smiled warmly.
"I did, mother. The pain shouldn't be a bother today.." Luna responded in a more serious voice, her expression changing as she thought about her illness.
Riona immediately placed a hand of comfort on her daughter's shoulder as she quickly reassured her that things were going to get better.
"Honey, we will get through this. Just now I've scheduled a doctor's appointment, so in the next couple of days, he'll arrive and hopefully find a cure.." Riona reassured her daughter, hoping to provide a sense of hope and comfort to Luna.
Those words made Luna smile hopefully as she nodded.
"I hope so, I feel hopeful now, perhaps I can live a bit longer.." Luna thought to herself with a sense of hope yet concern for herself.
Of course, the next few days passed and the doctor came, and sadly, Luna wasn't able to be cured…
*April 15th, 1904*
The room was quiet with the only sound being the quiet evening breeze as Zorya sat on her bed, playing back on how Luna's condition couldn't be cured.
Her expression was dark yet sad as she clenched her sword.
"Such a cruel world…" Zorya thought to herself in great distress.
The beginning of Zorya's downfall kicks off, the backstory continues in the next chapter!
