I DO NOT OWN TOTAL DRAMA (or mha)
CARRIE
Carrie was currently at home, chatting with her best friend, Devin, online in her room. Devon and his family were out of town on vacation and he made time to reach out to her while he was away. The two of them have always been close, knowing each other since they were very little. One could say they were like brother and sister.
"I'm glad you're having such a good time Devin." Carrie said. "Man, I still can't believe you got to go to Paris of all places. I'm kinda jealous."
"Yeah well, that's what you get for having a dad that can make enough money to send you and your whole family across the world." Devin said, cheekily.
"Lucky you homie." Carrie's eyes lit up. "I have always wanted to go to Paris. You have to tell me all the amazing details right now, I can't wait until you get back."
"Sure thing, give me all the questions you got my friendly neighborhood romance nerd." Carrie laughed and leaned into the screen, giving him a fake mocked expression.
"Ouch, calling your friend a nerd huh?" Carrie rested her chin on her palms. "But yeah, romance nerd fits. Tell me, is Paris as beautiful and romantic as possible."
Carrie tried to seem casual about this, but on the inside she was very excited. Not only was Carrie upset that she didn't go to Paris, but she didn't get to go with the man she loved. That's right, she didn't just like Devin, she was in love with him and has been for a very long time. She first fell in love with him only a few weeks after the two of them became friends when they were little. Of course, he had no idea but it wasn't like she ever told him, she was too scared of losing what they had. So unless he all of a sudden told her he loves her, Carrie wasn't ready to take the chance.
"Oh man, it's gorgeous. Very bright." Devin moved his computer towards the window to show Carrie the outside of his room. Specifically, the Eiffel Tower. He then moved it back to his face. "What's even better is that I get to enjoy it with my girlfriend Shelly."
Carrie's smile suddenly strained the moment Devin said that name, of course he doesn't seem to notice her smile was fake. For obvious reasons, Carrie hated Devin's girlfriend and for less obvious reasons it was because she was the worst. Whenever Devin told her about Shelly, it was always stories that showed her in the worst. Always taking advantage of Devin's kindness, fighting with him over the stupidest of things, and even making him do things that made him uncomfortable. How Carrie wished she could give this Shelly girl a piece of her mind.
"Lucky you," Carrie said, trying to show enthusiasm. "You better show that girl a good time."
"Don't worry, I think I'm doing pretty good so far." Devin laughed. "Having a girl as my best bud has given me a couple of pointers. Anyway, I gotta go, my family and I are eating out soon."
"Okay, I won't keep you then." Carrie held the top of her screen, ready to close her laptop. "Until next time homie."
Carrie closes her laptop and sighs. She lay back down on her bed and stared up at the ceiling, disappointed in herself. If only she could be brave and tell him how she feels, then maybe it would be her in Paris with Devin instead of stupid Shelly. She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice her eyes rolling in the back of her head and then returning to normal. She closed her eyes, resting her hands behind her head, and kept repeating Shelly's name in her head as a way to remind herself who to hate.
What happened next was something weird because when Carrie opened her eyes, she was no longer in her room. She was in a hotel room that was filled with so many accessories and outfits she herself could never afford. Before she could ask herself where she was, she heard a voice followed by the person stepping out of the bathroom. Carrie's eyes widened because it was none other than Shelly, in a bathrobe and talking on the phone.
"Shelly?" Carrie asked, staring at Devin's girlfriend. "What's going on, how did I get here?"
Shelly didn't answer, she just kept talking on the phone. She sat on a chair and looked ahead as if Carrie wasn't in the room.
"Hey, I'm standing right here. Can't you hang up?" Carrie's annoyance was met with Shelly saying "uh huh" multiple times, but she could tell that Shelly wasn't saying that to her.
"I really wish I could join you guys tonight. But my stupid boyfriend wants me to have dinner with his stupid family." She says into the phone.
Carrie felt personally offended hearing this, mouth agape. As Devin's best friend, she was also close to his family as well. This meant that they were like a second family to her. Carrie decided enough was enough, and reached over to yank the phone away from Shelly's ear. But she was shocked to see that her hand passed right through it. She stared down at her hand and then tried grabbing at Shelly, but once again her hand went right through her. Carrie looked around the room and tried to grab something else, but she kept getting the same result.
Suddenly, her eyes opened and she was back in her bedroom. She sat up and was confused, was she just dreaming? It would make sense, except she didn't feel like she fell asleep. Also, why would she dream about Shelly of all people? Carrie just pinched her nose, maybe she was just feeling jealous again.

Quirk: View
By closing her eyes and saying someone's name in her head, she can view where that person is and their surroundings. However, the effect ends when that person leaves the surroundings.
