In a London townhouse Gabriel was browsing for books when a sharp pain in his chest struck and he clutched his chest. An intense headache overtook him and he could feel his head throbbing. An image of a field with an overturned car popped into his head. He snapped his head up and immediately apperated to the field.

He ran over to the car and saw a dead Petunia in the passenger seat and Dudley dead on the ground next to it. "HARRY," he continued running, pulling out his wand and scanning the field. He didn't have to run very far as he saw Harry and Vernon laying next to each other. He noticed the hole in Vernon's stomach and the stillness of the man's stomach. He kneeled next to Harry and checked his pulse. He felt Harry's heart slowly beating. "Thank Merlin you're alive still. I never should have let you go with them."

He flipped Harry onto his back, careful not to further injure the boy. He started moving his wand in an intricate pattern and saying latin words, "Antica salute" He saw Harry's eyes flicker and kept repeating the spell. He heard a pop and assumed he had done something. He put away his wand and rested a hand on Harry's chest and said, "!Possente terra, ascolta la mia chiamata, dammi forza!"

The wind began to whip around and dirt began to cling to Gabriels legs. The sounds of a river in the forest were amplified and Harry seemed to be laying on a cushion of dirt instead of hard dirt. Gabriel took hold of Harry's hand and apperated into the Hogwarts hospital wing.

Poppy, who was in the middle of restocking potions, screamed and dropped a potion when she heard a loud "Crack!" and two bodies appeared on her floor.

"Poppy help! It's Harry. Something has happened and he's been injured."

"I'm coming! Have you been hurt at all Gabriel?" The nurse rushed over to Harry and levitated him onto a bed.

"No Poppy. I need to speak with Dumbledore, I will be back." Gabriel walked out without waiting for a response. Poppy then attended to Harry, she popped his rib back into place and fixed him up. She let him sleep for a couple of hours and went back to restocking potions.

Gabriel did not go to Dumbledore. As soon as he was out of earshot of Poppy he dissaperated to the crash site. He levitated Petunia and Dudley's bodies into a pile with Vernon. He turned around and banished the car and any remaining parts. He lit the bodies on fire and gave them the little ceremony they deserved. When only ashes remained he returned to his townhouse, grabbed a book, and returned to Hogwarts.

When he returned Harry was awake and sitting up, sipping on some water. Harry looked up and then immediately looked back down at his sheets. Gabriel approached the bed and put the book down on the table at the foot of it. He rested a hand on Harry's leg which was immediately pulled away.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to kill them. I just wanted everything to stop. Are you going to send me away now?"

"No, I won't. I know what happened, a fire was lit within the pit of your stomach, and there is no need to apologise. Over this summer I will teach you how to control that burning flame." Tears rolled down Harry's face as he accepted that Gabriel was going to teach him how to control his power.

"Where did you learn those spells? How did you apparate into Hogwarts." Gabriel looked around and threw up a silencing spell.

"I once took a trip to Italy before the war and that's where I learned them. The first spell was ancient and was enough to keep you alive. The second, was also an ancient spell. This one allowed me to draw on the power of the earth itself. The power of the earth was imbued within me and personified tenfold. It gave me the power to penetrate the castle wards and bring you here."

"Thank you for saving me."

"It is no problem to me Harry. You're family. That book on the table is a special book, it has the stories of your ancestors and will allow you to relive them. It is not the grimoire, but it is close. Maybe you can pick a few things up," Harry nodded so Gabriel continued, "I will see you in a couple of hours Harry, I must actually speak with a few people."

Harry out of a piqued curiosity grabbed the book and started to read, "My name is Hardwin Potter. I am 20 years of age, and I come from a long line of mages more powerful than the earth itself. Eight years ago the 'mage fire' lit itself within my stomach. When it first lit I razed an entire town." In a second, almost like a pensive, Harry felt himself being sucked into the book.

"Come on Iolanthe! Let's practice some spells." Harry heard himself say these words but the words were not said of his will, and they didn't sound like his voice. He looked around and saw that he was in an alleyway with a girl. They both looked to be about twelve or thirteen.

"We shouldn't Hardwin. You know what will happen if my father finds us." Harry, or Hardwin, looked at the girl with adoration and responded,

"Please, just a couple." The girl huffed and agreed. Hardwin took out his wand, pointed at a tree and shot off a couple of spells. The two kids smiled at each other and the sound of clapping came from behind them.

"Good job Potter." Hardwin and Iolanthe turned around and saw a very much older Malfoy heir.

"Malfoy." The Malfoy heir smirked and then said,

"Do you know why I'm here? No? It's because my father is currently making a deal with Lord Peverell for his daughter's hand in marriage. For Iolanthe's hand." Both Harry and Hardwin felt disgust and revulsion as the heir was almost 17 years of age. Hardwin stepped in front of Iolanthe and said,

"You will not touch her. Not as long as I live." The Malfoy heir sneered. Harry noted that the sneer was a common thread with the Malfoys. He also felt proud of his ancestor.

"Then you will not live a moment longer. Avada Kadav-" Time stopped, Hardwin felt a flame ignite within the bit of his stomach. His head flicked up and Malfoy flew backwards not being able to finish the incantation. Hardwin felt pure anger at this moment. He was angry that some bastardized sheep herder from France would try to touch Iolanthe.

Anger usually manifests itself with fire. Hardwin thought the same thing and his hands started catching fire and things would randomly burst into flames. Although his hands were practically fireballs he was not harmed. He shot a beam of fire at the Malfoy heir and felt his life drain away. The power was too great and he lost control. Buildings started crumbling and people started screaming. Three people appeared in the alleyway. Iolanthe and her father took off as soon as possible, leaving Hardwin's father and Lord Malfoy. Hardwin's father stunned Hardwin and Harry now saw through Lord Potter. Lord Malfoy and Lord Potter started putting out the fire. Lord Malfoy went up to his son's body and retrieved the heir ring. He swung around and exploded at Lord Potter,

"Your son killed my son! I demand payment!"

"Remember whom you speak to Malfoy. This isn't France anymore. I am your better. I understand your loss, you will be compensated."

"I don't want compensation!" Harry was amazed as Malfoy pulled his wand out and before he could even begin to incante, Lord Potter had already disarmed Malfoy without an ounce of concentration and without a wand. Lord Potter didn't even move.

"You've made the wrong enemy Malfoy." Lord Potter grabbed onto Hardwin and apperated away. Harry was now a floating spirit.

"Curse you Potter! I curse you! For the rest of your bloodline, your heirs must marry more than one woman, but can only have one child with each. This will ostracize your family from the rest of the world." Lord Malfoy broke into hysterics before popping away. Harry looked around at the village that lay in ruins. Bodies littered the street and he could still hear faint screams in the wind. Finally everything faded to black. He awoke back in the hospital wing, greeted with Gabriel arguing with Poppy.

"Poppy he's fine I promise."

"No he is not! I leave for a minute and he's already passed out again and a book on the ground." Gabriel was about to respond when Harry cut in,

"Gabriel, do you have the mage fire?"

"No, I do not. Why do you ask," Harry flashed Poppy a look that Gabriel caught, "Poppy please leave the room now." Poppy gave no resistance and fled into her office.

"Well, because I have it. The book that you gave me had a story written by Hardwin Potter. It was about when the fire lit inside him and how he razed a whole town with rage fueled fire. Then I saw Hardwin's father disarm Lord Malfoy without even moving, he did it with a thought."

"While I do not have the mage fire, I have heard many things, especially from your grandfather, who mastered its power. When you master this ability you can do extraordinary things with only a thought. Poppy said you were magically exhausted so I wouldn't try anything yet."

"How did my grandfather die?"

"While your grandfather was an amazing mage, had incredible powers, and could live for an extensive amount of time, fate had other plans and he died just before your parents." Harry nodded before saying,

"I also saw Lord Malfoy cursing Hardwin's father."

"Ah yes, that. I was going to tell you over the summer but it seems this will have to happen now. I want you to know what he said about ostracizing was wrong. It happens all the time. Even then you could still only marry one woman." Harry let out a relieved breath and said,

"When can we leave and go to your house?"

"Oh, we won't be going to my house, we're going to Potter manor. I'll go check with Poppy." Gabriel walked away and Harry looked at the book at the foot of his bed. He tried to think the book to his hand but nothing happened. He then concentrated and felt the flame. He let it grow a little and thought hard. The book flew to his hand which he deftly caught and started laughing in triumph.
