At the base of the Eiffel Tower, Ladybug and Cat Noir stand off against Hope, who is holding a cane as Emily looks on.
"Right. We know what our enemy truly looks like now, thanks to the Volpina case. We know Hawk Moth uses a cane of a simple design. Most likely he fights using it like a sword, or it possibly has a sword hidden inside of it. He's also around the size of the average male adult, so unless he's a really big teenager then he is an adult. This could also mean he has more experience than both of you. So, consider this simple training. I'll take on the role of Hawk Moth, using this here cane. You'll both be yourselves, of course. Simply take this tag from around my neck and just like Hawk Moth, I'd be depowered" Said Hope, as he tied a butterfly shaped tag around his neck with string. "So it's going to be that simple?" Asked Cat Noir. "Certainly. In fact, this should be even easier. Hawk Moth would probably take every attempt to steal your miraculous in a fight. I won't do such thing, because I actually care about that stuff. Also, no Akumatized Villans to worry about. But, I'll call us off if I believe I have a sense of your skills" Said Hope. "Alright. This could definitely be helpful" Said Ladybug. "I agree. Now, who wants to go first?" Asked Hope.
Cat Noir runs towards Hope and swings his staff at Hope witch he blocks with his Cane before kicking him in the stomach, knocking him back. Cat Noir takes a second swing at Hope but he grabs the end of it with his hand.
"Cat Noir! You use this staff as though it is a sword, but you should understand one thing" Said Hope. "And what is that!?" Asked Cat Noir. "This is ultimately a worse version of a sword. A lack of sharp edges means my hand is just as good as a shield when fighting against your staff. And ultimately, this is a test of strength" Said Hope.
Hope pulled on Cat Noir's staff, causing him to stumble in the direction Hope pulled. Cat Noir then planted his feet and lifted his staff, causing Hope to be lifted into the air, before Hope let go of the staff and kicked Cat Noir's leg out from underneath himself, sending him down to one knee. Hope goes to hit Cat Noir with the Cane but Ladybug throws her Yo-Yo around Hope's Cane, and pulled it out of his hand.
"Your days are numbered, Hawk Moth!" Declared Ladybug. "Give us a second, Cat? Well, I guess going one on one at first would be true. Most likely, he'd split us all up and fight us one on one. Well, let's see how you'd do" Said Hope.
Hope runs towards Ladybug and goes to punch her but is blocked by her Yo-Yo. Hope throws a few more punches that get blocked before suddenly putting one of his feet behind Ladybug, causing her to trip but flip over and land on her feet.
"Good reflexes and flexibility. They'll really come in handy against Hawk Moth" Said Hope, as he picked up his cane. "Thank you" Said Ladybug. "Now then. One on one is done for now. Come at me, both of you" Said Hope. "At once?" Asked Cat Noir. "Possibly. It would just be like a movie if you do it like that" Said Hope. "Ok. Let's go, my lady" Said Cat Noir.
Cat Noir rushes towards Hope, witch Hope stops by pointing his cane at Cat Noir before he bats it away with his staff and swings it downward at Hope, witch he blocks with his cane. Ladybug wraps her Yo-yo around Hope's empty arm and pulls on it, pulling Hope back towards her before Cat Noir swings his staff at Hope again, witch Hope dodged around before he pulls Ladybug towards himself and kicked her into Cat Noir, knocking them both over and unwrapping his arm. Ladybug gets up first and attempts to throw a punch at Hope witch he uses to turn into an Armbar.
"Ah!" Exclaimed Ladybug. "This is a tobi-jūji-gatame. I'd recommend picking up a martial art or two. After all, you don't have the benefit of swinging a big stick around. Wild swinging can never win a fight against a more experienced opponent" Said Hope, as he releases the hold and stands up.
Cat Noir extends his staff into Hope's stomach, knocking him down onto his back, unconscious.
"Well, this was easier then I expected" Said Cat Noir, as he walks towards Hope. "Wait, Cat Noir. He could be up to something" Said Ladybug as she stood up. "Come on, I hit him in the stomach as my staff extended. He'll probably be fine, but he won't wake up for a while" Said Cat Noir, as he kneeled down to grab the Butterfly Tag.
Hope suddenly grabbed Cat Noir's hand and pulls himself up.
"Thus ends the lesson. At this point, if I was Hawk Moth, I would have taken the Miraculous of the Cat and the heroes of Paris would be reduced by a quarter" Said Hope. "But, how?" Asked Cat Noir. "I blocked. With my cane. Just a little playing dead and you were in the palm of my hand. At least, your ring would have been" Said Hope. "Wow… I guess we aren't prepared at all for Hawk Moth" Said Cat Noir. "Soredokoroka. This was a test on the near worst case scenario, and yet if I didn't block then it would have ended in your victory. All we truly know is what Hawk Moth looks like, his weapons and his powers. Perhaps he has no combat experience or even any knowledge on how to fight by himself. He could be frailer then he looks. Overall, I'd say this was a good lesson" Said Hope. "Thanks… it's only a few minutes until school starts" Said Ladybug. "Alright. Get going, you two. Enjoy your day, and figure out how you can improve your techniques" Said Hope.
Cat Noir and Ladybug leave, as Hope walks over to Emily.
"So, how did they do?" Asked Emily. "Well, admittedly. They did better then I was expecting. Had as much skill fighting together as I expected though. The synergy of unreciprocated love" Said Hope. "Well, you have school as well" Said Emily. "Ugh, school. All I've done since starting these adventures is school" Said Hope. "Don't look at me. You choose to go to all these fancy schools" Said Emily. "Well, at least when I come back home I can finish updating the Stand Player" Said Hope. "Well, have fun. Apparently I'm doing some posing for a popular magazine" Said Emily. "I'll be sure to buy it" Said Hope.
Hope walks away from the bench, and towards Collège Françoise Dupont. Sometime later, in Miss Bustier's classroom. Tom Dupain is teaching Marinette and her class how to make pastries.
"I'll let you in on a little secret. I always add cream to the chocolate to make the ganache extra velvety. Then I let infuse for one minute" Said Tom. "I love it when your dad comes to class and gives us pastry lessons!" Wispered Alya, to Marinette. "So does he" Said Marinette. "This is certainly a lot of fun" Said Hope. "Urgh! Do they seriously think I'm going to get my hands dirty, cooking like some maid? If I want a croissant, I'd just make my butler get it for me" Said Chloé. "He's not making croissants, Chloé. Those are macarons" Said Rose. "It's all done with a flick of the wrist. But you mustn't go too fast or you might splash yourself!" Declared Tom. "And soil my Chenal pants? Who's he kidding?" Asked Chloé. "Look at this lovely emulsion" Said Tom, surprising everyone. "It's beautiful!" Declared Rose.
Marinette watches Chloé as she dials someone on her phone and starts whispering.
"Now we need to chill it for half an hour. Marinette?" Asked Tom. "Yes, dad?" Asked Marinette. "Could you put this in the school cafeteria fridge for me, please? In the meantime, I'm going to show your friends how to whip up egg whites!" Declared Tom. "Of course!" Declared Marinette as she took the mixture out of the classroom.
Marinette starts walking out the classroom whilst Tikki pops up.
"Mmm, can I get a taste?" Asked Tikki. "Not yet, Tikki. Control that sweet tooth of yours" Said Marinette.
Tikki giggles but gasps after hearing an alarm going off.
"Hide, Tikki!" Declared Marinette before Tikki hid. "Quietly, students. Single file line, please. Just keep moving" Said Ms Bustier.
The students in the school all leave consecutively and Chloé glares at Marinette.
"Excuse me" Said a student. "I hope it's only a fire drill" Said Marinette.
Marinette groans. Some time later, Mr. Damocles is explaining the false situation to the students.
"So, some smart aleck had the bright idea of calling the fire department" Said Mr. Damocles.
The students gasp shocked
"Somebody amongst us thought it would be funny to waste the fire captain's valuable time" Said Mr. Damocles. "Yes, in fact, if you wouldn't mind I..." Said the Fireman. "Hold on! I want the guilty party to apologize to you" Said Mr. Damocles. "I'm sure it was Chloé. I saw her on her phone right before the alarm went off" Wispered Marinette. "You seeing her make a phone call isn't solid proof" Said Alya. "Yeah, you need something like, video evidence" Said Hope. "Mr. Damocles, sir?" Asked Chloé. "Yes, Miss Bourgeois?" Asked Mr. Damocles. "I saw a student leaving the classroom right before the alarm went off. It must have been her" Said Chloé. "Really? Who was it?" Asked Mr. Damocles. "Let's see if she'll come clean. What do you say, Marinette Dupain-Cheng?" Asked Chloé.
Some of the students gasp in shock/span/p
"Marinette, do you have something to tell the firefighter captain?" Asked Mr. Damocles. "Urgh, wait. Excuse me, sir! It couldn't possibly be Marinette. Why would she disrupt her own father's cooking class?" Asked Adrien. "And I know for a fact that Marinette didn't even have her phone on her when she went out of the classroom" Said Alya. "Mr. Damocles, I must be heading out" Said the fireman. "Just one more second. We're very close to discovering the truth" Said Mr. Damocles, making the fireman sighs. "Oh well, we all know it can't be me!" Declared Chloé. "I'm not gonna let her get away with this. I've gotta tell..." Said Marinette. "Hang on, Marinette. We don't know for sure it was her"Whispered Adrien. "He's right. Let's not stoop to her level" Said Alya.
Chloé snickers.
"I really have to leave now. Just call me if you find out who the prankster is" Said the Fireman, as he turns to leave, but Mr. Damocles stops him. "Fine. Since no one is owning up, the whole school will be punished" Said Mr. Damocles.
The fireman and the students sigh in disappointment.
"Hey now! No need for such inhospitable acts, Mr. Damocles" Said Hope, as he walks towards Mr. Damocles and the Fireman. "Oh? Do you know who called the fire department, Hope?" Asked Mr. Damocles. "I have more than that. I've got footage as well, all here on this" Said Hope, holding up a Hamburger. "You've hidden a camera in a hamburger" Said Mr. Damocles. "Kind of. Here. Let me show you" Said Hope.
Hope holds up the Camera Astroswitch, and opens up a flap in the back of the hamburger.
"What? That was a machine?" Asked Mr. Damocles. "Yeah. I'd recommend never attempting to eat any Hamburgers, Quintuple Hamburgers, French Fries, Shakes, Hot Dogs, Ice Creams or Nuggets that are mine. They could actually be machines, otherwise knows as Foodroids" Said Hope.
Hope puts the Camera Astroswitch into the hamburger, and it transformed into the Burgermeal Foodroid before projecting a holographic video of Chloe on her phone.
"What?!" Exclaimed Chloé. "Is their any audio for this video?" Asked Mr. Damocles. "No, unfortunately. All Burgermeal has is visual recording" Said Hope. "Hum…" Said Mr. Damocles "I'm not so sure my father will react kindly to me being punished with proof as flimsy as this" Said Chloé, as she gets out her phone, preparing to call her dad. "Oh, no! Please, don't disrupt the busy mayor. The whole school is punished… except for Miss Bourgeois!" Declared Mr. Damocles, scared.
The students are chatting amongst themselves, as Hope goes back to his friends.
"That's more like it" Said Chloé. "Now you know how we deal with anyone who misuses the fire department's time" Said Mr. Damocles. "Okay, great! Bye!" Declared the Fireman.
The fireman leaves whilst the students and Mr Damocles leave apart from Chloé and Sabrina who stay still.
"Do you see what just went down?" Asked Alya. "I know. Adrien just talked in my ear!" Declared Marinette. "Seriously, Marinette?" Asked Alya, annoyed. "Well, I tried… what's wrong with her?" Asked Hope.
Some time later, at Collège Françoise Dupont. The students are working on their inclined task, as Chloé yells as Rose.
"Can't you see I'm trying to relax here? Go sweep somewhere else, Cinderella!" Declared Chloé.
Rose whimpers and walks away and Adrien sees that Chloé made Rose cry while he was wiping the windows with a rag. Adrien grunts, angered and scolds Chloé by walking to her.
"Adrikins!" Declared Chloé.
Marinette stares from a distance and grunts, while her face is Red, indicating her fury.
"Of course it was me who called the fire department. So what?" Asked Chloé. "And it doesn't bother you that everyone's being punished because of you?" Asked Adrien. "No. Why would it? They all seem to enjoy getting dirty making cookies. How's it any different than getting dirty, cleaning floors? They should be thanking me if anything" Said Chloé. "Chloé, how long have you and I been friends?" Asked Adrien. "Since we were adorable little tots, Adrikins" Said Chloé. "Well, I'm sorry Chloé, but I can't be friends with someone who treats other people like this. You've gotta be nice to people!" Declared Adrien, disappointed. "Nice?" Asked Chloé. "Yes, nice. It's not that hard" Said Adrien.
Adrien walks away while Chloé thinks about the situation adequately. After School, in Chloé's room. Chloé is in her room thinking about what Adrien had told her, upset.
"Mademoiselle does not look very happy, today" Said Jean, as he lifts up a plate of luxury chocolates and offers them to Chloé.
Chloé grabs the chocolates all at once and eats them, concurrently, and then weeps.
"Adrien says I have to be nice to everyone or he won't be my friend anymore! How can he do this to me, Jean-Michel?" Asked Chloé. "Uh, my name is... hm, never mind. Ah, perhaps Mademoiselle can see comfort with Mr. Cuddly?" Asked Jean.
Chloé is delighted and grabs Mr. Cuddly, her teddy bear, and hugs it
"If you would allow it, Mademoiselle, I could help you keep your friendship with Adrien" Said Jean. "Why would you do a thing like that, Jean-Jacques?" Asked Chloé. "Because that's what being nice is all about, Mademoiselle. I'm sure Mademoiselle can remember when she was a little girl when Mr. Cuddly was always nice to Mademoiselle when she was sad. Mr. Cuddly can teach you how to be kind to others!" Declared Jean.
Chloé starts having flashbacks when Mr. Cuddly used to comfort her as a child, one of which is with her mother
"I remember, Jean-Luc. Adrien's going to see just how nice I can be!" Declared Chloé.
Jean sighs in relief. Meanwhile, in Marinette's room. Alya takes pictures of Rose, Juleka and Mylène who are modeling Marinette's hat designs.
"And these are jewels I designed that you can customize them yourselves" Said Marinette. "Oooh. They are so cute" Said Rose. "Hold on, nobody move" Said Alya.
Alya takes a picture of Rose who is wearing a necklace designed by Marinette.
"This one would make an awesome homepage image for your future blog. Wouldn't it?" Asked Alya.
A notice of a message from Chloe appears on her phone
"Chloé?" Asked Alya. "What does that bratty snob want?" Asked Marinette. "Chloé's inviting me to a party" Said Alya. "Huh, me too!" Declared Rose. "Me too" Said Juleka. "Me too" Said Mylène. "That's so nice of Chloé!" Declared Rose. "Chloé and nice in the same sentence? Can't be her" Said Marinette. "Maybe somebody hacked her phone then" Said Mylène. "I haven't received a text" Said Marinette, looking at her phone. "Then that means it must be from Chloé!" Declared Alya, making the girls laugh.
Meanwhile, in Chloé's room. Chloé is skeptical on sending an invitation to Marinette.
"Urgh! The baker girl as well?" Asked Chloé. "It's what Mr. Cuddly would do, yes" Said Jean.
Chloé sighs in defeat and sends an invite to Marinette. Back in Marinette's room. Marinette receievs the invitation to Chloé's party.
"Hm? Ewww, She invited me!" Declared Marinette. "Awesome! This will be so much fun!" Declared Rose. "Ok, but there's no way she sent an invitation to Hope, right?" Asked Marinette, as she started to text Hope.
Meanwhile, in Hope's House. Hope is watching the Stand Player being updated before his phone vibrates. Sighing, Hope picks up his phone and reads it.
"Has Chloé texted you?" Texted Marinette. "Yes, just after the attack of the Bubbler. She texted me her number and said, and I copy and paste, You were so amazing helping Ladybug! Let's totally be friends! It reaks of fake" Texted Hope. "No, texted you about a party" Texted Marinette. "Yeah. Like she'd invite me after today" Texted Hope.
Meanwhile, in Chloé's room. Chloé is unwilling to send an invitation to Hope.
"Must I really send an invitation to him!?" Asked Chloé. "Mr. Cuddly forgives all transgressions" Said Jean.
Chloé sighs in defeat and sends an invite to Hope. Back in Hope's home. Hope receievs the invitation to Chloé's party.
"Uh… I have bad news" Texted Hope. "Did you get her invite?" Texted Marinette. "Yes, coming over immediately" Texted Hope, as he appears in Marinette's Room. "Hey Hope" Said Alya. "Hi! So, do you think it's some kinda Akuma related incident?" Asked Hope. "I'm not sure. Something is definitely wrong" Said Marinette. "She probably wants to say sorry for this morning. Maybe's she's nice. Very, very, deep down" Said Mylène. "Ok, if Chloe is being nice, then maybe Marinette, at best. But there's no way I could have gotten one" Said Hope. "Chloé? No, she's the exact opposite of nice! Whatever, you guys can go but don't count me in" Said Marinette. "It's Nino. He's going to the party with Adrien" Said Alya.
Marinette screams in shock.
"O-okay, yes, you guys are right! We should totally give Chloé one more chance!" Declared Marinette. "… I guess I'll be going as well…" Said Hope.
Alya sighs and Marinette giggles. Meanwhile, in Hawk Moth's lair. Hawk Moth's window screen opens.
"A party being thrown by the most spiteful girl in all of Paris? Such a fertile breeding ground for negative emotions! Fly away, my evil akuma! Finding a victim to evilize should be a piece of cake!" Declared Hawk Moth, as he turns a butterfly into an akuma.
At Night, in the Le Grand Paris. Chloé is hosting a party. The guests are all cheering.
"Mademoiselle should go downstairs and greet her guests in a welcoming manner with a hug and a kiss" Said Jean. "Uh, you're kidding, Jean-Claude. You really expect me to let their cheeks touch mine?" Asked Chloé. "Well, that's what Mr. Cuddly would do. This way, you will prove to your good friend, Adrien that you really are nice" Said Jean.
Meanwhile, Marinette, Hope, Alya, Rose, Mylène and Juleka arrive at the party.
"This whole party thing is way weird" Said Marinette. "Oh yeah, it's all sorts of weird. Well, I'm going to see just how the drinks are here" Said Hope, as he walks over to the bar section. "Well, I've known Chloé for a long time. She can be really cool, sometimes!" Said Adrien, as he walked over to the group.
Chloé leaps on to Adrien's back
"Adrikins! What do you think of me hosting this party? Really nice of me, right?" Asked Chloe, as she greets Adrien by kissing him on the cheeks. "It's awesome, Chloé!" Declared Adrien. "Hey, there!" Declared Rose, who greets Chloé by kissing her on the cheeks. "Hey, Chloé" Said Kim, who also kisses her on the cheeks. "Thanks for the invite, Chloé" Said Max, as he kisses her on the cheeks.
Marinette and Chloé gasp as they unexpectedly encounter each other whilst Jean waves Mr. Cuddly to Chloé and Marinette looks at Adrien. They both kiss each other on the cheeks, and everyone gasps in shock and they both grunt and spit.
"I should have got you guys on video!" Declared Alya. "Don't rub it in" Said Marinette.
After some settling in, Nino is controlling the DJ Booth and everyone is enjoying themselves.
"I did it. Adrien seems happy. Are we done now?" Asked Chloé. "If I may be so bold, in order to reaffirm Adrien of her kindness, Mademoiselle might go and check that her guests are having a good time" Said Jean. "And why would I do that, Jean-Marc?" Asked Chloé. "Because that's what Mr. Cuddly would do" Said Jean.
Chloé shoves Mr. Cuddly out of sight, making sure no one saw
"Alright! Fine, I get it!" Declared Chloé, as she grunts and walks off.
Chloé walks up to Nathaniel, only to hear him scream out of shock after she slams her hands on the counter behind him.
"Having a good time?" Asked Chloé. "Whoa! All this dancing's made me thirsty. Do you know where the ice cubes are?" Asked Mylène. "How should I know? I'm not your servant! Go and find them yourself! And if you're so hot, why don't you take off your fake sheep skin sweater? Throw it in the trash where it belongs!" Shouted Chloé.
Mylène gasps, as Hawk Moth reacts in his lair.
"I knew I wouldn't have to wait very long!" Declared Hawk Moth.
Back at the party, the Akuma flies close to Mylène.
"Ahem!" Coughed Jean, holding up Mr. Cuddly.
Chloé looks at Jean and Adrien and chuckles nervously while she pats Mylene's head
"I'm totally joking. I love mutton! I'll get you those ice cubes!" Declared Chloé, as she goes to bring ice for Mylene's Drink.
Mylène and Adrien sigh in relief whilst the Akuma flies off away from her, to Hawk Moth's disproval.
"What are you doing, Miss Bourgeois? Where's that natural cruelty I'm counting on?" Asked Hawk Moth, shocked and confused.
Back at the Party, Marinette and Alya discuss Chloé
"This BFF act she's doing is just one big charade. She's just doing it to please Adrien" Said Marinette. "Ahem. How funny. That reminds me of a girl who didn't want to go to a party until she heard she heard Adrien would be there" Said Alya. "Please don't compare me to Chloé" Said Marinette.
Chloé dumps the Ice cubes to Mylène's glass in an impertinent manner and Mylène and Nathaniel gasp. The next scene consists of Kim requesting Nino to play slow dancing music, before requesting to dance with Chloé.
"Chloé, how about a dance with an awesome guy?" Asked Kim. "I'd love it! Where is he?" Asked Chloé.
Kim looks down and sighs rejectedly whilst the akuma flies close to him. Jean, once again, waves her teddy bear to her.
"Oh! Here is, right in front of me" Said Chloé.
Kim sighs in relief. As the Akuma flies away from him, Hawk Moth grunts from anger and disappointment. In the next scene, Chloé is dancing with Kim and waves at Adrien and he is proud of her for being kind and he gave her a thumbs up and a wink, as Alya tells Marinette to ask for a dance.
"Go over and ask him, girl" Said Alya. "Uh, what?! Adrien?! No, you're crazy" Said Marinette.
Alya shoves Marinette towards Adrien. They both gasp after Marinette accidentally bumps into Adrien.
"Hey, Marinette. Wanna dance?" Asked Adrien. "I, uh..." Said Marinette.
Adrien grabs Marinette's wrist and takes her to the dance floor. Marinette and Adrien start slow dancing with each other around the room. Marinette is shocked that she is finally going to spend her day with Adrien by dancing with him.
"What?! I am speechless!" Declared Chloé, shocked. "Thanks! You're a pretty good dancer, yourself" Said Kim.
Chloé grunts in anger and jealousy. Jean continues waving Chloé's teddy bear at her, calming her down.
"See? Chloé's on her best behavior tonight" Said Adrien.
Alya interrupts as she puts Marinette's hands on top of Adrien's shoulders and puts his hands on her waist and then continues slow dancing with Nino. However, they both remain dancing with each other. Marinette blushes while she and Adrien are dancing. Chloe pushed Kim aside and she walks angrily to Marinette and Adrien but Jean pops up between them and Chloé.
"I'm not letting her dance with Adrien under my roof!" Declared Chloé. "Hey, this song's not over yet!" Yelled Kim. "If I re-say, Mademoiselle, or to..." Said Jean. "Move, Jean-Jacques!" Shouted Chloé.
Jean pulls out Mr. Cuddly and speaks with a squeaky voice and Marinette, Adrien and everyone else sees Chloé's teddy bear.
"Oh, please, Chloé, dear! You've been such a good little girl! Mr. Cuddly is so very proud..." Said Jean.
Chloé tries to hide her teddy bear from anyone noticing.
"Is that your teddy bear, Chloé?" Asked Kim.
Everyone starts laughing at Chloé's teddy bear, before Chloé pulls Jean into the kitchen and starts yelling at him in the kitchen.
"I've had it with your stupid teddy bear, your stupid advice, and you, Jean, whatever your stupid name is!" Yelled Chloé. "But, Mademoiselle, I was only trying to help" Said Jean. "There's no more Mademoiselle, no more help, no more anything! You are fired! Now get out!" Yelled Chloé.
Chloé stomps out of the kitchen in anger, upsetting her butler.
"Ah, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed" Said Hawk Moth, from his lair.
The akuma flies in and is absorbed into Chloe's teddy bear, which Jean is holding. Jean looks up with an angry face and a glowing pink butterfly symbol.
"Hello, Despair Bear. I am Hawk Moth. You've always been such a good influence on Chloé, but now, you get to be a bad influence for everyone, and a very evil one at that" Said Hawk Moth. "With great pleasure, sir!" Declared Jean.
Jean is transformed into Despair Bear by the Akuma, who now is a bear controlling supervillain.
"You've been very naughty, Chloékins! And Despair Bear is not proud of you. The time has come to make you pay!" Declared Despair Bear.
Meanwhile, in the party. Everyone is dancing. Despair Bear leaves the kitchen and starts searching for a victim to taunt Chloé. He then finds Sabrina and attaches himself on to her leg, making Sabrina mind controlled by him.
"Come here, Chloé" Said Sabrina. "Sabrina? What's gotten into you?" Asked Chloé. "Let me brush your hair! I promise I won't hurt you!" Declared Sabrina. "Ahh! Somebody stop her!" Declared Chloé.
Sabrina starts chasing Chloé and they ran in between Marinette and Adrien. Chloé then runs next to the bar, where Hope uses his katana to trip up Sabrina, making her fall over.
"Well, I suppose I do have some good news for today. It appears that my Akumatization tracker works, seeing as how it pinpointed an Akumatization happening in the kitchen just about… a minute ago and notified me" Said Hope. "My my. What kind of man does something like that!?" Asked Sabrina, as she stood up. "Oh, I do apologise. But please explain, what kind of an Akumatization is this? You barely changed" Said Hope.
Adrien and Marinette see the commotion.
"Uh, I think I had too much orange juice. I gotta go. See ya" Said Marinette. "No problem. I have something to do, anyway. See ya" Said Adrien.
Marinette and Adrien both leave discreetly, as Despair Bear slips off of Sabrina and grabs onto Kim's leg. Chloé clings onto Hope's arm.
"Chloé?" Asked Sabrina. "Get off of my arm" Said Hope. "Don't you come near me!" Declared Chloé. "Why? What's going on?" Asked Sabrina. "Hope, do something!" Declared Chloé. "Why? She doesn't seem to be Akumatized anymore" Said Hope. "How about me?" Asked Kim, reaching out for Chloé.
Chloé screams. Meanwhile, Marinette runs to a staircase and Tikki pops up.
"I... I've gotta transform, Tikki. Too bad I had to stop dancing with Adrien. It felt like I was dancing on a little cloud. I'm out of body experience. It was like..." Said Marinette. "Marinette, focus" Said Tikki, as people scream in the background. "Okay, back down to Earth. Tikki, spots on! Ha!" Declared Marinette.
Marinette transforms into Ladybug. Meanwhile, back at the party, Kim throws a punch at Hope witch Hope blocks with his elbow before hitting Kim back with the same arm, making him stumble backwards.
"I don't know what's gotten into you Kim, but I'm going to snap you out of it" Said Hope. "Why would you defend her? She's a terrible person!" Yelled Kim. "So negative. There's a lot more people than Chloé here" Said Hope.
Kim attempts to hit Hope again but Hope kicks Kim in the shin witch sends Dispair Bear flying into the crowd. Hope then goes to kick Kim before her speaks up.
"Woah! Woah! Hey! Hope, what are you doing?" Asked Kim. "Huh? Kim, what happened to you?" Asked Hope. "I don't know. I felt something on my leg" Said Kim. "So then… why's everyone…" Said Hope.
Despair Bear attempts to attach itself to Hope, but Ladybug uses her yo-yo and ties it around Hope's leg and pulls him down into a ball pit. Hope resurfaces and spits out a ball out of his mouth, before Chloé is also pulled into the ball pit.
"About time, what took you so long?" Asked Chloé. "Bigger question. What or who is Akumatized, and what are they doing?" Asked Hope.
Despair Bear leaps at Hope's face but Cat Noir uses his baton and bats Despair Bear back into the crowd.
"I'm guessing that that's the Villain" Said Cat Noir. "We're fighting a teddy bear? I'm almost afraid to ask who got Akumatized" Said Hope. "Uh, ha ha…" Muttered Chloé. "Look out!" Yelled a panicked person. "Move aside. All of you!" Declared Ladybug. "Look out!" Yelled Cat Noir, as he pulls Ladybug into the ball pit before a chair hits the wall behind where she was. "Getting cramp in here!" Declared Hope.
A mind-controlled Max is about to throw a chair on Ladybug, Cat Noir, Hope and Chloé.
"How about a little game..." Said Max. "Of flying chairs?" Asked Despair Bear. "Ok, everyone out of the ball pit!" Declared Hope.
Hope jumps out of the ball pit as Max throws the chair. Hope catches the chair and throws it back at Max's legs, knocking him over as Despair Bear jumps away from Max. Ladybug and Car Noir exit the ball pit and take up defensive positions. Alya, who is now mind-controlled, then approaches Ladybug and tries to attack her but Ladybug swiftly gets out of Alya's arms and restrains her.
"Huh? Ladybug, what happened?" Asked Alya. "Oh, this isn't going to be grating soon" Said Hope. "Why haven't you transformed yet?" Asked Cat Noir. "Well, it would be a little overkill wouldn't it? Not exactly fighting a giant or normal sized person. It's small. Also I'm more help like this" Said Hope.
Mind-controlled Ivan is about to throw a coffee table on Ladybug, Hope and Cat Noir but Cat Noir stops him before he could do so.
"Huh, Cat Noir?" Asked Ivan. "Huh? Where'd he go?" Asked Cat Noir. "Damm, he's too fast. I need him to stay attached to someone" Said Hope
Ladybug and Hope are looking around the room and everyone gasps. Mind-controlled Cat Noir then grabs Ladybug's hand.
"Uh, what are you doing? Oh, no!" Declared Ladybug. "Despair Bear, if you want to continue playing this game, give me Ladybug's Miraculous!" Declared Hawk Moth. "Oh, pretty earrings" Said Despair Bear. "Gotcha!" Declared Hope.
Hope fired his revolver once at Despair Bear, and Despair Bear was suddenly stuck to Cat Noir via glue. Hope then went around the room, teleporting people back to their homes.
"What did you…" Said Cat Noir. "I stuck you to Cat Noir. Well, that and sent everyone home so that even if you do somehow get unstuck, you'd have some very limited options" Said Hope. "You didn't send me home!" Yelled Chloé. "You are home" Said Hope.
Cat Noir fights Ladybug and Hope. Cat Noir swings his stick at Hope, who blocks it with one of his katanas before Ladybug pulls the stick out of his hands.
"Cat Noir, it's me! Stop it!" Declared Ladybug. "I think as long as him and Despair Bear are connected the bear is in control" Said Hope. "And you stuck them together!?" Asked Ladybug, incredulous. "You know, I'm not doing my best detective work today!" Declared Hope.
Cat Noir attempts to kick Ladybug but Hope grabbed Cat Noir's leg as Ladybug took Cat Noir's arm before they both locked in submission manoeuvres on Cat Noir, with Hope applying a heel hook on Cat Noir's leg as Ladybug locked in a armbar. Cat Noir struggles for a few seconds, before he pulls his arm out of Ladybug's grip.
"Cataclysm!" Declared Cat Noir.
Cat Noir tries to use Cataclysm on Hope, but Chloé throws a ball at his hand before he could touch Hope.
"Paws off, kitty!" Declared Chloé, before Hope released his hold on Cat Noir and rolled away from him. "Thank you, Chloé" Said Hope. "Hey, I was really nice, just then. Did you see? No?" Asked Chloé, shocking Ladybug and Hope. "Eh?… Chloé… Kindness is without validation. Please, remember this. Ladybug, let's get to ending this" Said Hope. "Right. Lucky Charm! A fork?" Asked Ladybug, as a fork appears. "You little brats!" Declared Despair Bear.
Cat Noir chases Ladybug and Hope up the stairs.
"They're crazy, they're never going to make it without me" Said Chloé.
Cat Noir continues chasing Ladybug and Hope until they arrive at the Le Grand Paris rooftop. Ladybug looks around for clues and figures out a plan on how to defeat Despair Bear
"Okay!" Declared Ladybug. "What do you need me to do?" Asked Hope. "Be ready" Said Ladybug.
Ladybug fights Cat Noir, as Hope backs away. Chloé arrives at the top of the stairs, before Ladybug attaches her yo-yo on to Despair Bear's puppet's head discreetly.
"Naughty, naughty, Ladybug!" Declared Despair Bear.
Ladybug attaches the fork on to a Table Umbrella.
"Hope, would you be so kind?" Asked Ladybug.
Ladybug and Cat Noir both grunt as they continue fighting each other.
"I see! Okay, Ladybug!" Declared Hope.
Hope spins the Table Umbrella as the Yo-yo string attached to the Puppet head starts to unravel Despair Bear's body.
"No! Stop! What's happening?" Asked Despair Bear. "Ladybug?… What are you doing?" Asked Cat Noir. "Oh, nothing. Just saving your skin with the help of our sidekick" Said Ladybug. "And here I thought this was an even work partnership" Said Hope. "Give me your Miraculous! You haven't defeated me, yet!" Declared Despair Bear. "And up you go" Said Hope, as he picked up Despair Bear.
Ladybug detaches the string from the villain's puppet's head and the akuma flies out.
"No more evildoing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize! Gotcha! Bye bye, little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!" Declared Ladybug, as she catches the akuma with her yo-yo and releases the akuma, turning it into a normal butterfly.
Ladybug throws the Lucky Charm into the air and turns everything back to normal. Despair Bear turns back into Jean.
"Right. I'm going to go and get the party guests back here. A good party shouldn't be wasted" Said Hope, as he teleported away.
Ladybug and Cat Noir both gasp as their Miraculous give warning beeps.
"Gotta get going!" Declared Cat Noir. "Yeah, me too!" Declared Ladybug as Cat Noir and Ladybug swung away. "Jean-Jones! Are you ok?" Asked Chloé. "I'm fine now, Mademoiselle" Said Jean. "Jean… I'm… I'm suddenly feeling very generous. I think that thing of yours about being nice might actually make some sense. I've decided to keep you on, after all!" Said Chloé. "… I understand. Mademoiselle is so kind" Said Jean. "Ok. I've got an idea that will help everyone. They mustn't miss what's coming up next!" Said Chloe, as she calls someone on her phone.
Meanwhile, in Hawk Moth's lair. Hawk Moth is infuriated with his defeat.
"Ladybug, if you haven't been helped, defeating you would have been child's play. So you better watch out. Your day of devastation is coming soon!" Declared Hawk Moth, as his lair window closes.
Back at the Le Grand Paris. Everyone is baking macaroons with Tom.
"Great job, kids. You've done some really good work" Said Tom. "That was a great idea of inviting Marinette's dad!" Declared Adrien. "I know. This way, no one can be mad at me for calling the fire department. I'm really nice now, did you notice, Adrikins?" Asked Chloé. "I'm proud of you, Chloé. I think you've proven that you're capable of making an effort to be nicer to everyone" Said Adrien. "Aww, Adrikins! So we'll always be best friends, forever? Pinky swear?" Asked Chloé. "Pinky swear!" Said Adrien. "I hope one day you'll be able to truly be nicer, Chloe" Said Hope.
Chloé exhales and saunters off
"She'll never change!" Exclaimed Marinette. "Perhaps. But nobody changes if one can't believe in them" Said Hope.
Marinette giggles as she notices Adrien. Adrien leans in close to Marinette.
"May I?" Asked Adrien. "Uh, Yeah! Sure! I mean... Uh, what?" Asked Marinette. "Have a macaron!" Declared Adrien. "I'll leave you two alone" Said Hope, as he walked away. "Oh, Yes, of course" Said Marinette.
Marinette accidentally drops the plates of macarons on the floor but Adrien manages to catch one.
"Oh, sorry, I'm so clumsy!" Declared Marinette. "It's okay. Wow, this is really good. Your baking is good as your dancing" Said Adrien, as he eats the macaron.
Marinette sighs in relief as Adrien walks away while eating a macaron, as Sabrina, Max and Kim confront Hope in the background for various injuries.
