"Sarena, you're doing great!" Ash cheered, his voice filled with encouragement. Pikachu, Kirlia, and Eilie joined in, their cheers echoing through Route 1 just outside Nuvema Town.
Sarena was locked in her first-ever trainer battle—one that wasn't against Ash. Her eyes were focused, her heart racing.
"Patrat, use Bite!" the opposing trainer commanded.
"Snivy, just like we practiced!" Sarena called out confidently.
The Patrat lunged, its sharp teeth gleaming as it aimed for Snivy's soft flesh. But Snivy merely smirked, her smug expression unshaken. Two vines shot out from her body, wrapping around the rat Pokémon mid-air.
"Now, Leer!" Sarena ordered.
Snivy's eyes flashed, causing Patrat to falter as its defenses dropped. With a powerful motion, Snivy slammed Patrat into the ground, the impact sending dust flying.
As the dust settled, it became clear—Patrat had fallen unconscious.
"Yes! You did it!" Ash cheered, his excitement contagious. He rushed over to Sarena, his smile wide as her Snivy ran back to her, gracefully crawling onto her shoulder.
The opposing trainer, a boy who looked about 12 or 13 years old, walked over. He had scruffy brown hair and wore a simple red cap, his clothes dusty from the battle. Despite his defeat, he offered Sarena a nod of respect as he recalled his Patrat.
"That was a great battle," he said, a small smile forming. "You and your Snivy are impressive for your first time."
Sarena beamed, her heart still racing with the thrill of her first victory. "Thanks! We've been practicing hard."
"Here's your 80 PD, as we agreed!" The boy handed Sarena the money, and she accepted it with a smile, happily showing it to Ash.
"Hey, can I get your Xtransceiver or video phone number?" the boy asked with a polite smile, but the question instantly annoyed Ash for some reason.
Without hesitation, Ash stepped between Sarena and the boy. "No, she doesn't want to give you her number. Actually, we've got something important to do!" he said firmly, taking Sarena's hand and leading her away. His Pokémon followed close behind, all giggling at Ash's sudden protectiveness.
"Man, you've got one protective brother!" the trainer called out, causing Ash to grumble even more. "I'm her best friend, not her brother."
Sarena giggled softly at Ash's reaction, clearly amused by the whole situation.
"So, what was that all about?" she asked with a teasing smile once they were far from the trainer. Eilie landed on Ash's free hand and transformed into a sleek red-and-black bracelet with a white gem, just above his Z-Ring.
"That was hilarious!" Pikachu added with a chuckle as he leapt onto Ash's shoulder.
Ash, his face slightly flushed, raised his voice a bit too loudly. "Nothing! Come on, let's keep moving!" He tried to brush it off, clearly wanting to change the subject.
Sarena giggled again, nodding in agreement, while Pikachu made a mental note to tease Ash with this newfound ammunition.
The two trainers and their Pokémon walked in a comfortable silence until Ash, feeling his embarrassment fade, spoke up. "So, how did you like battling?"
At his question, Sarena's face scrunched up in a thoughtful expression. "Well... it was nice to battle, but... I feel a bit conflicted."
Ash nodded, understanding her hesitation. "I get it. It doesn't feel like battling is something you can devote your entire life to, but you can still enjoy it casually."
Sarena chuckled, her expression brightening. "Sometimes I think you know me better than I know myself."
"But yeah, you're right! That's exactly how I feel!" she added.
"Heh, who knows? We might just know each other better than we know ourselves," Ash said, laughing lightly at the idea.
"Hey, you might be on to something!" Sarena replied, and they both erupted into laughter, the moment lightening their spirits.
"It doesn't matter if it's battling or anything else you want to do; I'll always be there for you," Ash said softly, his voice sincere as his laughter faded. He looked at Sarena with warm, encouraging eyes, and she felt her heart flutter a little.
Sarena smiled back, her cheeks slightly rosy. "Yeah, never give up until it's over," she replied, her voice bright and filled with determination. In that moment, she felt like they were sharing something special—an unbreakable bond of friendship.
Just then, Pikachu chimed in with a playful grin. "Come on, you two! Stop being all lovey-dovey already! I think we've given you enough time!"
Snivy nodded, giving a teasing look. Ash's face turned a deep shade of red at Pikachu's comment, and he quickly turned away, speed-walking ahead as if to escape the teasing.
Sarena giggled, glancing between Ash and Pikachu. "What's his problem?" she asked, her laughter bubbling up as she ran to catch up with him, not realizing what Pikachu had said.
"He's just a little shy!" Pikachu said with a chuckle, perched comfortably on Ash's shoulder.
Sarena smiled to herself, enjoying the playful banter. As she reached Ash's side, she nudged him playfully. "You know, it's okay to be a little embarrassed sometimes," she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
Ash glanced at her, his cheeks still a bit pink, and replied with a shy smile, "Yeah, I guess."
They walked together, the atmosphere light and cheerful, both feeling the warmth of their friendship grow even stronger.
Ash and Sarena were quietly chatting when he suddenly heard something—a faint, pained cry of a wild Pokémon.
Without a word, Ash exchanged a look with Pikachu and Kirlia, then quickly grabbed Sarena's hand. He brought a finger to his lips, signaling for her to stay quiet. Slowly, they crept into a nearby bush, making sure not to make any noise.
Peeking through the leaves, they saw a grim scene unfolding. A Purrloin crouched beside a severely injured Pidove, its sharp yellow eyes gleaming with predatory hunger. The dark purple fur along its spine bristled as it watched the helpless bird struggle. Pidove's wings were bent at unnatural angles—one twisted backward, the other hanging limp and useless. Blood oozed from deep scratch marks all over its body, staining the ground beneath it. The Pidove's labored breaths and trembling form seemed to only excite the Purrloin more as it licked its lips, ready to pounce and finish its meal.
Sarena gasped softly, but Ash quickly covered her mouth with his hand. "Sarena, don't interrupt," he whispered, his voice low but firm. "Let it finish eating. It won't be on guard after that, and we can make our move."
He waited for her response, but instead of the expected nod, he felt something wet on his palm. His eyes blinked in confusion before looking at her, only to find Sarena's eyes twinkling with mischief.
"You… licked me?" Ash asked, incredulous, pulling his hand back and staring at the wet spot on his palm.
Sarena giggled quietly. "What did you expect? You can't exactly expect me to talk with my mouth covered!" she teased, smiling innocently.
Ash gave her an exasperated look, wiping his hand on his shirt. "You're impossible," he muttered, though the corner of his lips tugged upward.
The weak cries of the flying pokemon slowly died down and the dark type started it's feast.
The weak cries of the Pidove slowly faded into silence, its fragile body finally succumbing to its injuries. With no more resistance, the Purrloin pounced, sinking its sharp teeth into the bird Pokémon's limp form. The dark type began its feast, its predatory instincts taking over as it tore into the flesh, completely absorbed in the moment.
Ash watched with narrowed eyes, his hand still resting on Sarena's shoulder, holding her back. "Now's your chance. It's distracted," he whispered, his tone serious.
Sarena's playful demeanor shifted into quiet determination as she prepared to catch her first Pokémon.
"Snivy, let's go!" she called out, her voice steady.
Snivy darted forward, tackling the Purrloin away from its half-eaten prey. The Dark-type yowled in pain, quickly turning to fury as it bared its blood-stained fangs and claws. Purrloin's sharp yellow eyes locked onto Snivy, its body tensing in warning.
Stepping out from the bushes, Sarena met Purrloin's hostile gaze. "Snivy, use Leer and Vine Whip!"
Snivy's eyes flashed as she unleashed a powerful Leer, causing Purrloin to flinch as its defenses dropped. Without missing a beat, Snivy's vines lashed out, coiling around the Dark-type and flinging it high into the air.
"Now, pull it in and hit it with Tackle!" Sarena commanded, her voice filled with excitement.
Snivy's vines shot up once more, catching the airborne Purrloin and yanking it down with incredible speed. As the Purrloin came barreling toward her, Snivy lowered her head and charged forward. Their heads collided with a resounding smack, turning the Tackle into a powerful headbutt.
The Purrloin tumbled across the ground, groaning in pain as it clutched its head. It snarled in frustration, its body trembling from the impact, but it was clearly struggling to stay on its feet.
Sarena's heart raced—this was her chance. With a determined look, she pulled out a Pokéball and threw it at the weakened Purrloin. In a flash of light, the feline Pokémon was sucked into the ball. It hit the ground with a soft thud, the button glowing red as it shook once, twice… and then—ding! Purrloin was captured.
Her eyes widened in surprise and joy. Before she could fully process what had happened, Ash let out a loud cheer, grabbing her from behind and spinning her around in excitement. His laughter was infectious, and as Sarena realized she had just caught her first Pokémon, she too burst into laughter, overwhelmed by sheer joy.
When Ash finally set her down, Sarena turned and wrapped her arms around him in a proper hug. "I did it!" she whispered, her voice filled with disbelief and happiness.
Ash smiled warmly, giving her a gentle squeeze. "You really did! I knew you could."
"Don't you think they're being a bit too much?" Pikachu whispered to Kirlia, glancing at Ash and Sarena still caught up in the excitement.
Kirlia gave a wise nod. "I think Mom and Dad should be able to do what they want."
Pikachu barely managed to stifle a laugh, eyes widening in amusement. "Mom? Oh, this is gonna be perfect blackmail material for Ash." He grinned mischievously, already plotting how to use Kirlia's innocent comment to tease his trainer later.
Kirlia tilted her head, not fully understanding Pikachu's reaction but content with her observation.
"That was impressive!" A girl said as she jumped out of the woods.
She has long, thick purple hair styled into a large, wild ponytail that cascades down her back, with bangs framing her face. Her skin is a warm brown tone, and her eyes are a bright amber color, full of energy and determination. She wears a pink and white tunic with yellow accents, along with matching pink leggings and simple shoes. A small tooth sticks out when she smiles, adding to her playful and adventurous appearance. Her overall look gives off a natural, free-spirited vibe.
"Hello I'm Iris!" The girl now known as Iris said.
"I'm Ash and this is my friend Sarena but tell this...why were you spying on us, you were following us for fifteen minutes." Ash said his tone cold.
"Oh you knew?"
"Huh?" Both girls exclaimed in surprise.
Ash pointing at Pikachu whose ears and nose twitched.
"Can you explain, please?" Ash asked politely, though his tone was anything but.
"Calm down, I'm not here to kill you or anything, geez!" Iris replied, a bead of sweat forming on her brow. "I saw you battling that guy and got curious, so I followed you. When I noticed you heading toward that Purrloin, I was about to step in and help, thinking you rookies needed it, but you handled things just fine." She shrugged. "Anyway, I'll be going now." She turned to leave.
"Wait!" Ash called out, making her stop in her tracks. "You called us rookies, so you must be an experienced trainer. I want to see what my Kirlia can do. Battle me! You can decide the reward."
Though partially a lie—he had just received a mission to battle another trainer—Ash was also eager to test Kirlia's strength.
."Sorry, but I don't have any Pokémon that can fight right now," Iris said apologetically.
"Oh? So you're not a real Pokémon trainer, then?" Ash smirked, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Did you run away from elementary school? Or are you just too weak and scared to face a 'lowly rookie' like me?" He stepped closer, his smirk widening. "Honestly, it's a bit sad. You talk big, but when it comes down to it, you're probably afraid your Pokémon couldn't even take one hit from my Kirlia. I guess it's easier to watch from the sidelines, huh?"
"Ash, that... that was a good one," Serena said, nodding in appreciation. She could definitely appreciate a good insult or two.
"Why, you—! I thought you were the good guys, but now I see you're just a bunch of jerk faces!" Iris retorted, pulling a Poké Ball from nowhere. "Go, Excadrill!" She threw the Poké Ball, and a closed Excadrill emerged. It appeared as a compact, drill-like creature with a smooth, metallic sheen, primarily dark gray and silver. Its large, conical drill extended outward, tapering to a sharp point, while its sturdy limbs ended in claw-like hands. The Pokémon's eyes were hidden, adding to its robust appearance.
"Kirlia, I choose you!" Ash called out and his shiny psychic floated over and landed in front of her trainer.
"...So who's attacking first?" Ash asked after waiting for five minutes for her to command her move.
"Right, Excadrill, this battle is important," Iris said, her tone grave. "It depends on your honor, mine, and your mother's!" A mischievous grin spread across her face. "You know what he said?" she asked, and Excadrill opened up to listen. "He said he will drag his big, sticky, and smelly Poké Balls over your mom's face!" she said with a smirk, and Excadrill's face scrunched up in an angry frown.
"Attack!"
Excadrill transformed into a drill and charged at Ash, but Kirlia's eyes flashed with rage. His black bracelet slightly deformed, and Pikachu sparked menacingly from Ash's shoulder.
"Ash, watch out!" Serena yelled in worry.
Ash smirked confidently, fully aware that he would be safe.
Before the Ground/Steel-type could reach Ash, Kirlia suspended it in the air, continuously teleporting around the drilling Pokémon, which couldn't revert from its drill form. Using her Psychic powers, Kirlia unleashed a relentless barrage of attacks. She embedded the drill portion of Excadrill's body into the ground, exposing its softer skin. Then, from all directions, she unleashed Magical Leaf on the Psychically restrained Pokémon while maintaining her Psychic hold.
Hundreds of cuts appeared on Excadrill's body, and blood dripped from everywhere.
"That's enough!" Ash commanded in a cold tone, though inside he was realizing something very important.
The tornado of shining leaves vanished in a beautiful shower of sparkling, glittering multicolored energy. Excadrill's body slumped to the ground as Kirlia released her Psychic hold and happily floated over to Ash.
"Did I do good, Father?" Kirlia asked hopefully, her ruby red eyes staring right into Ash's.
"Yeah, you did very well. Just... when we're not in a dungeon, be a bit less brutal," Ash replied, ruffling the floating Pokémon's head.
Iris was on her knees, her eyes wide with shock. She couldn't believe she had been defeated so easily by a rookie. Her Axew poked at her in concern, but she didn't notice.
"I'm sorry for my words earlier. Here!" Ash said, tossing her a Full Restore. She instinctively caught it. "Next time we meet, I'll want a fairer fight!" he said, walking off with his companions.
'Kirlia was weaker than that Pokémon, but she's been through battles where it's kill or be killed. Any fight my Pokémon are part of, their mentality will always be the same: it's do or die,' Ash thought to himself. Suddenly, a futuristic visor materialized in his hands.
"What's that?" Serena asked, eyeing the strange glasses curiously.
"This is the reward for battling her," Ash replied, both of them inspecting the visor together.
The visor appeared to be made out of transparent glass, sleek and advanced.

Energy vision
————————————————————————
"So, what does it do?" Serena asked, intrigued.
"It lets me see in different ways—heat vision, night vision, and stuff like that," Ash explained as he slipped the visor on. The moment he did, a soft glow appeared beneath his feet.
"It's goodbye for now, then," Serena said, her voice carrying a tinge of sadness.
"No, it's see you later," Ash corrected, a smile playing on his lips.
Serena's chuckles echoed in his mind as he was teleported back to his room, surrounded by his Pokémon.
"Hey try to see through the wall." Pikachu said and Ash nodded, the Visor changing its hue turning into a darker shade of blue.
Ash could suddenly see past walls, clothes and fur, he looked where Pikachu pointed, it was at his mom's room.
Inside he truly found something confusing, surprising and horrifying, his mom was on her bed and she was stabbing herself down there with a large vibrating calendrical object, she was sweating and she seemed to be in pain.
"Wha..." Ash stammered, his eyes wide as he tried to process what he saw."Wha..."
"So what did you see?" Pikachu asked eagerly.
"Mom is stabbing herself for some reason..." Ash said utterly baffled.
"Don't worry about it, its a secret ritual that girls do, it's not painful at all and little boys like you aren't supposed to see that." Pikachu said trying to snatch the visor from his face.
"No I'm NOT a little boy and I can see this." Ash said, looks like Pikachu hit nerve.
Pikachu looked at the clock then at him, "After two minutes you'll give me the visor and I'll do the same." Pikachu said and Ash nodded.
Time skip
After finishing his extracurricular activities, Ash focused on crafting a new weapon—a project he had been eagerly anticipating.

"Of course, yes!" Ash exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over. As he confirmed his choice, the specified items were consumed from his inventory. A bright flash of light enveloped him, signaling the creation of the new weapon.
When the light faded, Ash found a sleek, formidable piece of armor waiting for him. The Weaponized Battle Armor gleamed ominously, its surface a blend of high-tech materials and the sturdy remnants of the mutant Pokémon he had encountered.
The Weaponized Battle Armor is a sleek, tactical suit designed for heavy combat. It features a matte black finish with a full-body tactical armor reinforced with Blastoise shells and Gyarados fangs for added durability. The chest plate is equipped with six retractable Blastoise cannons for powerful water-based attacks, while the arms and legs are lined with enhanced plating for mobility and protection. The helmet includes a full-face gas mask with an integrated under-breathing system and a tinted visor that provides night vision and thermal imaging capabilities, along with a heads-up display for advanced targeting and tactical analysis. On the back, a compact rocket launcher and double-barreled shotgun are mounted, making the armor a versatile, deadly force in battle.
"Whoa, this is amazing!" he said, running his fingers over the intricate designs. The armor not only looked powerful, but he could also feel the energy radiating from it.
With a satisfied grin, Ash equipped the armor. "Now, let's see what this baby can do!"
"Not now, dude! We need to sleep as well!" Pikachu interrupted, his eyes drooping with fatigue.
"Yeah, forgot about that!" Ash replied sheepishly, quickly storing his armor back in his inventory. He changed into his sleepwear and plopped down on his bed. Pikachu curled up on his stomach, while Kirlia adjusted herself by his side, hugging his hand affectionately. Eilie transformed into a cozy blanket, enveloping them all in her warm embrace. This had become their normal sleep routine, a comforting end to their long, adventurous days together.
After waking up, even before bathing or brushing his teeth, Ash headed straight into a dungeon to test his new sleek armor. He knew if he didn't, he wouldn't be able to focus in class today.
He went in solo, letting his Pokémon sleep.
Ash now stood in the ruins of Celadon City, surrounded by hundreds of second-stage and final-stage mutant Grass/Poison-types, each with an additional secondary type. The city was constantly cloaked in a multicolored mist—just one small whiff could kill a thousand Tauros. Thankfully, Ash's new armor made him immune to all airborne poisons.
From his chestplate, six small cannons emerged: two in front, one on each side, and two in the back. From his left shoulder, a miniaturized rocket launcher locked onto targets, while from his right, a double-barrel shotgun came into position.
For a moment, no one moved. The silence before the storm. But when Ash detected movement, all hell broke loose. Powerful jets of purifying water blasted from the miniature cannons, while his armor converted mana into ammunition for the shotgun and rocket launcher.
The mutants attacked all at once, only to be shredded by the cutting force of the water or have their heads exploded by shotgun blasts. Entire groups of mutants were blown apart, with blood and gore flying everywhere. Rivers of green, purple, and red blood pooled at Ash's feet. Within minutes, it was over, the poisonous mist dissipating. Ash hadn't even needed to take a step to annihilate a small army of Grass-type mutants.

"Nice!" Ash's voice echoed, slightly distorted by the helmet. Despite the chaos and destruction around him, his armor remained spotless, not a trace of blood or dirt clinging to its surface. After channeling the Water of Purification through the suit, it had gained an additional ability—the power to purify itself and its wearer. No grime, poison, or filth could ever linger on the sleek surface or affect Ash while he wore it.
"Feels like I just stepped out of a cleansing shower," he thought with a smirk, admiring the pristine shine of his suit amidst the carnage.

"Mmm... I wish Pikachu were here; he could've given me some advice. This is all too sudden," Ash said, removing his helmet and settling onto a rock that miraculously remained blood and guts-free amid the river of gore.
"Why do all these races have an ability to attract? Maybe it's a tactic to confuse opponents, like the move Attract," he hypothesized as he re-read the options.
"You know what? I'll let you decide for me. What suits me best?" Ash said slowly. As he spoke, all the other options vanished, leaving only one.
"I'll take that one then." Ash said

"Wait—" Ash started to speak, but before he could finish, he felt his armor being stored in his inventory. His body was enveloped in a blinding light, and as it faded, he sensed a transformation taking place. Glancing into the pool of blood at his feet, he caught a glimpse of his new features.

His captivating eyes blended bright blue with fiery gold, drawing others in with their otherworldly depth. "It feel good feeling powerful again!" He deliberately chose not to invest any points in his CHA, knowing it would draw too much attention from others—something he seriously wanted to avoid.
He donned his armor again to keep his clothes clean as he walked through the blood and guts. With each step, the blood fell away, cascading back into the river of blood without leaving a stain on his suit.
As he materialized back in his room, he quickly prepared for school alongside Pikachu.
