Dear Diary,
This is my first time writing here. I am not quite sure why I have chosen to begin writing in you, but Mother thinks it might help me. As of yet, I do not know if she is truthful, but I trust Mother. She is usually correct in such matters. I do miss her dearly. It feels like so long since we left her at the station. I do hope she is doing well, or I suppose, as well as she can be. She is, after all, in the middle of a fighting zone. We have yet to hear from Mother, but Peter and Su remain optimistic that she will send a letter. Ed tells me they are only saying that so I will not worry, but I do so hope he is wrong. Su tells me that Ed just wants to poke fun at me, and that I should not listen to him. I believe I shall endeavor to follow Su's words, as she has been far more trustworthy than Ed. He has been so cruel to me, Diary! Did you know he once stole my stuffed bear? He tried to pass it off as his own when Mother found out, but we all knew that Ed had lost his bear years ago, so it didn't work. But you can see the types of things Ed does to me.
