Apologies for the numerous delays. TLDR for those that haven't been keeping up with my profile, shit happened and the internet went, came back, was too weak to upload shit, and had to wait much longer than I'd like for it to be fixed. Then when it was supposed to come back, by the time I'd come back from some errands, power was out, and when it came back, internet went back to shit until now, where it's back in full form. I have such wonderful luck these days, don't I? I swear, it's almost like I'm apart of some shitty sitcom where the producers and writers just keep fucking with me for the laughs.
In any case, my awful luck aside, I know I've kept you all waiting long enough, way too long, even if I have legit reasons for why this shit got delayed so long, so I'm not gonna keep you waiting any longer, given it's been practically two months since the last update.
On with the finale for the Titanomachy!
The Olympian God of Destruction:
Chapter 34: The Titanomachy XXVII
Around the foot of Mount Olympus…
Themis groaned in a mixture of phantom pain and bizarre bliss, as her eyes steadily cracked open. The world coming out blurred at first, with an orange tint, as she came to and rose to a sitting position, idly taking note of her nakedness from the way her bare breasts excitedly jiggled, as well as how the warm wind tickled them and the space between her thighs.
Where… am I…? The Titaness thought, as her vision came into focus, allowing her to give a better look around at her surroundings, whilst the sound of burning hearth-fire permeated her sense of hearing.
It didn't take long for her to register that she'd been sent crashing down to the ground right next to the largest mountain in the universe, as well as that she was completely enveloped, for some reason, in a massive wall of fire that did not burn her, but instead, soothed her. Made her feel relaxed and… revitalized!
No. More than that, now that she was fully cognizant, she realized, it had her senses heightened to the extreme! In fact, they were almost to the level they were at in her ascended state, as the aura infused within the fire touched her very soul as much as it did her mind and body, casting an intense sensation of calm and euphoria over her, the longer she consciously experienced it. So much so, that Themis could not help the gasping moan that launched from her, as something astonishing proceeded to happen next, when she welcomed and chose to embrace what blazed over her.
By my mother's breast…! This sensation…! Its… Its…! Her eyes widened, as without even conscious thought on her end, and more like instinct spurred by the aura present in the blaze that enveloped her, she felt her power spike strongly. Another sensation she instinctively responded to positively without question, which immediately resulted in what was just creamy skin blossoming once again, faster than it'd ever done before, into a brilliant glow of grey, as her eyes suddenly shined a pupilless, refulgent lilac, and her hair flowed out behind her in the perfect mix of both. All as her more erogenous zones were magically covered from view.
"I-I've transformed back into my ascended state!" The Titaness couldn't help but exclaim in awe, her calm exterior doing much to temper the storm of positive emotions that flooded through in that instant, as she was suddenly on her feet, full of as much life and vigour as she had been whilst fighting against Atlas. Though this time, absent was she of the violent, rash action-inducing rage that had wrestled her for much of that encounter.
It wasn't just her, though. As if the fire itself gave her an enhanced awareness of everything else caught within its grasp, the Titan goddess of divine law and order felt much the same happen with Pan close-by, Epimetheus further out, as well as Styx' children and all the Nymphs and other minor gods littered throughout. Every last one of them, just like her, had ascended back into their True Divine Forms too, just as strong as ever before, and with minds and emotions as clear as her own!
Themis would've wondered what exactly could've been capable of rousing them all like this, if she didn't recognise the aura that was permeating through the fire and causing their resurgence. The unmistakable, comforting air of Hestia, who's power felt immeasurably stronger than it had, last she'd sensed the younger goddess.
This power… there is no room for error here… Hestia has ascended… And she feels easily as powerful as my ascended self now, if not more so…! Themis couldn't help but think in wonderment, marvelling at the change in her younger friend and ally. Something that almost took her by complete surprise, before she recalled how they'd planned to claim the Ophiotaurus and its boon for themselves. Something that'd obviously ended up being a roaring success through Hades' efforts, as in that moment, she could also sense the rest of Beerus' siblings at a similar level of power.
That wasn't all that she could sense though. Most of Kronos' forces, which included all their brothers who'd been aligned to him, had fallen, too. From her count, since she'd been defeated earlier, only Theia, Atlas and Kronos remained, whilst their forces were now back at their highest number and fullest extent of power. To say that things had slanted one-sidedly in Beerus' side's favour would be an understatement. This kind of outcome was beyond what even she, or anyone else on their side – bar Prometheus, of course – could've perceived for what the final moments of their last battle with the Titans would look like. It was only a matter of time now before they-
SHKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
"Hunh!?" The Titan goddess' thought process was paused in surprise, as a sound she'd never heard in her life suddenly cut through the sound of burning hearth-fire that surrounded her. The noise like a mix between a ghastly, agonized screech and something massive being viciously torn asunder, causing her head to whip up above, looking out past the comforting flames that did lick up into her father's infinite sky, whilst not quite reaching the lofty heights of Olympus' peak.
Shock ran through her core, as she saw the state of the heavens. Waterless seas of blue and puffy, lightning-strewn clouds of black twisted, turned and rent downward like savage, unrelenting waves from her brother Oceanus' domainas far as any eye could see. Light, from both the day and the ether of the sky, as well as the sun, becoming warped and distorted, as the latter's bright shape began to bend and contort unnaturally within the distance, far away from any of their battles. The twinkling stars, which would normally not appear, unless Nyx' mist shrouded the endless sky, now showed themselves, with their own dazzling gleams being distorted by the bending of the space that held them high.
And as this happened, a shade of shimmering yellow, the same as brass, which would normally never be visible beneath the blue hue of unclouded heaven, whipped and bounded with erratic, uncontrolled and violent spasms, as it peeked through. Something she'd not seen since the old days, where her father could still take physical form, though even in his worst moments, she had not ever seen that shade cataclysmically billowing and sloshing about like a turbulent body of liquid caught in the most harrowing of storms, as she did now!
It occurred to her, almost instantly, that the horrible sound, which continued to blare out from all directions throughout the sky, was that of the startled and pained cries of the various heavenly deities, whose more non-physical forms were wrenched and twisted in ways they were not meant to. All as heaven, to her horror, steadily came crashing down to the earth, with the bright dots of the stars, uncountable in number, looked to be pulled closer and closer together, as Themis' moment of stunned, silent staring persisted.
When that moment passed, it was with the dreadful realization that said stars weren't simply hugging closer together from the warping sky. They, as well as her nephew, Helios, were also plummeting from their once lofty heights, at far greater speed than the blanket of heaven that was supposed to act as their home. And in that precise moment, when those previously concealed, glowing dots, only a handful of which ever did move along the sky, suddenly began to be hurled down, with their warped, celestial lights brightening the world in ways they were not supposed to, Themis tensed. Her eyes glowing brighter and her aura flaring forth in preparation, as the dazzling shine of one previously fixed star shot down toward her at blinding speeds, whilst countless more rained down to Gaea's plane after it.
All the while… Up above…
"By my mother's grace, have you gone mad!?" Zeus bellowed, both in outrage and shock, with a pained expression, as the sky itself, twisted and rent, became tangible and bared down on him and his brothers from all directions, forcing their ascended forms to actively resist the immense pressure trying to sweep and crush them. Worse still, for him, his vision, focused on the Titan responsible for this mess, swam with swirling shades of blue, white, black and yellow, as he also had to actively resist himself being pulled along, like the other deities connected to the sky, who'd been thrown into disarray and chaos. "Pulling down the sky and all who inhabit it… Do you have any idea what you've just done, Atlas!?"
"What I've done, is increased my chances of victory!" Atlas roared back, his body enduring the chaotic tide of the falling sky with relative ease, thanks to his domains, as he sped forward with malicious intent. His hulking frame, mostly healed again, from the wounds inflicted earlier, barrelling into Zeus, as the younger god attempted to raise his shield in defence.
Zeus' arm, however, strained due to what Atlas had done to the sky, was unable to push itself up in time, thus leaving Zeus wide open, for the first time in this three-on-one battle, as Atlas' fist came crashing into his face. The much larger Titan sending him careening away from his brothers with a deafening and distorted BOOM that rattled the warping heavens and blasted away swirling waves of blue and yellow, along with the entirety of Zeus' storm cloud, as the youngest Olympian was sent crashing into one of innumerable falling stars far in the distance. The explosive force of said collision, which saw what had once been an infinitesimal part of Atlas' cousin Astraeus' non-physical body being obliterated in a shower of particles, making for a dazzling display that had Atlas grinning savagely, as he turned his sights on Poseidon and Hades next.
Said gods, who looked to be taking the burden of the sky's turbulent motion better than their younger sibling, did manage to raise their trident and arms respectively in time to block. The former grunting with exertion as Atlas' torqued and swung his other fist back first against him. The blow, supercharged with his divine power, smashing into the trident's shaft and bending its master's arms back from the power, as he was sent flying away. His eyes widening not long after, as he saw another, previously fixed star, plummeting right down into his path, which bashed into him before he could respond.
Said star exploded into countless particles, as it pushed the unprepared Poseidon down. Said god having enough wherewithal to take it with minimal damage, however, was still left somewhat disoriented by it, which left him open for the series of other stars that seemed endless in quantity, which came smashing into him one after the other. Each hitting like a cosmic cannonball faster than the last as they exploded against him, leaving Poseidon no room to recover his wits and evade, as each of them further added to his disorientation while sending him flying down to Earth at increasingly fast speeds, despite his resistance.
Hades, meanwhile, grunted a little harder in pain, as Atlas smashed into his arms with a knee. The limbs of darkness pushing inward, as the blow produced a massive shockwave that blew away yet more swirling waves of the falling sky. Having been the last targeted, however, the darkness-formed deity was more prepared for the blow, and had summoned enough strength to withstand its mighty force, without being pushed back. A feat that earned him a sneer from his bigger foe, who by now had recovered completely from all his prior wounds.
"You can take that, can you? Well then, try this!" Atlas roared, as his huge fist reared back and then swung down with space-rending force!
In response, Hades immediately activated his helm of darkness, causing his shadowy form to vanish, both from view, and from Atlas' touch, as his aura-packed fist struck nothing but a spiralling wave of ether, blasting through it and causing a vast parting of the falling sky's sea of blue and bronze. One that shot on for uncountable miles across the endless, lurching heavens.
"Oh no, you don't. Not this time!" Pushing himself even deeper into his domain of strength, Atlas thrust his other hand out in response, right where Hades had last been. His fingers gripping into space again, but this time deeper, as if punching them through all of reality itself, as he suddenly and viciously wrenched his arm to the side. A move that actually strained the muscles on his arm and sent a spike of pain shooting through his limb, that he endured and ignored.
In the process of doing this, the already tumultuous heavens lurched again, becoming even more chaotic than before, forcing waves of blue and yellow, as well as the storm cloud summoned by Zeus, to brutally jerk sideways this time. Something that caused the shooting stars to tilt and fling themselves down in a much more slanted direction, as Atlas forcefully altered their paths. The aggravated and tormented screams of various heavenly deities fused together becoming louder in the Titan's ears as a result, with the son of Iapetus swearing he'd apologize for such ruthlessness with them later, when all was set and done, as his absurd strength managed to break beyond the very fabric of reality itself!
"What!?" As a result, much to the surprise of his darkness-formed foe, the cloak of invisibility, which made him as intangible as it did unseeable, was temporarily ripped straight off like a thin veil being blown in away by a gust of wind! A first for the younger god, who felt the buffeting of the chaotically waving and plunging sky and its elements once again. His form revealed to be prepped with a fist reared back for a retaliatory punch to the Titan's gut, with his head and body ducked below the Titan general's arm.
With a combination of the shock given from Atlas doing the unthinkable and, quite frankly, ludicrous feat of strength that defied even godly logic in managing to pull off his invisibility, as well the added pressure of hostile heaven baring down on him from all sides again, Hades was left wide open. A first, given the god's proclivity to abusing his helm's power to the fullest, and one that Atlas took full advantage of, in the split-second that his enemy was stunned, to swing back in with the hand he'd just used to pull through the fabric of reality. His fingers curling into a deeply clenched fist that glowed far greater than the rest of him, with the almighty power he poured into it.
CLLLAAAAAP!
The devastating sound of the Titan's knuckles impacting against Hades' shadowy head rang out, breaking through the distorted wails of the heavens and their disorderly wind currents. A sound that Atlas took extra pleasure in, for finally being able to land a proper, hard blow on the elusive, younger deity. Not willing to just leave it there though, and sensing the disorientation the blow had caused his enemy, who's head whipped to the side quite violently, Atlas intercepted Hades' lurching form with another battering blow, smashing his huge fist right into Hades' side. The attack earning him a CRUNCH sound that reverberated, as it bent Hades body awkwardly.
This is for all those times you snuck up on and attacked me or my kin, with that blasted helm of yours! Atlas mental space exclaimed, whilst he physically let out a battle cry and laid into his smaller opponent. His arms a blur, as one punch after another rained down upon Hades in hooks, overhands and uppercuts, bashing his bending body from side-to-side, as his head and torso were belaboured from every conceivable angle that Atlas could find, producing shockwave after shockwave from each intense impact. The Titan relishing the moment, as the younger god continuously coughed up and spewed ichor, while holding an expression of pure pain, as his dark form was assaulted.
Plunged this deep into his domain of strength, the ascended Titan, despite his enjoyment of beating the younger god to a pulp, couldn't help but feel a certain degree of admiration for his foe's own endurance, as Atlas wasn't holding back with a single strike, yet Hades did not fall. A remarkable feat, given that with the latest CLAP to ring out, with his fist punching into his front, Atlas had scored his two-dozenth shot. And with how powered-up the Titan was from delving much deeper into the might of his divine soul than he ever had before, any one of these bludgeoning blows would've been enough to end Themis, or any of his other kin, in their ascended forms, with the exception of Kronos.
Upon going for his twenty-fifth blow, Hades further demonstrated his resilience, as well as his terrifying tenacity, when he growled aggressively and transmogrified the shadowy fingers of his raised hands into super-sharp, elongated claws that burst forth and stabbed into the Titan. The appendages of darkness puncturing right through each of his ribs, lacerating their way through his organs, before punching out through his back with savage squirts of ichor in a single instant, whilst more dribbled out through his perforated front, garnering a pained grunt from Atlas.
That grunt turned into a hissing groan, when the appendages of darkness run through him gained a more flame-like appearance, and in no time at all, Atlas once again felt his bloodstream and organs begin to burn. Jets of fire soon launching from both his maw and his nostrils,as well as the puncture wounds where the dark appendages pierced through him, whilst his marble-looking skin bubbled and steamed, as the ichor in his body, for the second time, felt as though it was being barbarously transformed into a second version of the fiery river of the underworld.
Enduring and ignoring the astounding agony of this, however, Atlas let out another war-cry, as he made to thrust his power-packed fist into Hades' bloodied face. Just as his fist was halfway, though, tendrils of darkness shot out from the younger god's shadowy limbs, stretching, stabbing through and wrapping around the Titan's offending arm and locking it in place. Burnt and flaming ichor drooling out down the appendage, with the immediate propulsion of scorching heat and gushing fire into his limb, charring flesh and bone as the darkness-formed deity stretched his mouth wide before Atlas' eyes. The inside a swirling pit of blackness and glowing, dark-orange fire, as a ball of something swiftly materialized within.
Shit! Atlas' mental curse was well warranted, as without any further preamble, a beam of dark, orange, flaming energy launched from Hades' mouth. The feeling it gave off even more spine-chilling than his aura, while being even hotter than the flames being injected into his body. It was pure instinct in that moment, which saved the Titan from getting his head blasted, as he ducked his enormous frame enough at the last second, despite the continuous internal melting going on with Hades' fingers hampering him. The dangerous attack blazing past, just above the larger god's cranium, splitting apart all in its path and cutting a dark trail through the falling sky.
"Little fucker…!" With a harsh snarl, Atlas drove forth before Hades could follow-up, swinging his other arm out with space-rending strength, crashing his bulky fist into the side of the steadily healing god's head with a monstrous right hook. One that made a deafeningly loud BANG this time, felt throughout all of the heavens, as the blow made contact. The power behind it all but blasting Hades away from the hulking Titan of endurance and strength with incalculable velocity, putting an end to the beam of energy that'd tried to blow his head off. His body of darkness carving another vast parting of the sky's elements, as he zoomed tens of thousands of miles away in an instant.
With Hades' ejection, the tendrils stabbed into and wrapped around Atlas' arm and pierced through his body fizzled away, allowing him the opportunity to heal from the wounds inflicted by the eldest of the three brothers.
As they were doing so, the Titan felt the urge to give a triumphant holler, from having sent the three brothers packing, but held himself back, knowing that if he did manage to take the trio down, he still had their sisters to concern himself with. Not to mention all of their revived – and if what his senses were telling him were true, ascended – allies as well. A literal army of gods against him, with the addition of three hundred-handed giants, who had yet to get involved, but which he was certain would do so eventually. A truly frightening opposition, no matter what way you looked at it.
He pulled a face that was a mixture of a grimace and a grin, at the thought. This was going to be, by far, his hardest challenge. Any other deity would likely be cowed by it, but being the personification of endurance, as well as an exceptionally prideful Titan, even amongst his peers, he refused to be intimidated by it. He'd rise to such a challenge with every last scrap of power he had.
The aura from that fire down below… I recognise it as that of Beerus' twin sister. Taking her down will be top priority, lest I allow her fire to simply rejuvenate her allies once again. Before that, though, I'll have to get past Beerus' little brothers, first. He thought, as he turned to the direction that he'd sent the youngest brother flying back in. And I know which –
The loud CRACK and BOOM of thunder ripped him from his thoughts, as it cut through the wails of the heavenly deities, and before Atlas' very eyes, a massive streak of lightning unlike any other burst forth from the thrashing sea of colours of the sky. The power radiating from it so intense, that it sent the Titan's instincts into overdrive at the danger it posed, as rather than endure the attack from it, he pushed his mostly healed body to the furthest reaches of its physical prowess in order to thrust himself far to the side, ever so narrowly avoiding being cooked alive. All as the hand-crafted weapon of the Cyclopes' make raced past, lighting up what seemed like the entirety of the falling heavens, eclipsing the pure blue of Aether with a potent, static-blue.
"Hrrraaaaaagh!" The Titan's attention was then snapped to the one who'd let loose such a devastating attack, asZeus' cloud-formed body came bounding toward him, as fast as the lightning bolt he'd just hurled, with a battle-cry befitting a true warrior. His shield-bearing arm swinging forth in an upward strike, which had the resplendent aegis cracking Atlas' in his chin before he could raise a guard, whipping his head back in the process and earning a harsh grunt from Kronos' right-hand deity. Particularly as the lightning that coursed through it passed into and zapped him the instant the blow landed, adding further to the damage dealt.
Atlas found the latter to not be as powerful as previous shocks he'd taken, however, and even the physical blow itself, while packing much in the way of raw force, did not hurt him as much as any of the brothers' previous attacks had. And he knew well the reason why, which had him smiling despite the brief pain throbbing through his skull, as he glared down at the youngest of his Lord's seven spawn, already rearing back for a retaliatory punch.
"Getting a bit light there, aren't we?" The Titan jeered, as his fist flew forth, prompting Zeus, under clear strain that he tried to hide, to raise his shield in defence of it, pulling it up to guard his head from the massive, aura-packed knuckles that zoomed toward his face.
Atlas anticipated such a response, however, and with Zeus' focus squared on the approaching fist, the Titan revealed the attack, which appeared to have commitment behind it, to be little more than a feint, as it stopped just shy of the shield. Not a single movement being wasted, as his other fist, which he prepped by his side with an even greater amount of his power, shot out toward the younger, smaller god's unprotected torso, with Atlas giving a full torque of his body with it, so as to maximise its momentum and force.
The blow struck home, but to the Titan's surprise, not in the way he expected, as the instant his knuckles brushed the cloudy-exterior of Zeus' front, it was met with a ferocious amount of resistance, as ineffably strong winds burst forth from his abdomen! The might gales meeting his fist head-on at the last possible second, creating an immense clash of forces as his knuckles struck a veritable wall of densely-packed air, which sent jets and streams of violent winds blasting out all around the two deities, alongside a pressurized shockwave. The latter of which shook and further disturbed the already turbulent sky, and gave the mixed, garbled cries of the element-appearing gods around them not directly involved in their battle a much higher pitch in their ears.
Heh. I have to admit, he's a clever little bastard. Pushing forth the wind contained within his True Divine Form to cushion himself against my strike, so as to avoid any damage this time. Guess I underestimated his ability to anticipate me, as I anticipated him. Atlas thought to himself, admittedly impressed by his opponent's forethought, as the expulsion of power from the clash caused both to be fired back from each other in opposite directions, creating a good half-a-mile distance between them, as both came to a stop.
"I see now." Zeus remarked, more to himself, than to Atlas, as he took a light breath to steady himself, against both the pressure of several deities now semi-physical beings pressing down from all angles, as well as his domains, parts of his very soul, twisted and trying to pull his body along like the others in all directions. "I see now why you'd pull at the heavens' themselves, as you did. It wasn't merely just a ploy out of desperation, which cruelly disregarded the effect on both the spirits that make up the sky, as well as those down below, including your own kin, who could end up crushed under heaven's weight, as I initially thought. It was more calculated than that." The Olympian's eyes narrowed, as he lowered his shield to glare at his foe, while his other hand opened, then closed, as his thunderbolt reappeared in his grasp.
"Took you long enough to catch on, fledgling, especially given your now obvious ties to the sky, with the form you've taken!" Atlas responded sardonically, voice booming, as he shot forward again. "Normally I wouldn't have done something so drastic, but you and yours left me little choice in the matter, other than to bring forth such measures, if I want my side to have any chance to win!"
"Even if you somehow managed to defeat us, your odds of victory would still be next-to-nothing, Atlas!" Zeus bellowed in reply, while thrusting his cloud leg out toward the approaching Titan. His magic spurring forth, despite the strain put on his new domains by the Titan's sky-pulling actions, as said leg shifted and bulged. A FWOOSH resounding, as the limb's foot vanished in place of a circular opening that rapidly expanded in size, soon becoming a hundred feet wide, as the rest of the leg spun and whirled forth into a massive, funnel-shaped cloud of violently rotating wind, brimming with Zeus' aura. One that gave it an electric-blue coat to go with the branches of lightning that surged throughout the spiralling vortex, as it barrelled toward Atlas.
"I am well aware of my low odds, Zeus. So long as I have any at all, at this point, that'll be good enough for me. I am the kind who will go through whatever he has to, in order to achieve that which he strives for!" The Titan roared back with conviction, as he was consumed by the vortex and slammed from near all sides by potent gales and bolts of electricity. The former whipping at his bulky frame, bruising his skin and cutting into flesh, sending out small, flapping streaks of golden blood, while each streak of lightning that struck him burned at every muscle and nerve in his body, almost paralyzing him each time, were it not for his will overcoming it.
Far from his charge being slowed, however, to his surprise, Atlas found it actually being sped up, though not because he willed it so. Rather, it was because while the wind and lightning smashed against him, the current itself being pressed upon him was simultaneously pulling him forward, rather than pushing him back. The rotating, wrenching winds accelerating him towards the 'eye' of the tornado.
Said 'eye', as he immediately found out, was precisely where Zeus wanted him. For come his reaching of it, where the spiralling walls of air compressed down and began crushing against Atlas' hyper-muscly frame, and the lightning surged greater than ever, blasting every last divine atom in his body, the cyclone whipped upwards, similar to a leg being thrust up. The immense pull of it, at its peak in the eye, where normally in most other worlds, it would've been at its weakest, dragging him with it, before spittle and ichor launched from his maw and was immediately burned away, as Zeus' foot reformed, charged with more air and lightning than the entire tornado and bashed into Atlas' gut.
With the combined assault of the other wind and lightning partially weakening the Titan, Zeus' wind and electricity infused kick, packed in with as much of his aura as he could spare, brought a tormented scream out of Atlas, as he was suddenly launched back with a far-reaching BOOM! His body alight and revealing his skeleton beneath his flesh, as lightning shocked him to the depths of his core, whilst his abdomen caved inward and his ribs crunched down, as the high-pressure, aura-infused air beat against him, sending him shooting up higher and higher into the falling sky.
It wasn't long before his body was removed from the tornado Zeus had summoned from his leg, and his durable frame was sent crashing through one of the very stars he'd brought down with his actions. The shining, celestial object shattering into countless ethereal pieces of light from the collision, as it slightly slowed his ascent, and got Atlas to snap his eyes open, for he'd subconsciously closed them earlier when tanking such a vicious assault, and stare down wide-eyed at Zeus thousands of miles below him. His powerful voice echoing forth with the great gales of his own wind, as the tornado he'd made reshaped itself back into his cloudy leg.
"You say you're the kind who'll do whatever he must, in order to achieve his desires!? Well then, try withstanding this!" Zeus cried out in fury, the strain on his body still hampering him, but that didn't matter this time. Not when he had his thunderbolt, now blazing a magnificent shade of white that shone a brilliant glow throughout all of the falling heavens from how much power was pumped into it, raised high above his head, as he leaned back. His cloud-muscles, and indeed, his entire body tensing and sparking with electricity that burst and coiled around every wisp of his godly form, blazing stronger than ever out of his eyes, as he swung his arm forth and loosed his destructive weapon from his hand!
Long before it even got close with its terrifying speed, Atlas felt panic shoot through him, as the power it gave off was more than double what'd it been the last time he'd hurled it at him, moments ago. Enough power, by his quick estimate, to scorch him to complete nothingness, leaving but only his soul behind, if he was lucky.
Faced with such imminent doom, as it sped toward him in a timeframe that even he found near impossible to keep track of, Atlas honed battle instincts yet again saved him from a truly gruesome end, as he latched on to the space in front of him with both hands. His fingers kneading into the visible and invisible folds of the dropping sky, as he managed to tear his arms toward himself, almost tearing his muscles apart in the process, as near-unbearable pain lanced through them. Pain which he endured through, just like everything prior, as his action pulled his body upward and forcefully made the turbulent heavens lurch into him. An action that successfully pushed him far enough away in time, that the thunderbolt's hide only grazed him as it flew by with its blinding, electrifying light, zapping its way through the waves of blue and yellow.
The Titan didn't get off unharmed, however, as white-hot pain seared through him from that lightest touch with the thunderbolt alone, as merely the graze itself was enough to melt and set his skin, from the left side of his body top-to-bottom, ablaze. Divine flesh quickly being burnt and charred a grisly black, from foot-to-neck along his leg and torso. Half his face, which got the worst of the graze, was practically shredded away in an instant, as his eye exploded in gory detail and his flesh melted instantaneously, revealing his darkened skull within, which shone with the electricity coursing through it and striking his brain. Doing so hard enough that it momentarily made his world blur, but did not render him unconscious.
By my parents' grace… I wish Lord Kronos had just put those Cyclopes to the scythe, and spared us all from the terror that their hand-crafted weapons have brought!... Atlas thought to himself in aggravation, for once at his leader's lack of foresight. And as his body started to heal again, he glared down at Zeus, as his latest wrench of the heavens made the waves of Aether and Ouranos lurch and slam up against him and Zeus, while also altering the course of several stars beneath the latter.
Unlike the others that fell, these ones shone differently. Some glittered less than the once fixed stars, while others blazed brighter, and one even had a reddish tint to itself. Each of which resonated, as the five of them were pulled along, against their will, with a distinct voice of their own that got melded in with all startled noises and cries of the other sky gods affected by Atlas' actions. Their circular bodies distorting in shape, and as they reached Zeus, who could only look back in surprise at their arrival, each of them shifted into a physical shape similar to theirs, with arms, legs, torsos and heads. Each with an agonized expression, as their shining forms crashed into both each other, as well as Zeus' back, with incredible force.
"Hnngk!..." Caught off-guard by this, Zeus let out a gasp, more from surprise than pain, as the five minor male gods – the children of Atlas' cousin Astraeus, who called themselves the Astra, or in other words, the wandering stars – sent both themselves and Zeus shooting up to Atlas. And said Titan, despite it all, couldn't help but grin at this opportunity. His healing body already prepping itself for its own onslaught, as Zeus star-carried form zoomed up toward him at remarkable speed, while he dove down.
His cousin was definitely going to have a grudge with him to be resolved, after this. The unintended knocking out of his other sons, the Anemoi earlier, could and would be blamed on Themis. Having his celestial form pulled upon without consent, as it had been, and now, what would likely end up being the knocking out of his starry sons as well, after the abuse he'd put them through, and was about to put them through? That was all on the Titan general. And all he could do, again, like with the other heavenly gods, as well as the gods down below, which included his precious daughter Kalypso and other children, the latter of whom were far removed from the battles, was send a silent apology for any harm that had or would come because of him.
"Haaaaaaaaagh!" His full focus was then on Zeus, the Titan letting out the scream of a warrior, as he came within striking range, and with his burned body not even halfway healed yet, Atlas flung his arms out into a barrage of rapid-fire punches all over Zeus' smaller form. His cloud-body warping and altering in shape around his bodily features, as Atlas' blows battered him, making the waving, dropping sky ripple and quake with every punch landed, as the Titan's aura flared at its highest yet. The Titan's attacks drawing streaks of sizzling ichor, both from himself and Zeus, as each shot that bludgeoned the smaller god's form was met with the hostile elements that were apart of Zeus' ascended form. That being the cutting winds beneath the surface of his cloudy frame, which sliced deep into his hands, as well as the lightning still coursing through him, which lapped at Atlas' arms, burning and zapping away at his limbs.
Atlas ignored the mounting pain from that, even as more and more blackened flesh was exposed in place of marble-looking skin. He also refused to slow, as he continued smashing Zeus down with punch after punch, determined to put the newly-made sky-god down for the count, and not give him any chance to retaliate or mount a better defence, like he had before, with either his shield or his domains. Each strike even stronger than the ones he'd forced on Hades earlier, as he dove deeper into the boundlessness of his second primary domain next to endurance, that of strength, which ballooned out his muscles even further. Each attack, given the strain and pain he was already dealing with, incredibly taxing on both his mind and spirit, but Atlas soldiered on, determined to defeat the youngest of the three brothers.
Ergh!... Blast his wrenching of the sky! Each time he does it, he's putting more strain on my soul, making it harder and harder to efficiently move myself! Gnuh!... That's not all he's managed with his actions, though. This bastard also took advantage of the sole weakness inherent to visualizing and materializing where one desires, which makes dealing with this situation so much worse! Zeus thought to himself, head ringing and skull cracked, along with various other bones, as ichor pooled out from his, mouth, eyes and ears. His vision, somewhat blurred now, still able to make out each blow from his foe that blasted down into his body, wracking him with pain, as Atlas' assault continued, and he struggled and failed to so much as raise his shield-arm during it to defend himself.
Shape-shifting for him wasn't even an after-thought, for assuming he could focus enough under all this pressure to do it, there was nothing he could think of in the moment to change himself into which would help against a highly focused and motivated Atlas. Nor was attempting to fix the sky, given he was tied to it, as although that was more than possible for him, with what Atlas had done, it would take all his focus to do, which would just leave him even more open to the Titan's attacks. And it wasn't as if Atlas couldn't just send the sky back into disarray with another pull from his hands, either, which would make his efforts pointless, anyway, so long as he was still around.
The normal and easier response in this situation, would've been to dematerialize and then reappear in a more favourable position. Due to the turbulence and tangibility of the spirits that made up the sky, at the moment, such an ability was simply impossible. And it wasn't simply because of the strain it put on the youngest Olympian both physically and spiritually, from his own domains being so chaotic, which made focusing for it much more difficult.
No. The actual reason, had to do with the one place one could not materialize themselves' within, or dematerialize from, if caught within it, somehow, which was the body and or being of an active deity. And by active, he meant one that wasn't merely just passively existing in their elemental state, where their soul was in a completely relaxed existence, to the point where their presence could be felt, but not tangibly interacted with in any meaningful way. It was for that reason, that under more normal conditions, excluding the use of barriers or other such magic that repelled such entry, any deity could materialize wherever they wished, and virtually all gods tied to a place in the universe didn't get in the way by default.
With all the pressure that was currently bearing down throughout all of the sky, thanks to Atlas' actions, the presence of multiple Protogenoi had become much too palpable, and being caught within them like this, Zeus was without an option of easily getting out of this situation. And it didn't help that Atlas' never-ending barrage – which was clearly him trying to end him quick, before his brothers could potentially come back and force him away – was both debilitating and disorienting, physically and mentally.
On its own, Zeus could've handled it without much issue, thanks to his new power. Add that on to what the youngest Olympian was already going through, however, and he was left in a terrible spot. One that unless he wanted it to end badly for him, he'd have to brute force his way out of it.
"Hnn! You're quite the durable one as well, aren't you?" Atlas growled a begrudging compliment, echoing much the same of what he'd thought of Hades, as he barbarously whipped Zeus' cloudy head to the side with his fortieth punch, splattering both their burnt ichor over each other. His head having fully reformed by now, no longer exposing his skull. "Even with your newfound power though, you should only be capable of enduring this for so long, before I finally break you!" He said, as he brought both his blackened, lacerated hands together, clasping them above his head, as his power radiated through them, pulsating so immensely that Atlas could feel his own bones creaking from the pressure he was putting on them.
Zeus, through somewhat blurry vision, saw a bright bubble of Atlas' metaphysical energy consuming them both and warping space around them before they even did anything, as the Titan somehow delved even deeper into his main domains for what appeared to be his final attack on him. One that the bodies of the wandering stars were – against their will – pushing him towards.
This is it. I have him right where I want him! Atlas thought to himself with a feeling of exhilaration, as his clasped hands began to descend, and in his mind, spelling the doom of the youngest Olympian, who'd been empowered by the Ophiotaurus, no less! You'll be the first, Zeus! The first of your siblings, and of your brother Beerus' allies, to fall by my hand! Your boon from the Ophiotaurus be damned!
Just as Atlas' face was breaking out into an almost manic smile, though, he failed to fully take notice of a radical change that occurred around him and Zeus in that instant.
The younger deity, on the other hand, recognised it immediately, given his new ties to the sky. It was the sensation of, at the last possible moment before he was potentially struck down, all of the strain and anguish his soul was put under, which substantially effected his mental and physical aspects, being lifted from him entirely. The feeling of all his domains, which had just been in a state of chaos, being forcefully pulled into a state of order and calm, by someone he knew all too well, at this stage.
Around that time… Down below…
"Hrrgk-haaaaaah!" Themis groaned in heavy exertion, with her brow creased and teeth grit, as her hands raised high toward the heavens, eyes glowing radiantly while her aura shone off her intensely within Hestia's body of fire. Her mind and soul as strained as her body felt, in that very moment, as she felt her power, her domains of divine law and order, be pushed to their limits – perhaps even beyond them – as her will enforced itself upon the tumbling sky.
"That's it, Themis! I know you can do it!" Hestia's encouraging words blew softly into her ears, as the younger goddess smiled appreciatively and laid a trustful hand upon her shoulder, as the aura present within her fire gave comfort and ease to her ally's being. "Just a little more now. You just need to push a little harder and I know you'll have it!"
Themis merely nodded back in acknowledgement and gratitude of her fellow deity's faith. The younger goddess having arrived by her side not long after she'd dealt with the star that'd plummeted toward her, and she wasn't alone either. Metis, along with various others after, including Pan and the children of Styx, all in their ascended states like she was, materializing close to her. Each of them, naturally, like everyone else who wasn't near her, she was sure, having been stunned at the sight of the sky falling down on them, like the deeply disturbed waves of the ocean under the most intense of storms. All with the deities who made up it, along with those who simply lived there, crying out in shock and pain over the situation.
"Amathés!" The god of the wilds hissed, swapping his gaze between the carnage going on around the earth, and by extension, his domains upon its soil, and the sky, where he could sense the Titan general's presence. "Couldn't be felled or surrender peacefully, could you? You just had to create a mighty mess on your way down, didn't you, Atlas!?" Tears nearly reached Pan's eyes, as he felt more and more of his domains, and the spirits that did call them their homes, being annihilated by the cosmic catastrophe raining down on them. He felt their pain, as much as he spiritually felt his own, as rage and grief both struck him hard, evidenced by his tormented expression, as his hands clenched tightly, drawing ichor from his palms. "If Beerus doesn't punish you for this act after our side wins, I swear to you that I will, and make you regret the day you were ever fucking born for this slight!"
Nobody there failed to understand why the god felt the way he did, for they all saw how the land around them, far and wide, had been and was still being utterly decimated from the calamity Atlas – whom they'd sensed as responsible – had caused. Countless perforations – which were still increasing, as time went on – littered the lands as far as the eye could see, regardless of the direction one looked. Out in front of them alone, mountains and islands alike had been raised and flung left and right, whilst larger landmasses had been split apart violently and either upturned, or crumbled badly enough to sink beneath Pontus' body.
Speaking of Pontus, the sea itself stewed and rolled with innumerable holes itself from the stars that did impact against its surface, plunging deep into its endless depths. Massive waves formed and collapsed just as quickly as they appeared, while geysers erupted in other places where the stars blasted into the water, which both boiled and glowed brighter and brighter still, the more stars from heaven fell down inside. They'd all even felt Poseidon smash down into the sea along with the shower of stars a moment ago.
Meanwhile behind them, casting a magnificent, golden-orange glow all around Mount Olympus, which travelled far and wide, was that of Helios' radiance. The sun god, quite like the stars, having been unable to keep himself in the sky and, unprepared for what Atlas had pulled, given it was a step above mere shockwaves, as far as his day-time abode was concerned, had also plummeted down to Gaea's plane. And in doing so, nobody doubted that he'd completely scorched wherever he'd landed to charred earth, ash and cinders, while evaporating away surrounding water into fiery-hot steam.
The scenario was enough to make Pan want to screech until even his own divine lungs collapsed, all while desperately trying to stop the stars from crashing down on his domains and the beings that inhabited them. He might've too, were it not for Hestia's aura-fuelled fire keeping him calm enough to remain somewhat rational and recognise that such an action would've been fruitless, no matter how fast he moved. For even with the restored abilities to teleport and shape-shift, for every star he stopped, many more would smash down out of his reach, moving at speeds as fast as he could think.
Despite this, however, Metis was considerate enough to reply to his anguish, telling him exactly what he needed to hear, as she moved to stand next to the grieving god.
"I assure you, he will see punishment for this, Pan." She said to him soothingly, aided by Hestia's aura, which she was eternally thankful for, with her voice gentle, but firm. Expression sympathetic, but also serious as it could be, as she, similar to the eldest Olympian with Themis, laid a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Though I know it cannot make up for much of your domains being physically obliterated at present moment, the one thing I can promise you, is that there can be no doubt about him being punished for his actions. Especially not after he's done something like this, either to give himself a chance to win, or purely out of spite. His fate after this battle, will be the furthest from pleasant that we can make it."
The god of the wildsturned his gaze to the Oceanid, as he heard this. Her sympathetic gaze, combined with Hestia's aura, making his grieving, aggravated expression soften – even if just slightly – as he was helpless to do much else. The god giving her a nod that showed some faith in her words, before both their attentions were turned to another deity in their group, who chose that moment to pipe up.
"It damn well better be! I and my brothers and sister missed that bastard's brother Menoitios getting what he deserved from Beerus, so watching him suffer both a defeat and a brutal punishment alongside his kin will have to make up for that!" Bia barked angrily with a balled fist by her chest, stuck in a foul mood since being awakened, despite Hestia's influence, upon realizing how she'd been defeated. "Even now, I still can't believe we lost to that buffoon! I feel like I brought shame not only to myself, but my mother too, for losing so disgracefully..."
"Do not be so harsh on yourself, sister." Nike remarked kindly, gently placing her hands on her aggressive sibling's shoulders with a look of understanding. "You weren't in your right state of mind. Neither was I, or Zelus. Only Kratos, thanks to Beerus, was of good mind, and yet even still, all he managed to do was allow Beerus enough time to transform into his ascended state."
"May not have been able to do anything to him physically, but I certainly got under his skin, at least, with the insults I threw at him." Kratos spoke up, his tone carrying a rare hint of humour to it, as his arms were crossed by his chest. The largest of the four siblings having made sure already to fill his kin in on what'd happened to them for clarity's sake, as well as what'd happened after, just before his own defeat, at the hands of the now slain Titan.
"Once this is all finished, you'll have to let us know what exactly you said to him, both before and after the rest of us were taken out. Because as dumb as he was, I'm honestly rather curious as to what words you used to keep his attention on you, rather than it falling to Beerus." Zelus chimed in with a rueful smile, as he leaned back against the hide of Olympus with his arms folded. His own tone carrying some humour to it, despite the obvious disappointment he felt, like his sister, over not being able to witness their shared foe's downfall.
"I have no problem with that, brother." Kratos simply nodded back at his brother, giving a smirk of his own, before turning his attention back to their sister, who still looked, understandably, dissatisfied. "As for you, Bia, our sister is correct. I understand your frustration, but none of us were prepared for Menoitios to be capable of manipulating us like that. In the end though, even if we weren't there to witness it, he got what he deserved, just as every other enemy of ours will get theirs." He said, before his smirk morphed into a borderline sadistic grin, as his gaze shifted over toward a different direction from the battle taking place above, involving the Titan general, where he could feel the presences of the two gods at the centre of this entire conflict engaged in combat. "And by the way, it's not just Atlas we'll get to see fall, sister. More important than even that, we get to see our future king taking down the one responsible for this conflict from the beginning."
"Agreed…" Themis managed to force out, as her power flexed, her eyes glowed even brighter, and with Hestia's aid, the burden upon her spirit made bearable enough for her to lock on to every facet of the sky and get a firm grasp of them with her primary domains, despite the damage Atlas had done. The full weight of the chaotic heavens pushing down on her soul, making her feel the boundlessness of the heavens' reach, which most likely would've crushed her consciousness by now, had she been completely alone.
She wasn't, though. She was backed up – and had been brought back into the fray – by the wonderful sister of the god whom she had faith would usher in a superior age of their kind than what his predecessors had. The very same god who was currently engaged with – and she had no doubt was defeating – his father at this very second, all as his brothers dealt with the second-in-command, her former lover, whom she herself had been pretty much helpless against, if she was honest. In hindsight, defeating him in combat was something she'd have never been able to do, even if she'd been of right mind during their bout, as with what she sensed now, it was clear he was holding back a good deal.
What she couldn't do, however, Beerus' brothers, she felt, with their newfound powers, certainly could. And that process would be made easier, once Atlas' final, advantageous play was taken out of the equation. And that was something, if nothing else, that she'd make sure happened, with every fibre of her being!
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!" With a final, resounding roar, Themis' aura blazed brighter than Hestia's aura and fire for the briefest moment, as her hands balled into fists, fingers tugging into space itself, similar to the Titan general, as her chest puffed outward and her arms swung back. Her will pushing, and with all of her strength, makingthe heavens themselves yield and submit to her control!
And as this occurred, the sea below it, glowing from the countless collisions over its surface from the falling stars, suddenly rippled like never before. The entire body of water seemingly stirring to life, as it began to churn and swirl, free from the influence of outside factors, as far as any divine eye could see, whilst gaining a radiance to it that'd previously not existed, as a great roar of unfathomable power echoed from its deep-blue depths.
Meanwhile… Back up in the sky…
Feeling his burden suddenly lift, thanks to the beautiful Titaness' efforts, Zeus felt a surge of energy running through him, and with his movements no longer hampered, roared again in defiance, as he brought his resplendent aegis up to meet Atlas' coming axe-handle strike with superb speed. A world-shaking shockwave erupting forth from the CLANG of aura-empowered flesh against celestially-powered metal, the infinite sky warping around them. As this occurred, Zeus' cloudy body, which began rapidly healing from any damage inflicted, pulsated and glowed a static blue, as lightning coursed strongly through him and through his shield, before with a great bellow, he released it from himself.
"Nnnnggggaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Atlas stunned, agonized cry echoed with the almighty BOOM of thunder, as the heavens were again lit up a startling shade of blue that flashed brighter than any star, brighter than even Helios the Sun or Hemera the Day herself, with the grand shocking of the older deity's titanic frame!
The unfortunate consequence, was that the deities who had been unintentionally helping Atlas by pushing against Zeus, were fried to a crisp. Their own howls of pain quickly silenced, as their heavenly bodies, all chiselled and lithely muscled in their ascended states, were almost instantly reduced to ashes that from the unparalleled level of voltage passing through Zeus and into them, just as much as it did Atlas. The latter's whole skeleton yet again showing through his skin like an x-ray, as he endured the celestial discharge of electricity in tremendous torment.
It didn't end there though. For now that he was no longer weighed down, Zeus' might showed itself, as his cloudy muscles bulged around his shield-bearing arm, especially around his forearm and bicep. The wind trapped within and being endlessly generated by Zeus' mere existence springing to life and gyrating with such velocity, that his dark, cloudy arm, lit up by electricity, began to twist and turn outwardly, like a compressed whirlwind, as Zeus let out his own war-cry before viciously thrusting his aegis up. The force, amplified by the wind, easily repelling both of the shocked Titan's arms, and sending his still clasped hands, blackened and charred and chipping around the edges flying high up above head!
"I've had enough!" Zeus mighty bellow boomed out across the sky, as his other hand opened wide, and his trusted thunderbolt reappeared in his palm, before his fingers closed around it. His expression as determined as it was thunderous, as the cries of the heavenly deities ceased around him, and he saw how the waves of the sky had stopped, along with its fall and the stars descent, while glaring hard at his writhing foe. "You had your little moment, Atlas, but this is where it ends!"
"D-Damn you…!" Atlas hissed back, as the electric discharge through his body became more bearable, his body feeling the lack of pressure around it from the falling sky, and it didn't take long for him to put two and two together that his actions had somehow been reversed. He didn't have time to let the surprise of it get to him though, nor did he have time to ponder who was responsible, not with Zeus so close, at full strength and armed with his destructive weapon in-hand, which could absolutely obliterate him if it landed an attack on him.
And that was why, with the fastest thinking and reflexes he could manage, even despite feeling like his nerves were melting and his organs were liquifying, the Titan heaved and swung himself back. His legs bending and feet priming themselves to try and throw Zeus off his mark and hopefully stun him more than anything with a double kick to his legs, which would in turn act as a launching pad for the Titan to more easily propel himself back and create distance between them. All so that he'd have more than enough time to revert the sudden fixing that'd been done to the sky, before the god could teleport into range and ruin him.
Fate, however, was not on his side, for before his legs could thrust down, both were suddenly constricted as large tendrils of seawater, packed with a sea-green aura that made them exceedingly dense, launched up from below at terrifying speeds and wrapped around them, from ankle to knee. The Titan barely being given the time to process what was happening, before he was swiftly and callously wrenched downward and away from Zeus, who's gaze snapped down with him as he dropped.
Within that moment, which saw him dragged down halfway to Gaea's plane, perhaps on instinct, Atlas pulled his head back to avoid it being skewered, as a familiar trident shot up at greater speeds than the tentacles of water had. The object glowing the same outline of sea-green, which illuminated especially bright around its sharp teeth, as the middle one skinned off and drew ichor from his chin with the weapon's fast ascension.
All three of the tri-pronged spear tips, as they surged up, quickly embedded themselves deep into Atlas' blackened wrists and hands, sending charred bits of flesh and ichor splattering out. The Titan grunted in pain at this, but quickly found out that was only the beginning, as his eyes spotted what looked like another tendril of water coiled tightly around the shaft. Then, without wasting even the slightest moment of time, empowered by a divine will that could easily give the Titan of endurance a harsher challenge than any of his Titan kin, it aggressively and forcefully gyrated.
KUREEEEEEEEEE!
The sound was similar to a chainsaw being revved up, not that Atlas himself would've known what that was, or cared, as the now spiralling tendril of seawater pulled the weapon with its rotational course, making it go from a place of stillness to a savage spin in the blink of an eye. The sound of flesh and bone being crunched and shredded reverberating immediately thereafter.
A sharp gasp of torment left Atlas' lips when it did, as the rapidly rotating armament ripped his hands apart in an instant! The three sharp, spinning tips sundering through from the wrists to the tips of his fingers atom-by-atom, as the trident's upward movement immediately began anew, spurred on by the water that supernaturally pushed it forth into motion. The drilling weapon sending chunks of flesh and bone flying in every direction with an enormous blast of burnt, golden blood that splattered over the Titan's head, as Atlas' hands were brutally eviscerated from his person, leaving nothing but ichor-spewing, messy stumps behind.
"Ungh!... Poseidon!..." The name growled out of Atlas' throat, as the trident and water swirling about it vanished, all of a sudden, and what sounded like a whistling noise then blared in his ears, without warning, all the way down from the depths of the sea itself. A sound that sent his gut lurching and had his instincts screaming in alarm, as his gaze dropped to the displaced and churning waters deep down below, whilst being sure to keep his senses locked on Zeus above him as well, in case said god attempted to hurl his thunderbolt at him yet again.
Little did he know, that Zeus had taken pause as well, and watched on in a semblance of awe, similar to Atlas, as the great sea then lurched upward! The waters rising up in a way that caused landmasses both small and large to be pulled along with it, forcing them to either float precariously above the rising tide of distending water, or be swallowed whole, as a gargantuan, Olympus-dwarfing shape began to take form.
It started with a perfectly sculpted torso of rolling and rippling waves, which was then soon joined by arms of heavily defined muscle with calloused hands, formed from still-churning waters and heavier waves that swirled and shifted with vigour, before the head and its features finally formed. The tsunami-like hair rolling down toward the bulging tides that the transmogrified Poseidon had caused beneath his sea-formed shape, as his glowing eyes glared up intensely at the heavens with an unrelenting focus and grand determination. All whilst his trusted trident, now made large enough to dwarf Olympus in its own right, reformed in one of his outstretched hands, looking more menacing than ever, as the waters of the sea rolled around and enveloped it, somehow allowing it to cast the most dazzling glow, as the sea-green aura outlined both.
"Nngh!... You think making yourself bigger will frighten me!?" Atlas barked loudly, not allowing himself to be a victim of fear, even as it briefly pulsed through him, as he felt that Poseidon's power had risen from before, possibly from physically merging with what was clearly his domain. Either that, or he'd been holding back before. A thought that the Titan didn't let ruminate and give him pause, as he once more delved even deeper into his domain of strength, that which had allowed him to pull down the heavens themselves.
The muscles all around his body expanded further, as he forced his legs to kick through and blast the tendrils of aura-packed seawater off of him. A process that he grimaced at, as he felt the stubborn tendrils cut deep into his skin and flesh, nearly slicing through bone, as he forced himself out of their clutches, with ichor streaming and spilling down all over his appendages and pouring out over the sky.
That did not matter though. He could feel his hands already rapidly regenerating. If he could just hold out long enough, then –
"Hhrgkh!?" Atlas made a gargled noise of shock and pain, as his back was suddenly punched through, launching golden blood out in a mini-geyser from his chest, as it exploded outward with a sizeable hole left through behind, as his body suddenly locked up. His muscles spasming as they were held back and in place by an unseen force. One that seemed to notice his hands regeneration, and actively put a stop to that somehow too, by enveloping them in its invisible, hostilely smothering embrace.
"Forget about me, did you?" Hades' voice resonated by Atlas' ear in a soul-chilling tone, as he appeared in all his shadowy glory behind Atlas. That which bound and punctured the Titan being revealed to be the god's tentacles of darkness, sprouting from his back and shoulders, which quickly began to burn at his skin and flesh all around his torso, neck, and already damaged arms and legs, adding more to the Titan's suffering, while ensuring he had no reprieve.
"W-Why you…!?" The Titan glared balefully back at his captor, as he coughed up more of his ichor, which also continued to pour out from the impaled hole in his torso, all as he struggled desperately to break free from Hades' grip. The son of Iapetus pushing himself even further into the boundlessness of his domains of strength and endurance to do so, bulging out his freakishly mountainous frame of muscle even further alongside his aura, only for the younger deity to tighten his hold on him. His limbs of darkness further burning his flesh in the process, as he maintained his constrictive grip on him despite Atlas' best attempts to break free.
"Enough with you, Atlas. Your annoying presence has long overstayed its welcome on the battlefield!" Hades stated with a cold fury, sending another involuntary shiver down the Titan's ruptured spine. "I'd end you here by myself, but after all the trouble you've caused, you deserve nothing less than a most brutal end. Don't you agree, brothers?" The 2nd eldest son of Kronos and Rhea bellowed harshly with vigour, his voice carried by the powerful wind to his two brothers' ears instantly.
"I don't think I could ever agree with you more, Hades." Poseidon replied first, his distorted voice deeper and louder than ever thanks to super-sized body made from the sea, as he aimed his trident up at the heavens with a furious expression to match his brother's. "We've disgraced ourselves already by even allowing him to temporarily gain the upper-hand on us, when we should've taken him down earlier. No more. This battle ends here!"
"You'll hear no argument from me on either point, dear brothers." Zeus responded next with a nod, before his cloudy body began to transmogrify, the thunderbolt seemingly submerging into him as he quickly stretched out across the endlessly vast sky in the swirling mass of a pitch-black storm cloud. One that sparkled with menacing flashes of bright blue, purple and white light, as the cloud expanded so far in an instant, that it seemed to blot out Aether's brilliant blue and cast all beneath Zeus' body in a darker hue.
From the storm cloud then, Zeus' head and face emerged first, pulling the wispy black cloud with him, much like his brother Poseidon had with the sea. His cloud-formed features now all as pitch-black as the cloud he'd become one with, as his heavily muscled torso and arms formed next, as lightning and wind rolled off his frame in intense waves. His eyes, which previously glowed a static blue, now glowed a mixture of blue, purple and white to match the electricity that surged throughout the sky from his heavenly power, as one of his arms reared back. A majestically blue-white glow peeking out from below the surface, as an incalculable amount of electric energy was packed inside from his trusted thunderbolt.
Damnit! No…! I can't allow this to happen…! Atlas, sensing this all, tried even harder to escape Hades' clutches. A snarl escaping him as his muscular frame bulged with greater and greater muscle mass, alongside a ballooning aura, as he forced himself deeper and deeper into his primary domains, regardless of the immense strain it increasingly put on him, especially given the agony he was already in. He endured it, for he could feel his strength increasing more and more, and felt himself be able to squirm and lash out against his captor more and more, even as the dark tendrils seared through more of his expanding flesh and boiling his blood at unimaginable temperatures.
"Increasing your strength won't help you this time, Atlas!" Hades scoffed, before the tendrils wrapped around and pierced through Atlas' body suddenly moulded and expanded themselves, much more rapidly than Atlas' muscular frame did, pinning the Titan's arms to his sides and his legs to each other at an awkward angle. Within a blink, all but Atlas' head was totally shrouded in Hades' constricting darkness, fully containing the powerful Titan, who at that point, held significantly more raw strength than any of his allies at their best, much to his chagrin.
Turning him quick to face him then, Hades gave the futilely struggling Titan one final, deathly cold stare with his soul-chilling eyes. "When you next arise, Atlas, remember this..." He said, as he wound back a fist of darkness. "The folly of your choices and actions is what got you where you are, and no matter how much you wish it weren't so, my elder brother's words to you and yours that day on Othrys were as prophetic as they come!"
Hades' shadowy knuckles impacted against Atlas' face in the next instant, producing a ferocious, booming shockwave that whipped his head back and dislodged several broken teeth with a spurt of ichor, as the Titan's body was sent flying back at high speed.
And as soon as it was, Zeus and Poseidon didn't hesitate to launch their attacks. Zeus' being his thunderbolt-charged fist which sailed downward, quickly rotating alongside his arm at high-speed, becoming like a tremendous tornado, and his brother's being his trident which thrusted up, with a massive vortex of aura-powered water swirling around all three tips like an auger.
Atlas barely had time to widen his eyes, as all his attempts to break out of Hades' shadow bindings failed, his vision glancing both attacks hurtling towards him at speeds he couldn't possibly escape from even if he did break his bonds, before both attacks reached him. Whatever scream that may have launched from his throat being silenced almost instantly, as the brothers' attacks struck home simultaneously, all with a mighty CRASH that resounded like thunder meeting and fusing with the ruthless roar of the tumultuous sea.
In the infinitesimal moment where Atlas was still cognizant, an indescribable pain far exceeding any he'd ever endured flashed across his very soul itself, as his vision soon saw nothingness. His body swiftly torn asunder, down to the tiniest of particles, as not even the greatest of his domain of endurance could save him from annihilation.
And, as if to herald the mighty Titan's destruction, the world shook again. Only this time, more violently and explosively than ever before, as a blinding light from the collision of the brothers' attacks surged forth to momentarily bathe seemingly the entire universe in purest white.
Around that time…
"Nngh!..." A grunt of exertion, and of panic, forced its way out of Kronos' throat, as he narrowly brought up his scythe in time to block Beerus' punch, as the god materialized in-front of him, shortly after the Titan had halted his backward momentum. The force of it bending the older deity's arms back and making his bones creak concernedly, as well as blasting away a large portion of the seawater he'd displaced in his undesired flight earlier, as he barely held himself in position, instead of being sent soaring away.
The Titan's side stung still from the blow that'd sent him hurtling far away from Crete, as he narrowly pulled his head back in time to avoid his eldest son's follow-up attack, a spinning back-kick aimed at his cheek, as his dark-purple aura outlined his body. His eyes narrowing in, in that instant, on a perceived opening, and instinct took over, both for combat and survival, as he torqued his body, pulled his scythe up, and threw a kick of his own for Beerus' head, with all the force he could muster.
The arm holding his son's sword came out to easily block it, seemingly without effort on the younger god's part, but Kronos had anticipated that. The Titan almost grinned, despite the strain the next move caused, as he focused on the path his body had travelled, and with a might flash from his eyes, he eradicated a small part of time associated with it. The move instantly warping himself behind Beerus in the position he'd been in right before Beerus had appeared and struck out at him, with his scythe clutched in front and his back to his son. It didn't remain that way, though, as with the fastest reflexes he'd ever displayed, he spun his body around and threw his scythe into motion, sending the curved blade hurtling toward his son's exposed neck, hoping – no, pleading – for fate to be kind, and allow him a decapitation.
Destiny decided to laugh at him yet again, for despite the surprise he should've felt at Kronos' move, Beerus was still able to sense him in time and duck beneath his scythe's swing. The Titan's weapon didn't even have time to complete its arc, nor did Kronos have time to adjust, before the oldest of his sons immediately retaliated by swinging back one of his legs without turning around, sending the Titan king's head whipping back, as his heel shot up and slammed into his chin with a resounding CLAP!
"Not a bad trick, but you'll need much better than that, if you have any foolish hopes of defeating me." Beerus remarked with a cruel smirk, as his ears picked up the sound of some teeth breaking, while he looked back and saw the Titan stagger away in pain. The destroyer blissfully soaking in the sight of Kronos clutching his jaw in agony, before he turned around an got ready to continue his assault.
In that moment though, both gods' ears perked up at a horrific sound unlike any they'd ever heard that came from above, which sounded like various atrocious screams melded together with something large being ripped apart, into one abhorrent noise. One that had the two deities briefly glance up, with both of their eyes widening in surprise as they witnessed the sky itself seemingly falling down toward the earth and sea, in titanic, endless, violent waves of blue and undercurrents of yellow, alongside a massive, black storm cloud that'd been twisted and rent. Countless twinkles appearing beneath the surface, both behind and around the cloud, all around the sky.
In no more than the time it would've taken either god to blink, said cloud had enough holes punched through it to dissipate it completely, as the dots that appeared in the sky became more than just twinkles. They became large orbs of bright, white light that came hurtling down with velocity much more tremendous than the infinite heavens towards spaces all around them. One of which even racing down directly toward their position!
The destroyer was quick to remove himself from any shock he felt at the sky's descent, before sending a pulse of his power out toward the orb coming toward them using only his glare, erasing the star racing toward them when it was but only a few dozen metres away. All as countless more orbs just like it struck down around them, both on the land and the water. The bright balls breaking apart the former and sending variously-sized chunks of earth flying left and right with their impact, while sending the boundless ocean into a frenzied state as they smashed beneath the surface.
A heavy CLANG rang out then, as the destroyer's blade came up then to stop another swing from Kronos' scythe, as the Titan seemed to peel himself away from his own surprise, and tried to take advantage of Beerus' seeming distractedness.
"Can't say I expected that to happen." Beerus remarked, before easily blocking his father of this world's follow-up attacks, a series of desperate kicks and further swings of his scythe of all sorts, producing shockwave after shockwave that warped the area around them. The god of destruction keeping most of his attention on the bastard, while his senses picked up the only other battle still taking place besides his own, high up in the heavens, and how a certain other Titan was taking advantage of the newly created chaos to gain the upper-hand against his younger brothers. "It would appear as though that meat-head general of yours had one final trick to pull, quite literally in this case." He said, almost humorously, not as bothered by the absurdity of the sky being pulled down, given this world's utter weirdness he'd already been exposed to. "I might have underestimated his capabilities, it seems. Not that that matters, given he'll lose anyway, just like you will!"
Kronos was suddenly knocked back, seemingly by the force of Beerus' will alone, and left wide open for an assault, ashe saw his son's fist blurring toward his face at speeds he could barely comprehend. With the infinitesimally small moment allotted to him, his eyes flashed a deep crimson with tinges of gold, as he commanded his most major concept to help him, focusing to his utmost in order to freeze the flow of time. Only instead of the whole universe, like with the hundred-handed ones earlier, but to a greater degree, Kronos' power pulsed outward to halt time exclusively where Beerus was, maximising the potency of its effect. All in the hopes of, at the very least, slowing him down enough to avoid his attack, which he was already in the process of trying to lean away from.
BAM! The next thing the Titan knew, Beerus' fist smashed into his face, without a hint of momentum lost! The blow whipping his head back, sending ichor spewing forth from his further stunned, damaged face, as a few more teeth were broken and sent scattering from his maw toward the seawater.
"Ughnk!?..." Wide-eyed and head ringing, Kronos was unable to recover from the disorienting blow in time, before Beerus rose up higher, spun in the air, and delivered a precise, barbarous kick with the sole of his foot to the Titan's abdomen. The attack cracking one of his ribs, as it sent him hurling down into the sea, blasting the deep waters apart into a wide, omnidirectional, almost geyser-like wave, before the younger god quickly materialized beneath where his body shot toward, and bashed his knee into his exposed back. Their opposing momentums making Kronos' body bend back brutally, earning a wheezing gasp from him, as his spine shook greatly from the impact, before he was sent soaring back up, high into the sky.
Beerus appeared next to him again, once his body was raised thousands of kilometres above the sea, where he struck him in the cheek with a nastily-placed palm-thrust that made his entire face ripple from the force, dislodging another golden-blooded tooth from him as he was sent hurtling away with a booming shockwave. His body thrown into an uncontrolled spin, one so swift that, as he flew out far into the distance, he could feel the dizziness setting in alongside the disorientation from the strike to his skull, as his gyrating form smashed through the wave of water created prior. His propelling frame demolishing much of it instantly, with the rest exploding out as stars fell into it, as he continued zooming off like a disk.
It didn't get any better for him in the moment after, when, despite his somewhat blurred vision in the moment, he noticed one of the countless falling stars hurtling directly into his path. One flying in too quick for him in his vulnerable state to properly react to, and thus fell victim to a harsh collision with it. One that saw it burst into countless particles of starlight, as he was sent plummeting back down, crashing through the highly disturbed waters of the unending ocean, where he created another mighty splash, before sinking deep beneath the surface.
"What's the matter? Don't tell me that's all the so-called 'King of the Universe' has to offer!?" Beerus chose to jeer, as he appeared and floated up above the spot where Kronos had plunged into. His expression derisive, as well as filled with a climbing sense of satisfaction the more he finally got his hands on him like this. Not to mention amused at how his own ally's final play above them had worked to his viewing benefit. "With effort like that, I wouldn't be surprised if you secretly wanted me to end you! Come on, you pathetic geezer, at least try to entertain me, before I put you out of your misery!"
Unghf… This bastard is mocking me!... Damn him…! Kronos cursed his progeny mentally, hearing every word of his taunting, even when submerged so deep into the sea, as he managed to reign-in control of his own body.
This wasn't a battle the Titan King could evade, that much was clear, even if it would've been the preferable option, were it possible, no matter how wounding it would've been to his pride. He was stuck with no choice but to fight his eldest son and defeat him, if he wanted to get out of this mess, and given how their fight had gone thus far, his odds weren't looking good.
Nevertheless, Kronos grit his teeth and channelled his anger to help him push on, delving into the deepest recesses of his domain of time, as his malicious aura of crimson flooded off his body in waves. The red and gold glow of his eyes becoming much more pronounced against that of his skin, so much so, that it wouldn't have mattered how deep he'd have sunk beneath the ocean's clutches, his glare would've been visible to his son, who glared back down without a bit of worry.
Kronos' son's gaze didn't change, even when all the water around him, for hundreds of miles in every direction, didn't so much evaporate but corrode away into nothing, leaving neither a drop of liquid or a wisp of steam behind, as a deep, plunging pit formed. One where not even air had survived, and nor had any of the sea critters unfortunately caught within the waves Kronos produced, who spontaneously perished and were quickly bereft of their flesh and skeletons, leaving behind not a trace of their existence. All as the Titan's power refused to allow the infinitely vast ocean surrounding him to flood back into the void of emptiness he'd created.
"The destructive tides of time." Beerus mused unflinchingly, as the waves struck his aura and instantly faded away, as his own destructive nature cancelled them out. "This is the part of your domain that you are the most bonded to of any other aspect of time, that much is clear." The cat-like destroyer remarked, while giving a strange grin that somewhat unsettled Kronos, even as he stared up with hatred at his progeny. "I wonder if you can actually make me crushing you a bit more entertaining, now that you are properly harnessing your element?"
"Cocky little fledgling!" Kronos' voice boomed back with controlled wrath, as he swung his scythe around again and again, sending arc after arc of space-time splitting energy racing toward Beerus.
"This again?" Not impressed, Beerus gave a swing of his own sword, pulsing with his destructive aura, against each as they flew, smashing them apart with ease and reducing them to mere particles of fading red mixed with purple.
Suddenly though, as he destroyed the last with a casual swing of his blade, Kronos warped in front of him, just like he had behind him before, and pure battle instinct alone allowed Beerus to block the punch heading for his midsection using his knee, as he then made to retaliate with a punch of his own.
The strain on Kronos' face increased from what it'd been right after the use of his ability, as he harnessed his domain again, giving Beerus the impression in that moment, before his fist made contact, that he'd use the same trick twice to get behind him again and go for a different attack. And sure enough, that was exactly what happened, with Kronos warping behind him again, with his back to him, as Beerus punched and struck nothing but empty space in front of him.
"Predictable." Beerus said under his breath, as Kronos torqued his body and swung his scythe downward, looking to pierce right through his skull with the curved tip. Said move was blocked, yet again, by Beerus' blade, as he brought the flat of it up above his cranium to intercept the strike. Another metallic CLANG echoing out from the impact, alongside a shockwave, as the more curved blade of the scythe scraped and skidded off his sword, making sparks of red and purple fly, as Beerus flicked his weapon to the side, throwing the scythe and Kronos' stance wide.
When the destroyer turned and swung his leg in retaliation, he gave credit where it was due, when Kronos still had enough wherewithal to spin his body with the momentum Beerus had given him and meet Beerus' kick with one of his own. Kronos' heel meeting Beerus' shin with a harsh-sounding THWACK that clearly had more of an impact on the Titan than it did the Olympian, as the former winced while the latter appeared unfazed. Nevertheless, Kronos ignored whatever pain he'd been caused, as he torqued his body and swung his scythe down again, this time diagonally, toward Beerus' neck.
The god of destruction didn't even both using his blade this time. Instead, he took advantage of the small opening Kronos had foolishly left in his guard for such a swing, to strike out with another palm thrust at his gut, while ducking beneath the curved blade's path. His blow knocking the wind from Kronos' lungs, along with some ichor-infused spittle from his bloody mouth, as the Titan's swing finished, leaving him wide open for another attack without a chance to counter.
At least, that's what Beerus initially thought, but Kronos proved to be a bit craftier than he'd given him credit for, when before he could continue his assault, the Titan's eyes flashed, partially in desperation, and before the destroyer could prepare himself this time, the side of his head was struck. Glancing to where he'd been hit, as his head whipped back a little with a dull ache that quickly started to subside, he saw the flat end of the Titan's scythe. Something which he knew couldn't have moved that quickly to strike him without him knowing, given the Titan's reflexes.
Heh. He used that same trick from before, only on the path his arm moved this time, to reverse the course of his swing. Not half bad for a buffoon. Beerus almost chuckled to himself mentally, as Kronos immediately took advantage of the opening he'd given himself, daring to look excited even, as though victory was in sight, as he turned his weapon around. The act leaving the curved blade poised behind Beerus' neck again, as he attempted to decapitate him, by wrenching it back with all force he could.
"Not a bad attempt." Beerus commented, as the blade WHOOSHED byabove him, as he ducked just in time. His hard gaze meeting Kronos' again, as he smiled predatorily. "But if you really expect it to be that easy to beat me, after landing a shot like that, then you're even more foolish than I thought!"
With that exclaimed, Beerus flipped himself in the air and struck down on Kronos' dome with a skull-scrambling shot using his heel, sending the upper half of the Titan's body into a highly uncomfortable bow, with his scythe and arms above his head. The destroyer then followed up by pumping his knees up to his chest, before thrusting his legs back down with immense force, crashing his feet into Kronos' upper back with a dropkick that sent the Titan King soaring down at an angle, body bent into itself into another section of the ocean. His body's impact causing a massive burst in its watery mass, as well as crushing through a star that'd recently crashed inside, reducing it to countless flecks of light before it and the body of liquid fell to the same fate as the section of water that Kronos' aura had dealt with passively prior. Both being corroded away into nothingness alongside yet more fish and other creatures, who were not of divine status.
Damn… it… This… isn't going to… work!... Kronos thought to himself in agony, feeling his spine nearly crunch into fragments from his son's last blow, as he steadily brought himself to a stop, within the increasing void of lifelessness his magic was created around him, keeping the domain of his bastard brother Oceanus away from him. If I'm to have… any chance at winning here… I'm going to have to start using the parts of my power… that strain me the most! The ones I didn't dare use… against those ugly, giant brothers of mine… given how much I'd have opened myself up to a counter from one of them, after using them on another, which could've easily spelled my doom…
In a one-on-one against his monstrous son, instead of a one-on-three against those gargantuan behemoths, the negatives may well be outweighed completely by the positives, despite the power his son possessed. Except in the case of one of his abilities, given how dangerous every fibre of his being always screamed at him that it was, any time he thought about it. But even then, he was willing to try it, if the situation was desperate enough. Even if it meant ignoring his own instincts that told him not to.
Regardless, if nothing else, he was out of options otherwise. He either spent every last move he had here to have a chance at victory, or allowed himself to succumb to defeat like a weak, feeble-minded spirit would.
The choice, if one could even call it that, was as clear as the purest air above, in the endless heavens.
Meanwhile, floating in the same spot from where he'd sent his father of this world, Beerus took the time to take a quick glance up at the sky again, while his senses kept track of Kronos' location. The destroyer taking note of the more chaotic waves of the sky, as it continued tumbling down, seeing how the elements above were being pulled in another direction now, causing the stars to fall down at a different angle.
He didn't bother wishing his brothers good luck, even mentally, for he was certain they would come out on top, regardless of what Atlas pulled against them. He was a slight bit curious though, when his senses told him that Hyperion's sister-wife Theia was still at large. She should've been beaten like the rest had been, yet was still in her True Divine Form, from what he could feel, and also didn't appear to be hostile, either, which was intriguing, given he could feel she was right next to Styx. Had she surrendered, perhaps? If so, then he could very well say that she at least had more brains than her husband did, anyhow.
In any case, he'd concern himself with that later. Right now, he had a bastard that needed to be firmly put in his place and punished for what he'd done.
"Grrrrraaaaaaaaagh!"
Speaking of… Beerus thought to himself, hearing such an intense battle-cry, as his sights returned to where he'd sent Kronos, his senses letting him know he was still a fair distance away, as the Titan's crimson aura ballooned outward. The red waves striking against him and being reduced to purple particles, whilst the liveliness of the air and water deadened and faded away, leaving even more of a void behind in Kronos' wake.
And then, the Titan came barrelling toward him, his scythe held in one hand and looking ready for a swing, as he flew closer and closer at speeds so great, that a lesser god would've found it nigh-impossible to keep track of him. Beerus saw him coming just fine, though, and entered into a readied stance to counter whatever charge he came in with.
As soon as he saw the Titan's eyes flash like before, however, he began to anticipate the same trick from before, warping himself behind him using his temporal powers, in the vein hopes of landing a sneaky shot on him.
That was, of course, until the Titan thrust his weapon ahead of him, practically flinging it in a wild spin over to Beerus himself! A move that had the god of destruction watching in disbelief at the sheer stupidity and absurdity of it, wondering what the hell he planned to achieve doing something like that, and if he hadn't already lost it.
The destroyer got his answer, when in the next instant, his head suddenly whipped back. A loud BANG resounding, as his face was struck by something hard and fast, almost sending him flying back with the burst of another shockwave!
Widening his eyes somewhat, only slightly pained, thanks to his destructive aura erasing most of the force behind it, Beerus threw his gaze right back to see the figure of Kronos right next to him, instead of the fair distance he'd been. An arm outstretched and with his hand balled into a fist, which had clearly been what'd cracked him in the face, while the other outstretched and was open behind him, latching on to the shaft of the scythe as it spun into his reach.
"Be gone, vile progeny of mine!" Kronos cried out, as his scythe came dropping down in a blur, tip aimed directly for Beerus' chest to run him through. The Titan King evidently praying that he'd disoriented him long enough to make him unable to react in time, so that he could end this quickly, just as he'd tried before.
"Try not to get too excited, Kronos." The destroyer's eyes narrowed, as his blade came swiping up to intercept, knocking the scythe off course completely, before he pulled a leg back and thrust it forward, slamming his foot into Kronos' rib cage for his efforts. A harsh, pained gasp flying from the Titan's mouth, along with ichor, as two of his ribs were cracked with a nasty crunching sound and he was sent shooting backward. Beerus being quick to get ahead, materializing behind the Titan with his foot raised high and ready to bash his face inward with an axe kick when he got within perfect range.
Despite the pain from Beerus prior attack, along with his other ones before it, which hadn't healed in the slightest, Kronos' eyes flashed brighter, as he came within range, letting go of his scythe for a brief instant, as the space around him and Beerus warped, from his perspective. The strain showing in every detail upon his features, as his body suddenly went from flying back at an angle, with his back near parallel to the chaotic sea being constantly pelted by stars beneath him, to being flipped backward with the front of his foot crashing into the god of destruction's face. The impact almost deafening, as it managed to snap Beerus' head back again, delaying his own prepared attack from being swung.
Going under the assumption that his son wasn't stunned this time, Kronos followed up by focusing once again, his eyes flashing as his body seemingly skipped all motion, from the outside world's perspective, and simply just appeared above Beerus. From there, he launched into a flurry of rapid-fire strikes all around Beerus, mainly targeting his head and torso. Thunderous CLAP after CLAP ringing out, as Kronos threw his all into every blow, from punches, elbows and axe-handle strikes, to knees, front-kicks and side-kicks. His body a mixture of full motion and of skipped motion, as roughly half of his attacks travelled the full path to their target, while the other half, whenever Beerus looked like he was about to block or counter it, suddenly struck into him without any time passing between the attack being thrown and landing.
Beerus' body jerked left, right and centre throughout this pummelling, with his head also being snapped in near every direction possible. Throughout it all, though, his vision never once blurred, and whatever damage he took, wasn't enough to get anymore than light gasps and grunts out of him, as his eyes followed Kronos no matter where he went. And as this retaliatory beating went on, the destroyer took note of the increasing amount of veins beginning to appear all over the Titan's injured body, from head-to-toe, pulsating madly and in some cases popping, as Kronos' efforts were taking their toll on him.
It was obvious Kronos was well aware of this fact too, for before long, he appeared above the god of destruction, letting out a war-cry that nearly cracked his own warped voice, as he stomped down on his face with all his strength! The blow actually sending Beerus' body flying downward from him, to which, at that point, Kronos grabbed his scythe once more, and the glow of his eyes intensified, as he focused on Beerus.
Immediately, he felt an overwhelming resistance nearly too strong to overcome and grit his teeth, both in agony and annoyance, as ichor began to spontaneously spill from his eyes, due to the mounting strain of what he was doing. His body feeling a thousand times heavier than it had before, when he used the destructive tides of time on himself to escape being squashed by the Hekatonkheires. His mind and soul, meanwhile, feeling like both were being stretched to their absolute limits.
Despite this, however, he pushed through it all, causing even more blood to pool away from his glowing eyes, as he homed in on the path that'd been travelled, not by himself, but by Beerus, and with a harsh-sounding roar, his eyes flashed brightly, as most of said path was immediately erased. The process of which, like it'd done for him, causing Beerus body to warp right back to mere metres away from Kronos, who despite feeling like complete shit in that moment, also felt a sense of exhilaration, as he swung his scythe down to shred his son apart, prophecy be damned.
The Titan snarled, however, when Beerus once again, somehow managed to react in time, wrenching his sword up and slamming the flat of its metal hide against the middle of the curved blade, breaking the scythe's momentum and stopping it just short of puncturing his chest. A shower of red and purple particles flying between them from their clashing auras, as Kronos tried to force it regardless, but Beerus soundly kept the tip away from so much as grazing him.
"You… damn brat!..." Kronos cursed, spittle and ichor flying out in equal amounts, as Beerus, using one arm as opposed to him using both of his, fully repelled what should've been his battle-ending blow, and sent his scythe and arms flying right back above his head with a tremendous THOOM! A counter that nearly sent Kronos' weapon spinning out of his hands altogether, were it not for the Titan King's extra-hard grip. "How do you keep stopping me!?"
Not even giving his son a chance to retort to his words,Kronosfocused in and did what he'd been doing to keep himself in some semblance of control, zoning in on the path he had yet to take, rather than one already taken and erasing it, as he briefly let his scythe vanish this time. All so that he could smash down a double hammer-fist on Beerus' chest, sending him rocketing down. From there, he made his body suddenly warp again, appearing below Beerus instantly and halting his downward momentum with a vicious kick to the back, ploughing his foot into his son's spine, making his body bend awkwardly and earning another light gasp of actual pain from the deity.
Enough is enough. This is where it ends. This is where I finish you, even with your boon granted by the Ophiotaurus, and my father's blasted prophecy working against me! The Titan King thought, convincing himself that he was going to win, as his eyes flashed one more time, allowing him to appear above Beerus again instantaneously, delivering the hardest haymaker he'd ever thrown in his life into the god's face. The punch snapping his head sideways and finally earning him a glob of ichor that wasn't his launching from his ultimate foe's maw, all the while, his scythe reformed in his other hand. The Titan then smashing the butt of it into the side of his skull full force for good measure, cracking his twisted head back and taking his upper body with it this time.
This left the destroyer seemingly, completely vulnerable at a perfect angle for a clean swing, which Kronos' didn't hesitate to take. The crooked Titan throwing all of his weight behind it while calling on every last bit of speed he could manage, sending the sharp tip directly for the destroyer's side, intent on cutting him in half like a blade of grass, as he roared in defiance of the fate handed down to him.
As if to mock him once again, though, fate itself might as well have roared back, as Beerus growled, and rather than teleport away or use his sword to block or deflect, he did the unthinkable, just as the tip of the scythe came within barely an inch of piercing his flesh. Reaching out with his hand as the curved blade rushed forth, and using only two fingers, the ex-GOD of Universe 7 caught the scythe on its flat sides, just before the sharp tip touched his hip, halting all of its momentum and simultaneously locking it in place!
"Wh-What!?" Kronos exclaimed, looking as shocked as he had when he'd been let known that his plan with the Ophiotaurus had been known about and turned against him. For in all the time he'd been the owner of it, no one, not a single soul, would've ever been so brazen as to catch his weapon by the blade during its swing. "How-gaaaahhk!"
Kronos was cut off from saying another word, instead letting out an agonized scream, when Beerus seized the opening and didn't hesitate to thrust forth with his own blade, cutting deep through the Titan King's flesh just above his pelvis, running him through right out to his back. The sword of destruction only narrowly missing the lower-most part of his spine, as its celestial metal came bursting out the other side of the Titan of time, not causing even a drop of ichor to come free, as it erased it all on contact, while launching out several feet from Kronos' back.
"How did I stop your overgrown gardening tool so easily? Is that what you wanted to ask?" Beerus asked in a cold, mocking tone, as he pulled the scythe up and away from him with just his fingers, while staring down the stunned and scared Kronos right in his eyes, watching the fear in them blossom to another level, as he saw that his son was mostly unfazed from his attacks. "Leaving aside how painfully predictable each attack of it is, you're simply just not strong or fast enough to make it actually troublesome."
"B-But you-ack!..." Kronos tried, but failed to speak, as Beerus forced a gargled noise of torment from him, by giving the blade lodged into him a savage twist. A motion that caused a grisly sound of crunching and grinding of flesh, organs and bone, as they all began to be shredded into and eradicated from within. A scenario that was essentially a gruesome form of torture for the unfortunate ruler of the Universe to endure.
"If you're wondering why I've only been using this sword of mine to stop it up until now, it's simply because I felt like it. I could've used my hand to catch it like this from the start, if I'd wanted to." He said, each word surging with the utmost of cruelty and disdain for his existence, as he sneered at him. "Too bad that power you're pulling from your domain to destroy distance can't be performed in the more offensive variant you've been using, while you're holding that scythe. Otherwise, why get rid of it every time you pulled that time trick to start landing hits on me, when you didn't do the same with its defensive version?"
Kronos now looked just as alarmed as he did fearful, with his strained and pained expression. "Wah-Wait… you know what-akhk!... I've been doing…?"
"I've known what you've been doing from the start." Beerus replied curtly, a faint glow of gold leaking out from his glowing, purple eyes, as he gave Kronos a toothy smile of a carnivore staring down trapped prey. "Hard not to, when I now share the same domain as you."
"Puhlk!..." Just as soon as that last sentence left his mouth, Beerus' fist ploughed into Kronos' chin, without any of the motion present from his prior attacks. The force whipping up a gnarly shockwave that, even as compressed and focused as it was, was still felt throughout a vast area, making both the air around them and the water well beneath explode away as a side-effect, as the uppercut firmly smashed the Titan's jaw to pieces. Almost all of his remaining teeth being crushed in a spritz of golden blood, as his lower-jaw caved inward and his head flung back, all as the sword that'd been left behind, running through his body, faded away in the same shower of purple particles that floated out from the wound it made, instead of blood.
H-He shares… my domain…? Was the prevailing thought in the Titan King's terrified mind, as his son let go of his scythe, and allowed him to fall back away from him. A horrid ringing going on in his ears, as he felt his own brain taking a beating within his skull from the after-effect of such a brutal impact, making his vision incredibly blurry, in that moment.
Though his vision had blurred, however, with his head upturned away from the ocean, glowing from the countless stars that'd fallen into it, the Titan was still able to recognise that the sky was no longer falling toward the earth and ocean, and had been set back to its normal state, at some point. Something which didn't last even the briefest of moments after he'd seen the clear, blue ether of Aether in the heavens, before a considerable darkness descended, as a seemingly endless, swirling black cloud soon blotted out the light coming from anything other than the branches of lightning coursing through it.
"Ah, it seems those three are wrapping up their fight with your general." Beerus commented casually, never having doubted them for a second, as he glanced back and up in the direction where he could feel the battle between his brothers and Atlas was coming to an end. His gaze catching sight of Poseidon being in a super-sized form made from the sea, trident in-hand and ready to strike, with Zeus quickly joining him, bulging out from the pitch-black storm cloud in an identical shade with comparable size to Poseidon. All with a fist reared back, pulsing with enough power that it was clear his thunderbolt had been submerged into his cloudy arm. And meanwhile, Hades appeared to have the massive brute of a Titan they'd been battling restrained and, for all pretence and purpose, ready for temporary execution.
Kronos realized this too, after a beat, when his senses stretched back out toward them, and his vision cleared up a little, but there was precious little he could do to help him, even if he wanted to. All he could do, was watch, as his most powerful and faithful ally was slung right into the path of what he could feel was his two youngest sons' final attacks, which they both launched without mercy, striking the bound Titan of endurance at the same time.
Once this happened, the Titan King felt it in his bones and very spirit itself, as much as he certain the rest of the universe felt it, as land, sea, sky, and even the underworld itself, down to the deepest pits of Tartarus, he was sure, endured a cataclysmic shockwave like no other! One which reverberated in all corners of the endless world they lived in, and cast a blindingly bright light that seemed to backdrop the very foundations of reality itself shaking more ferociously than any prior moment during this war. The blast wave throwing even his own senses off-balance momentarily, as it crashed against him and Beerus.
It didn't throw them off enough, however, for him to not feel Atlas' presence vanish in the light, as he was no doubt obliterated on the physical plane. And who wouldn't be, when taking such an overwhelmingly strong pincer attack, such as that? This kind of combined power was ludicrous!
"A little bit too flashy for my tastes, but quite effective, nonetheless." Said the god of destruction, utterly unbothered by the force of shockwave, unlike the weakened Titan King, as he turned back to face him. "Now then, with him gone, that just leaves you." Malice leaked from every syllable uttered, as Beerus' whole body was coated in a much thicker form of his aura than before. One that was so soul-crushingly frightening to Kronos' senses, as his spawn put all his focus into it, that he subconsciously backed away with a look of horror in his eyes. "Better prepare yourself to suffer some more, Kronos, because I'm not done punishing you yet, for what you've done!"
The Titan god of time flinched back even more, fear gripping his heart now to a degree that made any prior instance feel tame, as his son launched forward. A soft, but almost mesmerizing golden hue rising beneath his immense, dark-purple aura alongside the glint that showed in his eyes, as he crossed the distance with an added burst of speed. One of his fists rearing back for a punch that, despite the god's words, felt like it spelled doom for the Titan King. And it was that exact feeling that it gave him, which spurred the Titan to retaliate, more desperate than ever to survive. His crimson aura blazing at its highest in response, becoming thicker around him and his malefic weapon than any time before, as his power, his domain of time, was channelled to its utmost, as he let out a remarkably clear war-cry and swung his scythe with all his might.
Beerus didn't even try to move out of its way. Instead, he chose to do something that Kronos would've thought baffling of anyone else to do, and swung his aura-coated fist in response, meeting the tip of his weapon with his middle knuckle! An act that would've otherwise seen anyone else half their arm torn through, along with their spirit, instead saw his fist resist and push back against the scythe, without so much as his skin being breached. All as destructive force of nature met destructive force of nature in the ultimate, space-time bending collision, where sparks of purple, red and gold flew by with an almighty sounding KHOOOM!
Perhaps it had something to do with the shockwave previous from Zeus and Poseidon's final attacks, or perhaps it was purely down to the raw might of two forces of pure destruction clashing so intensely, but the space all around the two deities for miles on end did more than warp. After a moment, it crinkled like paper being bunched into a crude ball, then cracked like a window that had a stone thrown hard against it, spreading out quickly before, finally, with a deafening loud sound vaguely similar to the breaking of glass, that large space shattered around the two in an instant!
Wh-What the…The resulting reaction caught Kronos off-guard, as he and his son separated from their clash, gaining some distance from the other. The Titan Lord's eyes wide as they swerved around with his head, noticing that his surroundings had suddenly changed completely, and where once had been the world he'd known, he now floated with his son in what appeared to be a different dimension entirely. One that confused his senses and appeared no matter where he looked, to be a kaleidoscope of endless colours, both familiar and unfamiliar to his eyes, with countless shapes floating all around that were both recognisable and unrecognisable, fusing and defusing with each other to form even more bizarre constructs.
"Well, this is new. Never had this happen during a battle before." Beerus opined, referring both to this life and his previous one, unbeknownst to Kronos. Curiosity shining in his eyes, as he too took a brief look around at where they were, taking note of the colours and shapes present within, as well as the fact that there didn't appear to be an exit, despite them having crashed into this random dimension unintentionally through brute force.
Beerus quickly shrugged off that last part, as if they'd got in through brute force, then he could get out through the same. This was no more than a change of scenery, as far as he was concerned, as his focus immediately shifted back to Kronos, as he propelled himself forward.
Kronos, sensing this, left aside the fact they'd somehow sent themselves elsewhere from their own world, and was quick to swing his scythe forth, projecting an arc of crimson energy that barely made it ten feet from him before his son simply barged through it like it wasn't even there! His aura of destruction allowing him to do so without even bothering to throw an actual attack at it this time, as he pushed right into Kronos' startled guard. His fist burying itself into his gut, right down to the forearm, as he drove all the wind from his lungs and the blood from his broken mouth, bending him over his arm before the force fully caught up, and sent the Titan shooting back violently!
"Garkhk!..." On the unwanted path, Kronos frame actually crashed through dozens of those shapes he'd seen, smashing them to pieces like he would any physical part of his own universe, while carving a path through the countless shades that made up this strange dimension. All as purple particles soared out from the hole that'd been added to his torso. Another wound which would not heal, and which he could feel the damage done to his intestines and ribs within, two of the later having caved in while part of the former was pulverised. The pain from it, alongside his other injuries so far, being indescribable.
"Here, have some more!" Beerus called out, now behind him, as he drove a knee into his back, almost ripping his spine in two, as he sent him flying down like a rocket toward what could only be called a thin 'ground', for lack of a better term, made up of more shapes and colours. All of which burst apart into innumerable shards of rainbow-like shades, as Kronos hurtled further down, before Beerus appeared below him, turning himself upside-down almost, as he thrust a devastating kick into his mangled, vein-riddled face. His foot crushing most of the upper part of his jaw, as the blow snapped his whole body upward and sent him soaring back up skyward at speeds far beyond light, crashing through yet more shapes while carving more of a path through the colours of the realm with his increasingly brutalized body.
Despite feeling his brain shaking roughly in his skull, turning more and more into goop by the second, the Titan still had enough wherewithal to realize that he was no longer under Beerus' barrier, at the moment. For that was back in their world, and not whatever this dimension was. With that knowledge, undeniably out of fright, Kronos attempted to focus back to the world they'd come from. All in the hopes that he could materialize himself back there in a safe spot away from anyone else, where he could leave his ascended state and hide away from those seeking his absolute downfall, before his eldest son followed him. Get himself genuine time to plan again, especially away from any conflict with this monster of a son he'd helped spawn, until the time was right to make his move again and reclaim all that he'd lost.
Surprisingly enough, his senses were able to detect his world, even from within here. What shocked him, however, was that as soon as he tried to lock on to a specific spot in the underworld and shift his being over to there, his body refused to dematerialize for him, even though he was no longer held back by his son's barrier! A notion that was as deeply confounding as it was distressing and terror-inducing.
"Have you already forgotten again what I told you?" His son's voice echoed in his ringing ears, as a hand grabbed the Titan's face, stopping any further ascent on his part, before he was pulled up to be eye-to-eye with his feline-looking progeny, who looked down upon him with every bit of condescension possible. "You really are a buffoon, you know that? Don't tell me, even after I told you that you couldn't, that you honestly believed you could escape me?"
Kronos wished he could scream 'Screw you!' or 'Damn you' at the destroyer, but unfortunately for him, all he could manage, was a messy gurgle with his mouth and jaw smashed apart, as he swiped away Beerus' hand on instinct. The deity looking at him with a dark kind of amusement, as he backed away, before winding his arms back beyond his head, both hands clutching his scythe tight, and swung it down on his tormentor.
"Hmph. Pathetic." Raising but a single finger coated in aura this time, Beerus stopped the tip of the curved blade from coming down on the top of his head. The tip, like with his knuckle, failing to pierce even slightly through his skin, though that certainly didn't stop the wounded Titan from fruitlessly trying to force it through the thick aura that surrounded his appendage. "And here I thought before I battled you that this weapon of yours would be an issue for me. Perhaps it could've been, if you were actually on my level. Sadly for you, though, you're anything but."
With that stated callously, in a move that humorously reminded him of his first meeting with Son Goku, Beerus flicked the weapon away with ease, finally sending it flying in a tailspin out of Kronos hands and well off into the distance. The very same weapon that'd reduced Ouranos to a bodiless state and rendered his mother of this world into a pitiful state laying in unconscious agony upon Crete, until he'd undone the damage.
"H-Hnngh!?" If it were possible, Kronos looked even more shook then before. Then again, it was doubtful anyone else would be different in his position, after having the hardest attack they could throw repelled so casually.
To his minor credit, though, rather than remain there, looking stunned out of his mind, Kronos' eyes glowed before he lashed out. One of his fists suddenly going from by his side, to being ploughed into the side of Beerus' face, tilting his head in the direction his punch went without a fraction of time passing in-between.
Beerus' grin was feral then, as he glared back at him, completely unfazed by the blow. His eyes glowing a hint of gold alongside purple, as he gave a dark chuckle that sent shivers down the remainder of the Titan King's spine. "My turn."
"Puhk!?..." Ichor hurtled away from the remains of Kronos' mouth as he was suddenly struck not once, but three times simultaneously around his chest. The sensation of his remaining ribs caving in alongside his sternum being all too clear to him, as his body shot back, out of his control, blasting through hundreds of those strange shapes in a single bound. His immense velocity backward, coupled with the shockwave that came about from him being sent flying again somewhat distorting the array of endless colours around him this time, as his body carved a deeper trench through them.
Beerus didn't even wait for him to slow down or stop, as he appeared mere feet away from his careening form, flying right in front of him no less, and reared an arm back for another punch. And though the Titan should've known it was pointless, after his last punch proved ineffective, his eyes still flashed, as he summoned his power, making more veins around his highly injured body pop aggressively.
Beerus, having predicted he would, had his own eyes flash, as both erased the path their blow would travel, Kronos' punch striking Beerus in his temple, to absolutely no effect, whilst Beerus struck Kronos' temple as well. The difference showing immediately, as the Titan's head snapped back savagely, his neck nearly breaking as his skull was badly cracked, and was sent flying back even faster than before, crashing through many more floating shapes along the way and sending their fragments bounding away.
Rather than chase him this time, Beerus added further insult to injury, as he tapped in to the domain that'd once been Kronos' alone. That which he knew for certain had been the domain from back during his first lesson with Gaea, that'd also called out to him nearly as much as the domain of destruction he'd chosen, and which had been granted to him with full knowledge of it by the Ophiotaurus' boon, as his eyes flashed brightly. The next instant seeing Kronos' body warp back a mere two metres away from him, as he erased the path the Titan's body had been travelling.
The strain that came with doing so was easy for the god of destruction to handle, as he reared back for another ruinous punch. And to his amazement, regardless of the damage he'd done to him, Kronos demonstrated a degree of resilience that almost got him a sliver of respect from Beerus, as despite his severe disorientation, he had enough awareness left to recognize the position he was in. And as he did, his scythe, which'd previously been flung out of his hands, returned to his grasp.
Heh. You never learn, do you? The destroyer thought to himself, watching the Titan's aura come to life fully around his weapon, as he swung it down to meet Beerus' powerful punch. Their auras clashing once again, causing the entire area around them to bend and warp from the impact, before a bright light erupted in their vision, accompanied by the vague sound of space-time shattering like glass.
When the light disappeared, the world of endless colours and shapes appeared to go with it, as the two were transported back inside of the universe, likely after having destroyed whatever that dimension had been. Their location being different from before, however, as Beerus overwhelmed Kronos' power, sending both him and his weapon racing down like a comet toward a familiar mountain's peak, where the Titan of time promptly smashed through magic-enforced rock. His body coming to a slow after tumbling uncontrollably along the ground he now found himself on, his scythe dropping out of his hands again, clanging against the stone floor a fair bit away from him, before he came to a rough stop with his back slamming against a throne, which crumbled under his weight.
A weak wheeze left the Titan then, as he was laid out uncomfortably over the rubble of said throne. His body feeling so heavy despite being in a ascended state, that he struggled to move as he lay atop it, battered and beaten.
"Well, would you look at that. We've come full circle, haven't we?" Beerus stated with amusement, as he floated in and touched down in the very same throne room he'd first broke himself, his siblings and Metis out of, after punching his way through his father's gut and effectively declaring war on him and his allies afterwards. "I see you rebuilt it completely, thrones and all, after my 'renovation' of it. You know, it's not too shabby, now that I can take the time to look around, even if it's not to my personal tastes." He continued, taking the time to look around Kronos and his kin's throne room within Othrys, as he walked forward, calmly and casually heading straight for the downed Titan.
Said Titan shook vehemently, as he tried to force himself off the crumbled remains of what he could tell was his throne. His personal one, rather than the one inherited from his father. His body struggling to respond to his commands, but with enough coaxing, he was able to make roll off the rubble of his throne, putting him unto shaky hands and knees. From there, he pushed himself up, remarkably managing to stumble to his feet, even if barely, by the time Beerus had crossed most of the distance between them with his steady strides.
"Ah. You can still stand, huh? Not bad, even if it's a waste of effort." The feline-looking deity told him, as he came to a stop a few feet away from him.
Kronos, despite the fear that consumed him, did his best to growl at his son, even if it came out more like a gurgled hiss, what with the state of his maw, as he slouched forward, unable to keep a proper posture, as his arms hung down by his sides.
"Oh, don't give me that attitude. Acting as if you hadn't earned this with your actions." Beerus scoffed, though no real offence was taken. He was much too pleased with the beating he'd put on him to feel such a thing at this juncture. "Speaking of your actions, by the way." The destroyer quickly turned, looking out through the walls Kronos' body had punched through, widening the entrance to the throne-room while leaving a perfect view to the outside, as more of the outer-wall crumbled apart. "There's one last action of yours I want you to see the ramifications of, before I put you down for good."
N-No… It can't… end like this…! The Titan Lord mentally screeched, at his limit's edge, but still filled with an unyielding desire to not go down as his father had foretold. His hopes of winning in battle dashed, but his hope that this whole situation could be reverted, had not.
And that was due to one option still remaining for him. One that instantly brought back a sensation of dread at the consequences that could, and most likely would come of using, but Kronos ignored it. The elder Titan no longer caring for caution or his own safety and security, now that he was faced with imminent doom if he didn't pull the only trick his domain had left, which could save him from the horrid fate his son would bring.
To avoid this, and in fact the whole war itself from ever happening, even if it meant fucking up reality in the process, he could call upon his domain to send himself back into the past. He could time-travel all the way back to when Rhea had first birthed this monster of a son, and rip him apart as a baby with his scythe, like he should've done the first time. And for good measure, he'd do the same to his daughter Hestia, as well as Rhea, to make sure his past self could never impregnate her with the rest of his unwanted children.
That's it. He'd ultimately come out the victor that way! He'd –
SPLOOOOURCH!
"Ugghn!..." Eyes bulging out in surprise and further pain, Kronos glanced down shakily, eying the arm now pierced through his chest, as he felt his back being burst through yet again, this time with his heart having been reduced to pulpy bits of golden flesh that sprayed out as far back as the backwall, as well as on the remains of his throne, as Beerus' glowing, but bloodied fist protruded out the other end. The god having moved closer at some point and returned his attention to him, as Kronos could do little, other than look back up into his radiant pools of purple, with hints of gold.
"A reminder, seeing as you're getting quite forgetful. I share the same domain as you now, Kronos, so I know what you're capable of with it, and what you'd undoubtedly be willing to do with it, desperate as you are, if it meant you had a chance of escaping me." Beerus laid out flatly, feeling an extra level of disgust and annoyance when he saw the look he got back for his statement. "There's not going to be any time-travelling here, I assure you. You've done enough damage as it is, without bringing something as dangerous as that into the equation."
The entire clusterfuck with that Trunks kid and Zamasu came back to mind, as he said this, and Beerus internally cringed at the mess that'd resulted from that. One that involved a future timeline, which never should've existed as it did, being nuked in its entirety, and Goku bringing back a second Omni-King into the fray, when one was more than enough to have had to deal with!
Shaking his head to rid himself of thinking back to that sequence of events, Beerus raised his voice loud enough for it boom out to an absurd distance, and be easily catchable to the trio awaiting his signal. "Oi! Briareus! Kottus! Gyges! It's time!"
"Grrgh!... Hmmnh!?..." Sounds of horror, as far as Beerus could tell, flew from Kronos' throat at such a call, as his wide eyes glared at him, before him looking out across his shoulder, through the holes on Othrys' fortress, as his still ringing ears picked up the unmistakeable, not to mention stomach-churning sound of earth rumbling and shifting loudly in the distance.
It didn't take long for his eyes to be introduced to what his ears were hearing. That being the sight of an enormous, sloping wave of earth rising up high and wide, as it hurtled toward Othrys, with his three hundred-handed, fifty-headed giants for brothers riding the top of it! Each of the three grinning rabidly at what they were about to do, as the one in the centre, Briareus, hollered out back to Beerus.
"It's time, indeed! You almost had us wondering if you'd forgotten about us!" The giant laughed, as he and his brothers willed the wave of aura-packed earth on, making it ascend in height, to the point it began to tower over Othrys, ready to swallow it whole. "Hope you have that bastard brother of ours ready to watch his stronghold be annihilated right before his eyes!"
"Oh, he'll see it, alright!" Beerus smirked back at the gleeful Hekatonkheire and his brothers, whilst his aura flexed, soon enveloping Kronos and devouring his own aura in the process, as he futilely grabbed his forearm wretchedly. The terrified Titan trying and failing to remove Beerus' arm from his chest, as if that would even help him, whilst feeling the horrible sensation of having any attempted usage of his powers destroyed the instant that he tried to bring them out, even in his horribly weak state.
The Titan King was impotent to do much, other than watch the massive earth-wave rush toward his mountain, his home, and crash into it a moment later with a blaring FHOOOSH! The mighty wave crushing its way through every wall and foundation of his fortress, as it soon bashed into both Beerus and himself, only thanks to his son's aura, they were both left unaffected physically from the carnage such a force of nature brought with it.
A part of Kronos wished it had been able to affect him, for then he wouldn't have had to witness his abode being eviscerated in real time, as the wave passed through the mountain, and Kronos swore he could even feel the mountain itself tipping over from the force exerted against it. This despite all the divine protection put over it, more so than even the fortress itself, which before his eyes, was ripped apart brick by brick, leaving nothing behind, other than worthless rubble that blasted out all across the mountain to the earth and sea below. Even his scythe was swept up and away, and despite his calls for it, not even it answered back to him anymore, as it was flung somewhere far off into the distance.
By the time the wave had fully past by, while the mountain managed to remain standing, if barely, his stronghold wasn't so fortunate. Little more than chunks and scraps of stone remaining atop Mount Othrys, as the only reminder that a grand structure had once existed atop it, whilst he and Beerus floated in the air, above the remains.
"This is what happens to those who cross me, Kronos. If nothing else, you can act as an example for anyone who dares to foolishly earn the wrath of Lord Beerus." The feline-looking deity declared emphatically, before wrenching his arm back from the Titan Lord's chest, pulling it away from Kronos' clingy hands, while gripping his shoulder with his other hand.
Taking a step back, Beerus outstretched the arm he'd just gored the Titan with toward him, his palm facing his broken face with his thumb curled inward, as he took a familiar stance that felt all too natural to him. The god then uttering the final word that Kronos ever heard, before a bright, purple light overtook him, cutting off his panicked screams forever, as he soon knew nothing but the void, and his presence forever disappeared from the world.
"Hakai!"
AND CUT!
Well, hot damn! This saga is finally over! After delay upon delay, it's finally out!
It's been a wild ride getting to this point, I'll say that much! Almost can't believe that it's finally over, but it is. The first saga of this story has finally concluded, and hopefully, for all of you, in a satisfying fashion, especially given how long I've made you wait for it, with my tardy ass, even if there's reasons behind it. Honestly can't believe you fine folks put up with me, but I'm grateful that you have, and you stuck around to see this silly story of mine get to this point. From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank you enough for that.
For those wondering, yep. That dimension they flung themselves into briefly, was the very same one that Gogeta and Broly did, during the Broly movie, because why the hell not? Thought I might as well do something different, other than what has become the generic 'shaking the universe' feat, which I gave to Beerus' brothers.
For those of you wondering when the next chapter will be out(like actually out, no delays this time, I swear), I'll be putting the date window up soon. Trust that you won't have to wait an absurd length of time this time(sorry, again) as most of it is done already. I just need to finish it off in the free-time I have from IRL stuff, and it'll be good to go.
Anyways, again, I hope you all got some enjoyment out of this chapter, and I'll see you all again in the next one!
