The Olympian God of Destruction:
Chapter 43: Seed of Destruction III.
The rest of Beerus' day after his meeting with that strange, but unique visitor from another universe seemingly went by in a flash.
He'd met up with Hades again, not long after, and had a brief talk with his favourite brother once more. He'd been sure not to give much away, but enough to sate his pale-skinned sibling's curiosity some, on the wandering soul that'd made his way into this reality, and put the subject to bed.
After that? Well, he'd mostly relaxed, as he brought himself around his palace and the courtyard, in a casual stroll. The latter exposing him to the fact that the sun was still not up in the sky, and that Helios' chariot – as well as his sister's – and horses were very much still parked where they'd been, which meant the 2nd generation Titan was either down for the count, still, or had awoken, but chosen not to do much, with whatever hangover he was dealing with.
Speaking of that, many of the gods and goddesses had indeed, inevitably, woken up. All of them still somewhat under the influence of the nectar, as they'd stumbled about, speech slurred, utterly confused at their surroundings.
Others, numbering just as many, if not more, could hardly move at all, locked so deeply in coitus when their consciousness had slipped, and thus, their sluggish movements did them no favours in getting up from where they lay, let alone move around.
Some of the latter, still horny while intoxicated, had the audacity to go right back to what they'd been doing, before going to sleep, uncaring for who saw them, as they engaged in awkward and uncoordinated sex.
Not wanting to have his peace ruined, but in a good enough mood not to be more rough with them, Beerus had used his domain of time, which was interlinked with space, to casually create a portal beneath each couple he came across doing so, or too inebriated to remove themselves from their coupling. His spatial construct having them immediately sink and sending them through and out of his sight. The deities being dropped somewhere on land, off of Olympus, where they had all the time in the world to fully recover their senses, without being any cause of irritation for him.
It didn't take long before nearly half of Olympus' residents for the celebration had been removed from the majestic mountain's lofty peak that pierced into the heavens. Many would no doubt return, soon enough, but that was fine, so long as they were sober and of their usual wits.
At some point during all this, he'd caught sight of Styx with her drunken offspring in tow, Nike joining her brothers, as she'd also apparently woken up, and was being fussed over by Styx to a degree. The mother of four, like with her sons, having managed to get her daughter back into a tunic, thankfully, so she wouldn't be bumbling around nude.
Styx had seen and given him a nod, which he'd returned, as he went on his way.
Bia was not with them. A brief stretching of his senses made it clear she was very much still unconscious in his room, as was Hera and Demeter.
Hestia was awake in there, though. And he was very much tempted to go to and speak with her. Both about what happened during the celebration, and what she'd wanted of him, before, while he was having sex with Themis. Both of which could potentially be one and the same.
She said she'd come to him, though, and Hestia had never been a liar to him, so he chose to respect her wishes, and wait for her to do so, instead, when she felt it was time to speak with him.
It had to have been well into the afternoon, when he had conjured up a comfy recliner made of marble, yet also cushioned with the soft pillows of the beds made by the Cyclopes to lie and relax lazily on, under the sunless light of Day – known as Hemera, if he recalled right – by the time he was approached by somebody.
It wasn't Hestia, though, to his slight disappointment.
"Good tidings to you, again, Lord Beerus!" The Titan god of forethought, Prometheus, laughed jovially, as he sauntered over next to him. The future-seeing deity full of cheer, as he regarded the destroyer with a grin. "I see you've chosen to take the rest of today easy."
"Might as well, seeing as there's nothing to do." Beerus saw no need in not answering honestly, though, to be fair, even if there was something to do, he was pretty sure he'd still be choosing to do nothing but relax, right now, unless it was something he found to be genuinely important. "Pretty sure I may just take a nap here, too, if I feel like it."
"A nap?" Prometheus laughed again. "Well, I suppose I can't argue with that, given everyone else appears to be resting off yesterday's activities. And with the punishments meted out already for our adversaries, and whatever it is Lady Gaea or Themis needed of you-" The Titan had the boldness to wiggle his eyebrows at the mention of the latter, making it clear he was aware of what'd really gone down with the elder Titaness. Cheeky bastard. "-you don't really have any more responsibilities to take care of today, I suppose."
"Mhmm." Beerus hummed, before raising a brow at him. "Is there a reason you've chosen to chat with me, so soon after we spoke already?"
Prometheus lent a somewhat playful smile. "What, can I not simply come up to you, whenever I please, just for the fun of it?"
"If that was meant to be a joke, then it isn't funny." The destroyer quipped back flatly, as he cradled the back of his head in his hands. "If not, and you were actually serious, then you'd do well to temper such thinking. I won't take kindly to anybody that wants to come up to me 'just for the fun of it', and interrupt one of my naps, for example."
With the exception of a small few, he'd punt just about anybody off of Olympus at full force, if they had the audacity to do that, and he'd make sure their recovery took a lot longer too, just so the message was sent loud and clear, that his private time was not to be trifled with.
Mellowed out or not, things like his beauty sleep would forever be important to him, and a quick way to earn his ire, if not respected.
"Alright, alright. Easy there, Lord Beerus." The 2nd generation Titan raised his hands in a placating manner, though the look on his grinning face made it clear he was not worried, and Beerus chose to presume it was because he didn't actually intend on testing his luck like that, with him. "Truth be told, you're right. I did come to you for a reason. A good one, I feel."
"Well, out with it, then." Beerus nodded. "What's so important that you decided you had to come to me, directly?"
"It's to do with that project of mine. You know the one." Prometheus was quick to reveal, somewhat giddily, as he mounted his hands on his hips. "I couldn't wait any longer, after everything was sorted with our enemies, earlier today. I had to make a start, even without Epimetheus, though I know he'll understand, and I'd like it if you honoured me by giving what I've done so far, a look." He said, while throwing the destroyer a proud look, clearly happy with how things were going with it, so far. "I promise, it won't take more than a moment of your time. And, well, you did say that you would like to watch me do it, back when we first discussed this, over a year ago, if memory recalls."
He had? Beerus briefly wracked his brain but failed to remember that bit. He'd have almost said that Prometheus just made that up, were it not for the fact that he detected no lie from him, so the Titan was telling the truth there.
Regardless, was this even important enough, for him to put his coming nap to the side for it?
"Oh, come now, Lord Beerus." Almost as if reading his mind, the Titan placed a hand on Beerus' shoulder and regained his attention, as a gleam passed through his eyes. "Even if you don't remember that, I'd like to think you'll find this interesting enough to view, at the very least so you can see for yourself how I and my brother will be accomplishing this?"
Beerus took pause at that.
He supposed it would be at least a little interesting to see how they were going to pull this off…
That, and in fairness, Prometheus had caught him while he was still wide awake…
"Oh! And before I forget," The Titan suddenly said, a knowing grin on him now, as with a brief flash of gold, a bowl of ambrosia appeared in his open hand. Its contents glistening beautifully to Beerus' eyes, alluring in its majesty. "I had this leftover from the celebration. You can feel free to have it, while I show you my work."
Beerus saw the bribery for what it was.
His hand then reached out to the bowl in no time, as he accepted it without hesitation. "Lead the way."
Shortly thereafter…
Arriving at their destination with a flutter of golden specks, which Beerus took a brief glance around at, to see it was near the beach of a distant island from Olympus, the destroyer followed the Titan, as he motioned for him to do so, and began walking ahead. The Olympian munching away at his first mouthful of ambrosia, as he was led toward the place of the second race of Man's creation.
"It's just up ahead." Prometheus quickly said, earning a grunt of acknowledgement from Beerus, as they walked a short distance, passing through an area with palm trees scattered about, and soon entering a sandy clearing that had a sizeable cavern nearby.
It was within that cavern, that Beerus caught sight of multiple figures standing in varied poses, all of them bipedal.
As the duo walked inside, Beerus' brow furrowed, as he continued to eat his meal.
There was about a dozen figures in total. All of them appearing male, with nude, well-built physiques ranging from lithe to bulky in muscle, and with differing, but youthful-looking features. Heights varying amongst them, with some being about a foot shorter than Beerus, while others were much closer to his height, and the rest in-between. Some without facial hair, others with, and each of them seemingly held a similar, but somewhat different hairstyle, with their hair being either short or medium in length. Their genitals dangling almost proudly in a stiff manner.
Not because any of them were erect, but because none of the male figures were made of flesh and bone. Rather, it was apparent, as they came to a stop by them, that they were all moulded – with exceptionally intricate detail, Beerus would freely add – from clay.
"Well put together, aren't they?" Prometheus beamed with pride, as the destroyer took in the clay models. "I formed them from mud and water with my own two hands. Wanted to make sure I got each of them exactly right, down to each individual muscle, so there'd be no complications when they were brought to life, and turned into flesh and bone."
The destroyer didn't take much more time to examine the clay figures of exclusively nude men, before he turned to Prometheus and, while chewing on another piece of his delicious delicacy, asked the most pertinent question on his mind, after hearing what his cohort just said. "Mmnh… And how is it you plan to bring them to life?"
"I'm glad you asked!" The Titan replied with excitement, and Beerus got the immediate sense that the Titan had been expecting that question – perhaps even saw it coming beforehand, with his future vision – as he rested his arm over his shoulder and leaned against him. "The answer is quite simple, really. The Breath!"
"The… Breath…?" Beerus blinked in befuddlement, somehow able to feel the capitalization there, as he turned his sights back to the clay figures. "You're just going to… breathe on them?"
"Well, yes and no." Prometheus responded, while making a so-so gesture with his hand. "Since they're not being born naturally, but rather, moulded and created, they need something to spark them into life. To give them their souls. And it is through a specific flavour of magic, carrying just the right amount of essence, mixed in with the breath of one like us, that this is made possible." He explained. "Give too much, and the body will break, and give too little, the being shall perish, you see."
"I presume you learned that from watching the first race of Man be made?" Beerus inquired, getting a swift nod from the 2nd generation Titan.
"Indeed. It took Kronos three attempts to get them right. Would've probably taken me the same, had I done it, seeing as the concept was new, back then. Though it must be said that those ones were created from the finest of materials on Othrys, including that which was used to make Kronos' scythe, making them as close to us as possible, when they were brought to life, and you already know how that ended." The Titan of forethought remarked almost bitterly. "These ones shall be different, though, for they are made of much more humble, but no less malleable, materials."
His free arm then stretched forth, and upon his open palm, something lit forth in it, constantly shifting in shape, with a shimmering white hue that certainly captured Beerus' intrigue, as he kept eating his fill.
"And this right here, will be the final ingredient going into all of them, to ensure they don't end up like the first race. This, Lord Beerus, is the DNA I spoke of, which shall be implanted into all of Man." Prometheus beamed at him and his creations, looking at the latter almost like a proud father would. "Mostly formless now, once I push it into each, it shall take its necessary form within their soon-to-be flesh and bone bodies, giving them all their own unique and defining characteristic set apart from us and our fellows."
"I see…" All Beerus could do, was nod to that information, without much more to add, unless he wanted to ask about how Prometheus had gone about making DNA, which he definitely didn't want to.
"Of course, it'll be a little while yet, before I give the new race of Man life. The plan right now, is to give it to them, around the same time as the animals me and my brother shall also be making." The Titan nodded to himself more than Beerus, as he pulled away and then manoeuvred over to his constructs of men, circling his arms around two men at the front of the group, which appeared to be the tallest and shortest, respectively. "So, any more questions, Lord Beerus? Anything you'd like to ask about?"
Beerus almost said no, as he got down through half his ambrosia, before something occurred to him, as a glaringly obvious fact he'd acknowledged to himself before, popped into his mind. And seeing as he'd come along for this and was being asked about his thoughts, he might as well give them.
"There is… one thing I'd like to know." He said, while glancing around at the assortment of men.
"Please, by all means, speak it." The future-seeing deity responded, spreading his arms out in an open, inviting gesture.
"Where are the women?" Beerus broached bluntly, with a raised eyebrow in Prometheus' direction.
"The what?" The Titan only blinked back in confusion.
"The females of the race of Man?" Beerus elaborated, pushing down his instant bafflement at Prometheus being befuddled by the term 'women'. "The ones that these guys will need to, you know, propagate their species with? Like we do with the goddesses?"
Like almost every species he knew, back in his old universe, let alone multiverse, with only a few asexual exceptions.
"Uhh…" Prometheus seemed both surprised and lost, simultaneously, as he lowered his arms. "Is that even necessary? I mean, unlike the animals, who will need such a thing, there's no shortage of nymphs around for them to interact with, just as the 1st race of Man did, shameless as they ended up being, in many ways, which I'm hoping mine won't end up following in."
The god of destruction's brows furrowed. "Hold on, are you saying that the first batch of Man was all male?"
"Well, yeah. Of course." The son of Iapetus nodded, while giving a look of innocent curiosity. "There an issue with that, Lord Beerus?"
"…You know what? Never mind Kronos' failed batch." The purple-haired god shook his head. "Back to yours. Won't their children just be a cross between god and man, then?" Beerus felt like he was pointing out the obvious there, as he threw yet another piece of ambrosia into his gob. "Sure, the nymphs don't have this DNA that Man will have," And it still dumbfounded him that they didn't, but that was neither here nor there, at this point. "but I'm pretty sure them being the mothers for these guys' children is going to have some kind of effect on their uhh… inner workings, so to speak."
And if the idea was for them to be wholly unique from the gods, as he remembered Prometheus telling him, then what sense did it make to have them solely breeding with deities? Because what was stopping the race of Man from becoming more like them, with each generation, following this first one?
"Well, it shouldn't." Prometheus shook his head. "The DNA I'll be giving Man should be stopping any potential of that from happening..."
"And what guarantee do you have of that?" Beerus was hardly the smartest guy around, but even he could see the potential issue here, given his cohort's objective with these guys. "Have you tested this already to make sure of that? Or seen the results already, in a vision of the future?"
"Well… no..." The Titan frowned. "I didn't think that necessary. Given that Man shall have something no deity does – which I've spent no short amount of time meticulously making for them – the presumption was that its passing down from Man's reproduction will be enough to make any and all offspring, and that offspring's offspring, and so forth, exactly like the first generation of Man."
"You should never just presume, if you have the ability to know for certain." Beerus shot back, and for an instant, he might as well have been channelling his former mentor, Whis, and how the angel had spoken to him, especially in his younger days, when it came to his training. "Honestly, I didn't think I'd have to be saying that to you of all people, Prometheus, what with you being one of the smarter people I know." And someone that had honestly come across as smarter than himself, outside of combat, though Beerus was hardly about to openly admit that.
"Hmm…" Prometheus momentarily cast his gaze downward, as he took on a pondering look. "You make a good point, which I can't deny." He ultimately acknowledged, before glancing around at his creations, again. "Perhaps I allowed the excitement of making my own sentient species to get to me a bit too much, for it is never wrong to practice a degree of caution."
Turning to one of his clay men in particular, who appeared to be in the middle, as far as height and build were concerned, the Titan laid his hands upon their shoulders, as he gave the future living, breathing human, a considering stare. "Maybe I should bring this one to life much sooner than the rest, and send him out to propagate with one or more of the nymphs, who would be willing to assist, as a test to make sure that my addition for Man works as I believe it will. What do you think?"
"If you ask me, I wouldn't even bother with all that." Beerus snorted, garnering Prometheus' gaze once more, as he chewed on his latest piece of ambrosia. "I'd just give them all a female counterpart, who also hold that DNA of yours in them. Should keep things simple and guarantee what you're aiming for, without having to test and see if it'll be as intended, or not."
"Hmm… You make another good point there." Prometheus stroked his chin. "That would be more efficient, now that I think about it…"
"Up to you, either way, given this is your little project, and not mine." The destroyer shrugged, before his eyes narrowed sharply, with a serious look to them. "If you do choose to go with what I said, though, make sure all the women are as cute as possible."
"…Oooooooookay?" Slight bemusement passed through the son of Iapetus. "You uhh… have any specific preferences for that?"
"That I do." The GOD grinned, suddenly a bit more interested in this project, than he'd been before. "Be sure to listen closely, because as you know, I hate having to repeat myself."
Later…
Tragically, for the destroyer, there wasn't anything else to be done today, aside from removing a couple more drunk deities from his courtyard, as he arrived back to Olympus, leaving Prometheus behind with his project.
With nothing to entertain him, given his business with Kronos' loyal lackeys wouldn't come until tomorrow, he'd elected to go back to his recliner, and soon enough, with nobody to distract from it, he'd soon closed his eyes and entered into a nap.
Though nowhere remotely close to as long as his smallest naps back in Universe 7, it was still a very pleasant one, nonetheless. A sound sleep that sent him to the land of dreams, where he floated freely along across a mountainous landscape made entirely out of that scrumptious substance that Bulma had called 'cotton candy' and bathed in brightest sunlight. His arms and legs occasionally making breast-stroke motions, as he mimed swimming with a goofy smile on his face, and dined on sugary treat all around him as he pleased, while a distant tune played with the soft humming of the voices of his sisters together. Something he'd not ever actually heard in real world, but now most definitely wanted in the future, for they sounded heavenly to his ears.
If Beerus had gotten it his way, this nap and dream would've lasted until the morning of the next day. He didn't mind sleeping outside, here, after all, mostly given how picturesque the climate was. Plus, with a light use of his magic, he'd made sure that none of the remaining gods and goddesses that were strewn about his abode would awaken and disturb him from his slumber, by causing his ears any hassle, with their inebriated antics.
Alas, it was not to be, for out of nowhere, the bright sky of his dream darkened, until the sun was swallowed up, before blackened mists rolled in and replaced the cotton candy, both around him and in his grasp, as the pleasant atmosphere shifted. A change that startled him, as at the same time, something – a feeling he couldn't quite explain, in the moment – disturbed him from rest, just as his dream-self was fully bathed in an abyss of gloom.
The destroyer god stirred soon after with a groan. His eyes peeling open with a light rub from his hand to one of them, only to be met with a starry night sky above.
"Ughhh… Why did it have to end like that…?" Beerus bemoaned, as he blinked a little sleepily, before he sat up and then glanced around, unbothered by the darkness, as he could perfectly see everything around him, regardless.
There was nothing out of place, seemingly. Nobody else was awake. He wasn't about to be come upon by anyone he knew, either, as he sensed that nobody from within the palace was up, Hestia included, unfortunately, and the ones he'd removed from Olympus hadn't returned, either. It was also easy to tell that none of the three stooges he was set to be fighting tomorrow had gotten the bright idea to try and attack before then.
And yet, with each passing second, as Beerus became more alert, he recognized what the feeling was, that had ultimately woken him up.
The feeling of being watched.
Hmph. Someone was rather bold to be doing that with him so intensely, to the point where he could sense it, like this, even in his sleep. He couldn't help the irritation he felt, then, knowing such a blissful dream had been stripped from him, because of it.
A prominent frown etched on his face with displeasure, he was about to raise his voice and call out to whomever was daring to wake him, with such rudeness, in his opinion, and give them a strong warning to never do so again, if they valued themselves, but he didn't get the chance to.
For it was he that was spoken to, first.
"How intriguing." A royally smooth, feminine voice suddenly resounded in Beerus' ears. "You were able to feel mine own gaze upon you, despite I having not taken my physical form, even whilst your consciousness was held by slumbering Hypnos and the dark-winged Oneiroi. I know of but only a few others, who could boast the same sharpness of senses, even in a state of unguarded rest…"
Beerus' eyes narrowed slightly, as he felt the voice having no real origin point. Instead arising from all around him, as though present everywhere at once. Something that swiftly clued him in that the one interacting with him was hardly your average divinity.
"Apologies for waking you, destroyer." The voice spoke again, and with such sincerity that the Olympian found his irritation dimming. "I shall confess, mine intent on this hour of flight was merely to briefly observe he who has caused such a ripple of perturbance across Creation, with a feat previously thought impossible, in the absolute slaying of a powerful fellow, in my sister's crooked child, and thine own father, the Lord of Time."
"You certainly have an interesting way of speaking, whoever you are." Beerus finally responded, as he rose from his recliner, standing up with a small roll of his neck and stretching of his arms, before he brought them both behind his back, touching his fists together, as he addressed his newest visitor. "I'll be straight with you, I normally don't take kindly to anyone who disturbs my sleep, but I shall accept your apology and let it slide this time, so long as you have the courtesy to reveal yourself to me, instead of keeping yourself hidden, like a coward."
"A fair request." The feminine voice replied regally, unperturbed by his insult. "And one I shall graciously honour."
Within an instant, a veil of incomparable darkness descended around the god of destruction, and to his surprise, his surroundings rapidly vanished before his eyes. Everything, from the grass beneath his feet, to the recliner next to him, to the chariots left behind by Theia's children, and the palace behind him, along with the bodies strewn about Olympus' peak, as he briefly glanced around. All he saw was a void of black, before long, which swallowed up and made even visually perceiving his own body impossible, short of a vague outline.
Beerus would almost think he'd been thrust into a different dimension, altogether, if not for the fact he could still sense his siblings and the other deities all around him, even if none could be seen by him.
And then, right before him, a tall figure appeared but a few metres away, her exposed, pastel feet touching down with nigh-unparalleled grace. Her frame, in contrast to all else around him, perfectly clear, as she appeared with a ripple through space itself, as though forming from nothing but the air. Her form lit up by a long, billowing cloak as dark as the blackness surrounding him, yet made noticeable by the twinkling of countless, seemingly revolving lights that glowed like the distant stars of the heavens.
She was bare, beyond the cloak she wore, which flowed and wreathed around her in such a way as to keep her ample, perky F-cup breasts and crotch covered, thus maintaining some modesty. Her skin as pale as moonlight, illuminated majestically by the cloak over her person, with an ethereal beauty to it. Her hair luscious, long and obsidian, flowing out like a wave behind her in a rejection of gravity, while above her head was an aureole of dark mists, somehow blacker than the veil around them. Her body holding curves from what he could make out that were most comparable to Gaea, especially with the flashes he could get of her marvellously wide hips and taut belly, as well as the sublime shapeliness of her silky-smooth legs, which were longer than his own. Her height in the form she'd taken, if he had to estimate, being at least as tall as that Namekian who'd fought for his Universe, during the Tournament of Power.
Her face was just as gorgeous and superbly sculpted as the prettiest of goddesses he'd already seen. Her full, glossy, dark-violet lips set into a neutral line, neither frowning or smiling, as she regarded him with a cool stare. Her cheeks sharper and more regal-looking than even Hera's, and a narrow nose just as cute, with a high forehead and slim jawline only slightly edged out by his youngest sister's, in terms of symmetry. It was her eyes, however, pools of purest and dazzling orchid-purple that glowed with entrancing light, peeking beneath long, sharp and elegant eyelashes and thin, refined eyebrows, both as dark as her hair, that captured his attention more than anything.
Beyond their glamorous alure, there was a seemingly ancient wisdom to them that vaguely reminded him of Whis, and an immense power that he could see brimming beneath the surface.
A power he couldn't gauge in anyway, to his intrigue, even with his senses stretched. He only knew, because he could see it, but could not truly feel it. The depths of her power a total mystery to him, which was a level of invisibility to his detection that nobody else had yet boasted.
What wasn't a mystery to him, at least not anymore, was this person's identity. For although this was his first time actually seeing her physical form in the flesh, her appearance was something he'd been told of, in passing, sometime before, by Themis, in a chat that'd temporarily dipped into the topic of the protogenoi.
Which meant that those twinkling lights revolving all around her cloak's magical fabric, didn't just look like distant stars, as he'd initially just observed, but in actuality, were stars. And the revolving nature of them, on closer inspection, wasn't showing the same ones, either, for they were always in different positions, meaning that within that magical fabric was most likely all of them, infinite in number, along with the space between them. And all of that was but mere decoration for the only piece of clothing this goddess had, which itself was but a manifestation of her power, from what he'd been told.
"I see with the recognition in your eyes, that you know whom I am, destroyer." The female figure remarked cooly, reading him like a book, as her lithe arms moved in-front of her, and her lissom hands joined together, with one curling its supple fingers over the other, before her pelvis. "Seeing as this is our first, true meeting, however, I shall introduce myself, regardless."
Her eyes glowed brighter, as did the twinkling lights of her cloak, adding a further radiance to her unblemished, pale skin, as her lips moved, and her voice, soft yet commanding, echoed all around the god of destruction, with the same warped effect as though she'd entered into a True Divine Form.
"I am the dark veil which pervades over the endless sky, covering all beneath me, in a shadow inescapable, when the time is right. A primordial goddess and the second eldest of all beings that inhabit Creation, awoken long before the Universe was anything but a void of nothing, save for my sister, who sprung to consciousness a mere moment before myself. I am mother to many, including Sleep and Dreams, which you favour most highly."
Now that caught Beerus completely off-guard. His eyes widening greatly, as he detected nothing but truth pervading from her.
She had… sired the concepts of sleep and dreams?
"I am Night itself, Lord of Destruction and future king of gods." The goddess continued, giving a slight bow of her head in polite respect. "You, however, may refer to me as Nyx."
There was a small pause, following her full, dramatic introduction, as all else went silent. Not even the wind so much as daring to make the slightest of whistles, for fear of disrespecting the protogenos, who patiently awaited the GOD's response.
"Ehmm…" Said deity soon cleared his throat, his frame tensing to a degree, as all remaining irritation instantly bled from him. "And you may call me Beerus." The GOD replied after a beat, before he stepped closer to the protogenos of night, his expression strange.
Nyx tilted her head curiously at him. "Do you not wish for me to refer to you by your title, as well, just like you wish of the others?" She asked, her voice no longer resounding and warped.
"Oh, you can if you want, but it's not really necessary. The 'Lord' part is optional." Beerus shook his head, his tone the politest it could be, reaching a level that would've immediately raised the eyebrows of those who knew him well, never mind what he'd just said. "Quite the introduction there, I must say. You definitely know how to make an impression, Lady Nyx. Most memorable one I've had, so far!" He flattered, going as far as to refer to her with a high title of status, which he'd done for nobody else, outside of sarcasm.
Nyx rose a regal brow at the Olympian and his shift in attitude, as he soon crossed the distance between them, but nonetheless, responded in kind. "I am thankful that you think so, Lord Beerus. It is not often that I personally introduce myself, but when I do, I feel it important to make the occasion unforgettable, out of respect for my fellows' time."
"And that you certainly did!" Beerus smiled at her, almost too widely, as he came to a stop around a foot from her, as he craned his neck and gazed up with awe, at the Night-mother. "I don't think I'll ever be forgetting this meeting. Not with someone as esteemed as yourself, my dear."
Beerus raised and offered his hand to her, then. The goddess glancing down at the offered appendage, seeing the friendly gesture for what it was, and offering her own, in turn, much to Beerus' clear delight, as her soft palm almost melded into his more calloused one, as their fingers gripped the other's hand.
"A mighty hold, you have." She complimented. "Though that is to be expected, I suppose, given your feats of overwhelming power, which have earned you great renown."
"You've a fine hold, yourself." Beerus complimented right back. And he meant it, for now that he had contact with her, he could vaguely feel her power thrumming through her. Nowhere near all of it, he knew right away from experience, but enough to get an idea of what he was really dealing with. For the fragment he could sense, was seemingly as endless as the World of Void, far outclassing his current form to such an insane degree, he wouldn't be shocked if her full power, still hidden from him, no matter how hard he tried to sense it, might even reach high enough to rival his True Divine Form. "I must say, I'm impressed."
The Olympian mildly surprised the primordial, then, when he gently turned their hands, so her knuckles were facing up, as he then raised them up and lowered his head, pressing his lips to them with a chaste kiss that made her divine skin tingle ever so slightly.
"Allow me to personally welcome you to my abode." Beerus beamed up at her. "And seeing as you're here now, please, feel free to make yourself at home. You're an honoured guest, after all."
"Am I, now?" The Mother of Night's lips quirked up slightly. "How courteous of thee, eldest son of Rhea."
To Beerus' own surprise, the goddess mirrored his action, by turning their hands, so his knuckles faced up, before raising them as her face dipped, and her dark-violet lips ghosted over his skin. Her misty breath cascading over the back of his hand, sending goosebumps through it, as she lay a kiss just as chaste as his own on his knuckles. Something he didn't anticipate.
"Your passionate gesture was unknown to me." She said, easily reading him again, from how he reacted. "Seeing as thee went to the trouble of gifting it to me, though, just as with a hand offered, I have returned the favour, in kind, out of mine own courtesy. I hope I did not offend."
"Ah! No, no! Not at all." Beerus shook his head vehemently, skin tingling, even as their hands separated, after her unexpected return of what he knew was meant to be a chivalrous gesture. "It was fine to return. Welcome, even!" He nodded enthusiastically. Almost uncharacteristically so. "As a matter of fact, you honour me even more than I did you, by giving it back so generously!"
"Is that so?" Her lips curved up just a little more. "Well then, that's good to hear. Given your initial expression of astonishment, I had presumed I may have overstepped in regards to your unfamiliar custom."
"Oh, definitely not!" Beerus rejected the idea as fast as he possibly could. "You were – no, are – sublime! If anything, I overstepped with you, earlier, when I told you to reveal yourself, without speaking to you with the respect you are owed, and wrongfully called you a coward. And for that, I apologize." He said, before giving a small bow. "Please, allow me to offer you a gift, to make up for my rudeness."
"My, what generosity and fine manners. Doubtless they were not inherited from your slain father." Nyx commented breathily, a definite smile, small as it was, visible on her moonlit features, as she surprised Beerus again, by reaching down and lightly cupping his chin with her supple hand, raising his head so that their eyes were gazing into each other's once again. "I wonder though, given what I have heard of you, in passing, if such a disposition is a constant, regardless of who you're interacting with, or if I'm special, in this regard."
It was definitely the latter, not that he'd tell her that openly. Such lengths were a rarity for him, and usually begrudging on his part. Had she been anyone else, this interaction would've definitely been going differently, right now.
She wasn't just any other deity, though. Oh no. She was far more than that. Infinitely more than just some run-of-the-mill divinity. And not merely because of her presence, beauty and power, which certainly did leave an impression.
Rather, it was because of one simple fact, that she'd so eloquently revealed to him, as she was introducing herself.
This primordial before him, was the reason that sleep and dreams even existed here, at all.
The fact he'd only found out about this now, was criminal! Themis had done him a disservice not mentioning this about her, when she'd spoken of Nyx, because had he known, there was no way he wouldn't have personally reached out to her, a lot sooner, even with the war still waging.
For being the one responsible for sleep and dreams existing alone, she, more than nearly all others he knew, was worthy in his eyes of being called divine. Holy. Goddess. And whatever other word could be used to describe someone of her status.
He literally owed being able to partake in two of his favourite things in all of existence to her. For without her giving life to them, this world would be devoid of them, and that was a horrifying thought, as far as the god of destruction was concerned.
Like hell he was about to treat the being responsible for ensuring sleep and dreams existed with anything less than the utmost reverence and kindness. Because unless she had a bad relationship with her children, which he highly doubted, given her classy character, thus far, then through her, provided he treated her well, he could gain the ears of the deities responsible for what he loved so much, which could lead to very fruitful relationships for him.
So, yeah. She was getting his most willing, best behaviour from now on.
"Oh, I'd like to think I treat as many as I can, with my best." Beerus spoke up, lying through his teeth, without any shame, just to make him sound better to her. "In saying that, though, I will confess, that I do find you quite special, indeed. For until you, I had yet to meet anybody with such presence and poise." He went on, laying it in thick. Comically so, given his usual way of things.
"That is quite flattering of you to say, destroyer." Nyx's eyes sparkled with what he assumed was gladness, as she stared deep into his amber pools, deep enough to where he felt as though she were peering into his soul. "Given how many of our kind you have interacted with, such words are a great compliment, coming from you. I am grateful to have received them." Her words were full of earnestness, as they flowed through her.
"And I am grateful to have you here!" The GOD enthusiastically beamed, eyes closing for a moment, as he reached up with both hands and took her outstretched one in them, as her fingers tugged away from his chin. "Now then, is there anything I can do for you, Lady Nyx? Because I assure you, there's very little that I can't. Just ask and I can give it. Would you like a seat, or perhaps a place to lie down? I can offer you the finest throne or bed, whichever you prefer. If you're feeling peckish, I can spare you the finest of nectar and ambrosia? Or maybe there's someone who's gotten on your nerves, of late? Just say the word, and I'll deal with them for you, so you needn't bother wasting your time on them. Whatever it is, just ask, and it's-mmph!?"
A soft finger from her other hand pressed against his lips, just as they came closest together, cutting him off and making him reopen his eyes to see the primordial goddess smiling down cooly at him.
"Be at ease, Lord Beerus. I'm fine, and in no need of such physical pleasantries for myself, and I certainly have no need for your services to 'deal with' anybody, though I do thank you for the offer." She calmly told him, as she looked deep into his eyes again, while wisps of dark mist danced through her vibrant pools in a fashion that even Beerus found mesmerizing. "That being said, seeing as I am here now, and speaking candidly with you, I must tell you, that while what I said earlier is true, about having initially intended to observe you, on this flight of mine, it was also my intent to speak with you, very soon, on certain matters. Most likely as soon as the morrow when I take flight, once again."
"W-Well then! Feel free to speak and get whatever it is off your chest now! I'm all ears!" The destroyer encouraged with an almost exaggerated bob of the head, as she pulled her finger away, and he gripped her pleasantly supple hand in both of his a little tighter.
"Your willingness is appreciated." She nodded back, before her expression became serious. "The matters I need speak with you of, are two-fold. The first has to do with your power itself. From what I have heard, while Day's flight was occurring, these last two cycles, you do not intend to abuse the power you have, to eradicate the being of anyone else, even for punishments when you or yours have been slighted. Would I be correct in saying this?"
"You are." Beerus readily affirmed, before displaying patience usually not his own, in waiting for her to continue, with prompting.
"Good." He could hear the small bit of relief, as hard as it was to pick up, with him confirming such to her directly. "Despite you giving your word, though, I'm sure you can understand, that as a mother, I would wish for my children to have some added assurance that they will never have to worry about the former Lord of Time's fate being brought unto them, in the future. For quite a good many, even after being told as I was, by Day, of what you had said, are still very much concerned about this, and understandably so."
"Say no more!" Beerus replied, energetically tapping the back of her hand, as he proceeded to make one of the easiest vows of his life, that as far as he saw, cost him nothing and only aided him in getting closer to a goal. "I swear on the river Styx, that I shall never bring the threat of destruction of one's existence, upon the heads of any of your children, else my own power be turned against me, Lady Nyx!"
The metaphysical bond that was formed thanks to these words was felt by both deities immediately, as the vow was set in stone, by both the power of Styx, whom Beerus respected, and Beerus himself, as his very being held itself to what he'd just sworn to.
Now, under the hypothetical that would literally never happen, and thus, he wouldn't ever have to worry about, presumably he too would be destroyed, if he ever erased the existence of one of the goddess' progeny.
Nyx' eyes were wider than before, as she felt the bond he had put himself under, and undoubtedly through her divine senses, knew this was no ruse, and that what he'd just said, would indeed come to pass, if he ever gave any of her spawn the same treatment as his departed father.
To say that even she was baffled that he had taken it to such an extreme, was an understatement.
"There we are!" He piped up cheerily. "Is that good enough for you, or would you like me to do something else, to assure you and your children of my sincerity?"
"No…" Beerus could make out genuine surprise from her, written all over her face, for an instant, as she rejected the need for more of him, before her features softened and her lips bloomed into the first, full beam he'd seen of her. One that glowed alongside the rest of her ravishing features in such a way, that it very nearly stole his breath, entirely. "That alone will be more than sufficient. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart."
My word… she looks so unbelievably cute with a smile like that…! The Olympian thought shamelessly, feeling a shiver pass through him, and a major tingle in his loins that he could've done without. "Y-You're welcome…"
If the primordial noticed the effect she'd just had on him, in that moment, she made no mention of it, as to his grave chagrin, her cute expression faded back to her more serious countenance.
"Now then, with my more personal interest for my children dealt with, that brings me to the other matter at hand. Something for you to keep in mind, moving forward, as this one is not just to do with you, but everyone you hold dear, and countless others, as well."
Hearing the gravity in her speech, Beerus almost goofy-looking exuberance melted, and a far more serious expression painted his features, as well. "Go on…"
"I have had visions of the future, Lord Beerus." She revealed, while sharply narrowing her eyes, allowing the glow of her purple pools to intensify, seeping out in rays of varying shades, whilst dark mists also seeped out, lending a powerful, ominous atmosphere to the dark void she'd conjured around them. "I have glimpsed of conflict and unrest, amongst those who call Olympus their home. Of two sides divided and opposing each other, ready to tear each other down for what they believe is right and just."
She'd seen that? Beerus' brows furrowed in contemplation at the idea of his new family fighting amongst themselves like that, as once more, he detected no lie, only complete honesty from Night herself.
And she wasn't done, either.
"I have also seen flashes of many giants who walk the land, causing grand quakes with their every step, and grander storms with their every breath, led by the mightiest of them all, who appears to bear a power resembling your own, dear destroyer." Her words then stunned him, as she raised her free hand and cupped one of his cheeks, her touch pleasant, as she offered a look of sympathy. "I know not if that means he is to be one of your future children, but what I do know, is that when he rises to power, and builds himself a group of those loyal to his cause, he shall seek the destruction of Olympus, and the conquest of the cosmos through war that devastates the Universe itself."
Giants… Giants led by one with power like his own, which sought the destruction of Olympus, and the conquest of the Universe, after devastating it through war…
Was it possible she was referring to Typhon?
His own dream had shown him nothing of a group, just his son going on a lone rampage, but it wasn't impossible that a change could take place, due to something unforeseen, where a bunch of giants joined him. Of course, as to where the group arose from was a question in itself, which he had no answer for, but that hardly mattered right now. What did, was the fact that, with the exception of that one detail, the rest of her vision pretty much lined up with what he'd seen, and was the same.
Granted, given what he'd seen of him recently, the idea of Typhon leading what was essentially an army was laughable, but that was right now. There was no telling how he'd grow, beyond physical size and power, as time trickled by.
…Alternatively, though, there was also the potential that her vision didn't refer to Typhon at all, but to some other giant, possibly yet to be born, that somehow ended up with power like his. Possibly because they were also his son, as she'd mentioned…
Add that on top of his family and allies being divided and at odds with each other, for whatever reason causes that to happen, along with the potential of that potentially going on at the same time as these giants' assault, if they were really unlucky, and it didn't look good. Catastrophic even, for all of Olympus.
Yet at the same time, the threat of the giants and their leader, in specific, whether it was Typhon or not, only triggered the warrior side of him, yet again, that wished for a worthy foe, getting part of him excited, while also leaving him conflicted, once again. Just as his own dream had done.
"You have my thanks for the information." He told her honestly, as he processed all this. "Is there anymore, or is that the end of it?"
"For now, it is the end, but if I ever have another vision that relates to you and yours, I will be sure to make you aware of it, as a form of gratitude for the vow you so willingly gave me." She promised in earnest, and Beerus didn't require her to vow on Styx to know she'd keep to it. "Feel free to do with this information, as you will, Lord Beerus. I hope that such foreknowledge can help you, in some form."
"Mhmm…" He hummed back, hoping so too.
Her hand that was in his turned to dark mists, then, slipping through his grip, as it formed back into divine flesh, before cupping Beerus' other cheek, so she firmly, yet gently, held his face, as she leaned down.
"With that, though, my dear destroyer, I thank you for your time, and bid you farewell, until next we meet." She said, as her misty breath ghosted over his temple. "Seeing as you hold such fondness for Sleep and Dreams, though, before I take my leave, I shall recompense you for the unceremonious awakening earlier, by sending you back to their embrace, and offer you a better experience than what you imagined before, as a way to ease your mind from what I have revealed to you."
"Wait, wha-!?" Beerus' eyes widened with shock, as her lips then pressed down on his forehead, blessing them with their heavenly caress, as she kissed a little deeper than the chaste one she'd given his hand prior.
He didn't get to voice any thought on this though, as he was instantly struck with a drowsiness so intense, that a split-second later, the light of his amber pools darkened, before his eyelids shut on them and his body slumped, going limp in Nyx' hold. All as she held him up delicately for but a moment more, lips still pressed to his temple, as dark mists spilled forth and circled around him in a remarkably soothing manner.
"Rest well, Lord Beerus. Hypnos and the Oneiroi will make sure you are well-kept and refreshed, for when you next wake, on Day's rise." She spoke softly, as she pulled her lips away, giving the now slumbering deity one more smile, as she lowered him back down unto his recliner – now no longer concealed by her veil of the dark – with grace, in much the same position he'd been in, before she'd woke him. "And should one of our next meetings come in my home, the Underworld, I will be sure to treat you with the same courtesy you did me, while visiting yours."
With her parting words said, the primordial goddess' physical form steadily turned to dark mists to match her aureole that soon billowed away, leaving no trace of her behind, as the darkness of night receded upon Olympus' peak, leaving it bathed back in the regular form of darkness one expected, during Nyx's flight. And as she departed, within the realm of dreams, as he slept, Beerus was greeted by the angelic choruses of goddesses singing hymns to his name, in a very rustic way, as he was sat upon a throne made of solid gold with the comfiest cushions in existence to rest upon and relax. All with an atmosphere akin to what Hestia could bring at her best, and air both pure and full of the sweetest scents that melded perfectly together, as he was doted on hand and foot by goddesses whose features were exceptionally cute to his eyes.
All of the dream goddesses resembled one goddess he knew in this life, including his sisters, but with cuteness somehow amplified, with those beatific smiles they wore. Their bodies – which varied in terms of measurements, while still maintaining a nigh-flawless figure – scantily clad, barely being covered at all in their private areas, with what looked like flimsy loincloths, fully accentuating their individual curves. Their lovable giggles filling his ears like the hymns and music, as some of their hands worked and massaged all his muscles, while others danced for his enjoyment, in mostly erotic ways. Others still, stood and floated around his throne, offered him bowls and chalices with a variety of foods and drinks of the highest quality.
Beerus' dream jaw could only come unhinged at this perfect assault to his senses, feeling more real than any other dream before it. And it only got even more absurd, as he suddenly found himself naked, with the dream goddesses that looked just like his sisters steadily advancing upon him, suddenly naked as well, and climbed on to the throne with him. 'Hera' up front, while 'Demeter' and 'Hestia' were at the sides, the latter two pressing their butts into his lap, while the former sat with widespread legs over his knees. The trio giving him hot, saucy looks on another level from whatever he'd received from them in the real world, or in Hestia's case, at all, with eyes of want and desire, as all three caressed his front while also reaching down for his godhood.
Sufficed to say, it didn't take long for the god of destruction to forget all else, for the time being, as he let himself be consumed by the fantastical dream he'd been placed in, and enjoy every bit of the pleasure-fantasy he'd been given…
The next day…
With morning well underway and brightness casting over the lands and waters, even without the sun, as Helios had yet to commandeer his chariot, once more, there was a certain hustle and bustle, as the remaining deities awoke from their nectar-induced slumbers. Some, due to sleeping more, and perhaps consuming less, more sober-minded, while still hungover from the earlier day's celebration. Others, meanwhile, just like the ones Beerus had previously removed, were still drunk, and in many cases, still horny, as they awkwardly reengaged in sexual activity with their partners, drunkenness making them shameless to being spotted so openly, in sloppy, debauched activity.
It was to this sight in the courtyard, that Theia walked out into from the palace' entrance, the inside of which had similar activity going on, with her soft tunic rustling in the wind, and a large bowl of something held in-hand. All of the activity around Theia was expertly ignored it, thanks to her having been spectator to plenty of sexual escapades, and a participant to a few herself, with her brother-husband, back in the heyday of the Titans' rule, on Othrys. A time that really wasn't all that long ago, but was increasingly starting to feel like ages in the past, since the Olympians' victory over her former allies.
A sigh broke past her lips, as she glanced back at the palace briefly, before lifting herself from the top of the staircase and floating her way over the courtyard, so as to effortlessly avoid all the drunken deities that littered the area. Her nose crinkling slightly, as she ignored the potent stench of sweat and sex, as well as the inebriated sounds of the latter going on around her, as she made her way over to the only deity amongst the group that mattered, sensing his presence without trouble, before she even spotted him.
When she got up close, and saw him thankfully alone, with eyes firmly shut, breathing slow, tranquil and rhythmic, with the occasional, incoherent mumble, she let out another small sigh, before descending and crouching down near the side of his recliner. Her hand raising over his laid out body, near his shoulder, before she hesitated, and pulled it back, reining in her impatience, as she recalled it being said that he disliked being disturbed from his sleep.
Her timing proved to be excellent, in this instance, however, for barely a moment after she'd come to his side, the destroyer stirred all on his own. His eyes slowly peeling open, as he came back to reality. His expression oddly seeming to sink a good bit, when he quickly realized it was, as he steadily began to sit up.
"Ehm…" Her throat cleared to grab his attention. "Good morning, Lord Beerus. I hope that your sleep was most pleasant…"
"It was. And I wish I was still doing so…" He muttered, disheartened at that perfect dream having to end, which was the only bad part about it, but at the same time, he was still in quite the good mood after it, with the grin he subconsciously wore being a clear indication of that to anybody. "In any case, to what do I owe the pleasure of you of all people greeting me, as I wake up?"
"Uhm… Firstly, I came to offer you this." She replied a little timidly, as she handed the bowl over to him.
"Huh?" Beerus blinked down at it, as it was placed in his lap, before his eyes widened in surprised delight, when he saw the contents within. The freshest-looking and most glistening vegetables, fruits and grain, all neatly divided into their own section of the bowl. The heavenly aromas that wafted off of each perfectly made item of homely food, which instantly clued him in as to whose handiwork this was. "How did you get your hands on Demeter's delicious produce?"
"Your sister Hestia graciously gave it to me, before I came out here." She explained, taking him by even more surprise. "I ran into her in the hall, and after speaking for a bit, she handed that bowl to me, and asked that I hand it to you, in Demeter's place."
"Did she now?" The purple-haired divinity soaked in that information, before stretching out his senses, only to find his two younger sisters – and also Bia – very much still asleep themselves.
Accurately judging what he must've been thinking, the elder Titaness went on. "Yes… Your younger sister would've done so herself, but Hestia told me she was too hungover to come by and give it to you, so she apparently offered to take it to you, before putting Demeter back to sleep for better recovery, and coming out into the hall, where she met me. At least, that's how it went, according to her."
Hestia didn't lie. She was too pure for that, so what she'd said was definitely the truth there. Beerus was certain of that.
The other two, or at least just Hera, had probably also awoken, but been given the same treatment, minus an offering like what even a badly hungover Demeter could conjure.
A bit of a shame, really. He was curious as to whether or not either of them could actually make food of similar quality.
Well, aside from what he knew both could produce from their bodies. And if dream Hera was any indication of what the real one could give…
Nope. Beerus slightly shook his head. Not letting myself go there.
It was already a miracle, from what he could feel, that he hadn't awoken to a painful erection and extreme horniness, after what he'd just dreamt, thanks to Nyx – though he doubted the specifics of it were intentional, on her part. He didn't need to go and get this body of his worked up with conscious thoughts of a nude Hera presenting herself to be drank from, as that would only ruin just how… refreshed he felt, right now.
Matter of fact, he couldn't recall a single moment from this life or his previous one, where he'd ever awoken from sleep, no matter the length of it, feeling this damn good.
Oh yeah, he was definitely going to do all in his power to keep good relations with Nyx, in the future, whom he didn't feel even the slightest bit of annoyance towards, for the way she'd ended their meeting, after what he'd gained from her doing so.
"She uhh… say anything else?" The destroyer asked the daughter of Gaea, as he focused on her, and the subject of his twin sister, over any potential lewd thought of his youngest sister.
"She did, yes." Theia nodded. "She also asked of me to let you know that she's ready to speak with you at any time, though would prefer if you handled your affairs for today, before then, so there's nothing to distract. I did not ask for what reason you would need to speak, though, as that's none of my business."
"I see…" Beerus slowly nodded back, almost asking her about what 'affairs' she was talking about, which would keep him from Hestia, before it clicked for him what she meant by that, given the fact it was day now, instead of night.
"If you wouldn't mind, Lord Beerus, the real reason I came to you now, is so that I may ask in good faith, if the situation with my brother-husband can be handled now, rather than letting it drag out further into the day, if you'd please..." The elder Titaness told him with honest humbleness, being sure to speak in a way that couldn't even remotely be construed as rude, as she gazed at him pleadingly.
Beerus just sat there for a small moment, digesting what she said, before ultimately shrugging, as he all too appreciatively dug his hand into the bowl and fished out a juicy, crimson-skinned apple for himself. "Sure. Might as well get it out of the way, I guess."
A little later… A way's off from Olympus…
Beerus blew out a sigh, as he sat with his legs crossed in a lotus sitting position, his bowl of scrumptious, godly produce firmly sat in his lap, as he stared down from the air, a dozen or so metres from the ground, at the still body of Hyperion. The Titan's form having been unveiled with a small bit of assistance from Gaea, laid out on his back, gazing up with unseeing, glazed eyes at the heavens. Ironically enough toward his father, who was no doubt going to be highly amused, watching what happened next.
The pallor of the Titan's skin was deathly pale, near devoid of colour completely, with the wounds he'd been dealt to finish him off very much still present, from the missing arm to the stab wound dealt through his front. The rest of the damage, surprisingly, had mostly healed, but those two wounds had not even done so slightly.
Theia had gasped in horror when she'd first seen him, for it was the first time her eyes had bore witness to his damaged form. Right now, she was kneeling beside him, running her hand gently and affectionately through his hair, with a sombre expression, knowing what she'd have to do, and undoubtedly psyching herself up for the worst-case scenario, if her brother-husband refused to play ball.
Meanwhile, the sadistic part of the god of destruction eagerly anticipated him refusing to do as asked of him, so that he could see the bastard get the piss beaten out of him and forced into doing so, by his sister-wife, which would only be even more humiliating for him.
Wish I had some of that tasty 'popcorn' that Bulma gave me, during one of my visits to Earth. It would've been quite the delectable treat to have, alongside the rest of this sublime breakfast, while watching this play out. Beerus grinned wider.
Maybe he could get Demeter to help with that, in the future? Or better yet, Demeter and his new personal cook, Kalypso? With how good her blend of ambrosia had been, and how good Demeter's produce was, he could only salivate thinking about what those two could create together, provided they were on the same page. Which he was positive he could get them to do, even if just on occasion.
The future has never looked brighter, for my stomach. He thought to himself giddily, as he chomped down on some raisins.
Thinking of the future however, his mood soured slightly, as he was reminded of what Nyx had said to him, last night. About how at some point, Olympus and his family would be divided and at each other's throats. The reason or reasons for why that would be, completely unknown to him, as whatever their disagreements were, had yet to show up, evidently. When they did though, if he let them fester, things would become a real pain for him, then, so something would have to be done about it.
As to what? He hadn't the faintest clue, right now, but that was a problem for future him to deal with, anyway, so he mentally kicked that can down the road for later, where he'd most likely have it also picked up by others, so they could assist.
And by 'assist', he meant come up with a plan for him to execute. He knew Metis, at the very least, excelled at planning, with how clever she was, so he'd be sure to make her an advisor of his or something similar soon, so she could be there to help him out.
As for those giants that had been mentioned... Well, he could only come up with one solution for them right now, really. Just fight and defeat them, and whether or not Typhon was leading them, there was a decent chance he'd have a real challenge on his hands for that, too. A second one, if Typhon and this giant weren't the same, considering how far the former would supposedly grow. The only downside to that, of course, was that, like with his own prophetic dream about his monstrous son, everyone else was going to be dragged into it, too, and the results of that were horrific, so maybe he'd have to see if he could alter that, in some way. perhaps so it turned into a one-on-one between him and their leader? Or something to that effect, anyway?
Eh. Once more, can mentally kicked down the road. No use overly concerning himself with it, now. He'd be sure to ask for some other opinions later, at some point, because a fight with someone that had a power like his sounded like it had the potential for a worthy challenge, and he definitely desired that. It was just the rest of Nyx's vision that claimed of a war that could devastate the Universe, that was the icky part he could do without. Not just for his own interests, but those he'd come to – in his ever-softening ways, it seemed – care about a good deal. The strongest example, of course, being his most beloved sister, Hestia, who he'd definitely be meeting with, after his business off of Olympus with the couple beneath him, and then the three stooges afterward, was concluded.
"I… I think I'm ready." He soon heard Theia's voice speak up, bringing him from his reverie, as he saw the Titaness now glancing up at him. "You can remove your power's influence from him, now. I'll handle the rest, Lord Beerus."
Hmph. He'd give her this, she'd managed to school her expression pretty well into a stoic mask, when meeting his gaze, and also kept her words even and respectful. He doubted the former would last, though.
"As you wish." Was all the destroyer said, with his patented smirk now on for what was to come, before he focused down on the prone form of Hyperion. The purple-haired deity able to feel how his domain clung to his existence, refusing to let go of him, until Beerus willed it so, forcefully tugging its hold away from him with relative ease, without so much as lifting a finger. Such was his current efficiency, in handling such an integral part of his very nature, both spiritually and conceptually.
The effect of him releasing Hyperion from his power's grasp was near instantaneous. Within but a few seconds, the colour of skin returned to the vibrancy it'd had, prior to his defeat, and the damage and wounds he'd been dealt, swiftly healed themselves up. The hole in his front and back where he'd been stabbed by Beerus' blade vanishing, while his missing limb, chopped off by the same blade, soon regrew and restored itself.
More than anything one could tangibly see, Beerus felt the Titan's very soul repair itself rapidly, and with its completion, Hyperion's presence suddenly became far more noticeable, than it had been a moment ago.
Theia did her best not to let her momentary relief and excitement show, seeing her brother-husband returned to his healthy state, as his eyelids shut, before fluttering, as a pained groan leapt through his lips, and his body stirred into consciousness, for the first time in over a year.
"Ughhhhhhn!... What… happened…?" The Titan spoke his first words, ones of sluggish confusion, barely above a whisper, but easily caught by his sister-wife and Beerus, nonetheless, as his back slowly rose from the ground. His elbows propping him up on his sides, as he turned his head this way and that, vision blurry and unfocused at first, which for him, spoke volumes. "Where… am I…?"
"You're about a minute or two's distance from Olympus, as you currently are now, husband." Theia supplied, getting the Titan to briefly stiffen up, hearing her voice.
Hyperion's head couldn't have possible whipped in the Titaness' direction any faster, then. His eyes flying wide, at the sight of her.
"Theia…!" He exclaimed, rather surprised to see his sister-wife. "W-What are you… ungh…!" The Titan grunted and grasped his own head, feeling what felt like a migraine come over him. "What's going on here? Last I remember, I… I…"
The Titan paused, as his final memories before his loss of consciousness hit him. From his infiltration of Olympus' barrier, to his battle against the rebels and traitors alike, to… to…
To his ultimate defeat at Kronos' eldest son, Beerus' hands. A defeat that caused him immeasurable agony, both physical and spiritual, with even his very soul feeling like it was being irreparably damaged. Brought near the brink of annihilation, itself...
"I lost…" He muttered simply, glancing down to the arm he'd previously lost, in the battle, before gazing down at and touching the part of his front, where he'd felt Beerus' blade plunge its way through his flesh and spirit.
"How astute of you." Beerus snorted, making the Titan jolt into stillness, before his head whipped up to stare at him, as he bit into some dates and swallowed. "You can recognize when you've been trounced by your better. I suppose that's a small bit of progress, already, from what your arrogant self was like before, Hyperion."
"Y-You…!" Once the initial shock of the destroyer being there began to wear off, the Elder Titan was quick to bound to his feet with a snarl, and point up menacingly at the purple-haired god, as his aura began to manifest around him.
"Yes, Hyperion, it's me. Were you expecting someone else?" Beerus smirked, seeing the Titan already beginning to seethe.
"Bastard!" Hyperion growled. "What are you doing here!?"
"Is that a serious question or are you pulling my leg, right now?" The destroyer rose a brow, as he rested a cheek on his knuckles. "Can you really not tell why I would be here? Hmph. Guess you are as dumb as I thought." He scoffed, which only infuriated the Titan even more. "No bother, though. Theia was about to explain everything to you, anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter."
"Theia…?" Anger gave way to confusion, again, as Hyperion turned his sights back to Theia.
His sister-wife glanced away, at first, as if in a form of shame, which had him very worried about what may come next, before she sighed and forced herself to meet his gaze, as she too, stood up. "There's… quite a bit you've missed, dear. And you're not going to like… any of it." She bowed her head then, schooling her features and tempering her emotions, lest they get the better of her. "Matter of fact, brother… You're definitely going to hate what I'm about to tell you."
Hyperion grimaced, hearing the severity in her words, but nothing could've quite prepared him for what he was about to be told, as he allowed his sister-wife to explain the situation, while Beerus watched on patiently, anticipating what would come of it.
It took a bit of time, but soon enough, all of what'd happened, since his defeat, was laid out before him. From the continuation of the war, to Kronos' gambit for the Ophiotaurus, to their father, Ouranos getting involved and spoiling their plan of action to Beerus' side, and then, to all that'd occurred during and after the final battle, which had seen them soundly defeated, Kronos erased from existence, and all those against the Olympians punished, in some form or another.
The expressions on his face, as the information was relayed, were varied in their displeasure, but hearing of their younger brother's demise, in particular, had shaken and horrified him, no matter how insane it sounded, for he could tell she was telling him the truth. As hard as it may've been to believe that they, deathless beings who should be living forever, could be brought to an end.
What hurt him the most, however, and she knew it would, was not the fact that the Titans had lost, and the universe was now under the rule of the Olympians, basically, but that she had turned her back on their side, during the final battle, betraying their comrades to both save herself, and to have a chance at saving him.
There was a lot that could be said about her brother, and she'd be the first to admit he was by no means perfect, but any who knew him well, like she did, knew he was loyal to their siblings, to Kronos, and would've never even considered betraying them, no matter the circumstances. For he was just that stubborn. And naturally, of course, them being husband and wife, closer than anyone else, he'd clearly thought this sentiment of his was the same with her, and from his perspective, before his fall, it'd definitely seemed that way.
So, for him, hearing straight from her, that this wasn't so, and that she'd turned traitor for herself and him… she didn't need to be a mind-reader to know how much the news had devastated him, and to her guilt, shattered the image he had of her.
"And that's what brings us to now, brother." She spoke softly, fighting to hold back some tears, as she gripped his shoulder. "I got Lord Beerus to restore you… but in exchange for that, you must serve out your punishment for standing against him and his side, just as the others did." She explained. "All he asks of you, however, is that you swallow your pride, for but a moment, and grovel before him, for his forgiveness… as humiliating as I know that'll be for you."
Hyperion was silent, eerily so, as he was told this. His hair shadowing over his eyes, with an almost unreadable visage.
Almost, because Theia knew him too well, and she knew he was angry, upset and pained, by all that he'd heard from her.
Even still, she pushed on. "Please, brother, I know you must have mixed feelings about me, right now, but I implore you to listen to me, even if it is just this one, last time. Do as Lord Beerus wants of you, and then, so long as you swear not to cause any trouble for him, in the future, you'll be free to go! No further punishment or humiliation, that's all there is!"
"All there is…?" Hyperion let out a hollow chuckle, which lacked any sort of mirth. "Ah, yes. That's all there is." He then glanced up at Beerus balefully. "This bastard and his ilk tore down everything I've known, disrespected and embarrassed me, on more than one occasion, and now… now all that's left is for me to grovel beneath his feet like some pathetic mongrel, and beg him to forgive me…"
"Well, if you're smart, that's what you'll do." Beerus chose that moment to pipe in, smirking at the way Hyperion scowled at him with such ferocity. "Come now, you wouldn't want your wife's sacrifice for you to go to waste, now, would you? Or, are we about to add ungrateful husband to your small list of titles?"
The Titan of heavenly light balled his hands into fists, at the obvious taunt. His aura flaring, as he wished for nothing more than to incinerate that infuriating look off of the destroyer's face.
"Hyperion! No!" Theia exclaimed in a panic, as she got in front of her husband, grasping both his shoulders, sensing his malicious intent toward Beerus, which could drive him toward attacking him at any moment. Something the god of destruction could undoubtedly sense, as well. "Do not even think about attacking Lord Beerus! If you do, all I've done will be for nothing, and he'll reduce you back to what you were, before he restored you!"
"Will he, now?" Hyperion muttered, gaze flicking to his wife, for a second, before shooting back to Beerus. "Alright then, what if I merely refuse to bow and plead for his forgiveness? What happens then?"
"Then the same thing that'll happen, should you be foolish enough to attack me, will occur. I will reduce you back to the same, pitiful state I left you in, following our battle atop Olympus, over a year ago." Beerus replied smoothly for Theia, without missing a beat, laying out the very harsh reality for the Titan, whether he liked it or not, with a slightly broadened smirk, and a certain, sadistic glow in his amber pools. "If Theia here cannot get you to do that, either through her words or through force, then it's back to being comatose, for you."
"Oh, how wonderful." Sarcasm leaked out of him in potent waves, before he snarled again. "So, in other words, I don't really have any choice in this, do I? Either bend over backwards and take it in the behind like a pathetic kinaidos for your 'forgiveness', or be made comatose again, and be once more humiliated in a different fashion?"
"Well, if that's the way you want to phrase it, sure." Beerus raised an eyebrow while shrugging. "Personally, I wouldn't have made that sound so sexual, but hey, you do you."
"Oh, begone to Tartarus, with you!" Hyperion snapped, before rounding back on his sister-wife, who managed to keep herself from flinching, as his hurt and angry gaze bore into her. "And as for you, Theia, I can't believe you're just going along with this! Where's that pride of yours, that I loved so much!? How could you allow yourself to be so servile to him!?"
"I'm pretty sure she already gave you the answer to both those questions, you fool." The GOD rolled his eyes, as he munched on some nuts.
Hyperion just growled at that, as he slapped his sister-wife's hands off his shoulders and glared at her. "You are not the wife I knew. My Theia would've never sided with our enemy!"
"H-Hyperion, please…!" Theia brought her hands up in a placating gesture, as her façade started showing more cracks. "Things just aren't the same as they were before-"
"Oh, you've got that much right!" The Titan shouted, cutting her off with a tooth-bared scowl of fury and betrayal. "The one I chose to wed has turned into someone I no longer recognize. Someone who chose to turn traitor for 'mercy', casting aside her pride as a Titaness. And I do wonder now…" His growl was more guttural, as he snapped his intense gaze between her and Beerus. "If you were willing to go that far, and given your submissiveness to him, if you haven't also cast aside your shame, by allowing that bastard floating above us to fuck you!"
"W-Wha!?" Theia sputtered at that, face going pale at the accusation, especially given that it was very nearly true, as she had indeed offered her body to Beerus. Something he could, in fact, take advantage of, if he wished it so, as she had been desperate enough to agree to him being able to demand virtually anything of her.
"I'm right, aren't I!?" He took her failure to immediately respond as a yes, in his haze of rage. "You let him have his way with you, huh!? Take you like a common nymph, on your back or your hands and knees like his obedient little servant!?" He all but spat with vitriol, as he thrust his ever-strengthening glare Beerus' way. "Did you have fun with her, you repugnant beast!? I'll wager you had her for yourself just to spite me!"
"Oh please…" Beerus' snort of derisive amusement only had Hyperion fuming more, as Theia glanced up to him. "You really think if I were petty and spiteful enough to get her to have sex with me, solely for your humiliation, that I wouldn't have chosen to make her do that while you watched?"
"You despicable…!" Hyperion only shook with further rage, taking his words the wrong way. "So, is that your plan, then? Have me pleading for your worthless forgiveness, as you fuck my sister-wife!?" He roared in hate.
Obnoxiously so, as far as the god of destruction was concerned, as he cleaned one of his ears with his pinkie, while glaring back down at him with a slight frown. "No, it isn't, but if you keep grating my ears like that with your screeching, I just might." He then turned his attention to the Titaness, who looked aghast at what he'd just said. "I was kidding." He deadpanned at her, before shaking his head. "You going to get the real show on, now? Because I'm pretty sure it should be clear to you, that he won't listen to anything you have to say, at this point, Theia."
"Tch. Real show, he says…" The Titan of heavenly light spat, as his body glowed even brighter, seemingly on the cusp of entering his True Divine Form, as he took a step back, and to Theia's astonished horror, aimed one palm up at her face, and the other toward Beerus. Both glowing brighter than the rest of him with his holy light, ready to be unleashed in a blast of destructive power in both directions. "I'll give the both of you a 'real show', alright…!"
"Hyperion, please! Calm down!" At this point, Theia's façade was crumbling, as she had tears trickling down her cheeks, seeing her brother-husband ready to blast her. Malicious intent beginning to roll off him in waves, mixed in with the feelings of anguish she'd caused him.
"Oh no. The time for 'calm', has well and truly passed, traitor!" He uttered back with such venom directed toward her, that the Titaness felt her heart begin to twist more and more. "You made your choice, to become a traitorous servant to our enemy, and now, I'm making mine!"
"No!" It was almost instinctive, but despite the risk, Theia moved forward and clasped Hyperion's hands in her own, interlinking their fingers together. The Titaness expecting some form of pain for this, but oddly receiving none. A fact she paid no mind to, in the moment, as her action stunned her husband enough to briefly stop him from taking an absurdly reckless, self-destructive path. "Brother, please, just listen to me for a moment more!"
When he didn't immediately move to retaliate, instead glancing over at their joint hands, she took that as her cue to continue.
"Hyperion… I understand why you're upset… Why you no doubt feel hurt… and angry… and betrayed…" She gulped anxiously. "And I won't stand here and tell you that you aren't justified in feeling like that… But if given the option again, I'd still do the same." Her voice cracked, but paradoxically, hardened as well, as she said this. The sheer emotion leaking through causing her husband to whip his eyes back to her face, widened eyes watching, as she shed more unbidden tears. "I did what I did to bring you back, even knowing you'd most likely hate me for it, because alongside our children, you mean more to me than anything else…" She stated with a level of conviction – of passion – that made him stiffen, as her watery eyes met his, looking devastated, yet unwavering in her stance. "And you always will."
Hyperion twitched, but otherwise, didn't have much else of a reaction to her words, as she pulled their joint hands closer together, so they were by their chests, as she kept her gaze on his face, not noticing the flecks of purple escaping from their hands, nor how the light of his mitts had fully dimmed.
Theia looked like she was about to start hyperventilating, but kept herself composed enough to press on coherently. "Feel free to despise me for the rest of eternity, if you wish… I'll accept being deserving of that… but I will not have you returned to the state you were just in, for all of time. I refuse!" She all but screamed, garnering a flinch from him. "I'd rather you never spoke to me again… shunned me forever… but still being well, over the alternative, which is you barely existing at all!"
The Titaness pushed herself closer, then, resting herself against his body, chest to chest, on her tip-toes, with their temples touching, as if attempting to reach closer to his heart. Something that seemed to have an effect, given the way his brows began twitching, and his expression seemed to soften, as he watched her cry so close to him.
"I… I know I'm being selfish, brother… I know what I ask is damaging to your pride… but please…" She stressed the word with a grimace, as her voice lowered, but cracked even more, as she sobbed. "I-I beg of you… push it aside and do as Lord Beerus wants… You don't even have to mean it, outside of not getting in his way… just… just do it and get it over with…! Because after that, you're free from the horrid fate you were given… Free from further punishment… Free to live… And that's all that matters…"
She also wouldn't have to fight and try to force him to, either, which would just be even more painful for her, and for him. That was something that both of them knew.
"Theia…" The Titan of heavenly light spoke her name in almost a whisper. His outward rage, at the very least, towards her, seeming to have faded, as he gazed upon her emotionally distraught features. His eyes uncomprehending, as where before, all he'd ever seen, in any situation that didn't involve coitus, was a usually calm and collected, but at times, downright ferocious goddess, was now a fragile divinity, who looked to be on the cusp of a breakdown.
Just what in the world had been done to his sister-wife, to bring her to such a pitiful low? Was her mind being controlled? Her emotions tampered with?
"What have you done to her?" Hyperion accusingly asked, tilting his head back and away from his sister-wife's own, as he scowled menacingly up at the destroyer.
"Nothing at all." Beerus answered nonchalantly, unbothered by the look he was given, as he popped a savoury fig into his mouth to crunch on, delighting in the juices that poured forth into his maw, as a result. "Everything that's happened with her, is of her own choices. I didn't need to control her mind or anything, if that's what you're thinking. She chose to defect, knowing you lot would lose, and she chose to strike a deal with me, after getting her pardon, so that she could rescue your rotten ass from the predicament I put you in. It really is as simple as that."
"Hmph. As simple as that, huh?" Hyperion narrowed his eyes so sharply, they were almost like slits, as nothing but golden light peeled beyond his eyelids.
"Yes. Now, if you're quite done stalling, you've got three options." Beerus said casually, as he popped a few berries into his mouth. The juiciest and tastiest he'd ever had. "Mmrmh!... Get on your hands and knees and start begging for my forgiveness, or resist, if you want, and either be forced to do it, by your wife, or failing even that, back to a coma, for you. I don't mind, either way." He smirked down at him viciously and cruelly. "Of course, I won't deny that seeing you get your ass kicked again would be the more entertaining experience. So, if you're feeling up to it, go right ahead and make my day, by giving Theia no other choice, but to pummel you."
He could do with a good laugh, after all, before he had his fun with humiliating the Titan's brothers and nephew, next.
"You… wretched scum…!" The elder Titan grit his teeth hard enough to crush through even the hardest of stone. He was actually goading him now, into doing what he'd almost done a moment prior, just so he could watch him fight his own sister-wife. And if that power he felt from her, which was not her own, that had shut down his magic was any indication, he'd granted her a boon to do what his power could, against him, such as inflicting wounds that didn't heal. No doubt under the belief that a fight would happen between them.
His attitude before him made it clear. Kronos' awful son was enjoying this! Making him suffer, for his own amusement. Placing him in a lose-lose situation where no matter what, the bastard got precisely what he wanted, as regardless of what Hyperion chose to do, he'd be 'put in his place'. About the only difference between said options, was Beerus' preference, that he'd just made apparent.
"Time's ticking, Hyperion." The GOD spoke again, obnoxiously so, in said Titan's mind, as he gazed down upon him in such a disdainful way while eating his blasted meal, that it took every fibre of the elder Titan's self-control not to lash out and try to rip his jaw off his putrid face. "You should know, I only have so much patience, especially for your type." Or, in other words, none at all. "So, I'm going to speed things along, since I'm not in the mood for waiting." His damned smirk seemed to only grow more potent, as he pointed at the Titan. "If you don't make a decision by the time I finish this bowl of mine, I'll make the decision for you."
It didn't take a genius to know which ones Kronos' son would pick between. Heck, the prick may even combine them, just to spite him extra hard, so he'd get to see him beat down again, force a grovelling out of him, and then send him back to that comatose state. Hyperion could absolutely see this son of a bitch doing that, Theia's foolish feelings in this be damned, after she'd been made to make him go through the former two, out of those three.
The Titan felt such incredible anger and dismay within him, for the fact that his sister-wife had gone along with all this. Had essentially set it up, after casting aside much of what he loved so dearly about her, and was so focused on just having him back, that she was willing to have him loathe her, for all eternity, for what she'd done, so long as it meant he was fine. Before now, he could've never even conceived of her pulling such cowardice and betrayal of the character he'd known all his life. Didn't even consider that she could become the Titaness before him now, made submissive to the whims of their greatest enemy, just to bring him back, when she knew he wouldn't want this. That he'd have preferred to stay in that accursed coma, instead of waking to all this, and being forced into such humiliation.
Yet, at the same time though, as he felt her cry against him and heard her sobbing in such an undignified way… there was also a part of him that felt pity for her. Pity for the situation she was now in, that clearly took a toll on her, but also pity at the wreck of a creature he saw she'd become, when compared to the perfect partner he'd known. One he'd likely never see again, thanks to Kronos' spawn…
This was… unforgiveable.
All of it.
"H-Hyperion…!?" Theia started in alarm, face messy with tears, as he suddenly yanked her to the side, forcing her off of him roughly enough that she failed to maintain her balance, as she fell to the ground on her side, where she let out a gasp. "Ungh!..."
"You want it that bad, huh?" The Titan growled disdainfully, as he looked at neither, making it unclear who he was referring to, as Theia snapped her head to him. "Fine then…"
"Hmm?" Beerus was admittedly surprised, as he saw Hyperion quite begrudgingly lower himself to a knee, planting a clenched fist into the soil beneath him, as he dipped his head, in a stiff bow.
"I…" His teeth ground together even more, threatening to crack, as he forced the words out of himself, in the manner that his enemy was looking for. "I humbly beg of your forgiveness, for my… unjust actions. I… I was wrong to stand against you… and… I deeply apologize for all that I have done, against you and yours…" It was like ripping flesh and tearing bones, just getting this out, as his balled fist pushed deeper into the ground, forming a small crater, as it shook with barely supressed outrage. His pride never feeling more insulted than it did now, despite him meaning not a single word of what he forced out of his throat. "You were… right to take us down. We… deserved every bit of what we got. I deserve every bit of what I've gotten, and… I swear to you now… I will never get in your way, again. You… have my word…"
"O-Oh, thank goodness…!" Theia exclaimed, and the sheer amount of excitement and relief she exuded in that brief moment, for him lowering himself like a measly animal, was nearly enough to make Hyperion puke, just from the compounded disgust, as she rose up to her knees and looked up toward the destroyer. Hopeful of his response. "See, Lord Beerus!? My brother-husband gave you exactly what you wanted, right!? I-It's over now, yes? He's free to go, isn't he!? Please, I beg of you, my Lord, say that he is!"
My Lord…? She calls him that so easily… no different from a lowly servant nymph to us, back on Othrys… Hyperion somehow felt more ill, in that instant, then he had when Beerus had struck him down with that evil sword of his. The sister-wife I knew… truly is gone… She'd have never debased herself, like this…
"Hmm… Well, I would've preferred to see a beatdown, but I suppose that will do…" Beerus shrugged, genuinely stunned a bit, as well as disappointed, that it hadn't come to blows, which he'd been banking on happening, especially with the boon he'd granted the Titaness. And a part of him felt like this wasn't enough, and that the Titan should be humbled, just a bit more, but with such a wonderful dream he'd had, plus a decent morning, with the fine meal in his lap, he was feeling in a pretty good, generous mood. Plus, he had gotten the other thing he really wanted to see, so he supposed this was acceptable. "Consider that good enough, Hyperion. You officially have my mercy."
The GOD then floated down closer to the ground, where the Titan was still bowing, before patting him on the head. "Be sure not to waste it, now." The destroyer added smugly, and he was sure he heard the Titan's teeth actually crack, in that moment. "Because you're not getting another chance after this, I assure you. This is quite lenient by my standards, as it is, after all."
"Oh, I'll be sure to not waste this 'freedom', alright…" Hyperion grinded out, as he glared up with nothing short of the highest contempt, at in his mind, the single most despicable god in the Universe, whose condescending smugness boiled his divine blood like no other. Enjoy this little moment of humiliation for me, while you can, scum, for I give it and tarnish my pride for one reason, and one reason only. No matter what it takes, I'll find a way to take you down, humiliate you as you have done me and my brethren, and make you regret ever crossing me and my siblings. That, I truly swear! With every fibre of my being!
"Right then. I'll be off to handle my business with your brothers and nephew. Feel free to do as you will." Beerus remarked with a dismissive wave, not bothering to spare Hyperion another glance, as he pulled out the last item of food left in his bowl, which was a banana, before rising up and away from the couple, as he vanished the bowl from his other hand.
As he left, Theia chanced moving closer to her brother-husband, only to pause, as he sent another heated glare her way, all but telling her not to come any closer, before his body lit up, and soon spirited away, leaving behind a dissipating body of golden flecks, where he'd once been.
The Titaness could only watch as he did, tears still flowing, feeling a mix of shame and relief, in tandem, with the latter being more prevalent, despite it all, as she'd gotten what she wanted, in the end. Her beloved brother-husband back, safe and sound, no longer in an abysmal state of existence, even if it meant their relationship was potentially, irreparably destroyed.
So long as he was back to his original state, free of burden, that alone made this all worth it, for her.
Meanwhile…
"Well, that definitely wasn't pleasant to watch, though it definitely could've been far worse…" Koios commented with a frown and arms crossed, as he, Krios and Atlas viewed the whole sequence involving their restored brother and uncle, from a great distance away, perched atop a mountain much smaller in scope than Othrys.
"True, but I don't think Hyperion sees it that way, with all that rage – as understandable as it was – that I could feel radiating from our brother, even from here. I worry for him, if we are not able to take Beerus down, this day." Krios added his take, feeling great sympathy and empathy for his brother's situation.
"We will take him down. We must. Failure now cannot be an option." Atlas rumbled with hands mounted on his hips, refusing to even consider the idea of them losing, as it would only hamper morale. "Victory shall be ours, so long as we follow our strategy, and when Beerus is defeated, we shall be sure to give my dearest uncle his own vengeance upon the god who caused him the most anguish. He deserves that much, at least, for all that he has gone through." That, and he'd prove his traitorous father wrong, while freeing his daughter from the service she would've otherwise had no choice but to give to the foul son of his departed Lord Kronos.
"If you ask me, he didn't even deserve what I just gave him. He and you lot should count yourselves lucky that I was feeling so generous. I could've and have been far less kind, as you well know." The trio of Titan's snapped their heads up, as Beerus suddenly appeared above them, all but standing in the air, several metres up from them, as he munched on his peeled-open fruit, eying them all with casual amusement. "That being said, now it's your turn. Do be sure to at least make this little bout of ours interesting, alright?"
"Hmph. As arrogant as always. We shall see how long that lasts, in the face of our combined might!" Atlas shot back coldly, he and his uncles' glares as defiant and fierce as Hyperion's had been, as none wasted any further time conversing with their most hated adversary, for in their minds, there was nothing more to discuss. Their bodies beginning to glow, power skyrocketing, as they began their ascent towards their True Divine Forms immediately. "Prepare yourself, Beerus!"
"You should worry more about yourselves, than me, Atlas. To you, this is your most important battle, but to me? It's merely entertainment. Nothing more." The destroyer replied dismissively, as he chucked the last portion of banana into his mouth and chewed, as his own form quickly grew to match their natural, Titan size, and also began to glow. His features beginning to resemble his cat-like appearance of old, hair disappearing in place of large ears while his tail whipped out behind him, as his body shined a deep shade of purple, while his tunic faded away.
And just an instant after he swallowed his fruit and burned the skin away, a towering pillar of purple energy clashed with three others of silverish-white, grey and orange-gold as they all achieved ascension at once. The very air itself, along with the terrain and surrounding sea ahead of them quaking, as a result, as their colliding energies shot skyward, seemingly without end, for an instant.
Meanwhile… Back on Olympus peak…
"And so, it begins…" Zeus observed stoically, eyes narrowed and arms folded over his chest, hair and tunic rustling in the wind, as from near the edge of the mountaintop, he watched the four pillars of light collide, and sensed the immeasurable raising of the four deities power levels.
"How long do you give those three to last, before your brother has dispensed of them?" Metis asked with slight curiosity, as she stood beside him, with her own arms crossed beneath her bosom, her hair and tunic also rustling in the wind, as she viewed what was about to happen.
"If he chooses to toy with them, which I suspect he will, it may take some time. If not? You and I both know this would be over before any of those three could move a muscle." Zeus snorted, genuinely feeling a form of pity for those three, despite them being his enemies. "The one thing I'm hoping for, is that they don't end up leaving him in a bad mood, else I may have to wait a bit more, for my brother to be in a more amicable air to truly listen to my proposal."
"At worst, that should only delay your talk with him by a little, given all you'd need to raise his spirits, from what I saw at the celebration, is bequeath to him some of the best food we have, and he'll be pleased, once again." The Oceanid remarked with no small amount of amusement.
"Hrmm." Zeus grunted in acknowledgement of her assessment, but did little else. His face set into a frown.
Metis noticed this, as well as the odd tension of his body, and furrowed her brows at her consort. "Is there something wrong, Zeus? Are you having more doubts about your coming discussion with your elder brother, perhaps?"
"No. Nothing on those lines." The god of thunder shook his head. "You've already well enough explained to me my options, should said discussion not go how I'd hope it would."
"Then what is it, my love?" She asked in concern. "For you are unusually tense, at the moment, and I'd like to know why."
For a bit, the youngest Olympian was silent, as he pondered his response. Metis, ever the patient goddess, awaited his answer calmly.
"Well…" He finally said, not looking too certain. "I'm not sure how to put it, really. Just for some reason, I have a bad feeling about what's to come, as I watch my brother ascend. I know not why, but my gut stirs and tells me to be ready, and such a sensation has never led me astray, before."
Metis blinked, but otherwise, did not offer a rebuttal, as she nodded her head. A slightly disconcerted expression taking hold, at Zeus' odd gut feeling.
What exactly could his instincts be warning him of? It wasn't like the three Titans ahead were of any actual threat, for even if Beerus wasn't around to be dealing with them right now, they had more than enough firepower to handle the trio, themselves, after the Ophiotaurus' boon.
So, what exactly was causing the distress of her partner, she wondered?
Meanwhile…
After a moment's pass, the pillars of power dissipated and the genitalia-less forms of the four deities' muscular, radiant bodies revealed themselves, auras flowing freely around their outlines, with the Titan trio's like wild, raging flames, whilst Beerus' was more a thin film, calm and unchanging.
"Come on then, you three. Show me what you've got!" Beerus called out to them, while folded one arm behind his back, turning sideways, and outstretching the other arm towards them, fingers pressed together and palm facing out.
In response, to start off, the three Titans all projected a barrier around the area, spanning far and wide, targeted solely on him, cutting off Beerus' ability to teleport or shapeshift on command, as he felt those abilities be completely locked away from him. And the destroyer made no attempt to rid himself of this affliction – which he very much so could've done just as fast as they pushed these limits on him – as he'd never intended to use either of them, anyway.
It was in that short instant following their joint barrier's completion, where the destroyer made no immediate attempt to fashion one of his own for the trio, in turn, that Atlas was the first to make a move and take advantage. His form vanishing and leaving behind countless specks of both gold and silverish-white, before he instantly reappeared with a flash right before Beerus, with hulking arm wound back, before sending it careening toward the god of destruction's face.
Beerus' outstretched arm blurred, hand moving up to swiftly block the strike that would've otherwise landed, if Atlas' opponent were one of his younger brothers. A loud THOOM echoing, as the Titan of strength and endurance's fist made contact, billowing out a mighty shockwave from the sheer force behind it, that had all around the duo shaking.
Unmoved by the blow, Beerus was about to retaliate with a kick to the face, before his ears picked up what vaguely sounded like a screeching noise coming from above him, before a light passed over his vision. And in response, without taking his eyes off of Atlas, his body moved, his own strength to push Atlas back, before twirling in the air, as his leg sliced up. His heel, charged with the power of destruction, colliding with the sharp edge of a gargantuan construct that greatly dwarfed Olympus in size. One that he just about registered must've been a weaponized form of constellation, before his domain overwhelmed it, and perhaps even sooner than it had appeared from nothing, was shattered like glass into a shower of light fragments tinged with purple.
Atlas was then upon him again, face a stony mask, as he teleported in a flash next to him, arms raised and hands clasped above his head, before bringing them down toward his chest, as his muscular form bulged and became bigger, signifying an increase in raw power. One that Beerus easily sensed, as he brought his arms up to block. The blow crashing into his forearms and uttering a deafening CRACK through the air and another booming shockwave, as this time, the god of destruction was sent shooting down at high speeds.
He was about halfway to flat ground, before he was intercepted by Krios, who also teleported in-front of him, with his burning, bright, orange-gold fist already in fast motion toward his abdomen. And Beerus was also fast to respond, using the momentum Atlas had given him to torque his upside-down frame and angle himself for the blow to miss, while slashing out his own leg for a counter-strike to the head. One that narrowly missed his charge, as the Titan managed to duck it, having his kick simply skin off his dome, instead.
As he missed his shot, Beerus took note of a pattern glowing on the Titan's side. He couldn't make out the whole thing, but he could vaguely make out a beast's jaws, as he felt air and space shift behind him. A glow casting over him with its own shadow, before a constellation-construct of a lion appeared, mouth opened wide. Its overall size much less than that of the previous construct, but its head alone still dwarfing Beerus by magnitudes, as it bit down on the destroyer. Its maw capturing the GOD's lower half, before whipping its head and hurling him away, to the side. The intent being to rip him in half, as it did so.
The construct's head was obliterated for the effort in a shower of light fragments, as Beerus' aura blasted forth, taking it out, as his body was flung away, leaving the rest of the lion's form to fizzle away into nothing, as the destroyer began righting himself. But no sooner had he, then did Koios appear behind, and sensing this, Beerus used the momentum afforded to him, just like with Atlas' attack, to spin around with frightening speed, aiming to club the Titan in the cranium with a sharp elbow.
"Hhgn!..." The destroyer felt air be expended from his lungs, however, as his attack was ducked under without issue, while he was struck back in turn. His momentum still helping to propel him into the hard punch that smashed into his gut, increasing the damage done and bending his body over the limb that crashed into him. And in that ever so brief moment where he was stunned by the blow, his head was violently whipped back then, as Koios followed up with a hellacious uppercut to the chin.
Far from actually disoriented, Beerus caught sight of Atlas' hulking frame – now even bigger than before – suddenly above him, in a flash, and raised his arms up to his head in a block, as the Titan stomped down on him, a mighty BOOM resounding, as a result. The force shooting his now blurring body down like a bullet, as his back collided with the ground, impact producing a shockwave that shook the lands far and wide, as massive chunks of earth were flung high in the air, broken off the ground, as a large crater formed from Beerus' fall.
"This fool still has yet to throw up a barrier of his own." Koios remarked with narrowed eyes, as Atlas and Krios floated nearby. "With our clear use of them there, one would think he would've by now, but from what I see of him, in my mind's eye, he has no intent to do so."
"So, he believes he'll beat us, even with all our abilities afforded to us, whilst he himself is limited?" Atlas scoffed, both pleased and displeased by this revelation. "He is even more arrogant than I'd believed, then. But this is good. It makes accomplishing our strategy even easier."
"Agreed." Koios and Krios nodded their heads, the former sure to keep his eyes trained closer than the other two on his position at all times, as a flash of purple arose from where they'd sent the destroyer, before even more chunks of earth were violently upheaved, as the god zoomed out toward them, body undamaged. His expression unclear, but intent obvious, as he soared up at breakneck speed.
The trio scattered in response, with Atlas pushing back and the other two spreading out to the sides, as Beerus zoomed up and missed them. His eyes rapidly moving left, right and forward at all of them, before deciding to pursue Atlas first, and the Titan's eyes widened a little, as the destroyer shot toward him even faster than he'd ascended the air, and faster than anticipated, looking to be aiming for a fist to his face.
Still, the Titan was prepared, and more so than he was expecting to be, before the battle had commenced, as his form instantly shifted, Beerus' fist hitting nothing but air, as the body of a serpent replaced Atlas' usual form, winding around the outstretched limb with a hiss. The destroyer's other hand then immediately sliced up for a chop to the head, but Atlas shifted again, becoming a small fly that buzzed beneath Beerus' whizzing hand, before shifting a third time, returning to his usual shape. His knee swinging up to smash into his gut, only to be blocked by Beerus' own, which came up in the nick of time.
Atlas pressed on, however, for that attack was but a distraction, as his hands were already clasped above his head, yet again, before he brought them down in another hammering blow for Beerus' cranium. This too, was stopped, as Beerus shot his hands up and gripped Atlas' wrists, halting the momentum entirely, just before the clasped hands reached his head.
"Not bad for a start, but you lot will need a lot better than this, if you wish to keep me entertained." The destroyer commented with a light smirk, as Atlas sharply narrowed his shining pools at him.
The Titan didn't dignify such a statement with any verbal answer, instead letting out a cross between a grunt and growl, as his aura burgeoned and muscles bulged further, as he broke his wrists free of Beerus' grip and backed away. A small form of retreat that the god of destruction allowed, as he felt the presences of the other two Titans materialized on either side of him, bathed in fading golden specks, as both threw a punch aimed for his face, which he had to stop with his open palms.
What followed after, was both elder Titans grunting, as they launched into a barrage of blows that aimed for various parts of his body, with fists, forearms, elbows, knees, shins and feet all flying and arcing toward the destroyer with dangerous precision and impressive power. Each collision causing major quakes from the environment all around. Their aggression forcing Beerus back and on the defensive, as his arms and legs came up to block and deflect them all, in a whirlwind of calculated, superb movements that showed off the god's mastery of martial arts, as not a single blow of either Titan, despite them having a numbers advantage, was able to break through his defence.
Neither of Kronos' older brothers seemed annoyed or perturbed by their current lack of ability to get passed his guard, now that Beerus was putting in a bit more effort, however. Rather, both were intense and focused, continuing their combined assault, even in the face of Beerus' unyielding defence, as they kept him focused on them.
"Hmm… A little better…" Beerus idly claimed, before taking advantage the slight opening between both Titans' attacks to lash back out, aiming a kick for Koios' head, while thrusting an elbow for Krios' gut. The former wasting no time in teleporting away, leaving Beerus' foot to sail harmlessly through dissipating flecks of gold and grey, while the latter took advantage of his usable shape-shifting to transform into a small bird that twirled its avian body over the offending limb. Its tiny body allowing for easy evasion, before it shifted back, when close to Beerus' cheek. The talon replaced by a massive foot, which then ploughed into him, knocking a small bit of divine spittle from his maw, as he knocked him back, all whilst another pattern on his body glowed.
Then, from the heavens on high, the constellation-construct of the same bird Krios had morphed into, only much larger in size, matching the lion from earlier, descended toward Beerus at terrifying velocity. Its wings tucking in, as it spun round and round, becoming like a twister with how fast it whirled. Its motion literally keeping up an enormous tornado behind it, with its beak becoming akin to a fearsome drill, as it dropped down on the seemingly vulnerable god of destruction.
With a simple raise of his palm, however, and a slight blaze of his aura through it, the instant the sharp, spinning beak made contact, it, along with the 'bird' itself, were broken down into flecks of purple, as the construct was destroyed in the blink of an eye. He was not allowed to relax, however, as through the sea of flecks, Koios did appear in a blur above him, hurling a storm of punches down upon him, forcing the god to turtle up and ward off each one with his palms, as he was steadily pushed down. The clashes of aura-imbued, radiant skin-on-skin warping the area around them, making earth, water and air tremble.
"Huh. So, is this your strategy, then? Just bombard me with whatever you can? A bit simpler than I expected, but I suppose it can be rather effective." Beerus broached, his expression rather relaxed, still, despite the focus he maintained.
"Nngh!... A fool like you would come to that conclusion, wouldn't you?" Koios, surprisingly, grunted back, as his assault persisted. The gleam of his shining, white, pupilless eyes more prominent then ever, as the dark markings around his bald head glowed darkly and distinctly. "You'll bare witness soon enough to what we have planned, but by the time your feeble mind grasps it, it shall already be too late for you!"
"Bold words!" Beerus laughed. "Let's see how accurate they are!"
"Yes… Indeed, we shall!" Krios barked out from below him, appearing in a flash of light, a spear constructed of the stars held in hand, as he thrust it up, aiming to skewer the destroyer through his spine.
Beerus retaliation was swift and dexterous, torquing his body, just as his palm blocked Koios' latest punch, and slashing his other hand down, as if it were his blade, slicing right through the head of the constructed spear with no issue, before following up with a savage swing of his leg, as Krios was pushing in.
KH-THOOM!
Space and sky rippled, as his blow landed flush, this time, as he kicked Krios on the side of his face, cracking the divine bones within, along with knocking out a few teeth with a spritz of ichor, as the Titan's body was rocketed down to the ground below. The land reshaping on impact, as a crater of even greater size than the one Beerus had made was formed, while the surrounded land rumbled viciously, with a plethora of broken, earthy shards and chunks sent skyward in numerous directions.
"Think he'll be seeing more of the stars, after that one?" Beerus joked darkly, earning a mild eye-twitch from Koios, as the latter pushed himself back, disengaging from his assault.
The god of destruction then immediately pushed back, as the large form of Atlas casted a shadow over him, and the Titan's heavy fist came sailing down passed him at blindingly fast speeds, seeming to drag space itself with it, he noticed, like an anchor. The Olympian also taking note of the increase to Atlas' bodily mass, yet again, with how enormous his muscles had become, being practically double what they were, when he'd first ascended into his marble-like, glimmering visage.
"I'd kindly advise against you bringing the sky down, again, if you have any intention of doing that. Once was enough for that little trick." The GOD commented, due to the light spatial rending, almost as if he were speaking to an unruly child, rather than a mighty Titan who most would dare not cross, physically.
Atlas only huffed in reply, sparing him no words, as he pushed forward, only to vanish before Beerus' sight in a shower of particles, and then reappear behind him, with fist already plummeting down on his dome.
"Not going to say anything back?" Beerus asked, as his hand flew up and caught the attack, stopping it dead in his palm, just above his head. "How odd. I'd heard you were a lot more talkative in battle, from Themis and my brothers."
"There's nothing to say to you, Beerus." The hulking behemoth grunted back with a hint of wrath, as he reached out and grabbed Beerus' wrist with his other hand. "My fists will do the talking for me!" He bellowed, as he kicked his body into an intensive, high-speed spin, becoming like a mini-twister unto himself, as he spun the god around at a blistering pace, before sending him flying away, high into the heavens, like a shooting star in reverse.
And it was as Beerus ascended high, a familiar Titan accosted him, teleporting into his flight path with an angry snarl on his now somewhat misshapen face, holding up what looked to be a dipper constructed of the stars, as he slammed it down with malice, putting the whole weight of his body behind it. The impact breaking the construct with a sound like broken glass, but also sending Beerus body hurtling downward at even more extreme speeds, crashing into the earth below like a comet and uprooting several mountains in the process.
When the dust cleared, however, Beerus was in a crouch, heels dug into the damaged earth and soil of the trench his fall had made, his eyes gazing up at the three Titans and looking no worse for wear, with nary a scratch on his person. And soon, he stood back up, rolling his neck in his hand, as he let off another smirk.
Well, so far, at least, these three have yet to bore me. Jury's still out, on how long that'll last, though. The Olympian god of destruction thought to himself, humoured a good bit by their current efforts, as his aura flared just a tad more. Time to kick things up another notch, and see how they fare.
And with that in mind, he blasted back off toward them, rattling the ground with his latest ascent.
Around that time… far beneath the surface of the earth…
"Grrrrrrrrrrrgh!" Bestial eyes snapped wide and open from their prior slumber, as the cavern around the gargantuan, grotesque frame of Typhon shook. A ghastly growl launching from the perturbance, as a snarl came over all the faces of the giant monstrosity, at once, as he suddenly rose up with aggression.
"Ooooooh! Looks like your father is flexing that ravishing power of his, again." Ekhidna said with blissful glee, serpentine tongue wiggling from her mouth, as she too rose up, excitement palpable, as her body shuddered, arms hugging herself, as she felt the pressure of the destroyer's True Divine Form being bared above them, in the midst of battle. "And those three against him, those are my brothers and nephew, if I'm not mistaken! It seems like they're really having quite the clash!"
"Clash…" The word grated out of the monster son of the destroyer and Mother Earth's humanoid mouth, as flames of dark purple billowed through his sharp teeth, as something triggered within him, feeling his father's true power reveal itself, for this confrontation. Something that only his father could bring out of him. "They're fighting…"
"Yes, they are, my love." The She-snake grinned wickedly up at her consort, who appeared to have tensed for battle himself, on an instinctual level, just from feeling his father's aura boost to such wonderous heights, alone. The kind that would allow him to inflict total destruction upon the Universe itself, if he so wished. And despite how such would mean her own end, too, Ekhidna flushed with arousal at the thought, before one of her lover's father – whom she would adore being her lover, as well – turning such immeasurable, destructive power against those three, dominated her mind. "They're doing battle… and Lord Beerus is going to show off that mesmerizing power that only he holds for destruction, I can feel it…!"
And she was proven correct, of course, as many more quakes followed, with the feeling of Beerus' aura behind it, shaking all the earthen body of her mother around them to her foundations, it felt like, as the three-on-one battle raged above.
Oh, if only she could go up there and watch! Be able to view the whole thing, as it happened, and spectate the euphoric sight of the god of destruction taking those three down, and even better again, destroying them like he had Kronos! A spectacle like that… Ekhidna could only breathe deep and sharp at the thought alone, her face twisting into a disturbingly depraved, orgasmic visage, as her body heated up, nipples stiffening and netherlips trembling, as she shuddered even harder, and her tail swished erratically behind her. A longing to see this battle play out rising quickly, even knowing there was no chance of leaving this underground cave, without her mother's permission.
"I… want to see… father fight…!" The destroyer's son growled louder, this time ignorant of his consort's increasing horniness to his parent's presence above, and the thoughts of what she wished him to do, as he glared up above him with all his heads at the cave's ceiling, as he shook with varying emotions. His focus entirely on the upcoming battle above, which involved his dad having to unveil the very form that'd taken him down with one blow, and which had him in awe, since he'd witnessed it firsthand. A form that radiated with a power that spoke to him in ways nothing else ever had, simultaneously capable of calming him down, and riling him up like no other could.
In a sense, his mother hadn't been wrong about him being better behaved, after his father had knocked him down, but that was mostly because Typhon had been processing the event, deeply fascinated by his parent's power, which he'd clearly inherited, and respected on some level. However, his thirst for violence and destruction had hardly been mitigated, in the slightest. If anything, it'd only grown since his father's display of might against him, putting him in his place, for the first time in his existence. The beastly side of him, which still dominated his conscious, over the so-called 'civil' side his mother preached for, thrilled at having a target to aspire toward taking down. To zone in on and focus upon crushing and destroying with all his strength, to assert his dominance.
It was more subconscious on his part than anything, but bloodlust leaked off him in waves, as the snakes that made up his feet wriggled and spasmed with excitement, while his bestial heads roared with ferocity and zeal. An oppressive aura that promised destruction outlining his beastly form, as his natural size grew, in real time, spurred on by his climbing state of excitement.
"I want it… I want it… I want it…!" The monster repeated like a mantra, in what many would call a childish manner, as he clenched his fists, his wings spreading wide, as though ready to take flight and attempt to smash his way through the cavern his mother had made to contain him. "I want to see… I want to… engage...!"
"Oh, I just love it when this side comes out of you~!" Ekhidna squealed in delight, looking up lovingly at Typhon, as she felt her consort's aura become more and more feral, in response to the sensation of Beerus' power. Something that had always occurred, whenever said god's power spiked high enough, in the past, making him worse than usual, up until father and son had officially met, recently. A meeting that their mother had hoped would do something to quell Typhon's aggression some, but clearly, it hadn't been as effective as she would've hoped.
It'd only seemed that way, because her love had been processing his first meeting with the fellow and superior destroyer, and then afterward, took out the newfound aggression he'd gained, after her flirting with his father, on her, during a brutal form of coitus. One that mixed equal parts pain with pleasure, and had left her quite battered, but immensely satisfied, by the end, as both fell asleep.
The truth was, nothing had actually been done, to her joy, to stem the monstrous giant's wild flare and desire to battle, and an even deeper, primal desire to destroy, that made her lover so enticing to her, from the very moment they'd been introduced. One that she'd bet her soul on having come from his father, no matter how 'civilised' he wished to appear, for she knew such wildness had to be present in him, too, from the moment she'd laid eyes on that gorgeous god. He was merely held back, is all, which could certainly be rectified.
It was in that moment, that the voice of Gaea resounded from seemingly all directions, voice carrying concern and wariness. "Typhon, please, calm yourself, my child!"
"You and I both know your words alone won't do anything, mother!" Ekhidna spoke back, while watching her consort in awe, as much as she felt it for his father above.
"Then please, Ekhidna, do as you must to help keep him from going out of control, at least until I can bring his father down for another visit! I can feel his power rising by the second!" Gaea called back in alarm, the cave responding to her will to keep him contained, as the aura that was near invisible all around them became thicker, as if in preparation for another tantrum.
"Oh, I would, mother, but after finally meeting Lord Beerus in person, and being aware of just how badly my dear Typhon wants to get closer to him, right now, I'm not sure I want to get in his way, this time." The she-snake responded almost dismissively, letting her own dark desires get ahead of her, as she hugged and wrapped herself around her growing consort's waist. "And what's wrong, after all, with wanting to see what's about to happen, up there, and letting your son have some more bonding time with his father, hmm? He was bound to be let out eventually, right~?"
"When he is ready! And that time has yet to come! You know this!" Gaea argued back, in almost total disbelief that Ekhidna was pulling this on her, as even with her nature, she'd always been loyal to whatever Gaea had asked of her, until now. "Please, dear daughter, help me restrain him, before he-"
"Graaaaaaaah!" A roar leapt forth from Typhon, cutting the primordial off, as without waiting another moment, he launched himself off the ground, body still expanding, as he flew up toward the cavern's ceiling, his fist reeling back…
AND CUT!
Well, that's the end of this one, and man, has it been a freakin while!
I have no real excuse for it taking as long as it did, other than the motivation just not being there, and instead being with other fics of mine, along with other stuff IRL, up until my holiday to Greece, which reignited my drive for TOGOD.
This, however, would have come out earlier, on the last day of last month, but alas, my local council had some project going on, and managed to mess up, causing me to lose power that day. It returned the next, but was wonky, along with the internet, up until today, not just in my house, but in all my neighbours' too. I tried uploading this both on fanfiction and AO3 during this period, but it continued failing, so I said screw it, and chose to wait, while working on my fics.(You guys can feel free to bust out the delay meme. I dared to challenge Murphy again, without realizing it, and as is always the case with me, I got smoked.)
This fic is included in that, as I took the opportunity to not only get some work done on the chapter following this, but also edit this one, and add to it, from what it was, as it was originally around 15-16K, and is now sitting over 22K. Hope this is enough for a return chapter, for you guys.
Next chapter will come out as fast as I can make it(beyond what's already done), with my renewed vigour for this wacky little tale. And yes, for those that have kept up with my author's notes, I did alter one thing, in that the entire fight between Beerus and the Titans is not in this chapter, though, with how this chapter just ended, I think you can see why I chose to cut it off there, lol. I will say nothing else on how it shall go, so you'll just have to wait for the chaos of what I now have planned in my evil brain, XD.
Eagle-eyed viewers who keep up with their mythology will also be aware of a major change to things, which has just been caused unintentionally, and yes, that will have its own ramifications. Also, Nyx has officially debuted! I'd like to think I did her well, but I have no idea, so you guys let me know what you think of her first appearance, and if she made a good impression or not.
In any case, I hope you all got some enjoyment out of this chapter, as always, and I'll see you guys again in the next one!
