My Sensei is an Assassin
Chapter 12
Investigation Time
...
NARRATOR'S POV
A skinny, almost wiry man emerged from the back of a yellow taxi, the door swinging shut behind him as he stepped onto the pavement in front of the imposing Police Department building. The afternoon sun cast sharp shadows, accentuating his gaunt frame as he took a deep breath, steeling himself for the task ahead.
He entered the bustling building, the scent of coffee and fresh paper mingling in the air. Approaching the reception desk, he caught the eye of a nearby officer, his voice steady as he enquired, "Excuse me, could you point me in the direction of Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi?"
The officer, a burly man with a welcoming smile, nodded and replied, "Certainly! He's in his office just over there on the left side. You won't miss it; his cabin is clearly marked."
"Thank you," the man said, a hint of relief in his voice. He turned and made his way down the corridor, the sounds of ringing phones and distant conversations echoing around him.
When he reached the detective's door, he paused momentarily, composing himself before knocking gently. A voice from within called out, "Come in."
The door creaked open, revealing a modest office scattered with files and a faint smell of ink. There, seated at a cluttered desk, was Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi. His short, black hair framed a face marked by determination, while his rectangular black eyes were focused intently on the screen of his laptop. As he sensed the newcomer, he blinked and looked up with a warm smile.
"Toshinori! You arrived earlier than I anticipated. Please, take a seat," he greeted, his voice infused with enthusiasm. "I'll just gather the files on the case you wanted me to look into."
With that, Tsukauchi rose from his chair and moved to a set of lockers against the wall. His demeanour was professional yet amiable as he began pulling out various manila folders, the rustle of paper breaking the subdued silence of the room.
...
ALL MIGHT'S POV
Naomasa is a good friend of mine and one of the few people who knows about my condition and true identity as Toshinori Yagi, though he only found that out as a complete accident. I should stop letting people know about me, accidentally. However, he promised to keep the secret, and since then we have remained good friends, with Naomasa being one of the few individuals that I fully trust and can confide in.
Professionally, Naomasa is a vital ally, supplying me with information about investigations on matters related to the villains. Naomasa is also the one taking care of the paperwork for my unauthorised random heroic acts to make sure I am kept on the up and up.
I think Naomasa is the best cop there is.
"How is work going on, Tsukauchi?" I asked him to start a light conversation.
"Not good, Toshinori. *SIGH* I am still working on the case of the killing of 5 heroes from 4 months ago." He replied while holding the files and putting them on the table.
"Oh! Right, that case. What's the progress on that case?" I asked him curiously.
"Progress? I am still there where I was before. Each killing happened at the same time with proper planning and different methods."
"Wasn't a businessman also going missing that same day?"
"I will tell you about that later on. First your case." He said, giving me the file.
"Okay, what did you find out?"
"The school was established just a year ago by a group of friends who each played a crucial role in turning their vision into reality. Some provided essential financial backing; others expertly navigated the complex legalities, while others applied their construction skills to the project. As I explored the school's origins further, a strong sense of intrigue surged within me." He declared, a confident smile forming at the corners of his lips.
"What exactly caught you off guard, Tsukauchi? It's understandable that a collaborative effort would be surprising, but I would have expected someone to lead the charge alone," I replied, curious.
"It's not the collective effort that amazes me," he clarified. "What really surprises me are the people teaching at the school. Just take a look at their profiles."
I turned my attention to the files laid out before me, scanning the details of each teacher's background.

"You're right, Tsukauchi. I am surprised too. I have heard their names once or more times. Two of them are famous researchers, two are businessmen, one is a famous architect, one is a diplomat, one is a coach, and one is a famous bureaucrat. But I didn't hear about this gymnastics teacher or this Nagisa Shiota, and how did they get time for university to get a degree?"
"Well, they didn't have time to attend." I was confused by his statement, "They attended online lectures for a year and directly took the final year test and got their degrees."
He continued, "Regarding that teacher, I also didn't hear much about him, so I investigated them and found out that the gymnastics teacher is the wife of a famous advertiser, and this teacher, Nagisa Shiota, is famously known in the teaching community as the 'Miracle Teacher'."
"I heard of Maehara Advertising Company; several heroes and brands approach this agency for advertisements. But who is this 'Miracle Teacher'?" I asked, curious about the teacher.
"Well, he is known for teaching and improving the lives of delinquent kids that everyone thought were beyond help. Every student he has ever taught was considered a lost cause. I personally reviewed the records of those kids, and I was sceptical at first. However, within just a year, they were completely transformed and excelling academically. It's truly remarkable how he connects with these students and inspires them to reach their full potential."
I smiled and said, "Yeah, it is truly remarkable. I can't believe the transformation in those students. It's no wonder he earned that nickname for his work."
"Do you recall the incident involving the students of Paradise High's class 3-5?" he enquired, his tone laced with curiosity.
"Of course, I remember that incident," I replied, a hint of frustration creeping into my voice, "even though I'm not part of the teaching community."
The situation had stirred quite a storm back in the day. The dedicated homeroom teacher of that class, the only educator responsible for guiding those students, found himself in the eye of a scandal. Accusations flew from the teachers' lounge, claiming he resorted to unethical methods to help a group of students who had long been categorised as delinquents—the underachievers of the school's hierarchy. The public, quick to judge and unaware of the true dynamics at play, began to voice their outrage, placing the blame squarely on the teacher's shoulders.
However, in a remarkable turn of events, the very students who had been doubted rallied together in defence of their mentor. What unfolded was a touching display of loyalty as they demanded a chance to demonstrate their true capabilities. They proposed to take a retest, a bold move meant to validate both their hard work and the integrity of their teacher.
When the day of the retest arrived, the atmosphere was electrifying with anticipation. The students took their seats, determination etched on their faces. As the results came in, the outcome was nothing short of inspiring—each student exceeded expectations, scoring higher than before. This triumphant moment not only vindicated their teacher but also highlighted the strength of their dedication and perseverance. It was a heartwarming revelation, a testament to the bond between the students and their teacher, showcasing the profound impact that trust and loyalty can have in the face of adversity.
Tsukauchi then said, "He only teaches for a single year or 2, if the situation demands it at any school, and then leaves for another delinquent to teach; that's why no one knows about him very well. Every school wants him to teach at their school at any salary he demands."
I was genuinely pleased that Young Midoriya had such dedicated teachers. "But did you notice anything suspicious about them?" I asked in a slightly serious tone.
"Actually, there was nothing suspicious at all. The funding for school maintenance and supplies comes from their other jobs and from friends who don't teach. Some of them even volunteer their time to help improve the school facilities. It's quite admirable, really."
"That's good to hear," I replied, feeling a wave of reassurance wash over me regarding the teachers' intentions.
But suddenly, his expression shifted dramatically, his brows knitting together in a frown. "However, during my investigation into their backgrounds, I discovered they graduated from... Kunugigaoka Junior High School 16 years ago—the very same year that notorious villain met his end."
"WHAT? ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE?" I exclaimed, my heart racing as disbelief flooded my senses.
"I can assure you, Toshinori. Although my access to further information is restricted due to active government protocols."
"So you suspect they might be linked to that incident in some way?" I asked, a creeping sense of dread making its way through me.
"It's a possibility we cannot dismiss," he replied, his voice heavy with concern. "But Toshinori, what precisely happened on that fateful day? I was merely a police academy trainee back then, and I didn't catch much of the news surrounding the event."
"Right, you probably wouldn't have. Everything related to that incident was classified, locked down tighter than a vault. Only individuals with UN permission or those involved—agents or heroes—could share any details. However, even the heroes are often left in the dark; they only know minimal information about their target—their descriptions and abilities. But I can offer you what I know because I was a part of the heroes too."
"Are you absolutely certain about this? It's a UN secret."
"Don't fret," I replied, "I'll share only what I've been authorised to reveal, but it's crucial that I speak with someone I can trust. So, are you interested in hearing this, or not?"
Tsukauchi paused, a flicker of curiosity crossing his face as he contemplated the weight of the moment. The enigmatic tone of the conversation drew him in, and after a brief deliberation, he finally nodded, his intrigue surpassing his initial reservations. "Yes, I want to hear what you have to say," he responded, his resolve firm, as he rose to close the doors behind him, sealing them off from the outside world to ensure their conversation remained private.
I began the story, "It all began a year prior to that event, when 70% of the moon inexplicably obliterated, plunging the world into confusion and fear; its cause remained a mystery to the general populace. Yet, unbeknownst to many, the United Nations had been informed—by none other than the villain himself. He had struck a diabolical bargain with them, agreeing to delay his next target: Earth. He proclaimed that he would unleash his wrath upon our planet come next March, granting the world's heroes a fleeting window of time to devise a strategy to thwart him.
This particular villain was unlike any other; he possessed a superintellect that could rival the renowned Nezu, remarkable regenerative abilities, blinding speed, and an invulnerability to conventional weapons. His peculiar mutation granted him a grotesque appearance reminiscent of an octopus, coupled with super digestion and the power of flight. To combat such a formidable foe, an extraordinary weapon was crafted from a unique compound, capable of penetrating his defences.
Chosen for this perilous mission were Gran Torino, an array of elite speedster heroes, and myself. We were thrust into this challenge due to our speed, yet upon our encounter, it became painfully clear that he was merely toying with us." Just as I gathered the resolve to continue recounting our desperate struggle, Tsukauchi abruptly halted my thoughts.
"Wait a minute, Toshinori, you and Gran Torino were outmatched in speed? What was his speed? But most importantly, multiple quirks: Was he related to that man? You know who I am talking about." He asked disbelievingly.
"No, during our last battle, 'he' said that he was fascinated but was not related to that experiment that made that villain. And the speed? It was Mach 20," I plainly said.
"MACH 20?"
"Yeah, Mach 20. Now let me complete my story."
"Sorry, sorry," he apologised.
"In our darkest hour, we believed we were humanity's last hope. Yet, it soon became evident that we were merely buying time for a last resort—an audacious weapon that took a year of relentless collaboration to come to fruition. This weapon, known as the 'Spear of Heaven,' was the culmination of the combined efforts of every powerful nation and the sharpest minds from the I-Island. A singular force had united the world in this moment of desperation: him.
The stakes were staggering; a bounty of 10 billion yen was placed upon his head, quickly escalating to a jaw-dropping 30 billion. Despite our heroes' deep-seated reluctance, we had no choice but to cooperate with the assassins, those who hunt for profit in chaos.
Finally, in the tense days of March the following year, the Spear of Heaven was launched from its celestial perch. It descended with the fury of a dying star, a testament to human ingenuity and desperation. Miraculously, he managed to shield himself from its lethal intent, but our adversaries were ready for this defiance. With synchronised precision, they unleashed the next phase of their strategy: the 'Shield of Earth', designed to imprison him until the Spear could recharge for another strike.
A week later, in a whirlwind of events and heart-stopping tension, he was eliminated—an end to a chapter that had drawn the fate of the world into a perilous dance of power and desperation." I exhaled deeply, feeling the weight of the story settle heavily in the air around me as I concluded this grim recounting.
"I can hardly fathom that someone had engaged with every formidable hero and nation across the globe," Tsukauchi remarked, his brow furrowed in intrigue. "But I'm struggling to grasp the significance of those kids in all of this."
I took a moment to collect my thoughts before responding. "Their involvement was intrinsic to that arrangement. He agreed to mentor that class until March, framing it as a form of entertainment rather than anything malicious. He didn't resort to mind manipulation or turn them into villains—I'm confident in that, especially since an agent was assigned to the class to monitor the 'villain' closely. Unfortunately, due to a year of education under a villain's guidance, public perception of the children hasn't been very kind."
I inhaled deeply, the weight of the situation pressing down on me. "As a result, at the request of both the agent and the military general of that time, a protocol was instated to seal their personal and school information—not just for those kids, but for everyone who graduated during that timeframe. This way, they could aspire to lead lives free from scrutiny."
Tsukauchi's curiosity piqued further. "And no one voiced any objections, especially not the children who got mixed up on this?"
"Surprisingly, no," I confirmed. "Those kids banded together to shield their peers from reporters who were relentless in their pursuit of news. Moreover, a legal contract was established, ensuring that any unauthorised disclosure of their identities by anyone would result in severe repercussions."
Tsukauchi then pressed on with a question. "But you must know their identities, don't you?"
Shaking my head, I simply replied, "No, I don't. Heroes were expressly forbidden from engaging with him when he was teaching to avoid sparking rumours or speculation. Information regarding the students was strictly off-limits to heroes because it fell outside our jurisdiction—it was the agent's domain to manage. There was even a special clause in the bounty concerning their safety: no assassin was allowed to harm those kids, or the bounty itself would be revoked."
Tsukauchi sighed in relief. and said, "Now that I have heard your side of the story, I don't think there is any problem with these teachers." He happily said that.
He then took the files and placed them on the lockers. I was happy that Young Midoriya is not any kind of problem. But I still have to talk about the case of those heroes who died, so I asked him, and he replied that,
"Those 5 heroes ranked in the top 50, each in locations far away from each other but killed at the same time and by different methods.
The first victim was killed with poison; witnesses say that he slept the whole night in the pub and was found dead in the morning.
Second victim: don't know if he was killed or died naturally; witnesses say that he collapsed and choked on blood.
The third victim was killed with some more people by snipers.
The fourth victim was found dead in an unused room of a club.
The fifth victim was killed in his house.
Tsukauchi leaned in, his expression serious as he laid out the stark realities before me. "There are only two possibilities," he began, pausing for a moment to let the weight of his words sink in. "It could be mere coincidence, though that seems highly improbable. The other option is that there's a group aligned with Stain's ideology at play here. However, no such group has stepped forward to take credit for these events." He shifted slightly, his brow furrowing as he continued. "As for the businessman who has vanished, his security guards claim they have no idea where he might be. They reported that he received a startling phone call that visibly shook him. Following that, he ordered his guards to transport him to a secure location, accompanied only by his personal bodyguards."
I couldn't help but probe further, my curiosity piqued. "A phone call, you say? Can't we trace it back?"
Tsukauchi nodded. "We can, and we've already done so. It turns out the call originated from Black Sun, one of the victims in this case. During our further enquiries, we discovered that the businessman had referenced a project Black Sun had completed for him about a month ago." With a measured movement, he presented me with a file, its edges worn from handling. "As it stands, the Ministry of Defence has taken over this case, following the discovery of a connection between his disappearance and the recent terrorist hijacking attempt at the mall."
(A/N: Read Chapter 5 if you don't know the mall hijack incident.)
He added, "However, there is one thing that's been bothering me for quite some time. The killing, the methods – no one was able to find that they were dead until it was too late. All of this vaguely reminds me of an old case which shook the whole police department." I nodded, waiting for him to spill the beans, and then he said, "Toshinori, it's just a hunch, but maybe, just maybe, the group called KORO is involved in it."
I was surprised at the sudden revelation of this name. In response, I said, "But Tsukauchi, you know that that's just an urban legend. No such group has ever claimed their existence since the name first surfaced in the criminal world. Also, the only proof of this group's existence is the talk in the criminal underworld."
"But these killings are just like that Flood of Blood incident of 6 years ago. Since then, many killings occurred, and the name KORO came into existence."
(A/N: Read End Notes for this.)
"So, what are you going to do?" I asked him.
"I am thinking of letting the ministry handle all of this. Because if such a group exists and is involved, then it's already way out of my league. I heard they found concrete evidence of the link between these heroes, that businessman, and the hijack attempt. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has also been informed, so they will be coordinating with the ministry on this case." I felt a sense of relief knowing that the authorities were taking charge of the situation but couldn't shake off the unease of how deep this conspiracy might go.

NARRATOR'S POV
While the two were deep in conversation, they remained oblivious to the fact that a mysterious figure was intently listening from far afar.
'So, he's the one investigating the school, the figure thought, a determined glint in their eye. 'I never expected All Might would take an interest in our school.' The figure monitored the conversation closely through a mobile device, fully aware of the implications.
'It's fortunate we successfully planted those surveillance bots on the officers involved in this case. But I need to know why All Might is focused on our school. I can't waste any time—I must inform Nagisa immediately.' With a firm resolve, they ended the feed and dialled Nagisa's number.
Nagisa: Hello?
?: Hello, Nagisa.
Nagisa: Hello, Kimura-kun. How are you?
Kimura: I am fine. I actually called you because I have something important to tell you.
Nagisa: What is it? Is it related to 'that'?
Kimura: Nothing important related to 'that.' Surveillance showed that Toshinori Yagi requested a private investigation on the school and you all. Though I don't know the reason why.
Nagisa: What did he find out?
Kimura: Nothing important, just about your professions, public info, and some of your feats. But he got close to our past, but thanks to the protocol and safety measures, he couldn't find anything.
Nagisa: It's good. But now, we have to be more careful because we don't know why Yagi-san is investigating us.

Chapter 12 End
A/N: Thanks for Reading
This is all that it is. The reason why no one knows about the existence of Assassination Classroom is explained. There are so many loopholes, I know, but I don't know how to cover all of that. The more loopholes I try to cover, the more complicated this chapter will become.
I tried to make it as believable and less complicated as possible.
The Flood of Flood is an important incident which marked the creation of team KORO.
Next chapter: Festival time, a fun time with school friends, no assassination no school just chill with friends. A wholesome chapter. I trying to make it as much wholesome as I can.
Release date: No idea, but expect it in a week. Right now, I am busy to write another chapter of my other story.
