1. Chapter 1: The Masked One!

Chapter 1

The Hidden Leaf village is known to have homed many great shinobi, like 'The Hokage' (Fire Shadow). The '3rd Hokage's' students 'Densetsu no Sannin' (The 3 legendary sannin), or 'Konoha no Shiroi Kiba' (The white fang), and his son 'Kopi Ninja' (The Copy Ninja), and also the village's greatest hero the 'Yondaime Hokage' (Forth Fire Shadow), also known as 'Konoha no Kiiroi Senko' (Yellow Flash of the Leaf) who saved the village from the rampage of 'Kyubi' (The nine-tailed fox) and also ended the 'Daisanji Ninkai Taisen' (Third Shinobi World War) singlehandedly. All these shinobi are recognized as one of the best if not the best of their generation throughout the world and feared by nearly all enemy ninjas.

Hearing this one may think that there couldn't be more powerful ninjas than them, but that's because they haven't learned about the existence of a certain boy who has bright-blond spiky hair and blue eyes, and his trademark characteristics are the three whisker markings on his cheeks. He wears orange and blue clothes with a shuriken holster on his right knee and blue sandals.

At first glance Naruto is a loudmouth prankster hated by the entire village, as well as the talentless loser of his generation and class, always placing last in nearly all ninja practices and academics. Nearly everyone believes that the kid has no chance of living in the ninja world, but regardless of his situation in the village he always has a goofy grin on his face and he always declares that he is going to be the Hokage and make everyone respect him. This naivety towards the shinobi world and lack of effort in these studies as well as the narrow-minded view of the Hokage position makes him unfit to be anything great in his life.

However, the truth couldn't be more hidden, ninjas have many abilities and skills at their disposal but the most effective is the skill of deception, something Naruto is unmatched at. The loser of the village is actually only fooling everyone, even his grandfather figure the 3rd Hokage has no clue of Naruto's true abilities. One may ask why Naruto is hiding his abilities, well there are many reasons for that, one because if the village council found out about his abilities, they would not be happy, but Naruto wasn't really worried about that, the main reasons were something else.

-Somewhere on the outskirts of the village in a forest-

"Congratulations naruto, from now on you are a ninja of the hidden leaf village." Iruka Umino said to his favorite student Naruto, who had just been granted the position of a 'Genin' after successfully subduing the traitor Mizuki and performing the 'Kage bunshin no jutsu' (shadow clone technique), as well as its advanced version- the 'Taju Kage Bunshin no Jutsu' (muti-shadow clone jutsu).

As the sunset illuminated the forest and the sunlight fell on Naruto's face the boy smiled as he touched the Konoha forehead protector on his forehead. With a smile, naruto started thanking and hugging Iruka while the 3rd Hokage hiruzen sarutobi watched them with a smile through his crystal ball.

"Looks like things worked out in the end. Well, I'll have to make some adjustments now." He sighed as Naruto and Iruka began returning to the village, however.

"Wait! Where's Mizuki!?" Iruka shouted getting both Naruto's and hiruzen's attention. They both looked to see that Mizuki who should have been too injured to move had disappeared, Iruka's ninja skills let him instantly see the trail Mizuki created in his injured state as he fled further from the village.

"D-Dammit!" Iruka cursed under his breath as Naruto looked confused but then 4 figures appeared, it was an ANBU squad.

"Don't worry, we'll get the traitor back," the one who seemed to be the captain said and disappeared with one of his team members while two stayed behind to help Naruto and Iruka back.

One of the ANBU was giving Iruka basic first aid, noticing his worries the ANBU spoke, "Don't worry, Mizuki is a chunin-level ninja, and injured, captain and 'rat' will catch him in less than 10 minutes at most." The ANBU said, with a sigh, Iruka nodded and took some calming breaths as he watched the other ANBU talk to Naruto about the details of the incident as well as secure the 'forbidden scroll of sealings'.

Eventually, they left believing the other 2 ANBU would get Mizuki back… they were wrong.

Nearly 2 hours later.

"What the hell…" the ANBU Rat muttered as he and the captain finally stopped the search.

They had followed Mizuki's trail but when they got to a river the trail disappeared, Because the river was small with a weak waterflood the captain and rat both went on opposite sides to find Mizuki but after an hour they came empty-handed and reunited from where they left.

"How can this be? The traitor disappeared completely… he couldn't have done it by himself, did he have an ally? We have to report to Hokage-Sama now." the captain commanded and Rat nodded as they disappeared.

In less than 30 minutes every ninja in the area of Mizuki's disappearance will be alerted to look for any clues while doing their original mission–- village walls and perimeter patrol, while 2 ANBU squads and 3 joins were sent to find and capture the traitor chunin for information. However, they would never find him, at least not alive.

Somewhere in the village hospital, standing next to a sleeping Iruka, naruto, or rather his clone, smiled internally not letting his success show on his face, and used a half-ram seal to send information about things on his end to the real Naruto through chakra.

-Somewhere on the outskirts of the village, at an unknown underground location-

The real Naruto was sitting on a wooden chair in front of an unconscious Mizuki tied to an iron chair with straps around his wrists and ankles as well as waist and neck. The man didn't have a shirt on, showing a seal tag on his abdomen which was a chakra suppression seal.

The real Naruto, right now looked much different than the Naruto the village saw daily, it wasn't his physical features that were different, no, he still had spiky blond hair and blue eyes with his whisker marks. What was different was the change in his eyes and demeanor as a whole, right now the boy looked much different, the look in his eyes was much different, serious, mature, he looked like a shinobi who had seen wars, bloodshed, and the dark side of the shinobi world, yet managed to keep himself sane and strong mentally and emotionally. However, right now he was thinking deeply while waiting for Mizuki to wake up.

"After all the years it looks like I'm finally having a good day," he started thinking, "I knew Mizuki was a traitor so I failed on purpose, at first the plan was to lure him out and capture him, but not only he did he give me an excuse to steal the 'forbidden scroll of sealing' which gave me an excuse to use shadow clones freely in front of others but he also blabbered about my jinchuriki status, now I don't have to hide the fact that I knew about it beforehand," he paused in his thoughts and remembered the day he learned about why he was hated by the village as a 5-year-old, though his situation was much worst back then, and far more bloody.

Without a single change in his expression, he shook away the painful memory, and thought about his situation, "Now the Hokage believes I know learned about my jinchuriki status from Mizuki, so that's a problem out. I can also use the 'shadow clone jutsu' without hiding the fact that I knew it for a long time, though mine is an advanced version I re-created years ago which lets me transfer memories without dismissing the jutsu and talk telepathically to each clone, anyways not that anyone would think I managed to not only re-create a just of the 2nd Hokage by myself as a child younger than 10 years old without any guidance, but also make an advance version of it." Naruto sighed, he had been doing many things behind the village official's back since he was a child, and summarizing it in a few seconds would be impossible, but this one achievement was to be respected.

When Naruto was 5 years old, he started learning about ninja arts by picking worn-out books that the academy students threw into the garbage after they had passed the year. Naruto used this to his advantage and started studying all the ninja arts he could from a young age. When he got to a specific point in his training he tried to use the 'Bunshin no Jutsu' (clone technique) which he failed miserably, it would be sometime later that he figured out that it was because of his immense chakra reserves, but because he had learned about advanced hand signs in one for the advanced theory books he read in the 'shinobi library' by sneaking in since that level of the 'shinobi library' is only accessible after becoming a chunin, naruto had learned about the advanced hand seals, like the 28 gestures for one-handed hand seals and advanced 9 two-handed hand seals on top of the 12 basic hand seals.

After learning how a hand seal molded and affected chakra and what element each hand seal supported, naruto discovered a talent for making jutsu and managed to make a new clone jutsu–– the 'Advanced Kage bunshin no jutsu' (Advanced shadow clone technique), a clone made from a concentrated mass of chakra, sounds same like the 2nd Hokage but the difference was the more abilities, like the telepathic taking ability and sharing memories without dismissing the clone, the best part, as long at the clone is in his sensory range naruto can give the clones more chakra while being far away so they can sustain themselves and the clones can do the same, in fact, the ability to talk telepathically is creating a chakra link and share of memories without dismissing the clone is actually sending some chakra back to naruto, though the amount of chakra doesn't correspond with the number of memories, a small fraction of chakra can send back all the memories. This Jutsu also accelerated his training speed in all aspects except 'muscle conditioning' since training like 'chakra control' and 'taijutsu style' came under muscle memory and chakra control memory transfer. This Jutsu also had the same weakness, being dispelled after receiving one good hit. However, what made the jutsu completely different from the 2nd Hokage's version is the way the chakra is split while creating it.

The 2nd Hokage's version splits chakra evenly, for example, if the user creates 1 clone, half of the user's chakra will be formed into a clone. If the user creates 2 clones, the chakra will be divided into 3 parts evenly, one-third being with the user themselves, this is the reason the technique is forbidden since if the chakra is split evenly and the user doesn't have enough chakra overall, the user can die of chakra exhaustion. However, naruto's version was based on the fact that he wanted to overcome the regular 'Bunshin no Jutsu' (clone technique) which is an illusion. This is why Naruto's version of 'shadow clones' is made in a way that instead of dividing the chakra he just creates a clone with a lot of chakra.

For example, let's say, hypothetically, naruto has as much chakra as 2 hiruzen sarutobi. If he creates the 2nd Hokage's version of 'shadow clone' there will be 2 Naruto's, the real one and the clone, and both will have as much chakra as 1 hiruzen sarutobi.

But if Naruto uses his version of the 'shadow clone' jutsu, there is a set amount of chakra for activating the jutsu. In this case, the amount needed to create a solid clone will require as much chakra as an A-rank jutsu, naruto can decide for himself how much more chakra he wants the clone to have, he can adjust it to his liking and give the clone excessive chakra to maintain it's form for long periods of time while also having enough chakra to use ninja techniques. At that point, the clone is like a toy running on battery, and Naruto decides how much chakra the clone will have, be it as much as a genin, chunin, or even a jonin—in Naruto's case giving a few clones as much as a Kage is also possible.

When Naruto was first trying to make a version of clone jutsu for him to use he considered learning or recreating element clone jutsu first but his chakra control wasn't good enough at the time so he started thinking, he was looking at his shadow while thinking and got the idea of making a clone from a mass of chakra by remembering the concept of 'yin' and 'yang'. In chakra, because the idea came while looking at this shadow, he named the jutsu 'Kage Bunshin no Jutsu' (Shadow clone technique). He didn't know the 2nd Hokage had already created a jutsu with the same name so when he did discover the Jutsu's existence he realized he needed to rename his own version, but since the abilities were so similar and his was arguably a better version, he renamed his own version as the 'Advanced Kage Bunshin no Jutsu' (advanced shadow clone technique).

Of course, a jutsu of such magnitude wasn't created by a kid about 5 years old while the 2nd Hokage created an inferior one, naruto had time to make the modifications while the 2nd Hokage had wars and responsibilities of all sorts to attend to, modifying a jutsu that was already limited to a few people because of the chakra required was a waste of time for him considering his entire life he was stuck in a classic group confrontation wars, unlike naruto who was trying to spy around the village. To add to that It took Naruto nearly 2 years to modify the jutsu to the current level while learning all sorts of new things, and Naruto's version requires 7 hand seals to learn initially, 3 two-handed advanced hand seals, and 4 basic hand seals, while the 2nd Hokage version only needed 1 advanced hand seal.

Naruto was not in the mood to look back into his past he'll think about his past and achievements some other time. Coming back to the present moment he looked at Mizuki, who had unintendedly helped him, the man was waking up. Naruto narrowed his eyes, Mizuki would have to accept that he wasn't the only one acting in the village, in a very painful way, he's not the first traitor or spy Naruto caught over the years, and he'll definitely not be the first person who died at naruto's hand in a painful way.

"Ugh!" Mizuki woke up as he felt his limbs and waist tied down with his shirt off, he looked up to see Naruto in front of him, "huh? What the hell! What are you going you damn demon brat! What is this place!" Mizuki shouted, but instead of an answer, he received a punch to his face, strong enough to make his nose bleed.

"I've no interest in giving you any answers," Naruto said as Mizuki looked at the boy, his face scrunched in confusion and pain, he noticed the difference, naruto was wearing all black, black pants, a black shirt, and black gloves, his aura was different, like a high-ranking shinobi of the village. "What the hell?! What happened to this demon brat!?" he thought.

"I don't want to waste time explaining things to someone who's about to be dead soon, so I'll make it quick," Naruto thought and got up from his chair put it aside with his left hand, and stepped to his right and pulled a medical cart closer, it had some torture and medical equipments on it. Seeing this Mizuki got confused as Naruto picked up a heavy iron-rigged wrench.

"What the hell do you think you are doing demon— AHHH!" he was cut off by his own scream as Naruto smashed the wrench into Mizuki's left knee breaking it.

Mizuki clenched his jaw in pain as he suppressed his scream, "UGH! YOU DAMN DEMON! –– AH!" he was cut off by a hard slap of Naruto's right hand. Before Mizuki could say anything naruto grabbed Mizuki's long blue hair roughly, pulled his head up, got his face close to Mizuki's, and said in a low voice, "I'll say this once, I'm the one who will ask questions and you're the one who will give the answers," naruto let go his hair and slow walked around Mizuki's chair as he spoke, "to clear any confusions, let's just say you aren't the only one who was acting, I mean, like you played the role of the innocent little chunin instructor, I have been playing the weak and stupid jinchuriki for a few years, and I knew you would try something against the village and frame someone else, so I became the perfect scapegoat for you, by failing the graduation test on purpose and getting you to the outskirts of the village, I also made sure to beat you just enough for you to get far enough for my clones to pick you up and make a fake trail to the river close by for the ANBU to follow, so don't think the village will find you, you're stuck with me for as long I need you to be." Naruto said as he completed a full circle around him and stood in front of the former chunin.

Mizuki had a look mix of shock, fear, and confusion. He was about to say something but Naruto beat him to it, "I don't really care if you believe me or not, I just want to know who were you trying to join. As stupid as your plan seems I know even you're not stupid enough to think you didn't believe you could escape the leaf ninja forces with the 'scroll of sealings' long enough to learn anything from it," Naruto's tone turned dark and he looked down at Mizuki with a cold expression, "who was helping you, tell me everything you know." He commanded.

Mizuki spit on the ground, "as if I'll give in to your threats demon!" he said.

Naruto stayed quiet, then closed his eyes exhaled some air from his nostrils, and cracked his knuckles, "Don't worry, once I'm done with you, even your ancestors will tell me what and who they saw you with from the afterlife," naruto threatened and began the show.

-A few hours later-

Naruto was sitting on his chair again, in front of him was a broken Mizuki.

The man's left eyes were violently ripped out and the empty socked was bleeding but it had a piece of Mizuki's shirt as a rag shoved into it, the same wrench Naruto used to break his knee also ripped out some of his teeth. The nails of his toes and fingers were also missing, his fingers were bent at weird angles. Mizuki's arms and legs were bleeding while his skin was on the ground, naruto had used a peeler to skin his limbs, chest, and stomach. His wounds had leeches on them. His right ear was sliced off. There were multiple black and blue bruises of all sizes on him, and his right eye was swollen just enough for him to see Naruto. He had some IVs connected to him now to keep him awake through the pain.

Naruto looked at the half-awake man, after some time Mizuki puked all the information he had out. Apparently, the man was working for Orochimaru, one of the '3 legendry sannin' and a former student of the 3rd Hokage now turned a traitor, Mizuki was promised strength and a jonin status in the rouge Sannin's secretly created new ninja village–– 'Otogakure no sato' (Village Hidden in the Sound) in the 'Ta no Kuni' (land of rice fields).

Naruto had been working behind the scenes for a long time, both outside of the village and inside, he already knew that some sort of ninja activities was happening in the 'land of rice' but now he knew it was a rouge ninja of the leaf––

"Make sense, the traitor was practically silent for a few years after his defection from the village, but to think he managed to create an entire ninja village-– even if a small one. I'll have to see what I can do about this alone for now. If the village's spy system doesn't find out about this in a few months I'll have to drop clues personally," Naruto thought and looked at Mizuki and asked about another detail.

"You said a man offered you to join Orochimaru but you didn't get to see his face, right? How tall was he, give me everything you have on his information. Now." Naruto said with a threatening tone.

Mizuki now knew not to go against what Naruto wanted and spoke up, "T-The person was a male, b-but he always had a cloak and an ANBU-like mask on, he was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and onyx eyes, t-that's all– that's all I know- now please let me go!" he begged at the end while huffing and panting for air.

Naruto got up from his chair and walked behind Mizuki ignoring his request and started thinking, "Male and 5 feet 8 inches and onyx eyes huh? It's not nearly enough to go by but I already have a certain suspicious ninja in the hospital,"

Kabuto Yakushi

Age- 19-20

A medical ninja who is always stationed in the shinobi hospital, his life is mundane, not much is special in him, has good relationships with his teammates, and has been in the village for years. The only problem he seems is that he's failed the chunin exams 7 times now. He looks like a normal shinobi, with a simple personal life, which makes him a perfect suspect as a spy but the fact that he failed the chunin exams 7 times would put him into the spotlight, the village would think if he was a spy he wouldn't have failed the exam so many times since that would be putting himself into the spotlight on purpose.

Since the village as a whole is monitoring as many people as possible spies, they wouldn't waste time on one person who most likely isn't a spy.

However, Naruto was different, unlike the village naruto had a special ability. The one thing that made Naruto far more different than what he could have been and one of the main factors behind his loyalty to the village. His sensory ability.

While many people are born with sensory abilities naruto's is a bit too unique. A sensor person can sense others' chakra signatures, and differentiate people, as well as tell how much chakra a person has, but Naruto is a bit different.

Naruto has the basic abilities but he was a lot more accurate without even training, and the most unique was that he can feel what emotions others are feeling, be it positive emotions like happiness or negative ones like sadness. However, after he started training secretly in his childhood and after mastering his abilities, he discovered that not only could he tell a target's chakra levels with pinpoint accuracy but he could also sense the strength of their chakra's nature affinity, unlike other sensors, his ability is a passive one so even he can't stop it.

This allowed Naruto to not only understand others but also directly feel the emotions they felt when they saw him, it was confusing but even as an infant he could tell that others hated him, he could feel many knots of pain in his chest when others thought about him, in a sense this made him hate himself but not at the same time.

Naruto could feel a person's emotion as if he were that person, this made it hard for him to hate them back for hating him, and because he could feel the emotional pain others felt because of him the child felt guilty. Generosity became an instinct for him, and over the years after many painful events he learned to love the village as a family.

It took some time for him to learn to not feel a person's emotions as if they were his own but to just feel what they were feeling, this skill was honed to the point Naruto became a human lie detector.

Coming back to the situation at hand, one of the reasons Naruto already suspected Kabuto for a spy was because the boy never felt any sadness for his failures, as well as the fact that Kabuto was a genin but had Jonin level chakra levels, and the smoothness in the flow of his chakra suggested more control than what he showed as a medical ninja in the hospital. The 2 biggest factors were that––

First- Naruto's abilities made it easy for him to tell that Kabuto had a strong affinity for snakes, now The scent of snakes was understandable but if his chakra had an affinity for snakes then that suggested a summoning contract with them, and as far as he knew the only person that could have helped him with that in the village was Anko Mitarashi-– a 'Tokubetsu jonin' (Special jonin) and naruto knew that Anko didn't have any connection with kabuto which left only one more option, Orochimaru.

Second- Naruto has many clones in the village under 'Henge no Jutsu' (Transformation Technique) something he did to have intel on any and everything in the village he could get, and some of them have seen Kabuto move in the shadows at places he shouldn't be at.

Naruto had an eye on all the people he considered either a danger or an asset to the village through his clones like the high-ranking ninjas and buildings like the Hokage tower, IT department, Shinobi hospital, ANBU headquarters, Ninja headquarters, barrier division department, clan estates, council members, shinobi jails, as well as the local market, village gates, walls, and the village as a whole, naruto kept an eye on everything in the village through his transformed clones.

Naruto walked in front of Mizuki who looked at him with hope, naruto was still ignoring him, "kabuto has been on my radar for 2 years now, when he approached Mizuki about the offer?" he wondered and looked down at Mizuki quickly adopting a cold expression.

"When did that man make you this offer? Answer now!" he said as he pulled Mizuki's hair painfully to make sure he remembered what would happen if he didn't answer.

Mizuki's lone eye showed fear and he answered quickly "I-it was 4 years ago! That's when I met him, he said I have 5 years to steal his forbidden scroll! That's all!" Mizuki stuttered in fear.

Naruto let go of his hair and stepped back, he knew that Mizuki was telling the truth thanks to his sensory skills.

"5 years huh? Considering the difficulty of the task that's a reasonable amount of time considering Mizuki was and is still a chunin back then, well this means at least my clones didn't make a mistake in following him, and that is if Kabuto actually is the man Mizuki is talking about. Well, in the end, Mizuki was working for Orochimaru, and if Kabuto is a spy, it's for Orochimaru so even if the sannin has one more spy in the village other than Kabuto I can find that person through Kabuto." Naruto sighed a little and then looked at Mizuki, the man had nothing more to offer Naruto now, naruto knew what he had to do.

Mizuki looked hopeful, "s-so c-can I go now?" he asked.

Naruto's eyes turned cold, "you're a traitor, I'll treat you like one." Naruto said and Mizuki's eye and expression turned into a fearful one, he knew what Naruto meant.

"W-WAIT! –" Before he could say anything more naruto grabbed a kunai in his right hand and with a horizontal motion slit his throat.

Mizuki's single eye lost its life in a few seconds but Naruto's expression stayed between neutral, cold, and uncaring. "A traitor does not deserve sympathy" he muttered and left the underground base.

A camouflaged trap door opened in the middle of the forest about 7 kilometers away from the village walls.

Naruto got out and closed the trapdoor, after making sure the door was hidden, he looked up to see the sun.

"It's about 02:00 P.M." he thought.

It was daybreak when Iruka made Naruto a genin and about one hour after that naruto had managed to make the trails for the ANBU to follow and tied Mizuki in the chair. Then a few hours to break him down and get the information.

Naruto looked back at the trapdoor before starting to walk away to the village, "the irony, is the secret bases Orochimaru abandoned after his defection in and around the village are now helping in going against him." He thought and jumped up to a tree.

While running he looked at the wrist of his right arm and made two one-handed hand seals and two different black colored numbers appeared on the inside of his wrist. Both numbers were one higher than before and Naruto without any expression stopped the chakra flow making the number disappear.

The numbers were a result of the seal he created, his first creation after he started learning 'fuinjutsu' (sealing jutsu). This seal actually had no battle purpose, rather Naruto made it to keep himself in check, the seals connected to his chakra and to an extension his subconscious mind. The first number, closer to his palm, had the purpose of increasing the number on his wrist that represented the number of people Naruto killed and truly considered evil. While the second number, which was below the first, represented the number of people Naruto killed overall.

Killing Mizuki increased both numbers by one, which means Naruto truly considered Mizuki an evil person. In other words, naruto had made the right decision in killing the man.

However, the same can't be said for every decision Naruto ever made–– since the number of people he killed overall was a few hundred higher than the number of people Naruto killed for the village… he stood with an expressionless face, he acknowledged that he made decisions–– no, mistakes he made in the past, they were sacrifices he made for the betterment of the village, even if those sacrifices he made were against his own moral code. Naruto wasn't as mentally or morally developed as he is now right now, the only thing he could do was move forward in life, do his best, and avoid making the same sacrifices.

Naruto stood at the branch with a half-ram seal and disappeared in a blue flash.

-Somewhere in the village-

Naruto who was in the forest at 02:07:38 P.M. appeared in a sewage line near the center of the village at 02:07:39 P.M. covering more than 20 kilometers in literally a second. A feat only achieved by 2 shinobi before him, and the jutsu needed for that was considered both too dangerous for a person to have and too complicated and difficult to learn for even the likes of the prodigy sannin Orochimaru and the hardworking sannin jariya or even the likes of genius Kakashi Hatake and the master of ninja arts 3rd Hokage hiruzen sarutobi. Literally, any and every shinobi in the world would gun at the chance of having that jutsu. There are only two people in recorded history who managed to make it, and both were considered one of the most dangerous in history.

If the news of Naruto having made his own version of it and being the 3rd in history to wield that jutsu were to get out not only his haters in the village will stop at nothing to kill him but the enemies of his village might even declare wars to kill him. The jutsu managed to kill many exceptional shinobis, the one who masters this jutsu automatically becomes the fastest shinobi of their time. A Jutsu that helped the 4th Hokage end the '3rd great ninja war' singlehandedly. A justice that helped the 2nd Hokage kill some of his strongest enemies. A jutsu worth waging wars over.

That is how overwhelmingly dangerous 'The Hiraishin no jutsu' (The Flying Thunder God Technique) is.

Naruto looked at the sewage line he was standing in. The sealing was about 6 feet high and about 5 feet wide, and a small stream of wastewater flowed between the small platforms. Naruto was standing between one of them, he looked at a small black bag hooked to the wall, the marker for his 'Hiraishin no jutsu' (Flying Thunder God Technique) was in the small bag on a piece of paper as big as a tag bomb. Naruto opened the bag while it was hanging on the hook, there were bright orange clothes in it, and he started changing into them while putting his black clothes into the bag.

The sewage line he was in was one he specifically chose for him to change into his 'loser Naruto' clothes. This line wasn't connected to any important buildings, neither was it an abandoned one from after the village recovered from the 'Nine-Tails' attack. The village expects any spy to use either the abandoned lines or the ones connected to official buildings, but this line was of wastewater for the neighborhood near the central areas of the village, the IT department monitors areas that an enemy of the village would, but naruto is more of a vigilant for the village so they would never expect someone to hang their clothes in a sewage line for a family neighborhood.

Naruto changed into his orange clothes when he sensed a chakra signature coming towards him at a speed only possible by 'Shunshin no Jutsu' (Body Flicker Technique). He turned around as another Naruto appeared in front of him, it was his main clone of sorts, unlike the 'Advanced shadow clones', which are spread throughout the village for information gathering and can be dispelled with a single hit, the clone in front of him was special, made of a special element.

Naruto looked at the clone, "I know you're my own clone but thank you for all your hard work till now, since I first created you have been working acting under the disguise of the 'loser Naruto' which allowed me to leave the village so many times for extended periods, it wouldn't be wrong to say that you have been by greatest aid for the entirety of the 5 years you have existed. You had to put up with the way the villages treat me, Thank you for everything." The real Naruto said to the clone who smiled.

"What kind of thanks is this boss? You call me your clone and one of your greatest helpers and speak as if I'm not your clone but a different person. The village treated me as if I was you because I am you, even if just a clone, no need to thank yourself." The clone said and the real smiled and inhaled some extra air.

"Hmm, it's time…" Naruto said and the clone got the point. The clone will share the memories of what happened after he went with Iruka to the hospital and then finally be dispelled after 5 long years.

The clone smiled, "Here," he put his hand forward with the 'Hitai-ate' (forehead protector) Iruka gave him for passing.

Real Naruto looked at the clone's hand with a smile and took the forehead protector, at that moment the clone also sent his memories through chakra and with a smile dispelled itself as Naruto received the memories, nothing important had happened, just the 3rd Hokage had talked to naruto about the incident and this jinchuriki status after Iruka, the clone had perfectly handled the situation as the 'loser naruto'.

Naruto tied the headband around his forehead and looked at the element of the clone being dispelled, this clone was different, unlike the shadow clone this one could handle hits and not be dispelled like 'shadow clones' and it could share memories through chakra transfer like the shadow clones and knows everything the original naruto knows, and the most important as a replacement for the real naruto since it's not a normal elemental clone no one can guess that it's a clone, and in naruto's knowledge counting himself only 2 people alive can use this element which means only the other person could have detected that clone, thankfully that ANBU never met the clone and the clone as made sure to not get close to that man.

Naruto weaved through about 5 hand seals and made a very small fireball that burned the remains of the clone. Naruto walked away from the shrunken statute of the 'Mokuton Bunshin' (wood clone).

Naruto made his way to the sewage lines manhole and without stopping he sensed that no one was about the iron lid and climbed up the ladder, as a ninja just to be safe he lifted the lid as little as he could and made sure no one was around and got out. He looked around the dark back ally street walked to the main street and mixed in with the crowd with his hands behind his head as the 'loser Naruto' would do so and made his way to the 'Shinobi tower' to get his photo done for the registration.

"I'll have to keep up the act for a little longer, just a few more months, during the chunin exams, that's when I'll let the whole world know about me." Naruto thought, his plans of revealing his identity were different. Originally, he wanted to first become Hokage and then reveal his, unarguably legendary heritage.

Son of the 4th Hokage- Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki, secretly Senju as well. While Naruto's father was the son of normal civilians his mother was the granddaughter of the 1st Hokage Hashirama Senju and his wife, the 1st jinchuriki for the 'Nine-tails' Mito Uzumaki Senju thought their 3rd born child who lived his life in 'Uzushiogakure' (Village Hidden in Whirlpools). This makes Naruto a cousin-nephew to one of the legendary Sannin Tsunade Senju, who was appointed Naruto's godmother by Kushina. Since Mito was the daughter of the Uzumaki clan head of her time Ashina Uzumaki, who was the clan head.

One would think Naruto is very lucky, a child born with luck, but the amount of pain and misery his lineage gave him was unmatched. Just being a user of 'Hiraishin no jutsu' makes him a possible reason for war, if the world found out about his family the '4th great ninja war' would become a great possibility. This is the reason that his parents didn't talk about kushina's connection to the Senju to even Minato's master jariya, their close friend Tsunade, and even the 3rd Hokage hiruzen sarutobi. Such details were something they wanted to reveal after their child and village were strong enough and recovered from the damages of the '3rd great ninja war', but at last, the 'nine-tails' attack took that chance from them so Naruto learned about all of this from some other emergence mediums they left behind.

Naruto had grown up in a way that forced him to be as mature as someone who was growing up during the 'Clans War Era', a time before the establishment of the ninja villages. This is why he is aware of how careful he needs to be when he reveals his identity but in the past few years he realized that with the 'Uchiha clan massacre', death of the 4th Hokage, Tsunade leaving the village, Orochimaru's defection, Itachi's defection, and Kakashi not becoming an S-rank yet, shinobi clans limiting themselves to clan techniques and with no know prodigy like Itachi, Kakashi or Minato being born, with the only 2 active S- rank being the 3rd Hokage hiruzen sarutobi and jariya of the Sannin who are now getting old, Konoha is at it's weakest since it's establishment and because of the selfish officials in the village the world doesn't know of naruto's caliber. All the while 'Sunagakure no sato' (village hidden in the sand) has not been able to develop much and 'Kirigakure no sato' (village hidden in the mist) has been in a civil war for a long time now, this this is the perfect time for 'Iwagakure no sato' (village hidden in the stones) and 'Kumogakure no sato' (village hidden in the clouds) who have had the time to recover from the 3rd great ninja war peacefully, though the reason they still haven't declared war is because of two reasons. First, they don't exactly know about Konoha's state as a military power and are fully aware that if 'nine-tails' didn't appear as a free beast after all these years, it meant there is a jinchuriki, one that the village could have possibly trained to be a weapon. Naruto was glad that such an assumption was made because that was the only reason they were still wary of Konoha, how wrong they were about Naruto being trained professionally from birth. In fact, the civilian counsel had gone an extra step to make him weak by sabotaging his education in the academy, well at least his clone's.

The second reason was the 4th Hokage, Minato Namikaze. While the man died more than 10 years ago, the number of shinobi he killed was too high. In fact, the only reason they are not at war is that Iwa and Kumo lost the greatest number of shinobi during the 3rd war, all because of Minato. They were most likely still recovering from that loss and planned to attack when they were sure they could crush Konoha in one go.

Naruto was glad that the current Tsuchikage and Raikage were too proud to ally with each other, otherwise, with the combined forces of the 2 villages and the fact that each village has 2 jinchuriki would mean the two could most likely first destroy Suna, Kiri, and Konoha, and then fight each other to take over the shinobi world.

To put it simply, while the shinobi world seems at its most peaceful point since the ninja villages were established, they are also at the most dangerous point, and one wrong move can create the ugliest war the world's history has seen.

Right now, the 'one wrong move' is to let Naruto's lineage be leaked before Konoha is strong enough to face the enemies or at least make the enemies think the village is strong enough to do that. Ironically the only way Naruto can do that is to tell the world of his lineage, since while worth waging war over, naruto's lineage alone would make him seem like a high-level threat, what naruto needs is the power to defeat anyone they send to test his strength to see if he has any talent as a ninja and if he is worth waging a war over. At that point, naruto's job will be to delay the inevitable war long enough for Konoha to regain enough strength to fight the war.

This is Naruto's self-assigned role for the future, a burden he decided to carry alone.

Naruto entered the 'shinobi building' and made his way to the reception, after receiving a scowl and the location for the ninja registration photographer he made his way to the room.

"I'm here for a ninja registration photograph," he said once the old photographer looked at him. The old man nodded and told him to go in front of the camera.

Naruto followed suit and stood in front of the black background and got a photo done, his face expressionless, like it should be for a shinobi, though his orange clothes collided with his expression this was the best he could do. He had a lingering feeling that his clone would have pained his face and made a ridiculous pose but that was not the case for the real Naruto, while his truth would come out during the 'chunin exams' he wanted to be just a little serious occasionally, as for the current registration photo.

"I'll just get a new one done after I take the 'mask' off." He thought and left the building.

He went to the bathroom switched places with a new 'wood clone' and left in a blue flash. For the rest of the day, he stayed in an isolated place meditating, and after sending out a telepathic message to all his clones he started receiving and sorting out the memories of his 'Advanced shadow clones' and organized all his intel.

"Nothing interesting…" he thought when the memories of his wood clone came, and a smile came to his lip with the memories. Apparently, his clone encountered the grandson of the 3rd Hokage, the clone made sure to make the interaction look like it was their first meeting but only he and the Hokage knew that Naruto was his babysitter after his parents passed and his grandfather was in a shock while managing the village and coming to terms with everything, but the boy– Konohamaru Sarutobi, was just a baby so he wouldn't remember and later the Hokage had appointed others to take the place so naruto can focus on his studies in the ninja academy.

Naruto remembered, that taking care of Konohamaru was one of the brighter events of his life, the boy was and still is truly like a younger brother to him. However, in Naruto's eyes, Konohamaru genuinely didn't need to know about his connection with Naruto since he didn't consider it a big deal. "I'll meet him sometime soon." Naruto thought and continued with his work.

-The next day-

Naruto entered the 'shinobi academy' and went to his classroom. When he entered, he saw his classmate, to be more specific the 'clan heirs'.

Naruto looked at the 7 clan heirs of Konoha.

Shikamaru Nara of the Nara clan.

Choji akimichi of the akimichi clan.

Ino Yamanaka of the Yamanaka clan.

Kiba Inuzuka of the Inuzuka clan.

Shino aburame of the aburame clan.

Hinata hyuga of the hyuga clan.

And lastly––

Sasuke Uchiha of the Uchiha clan.

People of Konoha believe these 7 are the future of the village, the ones who will carry the next generation. Some delusional people in the council call these 7–– especially Sasuke Uchiha, 'the hope of Konoha', however, naruto calls them all, 'his greatest waste of time'.

The 'shinobi academy' offers a 4-year long course, and the standard age of acceptance is 8 years old, but because Naruto was close to the 3rd Hokage Naruto had begged himself a chance to enter at 7 years old. That is how Naruto had joined the academy a year early–– or rather his clone had taken his place. At that time, he was in a class of 8-year-olds, he remembered there was a prodigy of the Hyuga clan in that class. But the next year when he learned that literally all the heirs of the active clans were in the same year, he told his clone to purposely fail the end-of-the-year exam in his 2nd year and repeat it with the class of clan heirs. The reason was that he didn't know much about the personalities of the future clan heads and he knew if the village would advance, he needed to work with them and help them in the future so he wanted to know what kind of people they were and what kind of potential they had. He believed since they were all children of clan heads, he would see young shinobi who knew how dangerous the life of a shinobi was. What he got to see was a group of daydreaming idiots.

The Nara and Akimichi clan heirs had no motive to become shinobi beyond the reason that they were clan heirs. The Yamanaka clan heir was a fangirl for the Uchiha, no more is needed to be said about her. The Inuzuka is a brash idiot who thinks he is already the strongest, even with his 'Advanced shadow clone' intel network, naruto knows he can't figure out how ridiculous Kiba's daydreams are so he doesn't bother with him.

Naruto's eyes went to the only 3 competent ones in the heirs––

The Hyuga clan heiress, though she was not worthy of being a kunoichi like the Yamanaka heiress, the Hyuga is the best kunoichi in terms of shinobi skills in class, mainly because the other kunoichi candidates are also fangirls and prefer dieting, and makeup, and look beautiful for the Uchiha, not that it ever works.

The Aburame clan heir was a serious one, but not strong enough, mainly because he was like the rest of the people from clans, only focused on clan techniques, but he was the best he could find in terms of a Konoha shinobi mentality, even if he wasn't an ideal shinobi, then again 90 percent of Konoha ninjas weren't.

Last but not least–– Sasuke Uchiha, the last of the Uchiha clan and the sole survivor of the Uchiha clan massacre. Naruto knew what the boy wanted; he sought revenge. Again, not something a shinobi of Konoha should be obsessed with but Naruto couldn't exactly blame the boy, his clan was murdered, but still. Naruto knows many people who were broken worse than him in history. Many people lost their loved ones to the darkness of the shinobi world. Sasuke is a flight risk, naruto doesn't have much hope for the boy, naruto could tell his chakra was simply too dark and borderline evil. Forget being a hope to the village the Uchiha will probably become one of the biggest problems for the village, regardless, naruto's ideals connected deeply to the 'will of fire' tell him to at least try and fix things.

Naruto himself had lost the 'Uzumaki clan' in the '2nd Great Ninja War' and his parents sacrificed themselves and turned him into a jinchuriki for the village, in return their last wish of Naruto being treated like a hero was tarnished, and the 'Uzumaki clan's' history was erased from Konoha's history books while the 3rd Hokage wasn't able to do anything about it because the corrupt civilian council gained to much power while the shinobis were busy after the '3rd great ninja war' and 'nine-tails' attack.

Anyway, the point is that the clan heirs are not good enough, not nearly good enough. They are levels above the rest of the 23 students in their class but as ninjas, they are pathetic to Naruto. But at last, he didn't have any other option but to make them grow, and he had no interest in holding their hand, the shinobi world is dark and dangerous, and Naruto will use cruel and harsh ways to make them realize their own flaws–– but that will be after the chunin exams, when the world will know about him. After all, till then he will have to prepare for the chaos the nations will experience at the reveal of his heritage.

Naruto used a little of his skills in stealth and used his speed to go and sit at the upper corner seat next to the window, he stealthily used the wind from the open window and hid himself behind the blue curtains and started waiting for Iruka come and assign the teams. He knew Iruka would come because some of his clones were henged into a pot, plants, and other small decoration objects, they heard and saw Iruka being discharged for the task.

Naruto thought about the clan heirs again and sighed, "Seriously, if I were in their parent's shoes I'd want a refund and a redo." His thoughts paused for a second, "I'll have to find a proper wife for myself, someone who understands that the village is my priority, I'll most likely have to enter the 'CRA' (Clan Restoration Act) and be in arranged and political marriages" naruto sighed, "I'll think about that when the council bring ups it up after the grand revile, the civilian council and elders will probably try to use that to either make alliances or marry me girls of their own chose to manipulate or control me and my descendants and clan belongings." Naruto sighed again, his life would be complicated but he had plans about the important things in place except his marriage, he had plans but he couldn't put them into action till the reveal.

"I should focus on what I have to do for the next few months before the chunin exams. I'll worry about the rest later." He thought when Iruka came in.

Naruto waved at Iruka a little from the back since the chunin was looking for him, he spotted him quickly and blinked in confusion since Naruto wasn't at his usual seat next to Sasuke or Sakura but didn't think much of it and started his speech.

Naruto observed Iruka, the man was different than many others, he had lost his parents to the 'nine-tails' attack and initially hated Naruto for it, naruto knew he even considered killing Naruto years ago but realized his mistake and tried to understand him instead, naruto's glad he stopped, otherwise either he would have to show his skills or Iruka would have discovered that the naruto was a clone.

Naruto paid extra attention When Iruka started announcing the teams, the first 6 weren't important but Naruto believed knowing every team was for the better, even if his clones had already informed him of the teams, and the heirs were in the ones he predicted they would be in.

"Team 7: Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha, your sensei will be Kakashi Hatake." This got a reaction.

"N-Naruto?! Sensei Naruto failed the test." Someone said.

Iruka blinked, "did they not see him in the class?" he thought and pointed his pen toward Naruto.

"Here it comes," he thought as everyone, even the uncaring Sasuke turned his head to see him.

"W-What the hell is he doing here!" someone said.

"Did he steal a headband?" a random girl said.

"He wouldn't be put in a team if he stole a headband dumbass." someone taunted the girl.

"Troublesome," the only Nara in the room muttered.

"NA-RU-TO! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO GET HERE!?" a pink-haired girl named Sakura Haruno exclaimed.

Naruto looked at her, "Ahh the extra girl." He thought this was what Naruto saw her as, a girl of a civilian family who was perhaps at the pinnacle of being a fangirl. According to Naruto, she was the best kunoichi of their year only because the shinobi academy's curriculum was worthless.

Naruto sighed and with his eyes closed and then snapped them open with a goofy grin that belonged to his 'loser mask self', "No Sakura I passed the test later, ask Iruka sensei!" he exclaimed, though he did make something different, he wondered if that would be noticed.

For a second, everyone fell silent in shock, "H-He didn't call Sakura with 'Chan'!?" everyone thought in shock.

"W-What?" Sakura thought in shock.

Iruka, as an instructor collected himself and faked a cough, "Right, naruto did pass the exam properly, there is nothing more to say, I will announce the other teams." He said and continued.

As Naruto had predicted, Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame were put in the same team, in Team 8, and Shikamaru Nara, ino Yamanaka, and Choji Akimichi were put in the same team, in Team 10, while Team 9 was still in circulation.

"All your sensei's will be here after the lunch break. I wish you all luck." Iruka said and with a polite bow and a small smile, left the room.

Then everyone, especially the likes of Sakura and Ino looked back, to where Naruto was sitting, they all wanted answers.
"NARUTO! -–!?" The voices turned confused halfway, naruto had disappeared, and it wasn't hard to figure out how for a few, the window was open the entire time, and Naruto left through it. Some people still wanted answers, while others looked back to the front because they didn't care that much.

Naruto, who was now on the roof of the building walked towards the door to the building and got in, hiding behind the door in the staircase, he closed his eyes and analyzed some memories a clone had sent.

Naruto sighed while thinking, "Looks like I'll have to leave the village for a while…".

Naruto weaved through 7 hand seals and created a 'wood clone', "Take my place and send me the memories after the team meets sensei," he said and disappeared in a blue flash.

Naruto appeared in the sewage and changed his clothes into black ones. This time, he took out a storage scroll and got some things from it. Quickly, Naruto wore a black mask with no pattern on it that covered his eyes behind small one-way lenses. He changed into black shinobi pants and a black shinobi utility belt with 2 black thigh pouches on each thigh, a standard black ANBU vest with 2 pouches over a black high-neck shirt, and a standard grey 'tanto' (short sword) on his back, to cover it all, a black cloak to hide his body. He didn't have any fancy clothes on, just some to hide his tools so he could minimize any predictions an opponent could make and so they couldn't estimate his shinobi rank, since even if officially he's a genin his clothes suggest he's an ANBU and an enemy can treat him like one from the start. An attempt to get an unlikely advantage even if the chances stay small, it's better that they won't treat him like an ANBU from the start at least. To finish it all he took a black paper from his left vest pouch and put it on his head, he made 3 one-handed hand seals with his left hand and his hair turned black as the paper seemed to be absorbed into his hair, though the paper is made of the same tree that chakra paper is made from, using a the fuinjutsu ink on it in a special matter can create this hair dyeing paper but it wears off automatically in 24 hours. Naruto had acquired the chakra paper and his shinobi clothes and pieces of equipment under a 'Henge no Jutsu' (Transformation Technique) with money he acquired through… multiple underhanded means, like stealing from the bodies of enemies and bandits he killed and many other means.

Naruto changed into this outfit as fast as he could, and as a shinobi, it was 52 seconds. Before disappearing, he took out a scroll, opened it, and read what was on it, conforming his location naruto put the scroll in his ninja pouch and disappeared in a blue flash to a 'Hiraishin mark' outside of the village, which was 42.7 kilometers north of his current spot in total, 20.3 kilometers from his sewage spot to the village wall, and 22.4 kilometers from the village wall to the place he had to go to.

Reason?

The place he was going to was a one-time use spot his informant had decided to meet at, it was about half a kilometer to the west of a small village. Yes, his informant.

During the years Naruto was working behind the village's back, not only was he taking care of the internal problems but also handling the problems in 'Hi no Kuni' (Land of Fire). This includes eliminating the ninjas' poling against the village and nation, be it ninja teams sent by the enemy to scout the land, teams sent to burn the agricultural lands to reduce food resources or sabotage other resource routes of the village, or kill the bandits that are terrorizing the people in the 'land of fire', and in some cases the small number of mafia and criminal organizations in the shinobi world. Naruto stopped many of their people from running all sorts of businesses like drug trafficking, human trafficking, smuggling, kidnapping, plundering small no-name villages, information distribution, and other things. Naruto saved many people from that, and many wanted to help him back but of course, he didn't and couldn't let them join the shinobi world in combat. Hence, he decided to make a spy network like 'jariya of the Sannin' though, unlike jariya, Naruto's network was not as widespread. It was only limited to the 'land of fire' and a few small nations around the 'land of fire' but he was confident his informants were loyal to him. Unlike Jariya's spies, he didn't want any money in return since they wanted to help him back for his favors as Naruto had helped him without asking for anything back. However, even these people didn't have a clue about his identity as Naruto trusted them but a shinobi has to be careful, naruto never trusted anyone blindly and always kept an eye out for any signs of possible betrayal, since that's how shinobi world works, who knows when a person decided to join an enemy to either have more resources like wealth or power or to protect their family who are being held hostage. In any case, this hasn't happened to Naruto's information network because he earned his loyalty by showing that he truly wants to protect them and the 'land of fire'.

After teleporting to the mark closest to the meeting spot, Naruto had to run another 7 kilometers, which took about 5 minutes. When he reached the place, he calmly settled down in a crossed-leg position and started waiting for his informant. While doing that, he was meditating on the information coming from the village. He was glad that the meeting spot was close enough to the village, as his sensor ability covered most of the village, which allowed him to get information from his clones.

While Naruto knows he's far from being the strongest shinobi alive yet, he's confident he's the best sensor by all means. He can sense chakra signatures in a radius of 83 kilometers (diameter of 166 kilometers). The ability to sense all chakra signatures, their emotions, chakra affinities, and chakra quantity in a radius of 52 kilometers (diameter of 104 kilometers), however, after the 52-kilometer radius (diameter of 104-kilometer) mark he can't sense the emotions of his sensory ability's targets since they are too far for his current skill level. After the radius of a 66-kilometer mark (diameter of 132 kilometers) he can't sense the target's chakra affinities, however, he can sense their chakra capacity and identify chakra signatures (If he has sensed the chakra before) till the end of his range, which is a radius of 83 kilometers (diameter of 166 kilometers).

Konoha itself is a village shaped in a perfect circle, with a diameter of exactly 50 kilometers. Naruto's secret spot in the sewage is exactly 4.7 kilometers from the village center which is the 'Hokage tower', right under the 'Hokage monument', and the 'village wall' is 20.3 kilometers from the sewage spot, the current meeting spot is about 29.4 kilometers from the 'village walls', in total the village center is 54.4 kilometers from naruto, just in his total range.

Naruto sat down and started managing the chakra and information from each clone. This was also a type of training, for him at least. While mostly because of his Advanced shadow clone Jutsu's abilities, but because his genetically inherited resilience and quantity in chakra made it so that even though his clone network required him to regularly give out chakra to 'recharge' his clones to both maintain their existence and 'transformation jutsu'. The amount of chakra he needed to give out was small, and not constant. As a result, his chakra reserves were never completely full, now normal shinobi would need to exhaust their chakra reserves to make them grow, like how you need to damage your muscles through muscle conditioning and then let them rest to make them stronger. But this is what made him and the Uzumaki clan as a whole special, only the Uzumaki clan could make their charka reserves grow without completely exhausting them. If an Uzumaki's chakra level is less than 80 percent of their total reserves the reserves will start to grow as a whole, this was one of the reasons the Uzumaki clan was feared so much.

Naruto always had to distribute chakra to his clones at least once a day which made his reserves diminish by 40 percent since he had literate over 1000 clones spying around the village. His reserves grow while he simultaneously restores his chakra reserves, in that sense managing the amount of chakra for his clones worked as an exercise to increase the chakra reserves.

Naruto sat there and waited for his informant to appear while managing his clone's information, so far, his 'wood clone' was the only one who brought any interesting news. Apparently, Kakashi Hatake, his jonin sensei–– and childhood ANBU bodyguard had told them about the 'true genin exam' that will take place for team 7. If they fail, they will be sent back to the academy.

Naruto smiled in amusement, that was a lie from Kakashi. The village can't afford to only have 9 ninjas come out of the academy every year if that were the case they would never have enough shinobi for a war, while Konoha did follow the 'quality over quantity' saying, that the failing candidates will be sent to shinobi reserves and put under a less individually focused training.

Other than that, nothing of much interest was happening, the ninja in the 'IT department' were doing their regular job, and the same goes for all divisions and centers. After sorting the information naruto picked up a leaf, since he was sitting under a tree in a forest it was relatively easy for him to pick dozens of leaves from his sitting position.

Naruto put the leaf in the palm of his hand, placed his other hand over it covering the leaf, and started focusing on his chakra. In a second his desired reaction happened and he took one hand off and looked at the leaf, it was now in 2 pieces.

Naruto smiled, the first step of the 'wind chakra manipulation' was now so easy he could basically do it on instinct. He still couldn't do the 'waterfall cutting' exercise with wind chakra but partly because he's always busy with visits outside of the village or taking care of his own discovered 'missions', his training has been on a halt for a few months now with the increasing activities in the 'land of fire'.

"I'll have to make some time before the chunin exams to at least finish my 'wind chakra manipulation'" Naruto thought and picked another leaf, and tried another thing. He repeated the process, but this the leaf burned, naruto picked another and this time the leaf was drenched, then he made another wrinkled, then another crumbled into dust.

Naruto sighed after that, he had finished the first step of all element training and was working on his primary, the wind element. However, he just couldn't make the time to finish even one.

"Only if the ninja of the village were a little competent, I wouldn't have to worry about small villages being attacked by bandits. That's at least a C-rank mission." He thought and started waiting again.

When the time was close to 5 P.M. the mana appeared. The man had a black cloak on, his beard was mostly white and his physical was on the muscular side, this man was a hardworking farmer before his village was attacked by a group of bandits with 2 hired rouge chunin. Before much destruction occurred naruto had happened and killed them all. This man wanted to help Naruto as a return favor and Naruto offered him to supply Naruto with information.

"Sorry for being late 'shinobi of hope', I got involved in a drunk bar fight while getting some extra info." The man greeted in a deep voice, calling Naruto by the nickname he had gotten from the people he saved in the 'land of fire', since naruto didn't have a code name for himself the ones he saved started calling him the 'shinobi of hope'.

Naruto got up, his face and body covered with his mask and cloak. "that's fine, what information did you have to share to have to all of me on a short notice?" naruto asked, his voice lacking any emotion and his voice was deepened by channeling chakra in his throat, it was to make minimize anything that could reveal his identity, a proper shinobi always did their best to leave the least number of blunders.

The man had contacted Naruto through the only way Naruto had told all his informants to contact him, a ninja scroll. The scroll has a special seal inside it, when a person writes something on the scroll the same text will appear on the scroll Naruto has, it worked as a master scroll to any, but the messages can only go one way and can take a few hours to appear on the master scroll depending on the distance. Before coming, naruto had read the scroll in the sewage, and it read.

I wish you well 'shinobi of hope', I'll make it quick, I need you to appear about 40 kilometers to the north of Konoha. It's an emergency, I will meet you at a spot half a kilometer to the west of a small village named *** before sunset.

Naruto stopped remembering the message and looked at the man, "you said it's an emergency, what happened?" he asked calmly.

"Yes, 'shinobi of hope' a large group of bandits has been attacking and plundering small villages in the area for 3 days now, in the 3 days they have ruined 3 small villages already, a night each." The man got a serious and stressed expression as he said.

Naruto understood the situation and realized the seriousness of the situation, a small village can have about 100-to-300 people, which means the bandits had potentially ruined 300-to-900 lives in 3 days.

"They attack at night only?" naruto asked and the man nodded. Without missing a beat naruto asked another question, "what villages have they attacked? Are there any noticeable patterns in their movement?" he asked.

"Yes, they started moving from south to east, they seem to be going towards the 'land of rice fields', I think it has to do something with the ninja activities there." the man said.

The last part caught Naruto's interest, "Shinobi activities in the 'land of rice fields'? That's where Orochimaru made his ninja village, if the bandits plan on going to the 'land of rice fields' instead of changing their path before getting there then Orochimaru might be involved in this bandit rampage. Besides, bandits don't make back-to-back attacks on villages, if this group is on the move every night, then that means they aren't even waiting to make camps to stay overnight, it sounds like they are on a time limit of sorts or have to get somewhere." Naruto thought looking at the man.

"I assume you called me here because the village to the east is the one they will attack tonight?" he asked and the man nodded.

"Yes, some hunters in the village spotted the bandits coming this way, they will attack after dark, potentially close to midnight." The man said and Naruto nodded and started walking towards the village, getting the hint the man followed.

"Any idea how many bandits are there in the group? Are there any shinobi? Are they kidnapping any villagers?" Naruto asked.

"From what I know around 50 bandits and no shinobi, but they are taking young kids," the man's voice turned Solem, he looked worried, "they are probably kidnapping them for human trafficking, maybe the kids have already been…" he didn't finish the sentence.

Naruto knew what the man was thinking and interjected, "I know bandits usually kidnap kids and women for human trafficking and sexual pleasure but I think it might not be the case this time." Naruto said getting his attention. Naruto continued, "I have a clue about what the ninja activities in the 'land of rice fields' are about, and if the bandits are going there then the man behind the ninja activities is trying to kidnap young kids and train them to be his soldiers for the long run." Naruto said and the man blinked absorbing the information.

"I see," he muttered and looked at Naruto, "but it's an assumption that the bandits are going to the 'land of rice fields' they could change their route soon." He said and Naruto nodded.

"Yes, but I have reasons to believe otherwise." Naruto said as they got close to the village, "Regardless, the objective remains the same, I will stop the bandits tonight and I'll trust you to make sure the kidnapped victims get back to their homes." Naruto said and the man nodded.

Naruto smiled behind his mask. This man didn't have to help him at all, but he did because he didn't want others to experience pain like he did. This was a proper example of someone who lived by the way of 'Hi no Ishi' (will of fire).

Naruto put his hand in his cloak, brought out something from his vest pockets, and threw it towards the man.

The man caught it with his right hand and looked to see 3 silver coins. The man looked at Naruto with hesitation but Naruto continued walking as he said, "For your troubles,". He knew that the man was doing it out of goodwill and to replay him but that didn't change the fact that the man had a family to take care of and was going to need money for that.

The man looked at the silver coins in his hand and realized the lack of any print on them except the number '1', in other words, a silver coin with untraceable origins.

"The number '1' is to represent its value," Naruto spoke getting the man's attention, "the silver coins with the number '1' are each valued at 1000 Ryo," Naruto said and the man nodded. Silver coins have a limit to their value, a silver coin can only go as high as 1000 to 5000 Ryo, and numbers 1-5 are to tell what a specific coin is worth. This means the 3 silver coins with the number '1' on each means Naruto gave him 3000 Ryo for the information on the bandits.

A smart move, this is how Naruto always makes wealth-based deals and transactions. Using things like silver and gold instead of normal currency so he can avoid any chances of being caught since he has dealt with all kinds of people in the past.

Naruto looked forward and saw a village from a small 20-foot-high cliff. It was now about 7 P.M.

"Looks like the wood clone will have to take Kakashi-san's test with the others." He thought and spoke to the man behind him.

"don't tell anyone I'm here, I will make a Stealth approach when the bandits attack," he said and the man nodded. Naruto was about to leave when the man stopped him.

"Wait there's one more thing!" the man called and Naruto turned to hear what this was about, Naruto signaled him to speak.

"It's about the 'land of rice fields' and 'Nami no Kuni' (land of waves)." He started and this got Naruto interested.

"What about them?" Naruto asked and the man continued.

"Recently shipments and supplies have been transported between the 'land of rice fields' and the 'land of waves' by the businessman named 'Gato'." The man said and Naruto raised his eyebrows behind his mask.

"Gato? As in, the shipping magnate and owner of the 'Gato company', from what I know he uses his import-n-export business as a cover to make his fortune from illegal goods and selling drugs. He's the richest non-ninja criminal in the underworld and illegal business circles." Naruto summarised and the man nodded.

"Yes, that gato. He has been sending shipments to the 'land of rice fields' from the 'land of waves' through the 'Kaze no Kuni' (land of wind)." The man said.

"though 'land of wind'?" naruto asked, his tone sharpened. Orochimaru was possibly using Konoha's allied nation as a means of transport.

"The man continued, "Yes, ships go from the 'land of waves' and stop at the 'land of wind' and supplies go from the southeast corner of the nation to the northeast corner, then enter the 'land of fire' from the upper west border and then some ninja's take the supplies from there to the 'land of rice fields." The man said.

Naruto looked down in thought and then looked up and asked, "How did you get this information and how much do you trust the source?" naruto asked.

"The source is reliable, they don't have a clue I gather information for anyone, the people are my old friends and traveling merchants to who I sell my harvested crops too, they told me the info as a passing gossip. The ninjas bought some food supplies from them when they were in the 'land of wind', close to where they passed the border into the 'land of fire'. The cargo clearly had the Gato company's logo on it and my friends saw them again in the 'land of fire' in a village but the logo was removed from all the cargo. One thing to note was that they had headbands with a musical symbol on them." The man said.

Naruto nodded, "I see, I'll look into it." naruto said and tossed another coin from inside his cloak and tossed another coin. This time it was a printless gold coin with the number '3' on it. unlike silver, gold is valued much more highly, the jump to being, numbers '1' to '5' represents 10,000-to-50,000 Ryo. This means Naruto gave him 30,000 Ryo this time.

Again, the man looked at Naruto but before he could say anything naruto spoke, "Keep it, the information of this level deserves it." Naruto said and disappeared in a burst of speed.

Though Naruto believed that the man deserved the pay, Naruto knew that he needed to pay his spies, after all, no matter what you do at one point will have to stop working for free, for whatever reason they face. Instead of letting a spy network of trusted people crumble he can just pay them what they deserve and keep both himself and them happy.

Naruto reappeared on top of a tall tree close by and sat on one of the branches on the top. "Mizuki said Orochimaru made a hidden village in the 'Land of Rice Fields' and named it 'The Village Hidden in the Sound' Now these ninjas taking supplies to the 'Land of Rice Fields' have musical symbols on their headbands? This seems an easy case to understand, Orochimaru is up to something and it might be against the leaf, but where does the 'land of wind' or rather 'Sunagakure no Sato' (Village Hidden in the Sand) fall in this? All ninja nations know that Gato is involved in illegal business but they let his cargo travel in their land from the southeast corner of the nation to the northeast corner, it can't be that they didn't notice such a trip, the corners are about 700 kilometers apart. Does this mean the 'Kaze no Kuni no Daimyo' (Daimyo of the land of wind) and the 'Kazekage' (wind shadow) are involved in all this? No, the info from a few months ago and the increased number of missions concerning the 'land of wind' made it clear that the 'wind daimyo' is not happy with the 'village hidden in the sand' or the 'Kazekage', and ninjas of the 'hidden sand village' could have hidden Gato's tracks from the 'wind daimyo's' samurai's but not the other way around." Naruto's concern increased, "does this mean the 'hidden sand village' is plotting something with Orochimaru? But what? Is it against 'Konoha'," Naruto sighed, "I should have extended my network to the other nations long ago but I was too cautious, I'll have to send some of my spies or contact some 'underworld information brokers' and manage for now." He thought and looked up to see the sun.

Naruto closed his eyes, sat in a lotus position, and started making different plans for the future while waiting for the bandits to attack.

-A few hours later-

Naruto opened his eyes when he sensed multiple civilian-level chakras going toward the village. It was night time around 3 A.M.

Naruto disappeared in a burst of speed and reached the village quickly; he was the people of the village were in chaos while bandits with flame torches were coming towards the village entrance on horses.

"WHAT DO WE DO!" someone in the village cried in fear.

"MY CHILDREN! SOMEONE PLEASE HIDE MY CHILDREN!?" A mother cried.

"THEY'RE GOING TO BURN OUR HOUSES!" An old man said.

"WHAT DO WE DO!?" Someone actually asked a better question.

"DID SOMEONE SENT FOR NINJAS TO KONOHA?!" Another asked.

"WE DID–– BUT THE PROCESS OF ACCEPTING AND ASSIGNING MISSIONS WILL TAKE ANOTHER 2 DAYS!" the one who looked like the village chief answered.

Naruto could sense everyone's panic and fear in their chakra, and Naruto knew he had to protect them, innocent people were making a living by helping each other and managing small businesses.

"The bandits will reach here in 7 seconds." Naruto analyzed and jumped down while weaving 4-hand seals and whispered "Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall." And slammed his hands on the ground when he landed and a 20-foot-tall wall appeared in front of the village entrance in a curved shape blocking the about 15 bandits that had crossed the village gate.

The villagers looked confused but before they could say anything naruto enhanced his vocal cords with chakra and said in a deep voice that echoed, "I'll take care of the bandits" and jumped 15 feet high on the wall at a speed no one could keep up with, he jumped another 5 feet and stood tall on the wall and looked down to see the bandits pour in while the ones at front were confused at the wall that raised in front of them.

"57 of them? This will be quick." Naruto thought and pressed his right foot on the edge of the wall with enough strength to make a pebble worth crumble down and get the bandit leader's attention who looked up making the other bandits look up too.

Naruto's face was covered with a black mask but they assumed his face was shadowed because of the night. Judging by his height and because of the dark they assumed he was around 10 years old.

"OII BRAT WHAT'S THIS?! WHO DID THIS? WE KNOW NINJAS CAN'T BE HERE IT WOULD BE TOO SOON!" The one who looked like the second-in-command yelled as they all hopped off their horses.

"Dumbass, even if the brat is on the wall he's too young to know anything, the villagers probably became warry when the news of our first attack spread far enough and made a wall over the last 2 days, find a way from the sides, take what we can and kidnap all the kids younger than 10." The leader said as they looked up, he took off a bow and arrow from the saddle of his horse and aimed up, "I'll take care of this brat." He said and took aim.

Naruto watched the man take aim while his subordinates were getting ready to leave and go around the wall he made, then, the bandit shot the arrow and it flew towards him.

Without interest, naruto tilted his head to his right and quickly caught the arrow in his right hand. He squeezed the arrow breaking it in two letting the bottom half fall down while holding the upper half with the sharp side in his hand.

This startled the bandits who all stopped and looked back at Naruto. "What the..." was the thought in their heads.

Before they did anything naruto made his move and launched 5 shurikens toward them, weaved 3 hand seals, and called out, "'Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu'!" the 5 shurikens turned into 50, and before they landed naruto called again, "'Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson'" naruto inhaled deeply and spit out a cloud of flame making all the shuriken engulf in flames.

The bandit's eyes widened, and they all thought along the lines of, "WHAT THE- THIS BRAT'S A NINJA!?"

About 20 bandits in the back were struck in the head killing them instantly, the ones who didn't die had their heads catch on fire killing them more painfully, while the other 30 shurikens hit the ground getting the result Naruto wanted.

The loss of 20 bandits shocked them but the leader was confused too, "he missed 30 shots? A ninja missed more than half his shots?" but his doubt was cleared in less than a second when all the horses around them got out of control and started running back in fear of the fire.

The leader widened his eyes, "he wanted to take out our means of escape with fire and he killed the 20 on the back to reduce the chances of anyone escaping!" the leader realized.

Naruto narrowed his eyes, "The emotions in his chakra suggest he realized what I did, a smart bandit is a rarity, it's a shame he didn't put himself to good use for the world." He thought and looked at the last of the horses get far enough, another reason he used a fire jutsu was so the horses would get caught up in the next attack.

Naruto jumped high in the air as he saw the remaining 37 bandits draw their weapons and some shoot arrows towards him. Naruto weaved through 11 hand seals in the air and whispered, "'Wind Release: Pressure Damage'." Then inhaled deeply expanding his chest and blew out a compressed ball of wind that went toward the group of bandits and expanded into a huge dome of wind that had a raging storm inside it, the wind was strong enough to rip out trees from the ground.

All the bandits flew into the air more than 70 feet high and slammed into the ground dying on impact while the wooden village gate was also ripped out of the ground and destroyed, a small price to save the village. All bandits were falling or had already laid dead on the ground in pools of their own blood. However, the leader was not so lucky for Naruto himself had caught him in the air. Naruto threw him to the side near the wall, formed two 'Advanced shadow clones', and sent them after the horses.

Naruto quickly drew the blade on his back and pointed its tip at the bandit leader's throat, the man was lying on his back in fear as he saw most of his comrades dead on the ground while a few were still falling down to their deaths.

Naruto said a single thing, "Corporate and answer my questions and you'll die painfully." Naruto said darkly as the man gulped.

-A few hours later-

Naruto killed the bandit leader after his questions were answered, later he used another jutsu to drop the 'earth wall' he had made. His clones and some hunters of the village were helping them clean the corpses while some villages had gone to a makeshift camp the horses led them to.

Naruto recalled a hunter's words from 2 hours ago, "That was a smart move 'Shinobi of Hope'. When animals like cows and horses are scared, they go to the place they came from, in this case, they lead you to the place the kidnapped kids were at, right?" he asked and naruto nodded.

"Yes, there were 17 more bandits and about 110 kids, my clones took care of them, I'll trust the villages to help the kids and everything they plundered get back to their homes," Naruto asked and some men nodded with smiles, and followed another one of naruto's clones to get to the camp.

Back to the present naruto was on the side with his informant, talking in whispers while overlooking the work of the villagers.

"Did you get anything from the bandit leader?" the man asked.

"Yes, they were going to the 'land of rice fields'," Naruto said confirming their suspicions. Naruto continued, "Apparently a squad of ninjas with musical symbols on their headbands had told them to plunder as much as they could and bring the resources there and also kidnap kids." Naruto and silence fell between them for a few seconds.

"What do you think they were trying to do?" the man asked.

Naruto had some theories but he didn't want to give any information to the man, that would jeopardize his safety more than it already was so Naruto gave a vague answer, "I have a few things in mind, I'll look into it," he said and turned to face the man, "I believe something big is happening that will affect the entire 'Land of Fire', I need you to keep an eye on how many shipments come from the 'Gato company' to the 'Land of Rice Fields'. If you can figure out what is in the shipments please do, but don't do anything suspicious so lay as low as possible." Naruto instructed and the man nodded.

Naruto looked up to see the sun, it was past noon at least, naruto looked back at the man, "I'll have to leave now, please take care of things here." he said and the man nodded.

"May the Gods be by your side 'Shinobi of Hope'." He wished and Naruto disappeared after nod of a gratitude.

-10 kilometers to the south of the village-

Naruto stopped; he was in the range of receiving information from his 'wooden clone' and sent a chakra signal and received the memories.

Getting the memories he… didn't know how to feel. On one hand, his team managed to pass the test but he didn't like the fact that his clone had been the target of Kakashi's 'one thousand years of death jutsu'. Naruto was glad that unlike the 'shadow clone jutsu' or his 'Advanced shadow clone jutsu' the 'wooden clone jutsu' didn't pass the memories as a personal experience so he didn't feel any pain of a finger jab in his… behind.

Naruto shook his head, he had more important things to deal with. He sat down in a lotus position and sent about 70 percent of his overall charka to his clones evenly since he's be leaving to look into Orochimaru and Gato for a while. As for his team, his 'wooden clone' can handle the D-rank missions. His clone can make some money he can use in Konoha since he can't make it obvious that he has gold and silver coins to work with.

After an hour of sorting chakra and information, he got up and left in a blur of speed to get his work done.

-3 days later, The Hokage office-

Hiruzen sarutobi, the 3rd Hokage was rubbing his temples while reading the report on his table.

"Again huh? it's been 3 months since his last escapade was reported," he thought as he read the report of the masked enigma taking care of an entire group of bandits by himself. There were no eyewitnesses of how the boy killed them.

The villages just said that there was some fire for a few seconds and then some sort of vortex sent bandits flying in the air which killed them, and then their 'Shinobi of Hope' saved and helped them get the stolen goods and kidnapped children back. Right now, 2 teams of Konoha chunin were helping deliver the supplies and kids back to their homes.

Hiruzen sighed, this was not the first time the masked man had helped the people in 'Land of Fire' or in other words, done the jobs of Konoha ninjas. This man had appeared in everyone's eyes around 5 years ago. He stopped bandits and took care of many internal problems over time.

This latest bandit attack he stopped was at the least, a C-rank mission for a team, and considering that he did it singlehandedly and brought back the supplies and kidnaped children of 3 villages can make this a B-rank mission. To top it all off he never left a trail to follow, sometimes even his footprints were simply fake tracks.

This was nothing, there have been reports of this man helping Konoha shinobi against enemy ninjas but directly confronting the enemy if the leaf ninjas were losing, not only did he help them but also defeated many ninjas in front them. But information on his skill is limited, leaf ninjas only know that this individual can defeat at least 5 chunin at the same time without showing any signs of difficulty in his movement. This analysis was made nearly 10 months ago, which was the last time Leaf Ninja got to see him in action.

It was a particular mission with one of Leaf's chunin squad was corned by 3 enemy chunin squad, the leaf ninja chunin took down 4 chunin but the other 8 had defeated them when the masked individual appeared and defeated the enemy swiftly.

Since his body was covered by a cloak and his face was covered by a mask only his physical actions could be used and that analysis was also limited to the level of observation the defeated and tired leaf chunin had.

The number of times this man had to help Konoha made hiruzen both suspicious and grateful. He was grateful because this man was helping Konoha, but he was suspicious because they had no clue who he was and why he was helping Konoha. His age was guessed to be around 10 years old because of his height but no one believed it, after all, the likes of 'Yondaime Mizukage' (fourth Mizukage) seemed like a child but had been around for more than 2 decades now. The masked man in 'Land of Fire' could also just be lacking in height, after all, it's not like a 10-year-old child managed to become a chunin-jonin level ninja while not having access to the ninja material in Konoha right?

While the people called this man the 'Shinobi of Hope' in the 'Land of Fire' the same can't be said for the officials of Konoha, even if they appreciate his hard work and display of 'Will of Fire' doesn't mean they support or encourage a ninja Woking without reporting to the shinobi organization for the 'Land of Fire' with his 'Konoha'. This is why he was given a different title to be referred to and was in the bingo book for Konoha, as well as the Iwa and Kumo for killing their ninjas. Right now, the actions regarding the masked individual were to capture him on sight for questioning and if possible, later recruitment into the village ranks.

I'll make it clear, this story is not going to be the type where everything revolves around OG characters. that's why most didn't have a name but I wanted to use the first chapter to show how different this naruto is from the OG. The pacing will get better and the chapters are going to be this long, (this chapter is about 16000 words/ 36 pages).

their will be parings but I can't beat making a story where everything is focused on couples and making fanfics on anime like Naruto romance-centric is not something I can do. this will be a cool and badass Naruto story with a proper power increase so the battles are interesting.
