Annabeth is hurt, but Silena will try to make it up to her ;)

CHAPTER 6 – will you kiss it better?

The following day, every remaining demigod seemed to be pumped-up. Well… all except for Annabeth. Usually the best strategist in camp, and never one to shy away from strategy discussions, she had been very quiet yesterday after the first game. Or rather after Silena's display with her boy-toy.

The brunette had been giving her the cold shoulder, a radical change from her flirty attitude. She couldn't stop thinking about what she might have done wrong. 'Stupid! Why do I care? I should be happy now that she's decided to back off!'

And her night had been no better. She was sporting dark circles under her eyes, and her walk towards the creek was sluggish.

Her sleep had been plagued by nightmares of Silena seducing her, only for said girl to reject her and then mock her by displaying her relationship with Yew. She could still hear Silena's taunting voice, repeating over and over: 'You really thought this was more than a game, Annie? How could I have feelings for you when I have someone like Michael?'

The confused girl woke up just as Michael was reeling his fist to punch her. Definitely not a good night. Feeling unrested, she tried her best to catch up on today's strategy, all the while avoiding Yew's mocking stare.

"… so I'll be guarding the flag with Connor while you three go looking for another flag. Clear?" Charlotte was just finishing her prep speech.

"Crystal clear. Let's win this!"

'Great. Now I just need to stay close to Keith, ignore Yew and everything will be fine'

Everything was not fine. Keith had been sent ahead some time ago to serve as a scout, which meant that Annabeth was now alone with her bully.

"… I'm just better than you, Annie. Look," he pushed her shoulder, making her fall, "you're so weak. I wonder what my girl ever saw in you!"

Annabeth was feeling more and more agitated. "Fuck off"

She tried to stand up but a kick to her stomach knocked her back to the ground. "You're pathetic. Silena will never want anything to do with you. I'm her boyfriend!"

"Oh? A boyfriend she has not slept with for the past three nights?"

His face turned purple. "What… You little… How do you know this?"

Annabeth saw her opening. "Wouldn't you like to know?" she shrugged, raising her eyebrows suggestively.

It was all the incentive Yew needed to draw his sword and lunge at the girl. Annabeth rolled on her side, narrowly avoiding a direct hit to the leg. She got up and swung her own sword at him. As Michael tried to counteract, she kicked him in the groin and threw her shield at his head.

Her opponent groaned in pain, his face pulling into a snarl. "That's all you got?"

He stormed over to the panting girl, thrusting his sword forward and making angry slashing moves. Annabeth's strength was quickly lessening and his attacks were getting harder and harder to fight off.

Suddenly, the horn sounded, signalling the end of the game. Yet, they showed no sign of stopping. His helmet fell when she rammed the hilt of her sword into it. This distraction allowed her to slash just deep enough to cut his skin.

"How's the arm, Mickie?" she taunted, putting some distance between them. As she was about to make a run for it, he threw a dagger that stabbed her in the leg, causing her to fall and yell in pain.

He kicked her in the leg where the dagger was still embedded, the girl almost passing out. "Not so wise now Annie, huh?" He would have punched her in the face had he not heard people making their way towards them. "See you later… or not" he grunted, taking his leave.

'He nearly killed me' was Annabeth's last conscious thought, just managing to see Keith leaning over her before losing consciousness.

It was late at night when the injured girl woke up, disoriented. 'Ow… Where am I?' Annabeth wondered when she tried to open her eyes. Her leg was still hurting, and sitting up proved to be too difficult for her. She let herself fall back, and winced at the headrush.

"You know you're pretty reckless, right?" Silena's voice startled Annabeth.

They seemed to be alone in the infirmary. "What?"

Silena started threading her fingers through soft hair, all the while glaring at Annabeth's wound.

"Why would you get hurt like that for a stupid game of capture the flag?"

Annabeth felt a sudden twinge in her chest. 'Was she… scared… for me?'

"Wait, what do you think happened exactly?" she asked, furrowing her brow. "Were we eliminated?"

She gestured for Silena to give her a glass of water which she carefully did, taking the cup and slowly brushing their hands together.

"Well, rumour has it that you were ambushed by Clarisse and Pollux who couldn't wait to take their revenge for the archery fiasco" she explained as she cut a few squares of ambrosia. "But neither have confirmed nor denied it so… And Grover's team is out"

"Poor Grover" she laughed then hissed when she tried to lift her right leg. "And you? What do you believe happened?"

"It would have been possible" Silena looked up at Annabeth's face with a concerned expression. She then looked back down at Annabeth's leg, sighing softly. "But seeing as I was with them when the horn rang out…"

'Should I tell her it was Michael? Will she believe me? And-'

She was interrupted by soft fingers and flushed cheeks. The daughter of Aphrodite tilted Annabeth's chin up. "Open up"

"What…?" she began to ask, which allowed Silena to feed her a piece of ambrosia. In a daze, she mindlessly licked her fingers clean, releasing them with a pop. The brunette's eyes widened and her blush deepened.

She held her chin for a minute, making soothing patterns with the tip of her fingers. Her hands were warm and lit her face on fire. Her skin was tingling. She noticed how Silena's chest rose and fell a few beats quicker.

"Silena-"

Before the blonde could finish her sentence, Silena brought her hand to Annabeth's neck and kissed her. Annabeth didn't resist, just deepening the kiss and leaning into her more. Her mind was blank. Hands were skating over clothes, lips opening up and discovering new territories.

Silena was the first to pull away. "Sorry, it's just that you were looking so kissable and…" the brunette confessed shyly as she ducked her head.

'Wow. I don't think I've ever seen her so… vulnerable'

"Don't be." Annabeth whispered, breathless, toying with Silena's golden rings. Familiar scents of citrus and vanilla invaded her senses.

"I bet I'm the best kisser you've ever had" the other girl smirked, regaining some of her flirtatious attitude.

"I-" Annabeth yawned, cutting off her answer. A soft kiss was laid upon the tip of her nose, her forehead and each of her fluttering eyelids. "Why are you so gentle with me? Shouldn't you be with your boyfriend?" she prodded sleepily.

"Sleep, chérie" was Silena's only answer. She slowly untied her favourite golden bracelet to put it around Annabeth's wrist. She got up and gave her one last look over her shoulder.

"Who did this to you?" was the last thing she heard before succumbing to sleep.
