Final month, Kanto Region
Near Celadon City
Two weeks later
It's been two weeks since the group consisting of Ash, Violet and Azrael met that fateful day. They had been traveling across Kanto, in search of any other humans still in the area in need of help. Who knows how many hadn't been able to escape from Kanto and had been fighting for survival like Violet had been before Ash heard the noise and saved her
So far, they hadn't encountered any other non-infected people or Pokemon and Violet was starting to wonder if she had been the last of the non-infected here in Kanto. She blames herself for not even attempting to look for others who could have been in the exact situation she had been in if Ash hadn't decided to rescue her. She'd ask him why he risked his life for someone he'd never before met, but Ash didn't answer her and Violet didn't push him for answers either
There was something bothering Violet though about Ash. Unlike Azrael or herself, Ash doesn't technically have a weapon to defend himself. Sure, she's seen his switchblade, but he's barely even used it. Now while this isn't exactly what's bothering her, she still finds it strange. The thing that really bothers her is how Ash is able to somehow tell when infected are near them as if he could sense them or something. However, she knows that isn't possible since he's human and unless school was leaving some details out, humans aren't able to have powers like Pokemon
Ash surprised the two when he suddenly took off running without warning. Violet and Azrael glanced at one another before following after the teen, not knowing what it was that had made him react the way he did. Maybe he just heard something they couldn't for all they knew
Before the trio was a young adult fighting off an infected Scyther, a brunette a few years younger than him watching from a tree with worried eyes. She gasped as the sword was sent flying from her brother and watched in horror as the infected got ready to slice his head off
The sound of metal hitting metal was heard as both humans looked surprised at the sudden arrival of a black-haired teen with a red poncho. It's like he'd appeared from out of nowhere. The infected Pokemon seemed equally surprised by this turn of events as the teen pushed the Pokemon back before slashing at it's head
The brunette jumped down from the tree as she ran towards her brother. She made eye contact with the teen who'd saved her brother and wondered what this teenage slightly younger than her brother could have gone through to have such a haunted look in his eyes
"ASH!" yelled a female voice as she turned and saw a female who looked to be a year older than her with a male wearing dark clothing and a hood at her side. So the teen who'd saved her brother was called Ash huh, why did that sound familiar?
Ash ignores her cries as he focuses his full attention on the infected before him. He turns around and threw his switchblade as the brunette ducked and looked shocked at seeing an infected with the blade sticking out of its eye making her look away and flinched at hearing the sound of a sword decapitating the infected human
"How the heck does he always do that?" asked the female as the male could only shrug in turn as he pulled the switchblade out "It's like he has a sixth sense or something that alerts him"
The brunette turned back and looked in awe as she saw the teen slowly come to a stop before her and kneeling down to check on her brother. She watched in apprehension as he reached out towards where her brother had been stabbed by the infected Scyther and was worried his turn now
"It's fine, your brother won't be turning into one of them anytime soon. He's lucky it was a stab and not a bite. Mostly Pokemon and humans only turn unless bitten, but a few possess the ability to turn others with a single touch. That Scyther wasn't one of them" Ash informed her as she relaxed and was thankful
Her brother was all she had left. There parents had probably died after telling them to run and not look back. They hadn't been lucky, living in Cerulean City and hiding the entire time, waiting for a chance to escape. When they finally had one, there parents had stayed behind in order for them to escape
"Thank you. My name's Hinami and this is my older brother Seiji. You're Ash, right? That girl over there yelled out your name" she introduced after thanking him for his help
The female rolled her eyes at the glare sent her way "His name's Ash Ketchum. My name's Violet Jones and this here is Azrael-"
"More commonly known as the Grim Reaper!" Azrael jumped in as Hinami giggled at Violet's face after being interrupted "It's nice to meet you both"
"How is it possible there are still non infected roaming around? Both you and Ash were in another region before deciding to come back. I was running for who knows how longer and never once encountered anyone else" Violet said with a sigh as she watched Ash doing something to Seiji
"Story time later, we're out in the open and while there might not be any infected at the moment... we still shouldn't allow ourselves to be seen" Ash said, getting onto his feet as he helped Seiji back onto his feet and seemed to look better than before and was looking at Ash with a slight hint of fascination
"I won't ask what you did to make me feel better, but like Hinami said... thank you for the save" he says as Ash shakes his head before Seiji moves closer towards him and whispers something, making Ash's eyes widen before nodding his head
Violet and Azrael shared a look, wondering what that was all about. Still the group decided to follow Ash's advice as they started moving out
That night, Lavender Town
The group had found themselves in the entrance to none other than Lavender Town. Anyone who was anyone knew about the terrifying history of this place. The well-known Pokemon Tower was said to be a burial ground for any deceased Pokemon. Not to mention the rumors about the place being haunted
"Why are we here of all places? I don't want to be haunted by ghosts for stepping into their territory" Violet says in a slightly scared tone
"Nothing is going to hurt you. Those are just stories meant to scare everyone. Besides have you seen any infected here? I bet they are just as scared as you and don't want to come near this place" Ash tells her as Violet hopes he's right since he had a point on not being any infected here in Lavender Town
With nothing else said, the group started setting up camp inside the haunting tower. Azrael and Seiji got to work on starting a fire, while both Violet and Hinami were tasked to go into town with Ash to get some food. Neither wanting to go alone and as such Ash was stuck with the task
The trio were walking around, Ash at the front as Hinami and Violet were grabbing onto his poncho tightly "There isn't anything scary here in Lavender Town. I came here when I first started my Pokemon journey and nothing creepy or scary happened" Ash tells them, deciding not to actually mention the truth about the ghost trio who'd technically kidnapped him and Pikachu. Ya he tells them that and he's sure to have two even more freaked out girls
The temperature around them suddenly seemed to begin dropping as Violet shivered, her bare arms cold while Hinami and Ash didn't seem to take notice of this. She shook the thought of it being a ghost from her mind and continued walking. She can't be scared! An infected almost killed her, ghosts shouldn't scare her
Feeling something touch her, Violet turned around only to see nothing as she heard laughter coming from beside her... yet there was nothing again. Violet started to get creeped out now. Ash had promised there weren't any ghosts yet she was starting to think he was wrong
Hinami seemed to notice Violet no longer following them as she stopped walking, Ash also stopping after feeling her grip loosen. Both turned to see Violet's horrified expression as Hinami turned and saw what it was Violet was seeing before she too held a horrified expression
"Ash!" the two yelled out as Violet took out her Pokedex, something she hadn't done in a long time to scan the Pokemon before her "Gengar, the Shadow Pokémon. A Ghost and Poison type. Gengar can pass through dimensions and appear almost anywhere. Since Gengar absorbs any warmth around it, the temperature suddenly drops wherever it appears"
Ash cursed as he saw a Gengar floating before him with pitch black eyes. It was clear he'd become an infected and Ash was sure this was the same Gengar he'd left with Sabrina while it was still a Haunter "It's been a while. I'm sorry this happened to you... but I also know you won't want to be this way"
The infected Gengar didn't seem to recognize him and Ash knew what he needed to do "Hinami, Violet. I want you both to go hide and don't come out"
Both Hinami and Violet didn't need to be told twice as they ran around the corner and peaked to still have view of what was going to happen
It's been awhile hasn't it! So we have the introduction of Hinami from the first interlude with her older brother Seiji who has yet to die as stated before. This arc might have two more chapters and then we'll be in the present for the rest of the book. Penny, Jackson, Grey and Ollie will soon be added. Most likely in the next chapter all if not two will appear. Till next time people
