Artoria stared down at everyone in the warehouse, her eyes moving from left to right as she counted every person present. There were 102 people, but that did not matter to Artoria. She was here for one purpose: to take down Akuma Doji.
Artoria: "Akuma Doji, I have come to end the Oe Cult. Surrender now, or you will perish at my hand."
The cult members in the room turned to talk to each other about Artoria's outrageous demand. However, Tonbo was not having it.
Tonbo: "You think you can just walk in here and bark orders at us? You're just a mere familiar! A puppet used for battle! Just what gives you the right to tell us what to do?"
Artoria: "This 'mere familiar' has you pushed into a corner. What gives you the right to refuse?"
Tonbo: "Wha-? Why you little-"
Akuma: "Enough!"
Akuma stood up from his throne and glared down at Artoria.
Akuma: "We will not be surrendering. Rather, you will give yourself to us. Become my servant and fight for the grail…or we will kill you."
Artoria was a little shocked. Unlike Akachi, who didn't know anything about servants and thus underestimated her, Akuma seemed much more capable and level-headed and knew how dangerous they were…so why was he threatening to kill her now? Even if he was half-oni, didn't he know that humans were incapable of matching heroic spirits?
Artoria: "You are not in the position to make threats, Akuma Doji. If you refuse to surrender, then I will take your life right now!"
Artoria charged at Akuma, ready to strike him down.
However…
Akuma: "Don't underestimate me, Saber. It will be the last mistake you ever make. Yes, I know that I'm incapable of taking on a servant, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything I can do about it. The only way to beat you…"
Akuma's eyes started to glow.
Akuma: "...is to bring you down to my level!"
As Artoria's sword inched closer to his face, it suddenly vanished, although it was hard to tell because it was already invisible.
Artoria: "What just-"
As she contemplated what had just happened, her armor and battle dress suddenly disappeared, leaving her in only her casual clothes.
Not to be dismayed by this sudden change, she went in for a punch, only for her to hurt herself upon landing a blow to his chest.
Akuma: "Hmph! Pathetic!"
With a single swing of his arm, he knocked her away, sending her flying toward the back of the room. Artoria slowly got up. Just standing up made her muscles ache. Once she was back on her feet, she pondered her current situation. Why was she so weak? That was when she noticed something.
Artoria: "I can't activate my mana burst! This is bad! Without it, I'm not much stronger than a normal fifteen-year-old girl! Not only that, but my armor is gone as well! I'm practically defenseless!"
Akuma: "Let me guess…you thought being a servant would be enough to counter my Mystic Eyes of Nullification? Fool! My eyes disable ALL forms of mystery, including servants! Although I must admit, you are pretty strong. The average heroic spirit would have dematerialized with a single blink."
Artoria didn't know what to say. She was in complete shock about the sudden loss of her servant abilities.
Artoria: "Damn you! You won't get away with this!"
Akuma snapped his fingers, and all the cultists threw off their hoods, revealing that they were katana-wielding ninjas!
Akuma: "Actually…I think I will!"
Artoria was in trouble. She was powerless, weaponless, and outnumbered 1 to 100. What would she do next?
While this was going on, Naru continued to fight Akachi and his goons. While he was doing well, even managing to break one goon's baseball bat with a single kick, the strain of fighting so many people was beginning to weigh on him. His limbs were beginning to ache, and his blows were becoming weaker. Akachi sensed this too, joining the fight every once in a while to deliver some lucky jabs at him.
Naru eventually had enough. He grabbed one thug by the throat and slammed him on the ground. When the other thug went for the attack, he ducked down, tripped the man onto his back, grabbed his leg, and swung him into a wall. He then turned his attention to Akachi.
Naru: "Your turn, creep!"
Akachi snickered as he raised his Scarlet Wisk and charged at Naru. Akachi was not that great of a fighter, mostly relying on his mystic code to weaken his opponents before dealing the finishing blow. However, with Naru weakened, Akachi was confident he could finish him off. This confidence was misplaced.
BAM!
Naru landed a powerful punch to Akachi's jaw, knocking out a tooth in the process. He weaved through Akachi's attacks and countered the various claw strikes that were thrown at him. He eventually caught Akachi by the collar and headbutted him to the ground.
Naru: "It's over. You lost."
Naru pointed his knife at him, but Akachi just started laughing.
Akachi: "Over? Give me a break. It's only over when you kill your opponent, but you wouldn't do that, would you? No, you're too soft to go that far…and too stupid to realize that you fell right into my trap!"
Suddenly, the five unconscious thugs he had brought with him began to stand up with their eyes glowing red.
Akachi: "Restrain him!"
The six of them went on the offensive. Naru tried to push them away, but whatever kind of state they were in, they were much stronger than normal. They each restrained each one of his limbs, with the fifth one grabbing hold of his head as they forced him to his knees.
Akachi walked up to Naru and stared down at him. He lifted his claw above his head before plunging it into Naru's chest.
Akachi: "Scramble!"
Naru's body lit up like fireworks, with sparks coming out of his wounds. Naru was in agony as his magic circuits overloaded. To him, it felt like the marrow in his bones was burning, and his veins were on fire!
Once Akachi was finished shocking him, Naru collapsed on the ground, unable to move. The five henchmen holding him turned to normal and looked around, confused.
Thug #1: "What…happened?"
Thug #2: "How did we get here?"
Akachi: "That would be me. I used a special curse that allowed me to control your unconscious bodies while enhancing your strength."
Thug #3: "Why didn't you just increase our strength earlier?"
Akachi: "Because it only works when you're unconscious! Now stop complaining and help me remove his command spells!"
One of the goons held up Naru's hand while Akachi lined up his claw to Naru's wrist.
Akachi: "You know what I'm going to do once I get your command spells? I'm going to command your new servant to get your sister, kill her, and then bring her corpse back here so I can fuck her lifeless body right in front of you!"
Naru: "Akachi…once I get out of here, I will split your fucking arms in half!"
Akachi: "You can try…assuming you don't die of blood loss!"
Akachi swung his claw, ready to slice off Naru's hand, until…
?: "Yeesh! I take it back. You guys are way worse than Nambla!"
The sudden interruption caused Akachi's aim to be thrown off, only leaving a small cut on Naru's wrist. Everyone looked to see where the voice came from and saw Brook walking into the fray.
Akachi: "Eh? Who the hell are you?"
Brook: "I am the author's overly sexualized self-insert!"
Akach: "Are you mocking me? How dare you! Pointy hat!"
Pointy-hat thug: "Huh? Are you talking to me?"
Akachi: "Do you see anyone else with a pointy hat?"
Pointy-hat thug: "Um…no?"
Akachi: "Exactly! Now kill her!
Naru: "Brook! Get out of here! You can't beat these people."
Akachi: "Shut up! You! Finish it!"
The thug with the pointy hat walked over to her, wielding an axe.
Pointy-hat thug: "Hah! Too easy!"
However, before he could swing his weapon, Brook's fist crashed into his chest, breaking his ribs and stopping his heart. Everyone watching was stunned. They weren't expecting this non-mage to take down an oni-powered henchman, let alone stop his heart! The most surprised one, however, was Naru. The entire time he had known her, he had always thought of her as a dysfunctional idiot who couldn't do much. Now, after seeing what she was capable of, his opinion of her had completely changed.
Brook: "Let me tell you something. I was almost raped by your men. The only reason they managed to get me in that position was that I was caught off guard by their magecraft. Now that I know what to expect, I have nothing to fear!"
Akachi: "What are you talking about?"
Brook: "Hmm? Oh right! We never met in the previous chapters. Well, allow me to re-introduce myself."
She took off her green jacket and tossed it aside, revealing the ripped arm muscles underneath. She then cracked her knuckles, the sound creating echoes that could be heard from a mile away.
Brook: "My name is Brook Hackerman, or as I'm called in Detroit…'The Knuckleduster!'"
BAM!
Rei got knocked over for the 11th time. He was attempting to fight Riko, who was quite literally running circles around him. He continuously sped by Rei, assaulting him with attacks faster than the speed of sound. Rei had to constantly reinforce his body to stave off the damage.
Rei: "Why you little…"
Rei fired another vibration blast, which missed. Riko then came from behind and punched him in the back, knocking him face-first to the ground.
Riko: "Too slow Odakyu!"
Rei was getting frustrated. He couldn't hit Riko, his nose was broken, and now he was being insulted!
Rei: "Dammit! I need to find a way to slow down his movement!"
He got into a kneeling position and put his hands on the ground.
Riko: "Hahaha! What are you doing? It's as if you're asking me to hit you!"
He ran past Rei several times to see if he would try to attack him. Once he had confirmed that he wouldn't fight back, he went ballistic! He sped around Rei several times, landing blow after blow until his clothes started ripping and his body was covered in bruises.
However, Rei's hands continued to stay on the ground. He didn't move an inch.
Riko: "Alright, this is getting annoying. It's no fun when they don't fight back! That is why I'm going to kill you right now!"
Riko charged at Rei one final time, ready to kill him. His pace got faster and faster and faster until…
CRASH!
He suddenly fell over and smashed into the ground. As he got up, he looked to see what had tripped him and saw that his foot was stuck in a pit of grey sludge. Riko finally understood why Rei's hands were on the ground. He was using his vibration magecraft to liquefy the cement.
Rei stood over Riko, who was stuck up to his knee, and snickered.
Rei: "I can't believe that worked! I mean, who would have thought that you would just rush in without any caution? You're such a fucking dumbass!"
Riko: "Say that one more time, you bastard!"
Rei: "Baka, Baka, BAKA!"
Riko: "I'm gonna kill y-"
He tried to stand up, but he ended up tripping because his foot was still stuck.
Rei: "Correction…I'm the one who's going to punch the shit out of you!"
The rings he wore flew off his fingers and into the air.
Rei: "Expand!"
The rings widened into bracelets, and Rei punched into the air to put on each one until he had five bracelets on each arm. This was Rei's "crankout mode." In this configuration, the bracelets now focus the vibrations throughout his fists rather than just his fingers. This allows him to deal out more damage, but in exchange, it makes him unable to use projectile attacks.
Rei: "But that's not a problem since punching stuff is way more fun! ORA!"
He hit Riko in the shoulder, and the vibrations sent out of his fist and ripped apart his shoulder muscles. He then proceeded to punch Riko over…
Rei: "ORA!"
…and over…
Rei: "ORA!"
…and over…
Rei: "ORA!"
…and over again!
Rei: "ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!
Each time he punched, the vibrations from his fists tore Riko's body apart, shredding organs and turning bones to dust.
Rei: "ORA!"
He punched Riko one final time, sending him flying into the air before landing back on the concrete, broken and bloody.
Rei: "Phew! That was fun! I wonder what Naru is up to?"
Naru was currently on the ground, thinking about life while watching the scene that unfolded in front of him. Brook stood before Akachi's goons, unafraid of their greater numbers, while Akachi was simply annoyed that someone had interrupted him.
Akachi: "Kill her!"
Akachi sent his goons after Brook, determined to get rid of this annoyance. However, they were not prepared for the violence that was about to unfold upon them!
The first goon who came up to her tried to grab her, but he was swiftly caught off guard when Brook pulled out her gun and shot him in the knee. She then doubled down on the injury by kneeing and bending his leg backward.
Two more goons wielding machetes came running towards her. Brook countered by flipping her gun upside down, hitting one goon in the face, cracking his mask, sending half of his jawbone flying out of his face, and hitting the second goon in the side of the head, knocking him out.
She then pointed her gun at the last henchman, who immediately ran away, not wanting to end up like the rest of his colleagues. Naru stared in disbelief at the amount of violence Brook was capable of.
Naru: "Damn! Brook's got hands!"
Finally, she turned her attention to Akachi, who, in a panic, grabbed Naru and used him as a hostage, pointing his claw at Naru's throat.
Akachi: "S-s-stay back, or I'll cut his throat open!"
Brook walked forward.
Akachi: "Do you hear me bitch! I said back off-"
Suddenly, Naru grabbed Akachi's arm and twisted it, forcing him to let him go.
Akachi: "W-what? How did you recover so quickly? I overloaded your magic circuits! You shouldn't be able to move!"
Naru: "What can I say? I'm built different!"
Naru turned around and headbutted Akachi, sending him stumbling backward. He tried to stab Naru, but he caught his arm and pulled out his knife.
Naru: "Remember what I said I would do once I got out?"
He plunged the knife into Akachi's elbow and sliced it down to his wrist and out of his hand, completely splitting Akachi's arm in half!
Akachi stumbled back, looking at the state of his arm in terror before looking back just in time to see Naru's fist flying toward his face. He was sent rolling onto the ground.
Naru: "It's over, Akachi. You lost."
Akachi: "Hahahaha! That's hilarious because you're the ones who fell for our trap! You see…Akuma Doji knows all about your plan to send Saber after him, and right now, that blonde bitch doesn't have her abilities as a servant! She's going to get torn limb from limb!"
Brook: "Yeah…I wouldn't be so sure about that!"
Akachi: "Eh? What do you mean?"
Brook: "Have you ever seen the movie Kill Bill?"
Akachi: "N-no? Why?"
Brook: "Cause if you had, then you know what happens when a girl with blonde hair goes up against a hundred people!"
Artoria stood surrounded by the many katana-wielding cult members. They were ready to pounce at the slightest order. Artoria could tell that these henchmen were of a much higher class than the common thugs that were sent outside. She had to be careful. Akuma finally spoke up.
Akuma: "This is your last chance. Turn away from those fools of the Infinite Path and join our cult. Help us fulfill our dream of spreading the word of our god!"
Artoria: "I will have to refuse. There is nothing wrong with wanting to worship your god, but violating innocent children to appease them is unforgivable!"
Akuma: "So be it. Take her out!"
One of the cultists charged at Artoria with his katana, only to be caught off guard when Artoria grabbed his arm, flipped him onto his back, and wrenched the katana out of his hand.
Cultist: "W-what? I thought her abilities were taken away-"
He didn't have time to finish his sentence when Artoria drove the sword into his throat, causing him to gargle up blood before his body went limp. Artoria examined the katana she took from him.
Artoria: "Not my weapon of choice, but it will do."
She then turned her attention to the remaining cultists.
Artoria: "Everyone, heed my words! My name is Artoria Pendragon, a saber-class servant. Don't think that simply taking away my abilities as a servant has hindered me. I am a master of the blade who has fought in multiple wars and overcome foes you've never seen. I know what you're thinking: Why did she tell us her true name? Isn't that supposed to be a secret? Yes, it is. The reason I'm telling you…"
She brought the sword up in a combative stance.
Artoria: "...is because none of you will be leaving here alive!"
