The next morning, Chase and Skye were getting ready to find out about their pregnancy and Kylo was getting ready for school. He still felt uneasy about the whole control thing. He trusted Luna, but the fact that she had so much power over him worried him. He wasn't sure if he liked the idea of not having his own free will.
Chase called Ahri to come watch the triplets for a little bit so he could go with Skye. Ahri arrived promptly, her calm demeanor instantly putting the triplets at ease. "Good luck, you two," she said, as Chase and Skye left.
Kylo grabbed his backpack and took a deep breath.
He felt like today was going to be different, knowing everything Wild said. He already felt like he was not in control, Luna's voice in his head was a simple reminder of that. He couldn't hear anyone else's thoughts, just hers. Kylo hoped that she didn't push him too far; he didn't want to be a wolf forever.
The bus ride to school was uneventful, but Kylo's mind was racing. He stared out the window, trying to make sense of his tangled thoughts. The sky was a dull gray, matching his mood. By the time he arrived at school, he had resolved to talk to Luna. He needed answers.
As he walked through the crowded halls, he saw Luna standing by his locker, her eyes fixed on him. She was waiting for him, and he knew there was no backing out now.
Kylo knew his half ultima alpha side was to blame, maybe it was his young age but right now he felt like Luna held all the power to his wolf. And he wasn't sure about it, it made him feel weak.
Taking a deep breath, he approached her. "Luna, we need to talk," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.
Luna tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable. "Alright, let's talk. What's on your mind?"
Kylo's heart pounded in his chest as he gathered his thoughts. "I am worried, I get you're my friend and that we have this insanely strong connection, but I am worried you are going to manipulate me. That you are going to make me lose my own free will. My wolf wants to do everything you ask, but it scares me, Luna." His voice trembled slightly, betraying the fear he tried so hard to keep in check.
Luna's face softened, and she stepped closer to him. "Kylo, I would never want you to feel that way. I promise, I don't want to control you. I'm here to help you control your wolf, not take over your life." Her eyes seemed to reflect genuine concern.
"But why can I only hear your thoughts? Why not anyone else's?" Kylo asked, desperately seeking clarity.
"I don't fully understand it myself," Luna admitted. "But I think it's because our bond is unique. It's not about control, it's about connection. We share something powerful, and I want to make sure it helps you, not hinders you."
Kylo searched her eyes for any sign of deception, but found none. He took a deep breath, feeling slightly reassured. "Okay, Luna. I'll try to trust you. But please, don't abuse this power."
Luna nodded, her expression resolute. "I won't, Kylo. I promise."
As they stood there, the noise of the bustling school faded into the background, leaving only the two of them and the silent promise that hung in the air.
Meanwhile, Chase and Skye made their way to see Katie. She was performing an ultrasound to determine how many babies Skye was carrying and how far along she was in her pregnancy. Skye lay back as Katie prepared the equipment, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. She hoped she had a few more weeks left before the babies were born. After all, she had only been carrying them for 6 weeks, and it was still hard for her to fully feel pregnant.
Katie moved the probe gently over Skye's abdomen, and the room filled with the soft, rhythmic sound of tiny heartbeats. "There they are," Katie said with a warm smile, pointing to the screen. "It looks like you're carrying three little ones."
"Another 3!" Skye said, looking annoyed at Chase. Kylo and her first set of triplets were hard enough and now she was having 3 more. She sighed, "How much time do I have before they are born?" she asked.
Katie's voice was calm and soothing as she responded, "You're a month into your pregnancy, so you have maybe a month and a half left. Would you like to know the genders?"
"No," both Chase and Skye said together, their voices firm but filled with anticipation. They wanted these three to be a surprise.
Katie nodded, respecting their wishes. "Alright then, a surprise it will be," she responded with a smile, continuing to examine the images on the screen. "Everything looks good. You're progressing well."
Skye exhaled in relief, squeezing Chase's hand. He leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. "We can do this," he whispered, his eyes shining with determination and love.
As they left the clinic, the reality of their growing family settled in. The road ahead would be challenging, but together, they knew they could face anything.
Skye went home to relieve Ahri for the triplets while Chase headed to work. Ahri greeted Skye with a tired smile, grateful for the break. "They've been good," she said, "but they missed you." Skye smiled, her heart swelling with affection as she scooped up one of the four-year-olds into her arms. "Thank you, Ahri. I appreciate your help so much."
"You seem sad, Skye. Is everything okay?" Ahri asked as Selene, Taliyah, and Kato all ran off to play more.
Skye sighed, "I am going to have 3 more and the idea of it is exhausting. Kylo's struggling with the whole Luna thing. Taliyah and Selene are a handful, and Kato hates that he doesn't turn into a wolf yet. Chase is working a lot and I just feel like 3 more babies are going to break me."
Ahri gave Skye a sympathetic hug. "Oh man, three more. I guess being a wolf makes you very fertile," she said with a soft chuckle. "But remember, Zuma and I are here for you. I know Leah and Rocky would be too. Your friends will help you out, Skye. Don't bottle all this up."
Skye smiled weakly at the reassurance. "Thank you, Ahri. It means a lot to know you guys are here for us. Sometimes it just feels overwhelming."
"We'll get through this together," Ahri said, her voice filled with determination. "You're not alone."
With that, they both turned their attention to the children, who were now fully immersed in their play. Skye felt a small but growing sense of hope. She knew that with the support of her friends and family, she could face the challenges ahead.
Back at school, Kylo was trying to focus on the teacher, but of course, he was being bullied once again. This time by someone new, he just didn't understand why everyone teased him. His wolf wanted to react, to show them that he was not to be trifled with, but Kylo knew better than to let his emotions take over. He clenched his fists under the desk, breathing deeply to calm himself.
The new bully, a boy named Silas, had a mean streak that Kylo hadn't encountered before. "Why so quiet, Kylo? Cat got your tongue?" Silas sneered, his friends laughing behind him. Kylo tried to ignore him, focusing on the equations on the board, but the words stung.
"Leave me alone, Silas," Kylo finally muttered, hoping it would end there. But Silas wasn't done. "Or what? Gonna cry to your mommy?"
The classroom buzzed with low murmurs, and the teacher hadn't yet noticed the exchange. Kylo's wolf bristled, a growl threatening to escape his throat.
He was close to losing control when he heard Luna in his head, "Breathe, Kylo, the bell is going to ring soon and I will come to you. Just breathe." The calm, soothing voice of Luna helped him regain his composure. Kylo focused on his breath, counting each inhale and exhale, allowing the tension to ebb away.
The bell finally rang, signaling the end of class. Kylo gathered his things, his heart still racing but relief washing over him.
Silas was not done yet though, and he followed Kylo out of the classroom, a cruel smirk on his face. "Hey, Kylo, where do you think you're going? Running away already?" Silas taunted, his voice dripping with mockery.
Kylo felt his heart pound harder, but he remembered Luna's voice and continued to count his breaths, trying to keep his wolf at bay. He walked briskly down the hall, ignoring the jeers that echoed behind him.
Silas's friends flanked him, creating a wall that blocked Kylo's path. "What's the matter, Kylo? Scared?" one of them sneered.
Kylo clenched his jaw, his eyes darting around for an escape route. Just then, Luna appeared at the end of the hallway, her presence a beacon of calm. She locked eyes with Kylo, giving him a reassuring nod.
"Back off, Silas," Luna said, her voice steady and commanding. "Or you'll have to deal with me."
Silas's eyes narrowed as he took a step closer to Luna, the mocking smirk never leaving his face. He chuckled darkly, the sound echoing through the hallway. "I am not afraid of you, Luna," Silas laughed, his voice dripping with defiance and thinly-veiled threat.
"You should be afraid of Kylo though," she said, her voice carrying an edge that made Silas pause.
Kylo looked at her, confusion and curiosity swirling in his eyes. What was she going to make him do? Luna's gaze never wavered as she stepped closer to Silas, her confidence radiating like a force field.
"Kylo has more strength in him than you can imagine," Luna continued, her tone unwavering. "And if you push him too far, you won't like the consequences."
The hallway fell into an uneasy silence, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife. Silas's friends shifted nervously, clearly unsettled by Luna's words and the fierce determination in her eyes.
Silas sneered, his bravado bolstered by the uneasy silence. "Right, you know I am beginning to think it's all lies. No one has actually seen him turn into a wolf," Silas said, his voice dripping with skepticism.
"Luna, please," Kylo begged, his voice a mix of desperation and fear. He didn't want to lose control, to let the wolf within him take over. But Luna's influence over him was stronger than his own will.
"It doesn't matter what you think, Silas," Luna said, ignoring Kylo's plea. "What matters is that you understand what Kylo is capable of."
She held her gaze on Silas, her eyes blazing with an intensity that left no room for doubt. Silas's smirk faltered, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his face.
"Just stop," Kylo whispered, his voice breaking. But it was Luna who held the reins, not him.
"Ha! Look at him, he is pathetic," Silas taunted. "Scared of your own wolf, Kylo?" His words were laced with derision, and they echoed loudly as a crowd began to gather around them.
The sea of onlookers grew, their murmurs and whispers adding to the tension that already filled the hallway. Kylo's heart pounded in his chest, his fear palpable while Luna's grip on his strength remained unyielding.
"Stop provoking him, Silas," Luna's voice cut through the crowd like a knife, but Silas was unrelenting. His sneer widened, enjoying the spectacle he had created.
"Or what, Luna?" Silas taunted, oblivious to the power Luna had over Kylo. His arrogance blinded him to the danger he was courting. He was playing with fire, and Luna's patience was wearing thin.
Kylo knew it was only a matter of time. Luna was going to make him do something—the very thing he was terrified of in the first place. He knew he would not have a choice either.
"Last warning, Silas," Luna said as Cameron approached. "Luna, don't," he said, knowing how this would affect Kylo.
Silas was not afraid, and he was not going to back down. He stepped forward, his eyes locked on Luna's, challenging her authority with every ounce of his being.
"Do your worst, Luna," he sneered, his tone dripping with defiance. "Let's see what your precious Kylo can really do."
The crowd's murmurs grew louder, eyes widening in anticipation of the impending clash. Cameron's hand tightened around Luna's arm, his knuckles white with tension.
"Luna, please," Cameron urged again, his voice low and urgent. "Think of Kylo."
But Luna's resolve was unshaken. Her grip on Kylo's strength tightened, her determination unwavering. She knew what was at stake, and she wouldn't let Silas's arrogance go unchecked.
"Enough," Luna said, her voice echoing with finality. The air crackled with energy, the tension reaching its breaking point.
Kylo's eyes flickered, a desperate plea for mercy, but it was too late. Luna's power surged through him, and he could feel the wolf within him rising to the surface, ready to be unleashed.
Luna turned to Kylo, seeing the crowd gathered closely, their eyes fixed on the unfolding drama. Her resolve hardened as she spoke firmly, "Shift, Kylo." She needed to show Silas who he was truly messing with, to put an end to his bullying once and for all.
Kylo knew he couldn't fight her; she told him to do something and he was obligated to do it. The power she wielded over him was absolute, binding him to her will with an unbreakable chain.
Kylo shifted, his wolf now standing before them, and he was angry. His fur bristled, and his eyes glowed with a feral intensity that sent a shiver down the onlookers' spines. Snarls rumbled deep in his throat, a clear warning to anyone who dared to challenge him.
The sheer force of Kylo's transformation was palpable, sending a wave of astonishment through the crowd. Silas's confident sneer faltered, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty. It was one thing to challenge Luna, but facing the unleashed fury of Kylo's wolf was an entirely different matter.
Kylo's growls grew louder, reverberating through the tense air, a primal sound that spoke of raw power and unyielding ferocity. The audience could feel the intensity of his emotions, the rage that had been stoked by Luna's command now burning brightly within him.
