"Raph, come on. We want to see." Leo whined impatiently.
"Hold on! You can't rush fashion." Raph shouted til the clink of the curtain sliding against the pole revealed Raph in a maroon suit, pink undershirt and matching shoes. The glare of the lights flashed on his sunglasses while upbeat 80s synth music played on a stereo in the background behind them.
Kara had to cover her mouth to keep herself from laughing, sitting on the arm of the couch next to Mikey while the brothers inspected their older brother's get-up.
"Be honest." Raph smiled confidently.
"I love it." Leo said.
"Yeah, I'm just not 'in' love with it, you know." Donnie added, Raph's smile dropping.
"Ugh. I'm a disaster." Raph cried softly, placing his hand to his cheek.
"Raph, it's ok. You look fine."
"Yeah, red is definitely your color." Mikey and Kara encouraged.
"Fine? Fine is not an option. For this event, Raph needs to look great!"
"Though there is such a thing as too much. You need to try other colors. Hmm. You look more like a Spring to me." She rubbed her chin in thought.
"Don't worry, big brother, there's more where that came from." Both Leo and Donnie held up more outfits, this bringing back Raph's smile.
One by one he tried different outfits from a delinquent bad boy with a shirt that had the sleeves ripped off, torn pants, a belt that had a gold buckle with a skull and rubies on it, and spiked, leather wristbands.
Everyone simultaneously shook their heads, though Kara was writing down in a notebook the outfit and comments on it.
Next was an outfit that could only be describes as an elderly man on a date. Definite no on that one from everyone, but Kara liked how the faded colors worked with his skin tone, scribbling that down.
Third, a purple tracksuit 80s designed with neon colored lightning shape going from the left shoulder down to the waist. More nos.
At last, Raph stood confidently wearing an all-white suit, faded pin shirt underneath with a low V-neck. Everyone was in agreement, clapping and starry-eyed.
"You guys really like it?" Raph asked, pulling slightly on the undershirt.
"Does this place have smoke detectors, cause you're on fire, big daddy!" Leo had his arm around Donnie, who had thumbs up all the way.
"Couldn't agree more. The white makes you stand out more." Kara walked over, inspecting his outfit noticing the rips and tears not only where his shell was but where his muscles were too. "Hmm...I knew he was big but does this place not have anything that would fit comfortably for him?" She was staring intently at his arms not noticing the pained, worried expressions on the brother's faces.
"Ok, guys, let's roll." Raph pointed towards the exit while Kara moved back to the others, "Are you guys not going to get anything?" She asked looking back at all the racks of clothes and rubbed her wings nervously that lay comfortably over her figure.
"Hold on." Leo said, something catching his eye. He rummaged through a rack, everyone behind him, when he lifted up a pink shirt with the word, 'Brand.' on it. "How could I say no to this?"
"You. Can't." Raph answered, both of them sharing the same giddy expression, before it was Leo's turn to try on different outfits, the first one of the shirt with tennis shorts and gear. The smug look on his face made Kara chuckle but it was a hard no for them all.
Next, Leo slid out wearing an oversized button up shirt, white socks, and using a candlestick. This got the boys to laugh while Kara covered her face, shaking her head.
Another outfit but this one was more western, a long, tan coat with frills over the breast area, grey long-sleeved shirt and matching dark grey vest, vertical striped faded grey pants, and a blue bandana around his neck with a dirty brown cowboy hate.
Kara and Donnie were in agreement, she clapping and Donnie cheering, but Mikey and Raph weren't into it. She gently nudges Donnie, now sitting next to him, and asked, "Is it gonna be your turn? Wonder what you would consider fashionable."
"Ha! I'm not just a genius and the world's best dancer but I'm also fabulous~" He sung while leaning backwards.
This got her to giggle and turned to her side, "What do you think, Drag-huh.." She looked down realizing Alastair wasn't on her person. "Strange. I never leave home without her.."
"Holy truffle mac and cheese."
She blinked out of her thoughts to see Leo wearing a faded black tank top, torn and dirtied jeans, a black belt, and a brown flight jacket with fluff around the collar. She quickly scribbled the details down, everyone in agreement that this was the one.
"Alright, Angelo, you're up." Donnie said while Raph patted his younger brother's head.
"I'm good. I really don't want to-" With the music blasting in the background Mikey appeared out of the dressing room wearing a tucked in, rolled up sleeved dress shirt, black pants with a belt, and a light grey fedora tucked over one eye. Kara was in awe at how serious and sophisticated he looked, clapping excitedly while scribbling as fast as she could even though his brothers were all in agreement for a no.
Next, an orange, striped tennis outfit with the racket to complete the look. Everyone agreed on a no.
Last was a tucked in black tank top, high waisted red pants, and a paint sploshed black varsity jacket with a medallion for bling and red sunglasses. "Wait. Why did I just change? What are we even dressing up for?" Mikey was in confusion, the glasses dropping from his head as he tried to recollect the events that led up to this.
"We were on our way..er-we walked over..Um, we need clothes?" Raph and Leo didn't seem to have a clear answer.
"You guys don't normally wear clothes, though." Kara commented remembering the only time they ever wore clothes was at the restaurant when they were playing waiters and.."Are you guys naked?" She asked in a low whisper, a look of pure horror on her face.
Not hearing her question, "Yeah, what's wrong with how we normally look?" Mikey asked with a shrug.
"You guys invited me to a show." Kara stated, she closing her eyes to recall this morning's events.
Kara was sparing with Brilliance, using Alastair, Dragan guiding her on her steps and positions when she heard her phone going off. Calling a time out she stepped aside and answered the phone, the guys crowding around the phone to see her. "Hey, guys, what's up?" She asked out of breath. She blinked when they all started talking at once and avoiding eye contact and raised a brow at their behavior. "Guys, I can't understand you speaking all at once. One of you talk." Brilliance threw her a towel and caught it, wiping the sweat off her face.
"Let me." Leo shoved everyone out of the way, though was struggling against Donnie, til he managed to overpower him. "Hey, buddy." He said softly as if talking to a child, "I scored five tickets to the Magic Town House and was wondering if you'd like to join us. You know, get out of the house, get your mind off things, and just have fun."
"That's oddly vague but sure, what is it?" She sat down while draping the towel over her shoulder.
"M. T. H. Magic Town House is having their annual night of a million secrets, and this year they're unveiling Houdini's secret journals!" Leo practically squeed over the phone.
"Sounds like a museum for magic an magicians." Dragan popped out from the sword, looking into the phone at Leo.
"You're correct as you are beautiful, Dragan." Leo winked at Dragan making her giggle and Kara smile.
"Having never seen Leo this excited to see a book, it must be something. Or it'll be stupid and we can make fun of him." Raph said when he moved the phone to him. "Either way, win-win."
"Sounds like a plan. You ok with that, Bri?" Kara turned to talk to Brilliance showing off her scar on her cheek, this causing Leo and the others to flinch and look sad. Dragan raised a brow at the sudden mood change, blinking when they were back to normal when Kara looked back at them, "Sure, ok, give me an hour and I'll be on my way." She hung up the phone before heading inside, "Oh, shoot, I forgot to ask the dress-code."
"I'm sure we can manage."
"Of course. How could I forget about the Magic Town House?" Leo looked at his ticket. "We must be getting ready for it?" Raph questioned, unsure.
Kara read the back of hers, "Looks like the outfits you guys are picking aren't going to work."
"You're right. This is all wrong. If we're going to a magic show, it must meaaaannn..."
"BLACK TIE!' All the boys shouted in pure excitement, Kara laughing at them and their excitement.
She sat in the middle of the couch watching them dress and put on a show, not only impressed with how good they looked but the fun they were having. Finally picking an outfit they each wore a tie matching their masks except for Donnie who decided to leave the top button undone. She quickly took a picture when they posed and clapped, "You guys look amazing!"
"I couldn't agree more, madame, but we seem to be missing something." Donnie nodded while strutting over and gently taking her hand.
"Oh yeah? What is that?" She asked looking over his outfit trying to figure out what he's missing, mentally checking off his wardrobe when she was lifted from her seat and spun in the direction of the women's clothing, "Your outfit, of course." He said, planting his hands on her shoulders to stop her from spinning.
"Yeah, we can't have all the fun." Mikey nodded, popping up beside her.
"As you can see, we know a thing or two about fashion so don't get too discouraged." Leo was on the other side of her giving her a wink.
"We know the dress code so don't feel rushed in trying anything." Raph added he behind all of them.
"R-Right. I also need to dress the part." With trembling hands she reached up to the rack of clothes and let in a deep breath, "Ok, I can do this." She whispered before grabbing the first dress she saw, a plain black sleeveless and backless dress. She slowly walked to the dressing room and changed into it. She inspected herself first, the dress tight around her curves and reaching slightly above her knees but what made it uncomfortable was how it rubbed against her lower armpits, having to roll them to adjust the dress. "It's only for a couple hours. I can manage. This is about them having a good time." She sighed before walking out with her best smile but blinked when they immediately shook their heads no, "Wha-"
"Girl, we can tell you don't like the dress." Mikey said crossing his arms and looking at her with a pout and raised brow.
"You look uncomfortable." Raph agreed with a worried look.
"We're not going to have a good time if you're uncomfortable." Leo placed his hand on her shoulder making her sigh in defeat. "Yeah, you're right. I just didn't want to make a big fuss." She rubbed her arms knowing they're trying to help and is only making things difficult with her extra arms and wings.
"Here, Kara, I found a dress that meet the specifications you need." Donnie held out a black dress that resembled a ballerina outfit. She blinked in surprise and took it. "Thanks, Donnie. It looks nice." She took it back to the dressing room and changed into it, able to slip it on easily with the straps visible past her floof. She wasn't able to do a full spin but smiled, rubbing her fingers on the edge of the skirt, "Comfortable, breathable, they really do know what they're doing." She walked out a little more confident and gave them a spin as they cheered, her smile getting bigger and more giddy, her cheeks turning pink. "Thanks, guys. You're too much." She cupped her cheeks, they starting to feel sore from smiling too much when Donnie moved to her side and placed his hand around her waist, "Woo-wee, we look good lady and gentlemen. I need to archive this for my archives." He pulled her close while bringing his phone out for a selfie, the others gathering behind them and posing when Donnie noticed something, "Wait, what the.." He pulled up the previous photos and all of them were already wearing their outfits, having matching colored masquerade masks, and they were browsing the Magic Town House, having a good time. "Huh, that's weird."
"Wait, what, is that the Magic-How did we? When did we go to the Magic Town House?" Leo shoved himself between Donnie and Kara to look at the photos, Donnie not too thrilled at this and smacked Leo in the face with a flipflop. "I don't know. I don't even remember taking these."
"Wait a minute." She took the phone from his hands, scrolling through them and found one of her with Leo wearing a cape and hat from the giftshop, she wearing a similar one but Alastair was strapped to her hip and she was human, "Dragan. She's in the photo but not with us-and-and me?! What's going on?"
"Ok, everyone, say, "Magic is just an illusion, science is superior."" Donnie said into the camera, Kara having to climb Raph's back and hug from behind to get in the photo, she wearing an aqua mask. All smiles as he took the photo, Mikey helping Kara from Raph's back, she in her human form and stumbled into Mikey not used to wearing high heels yet. She wore a black vintage dress, a thick collar, undersleeves, and aquamarine gloves that reached past her elbow. "Thanks, Mikey." She adjusted her knee length skirt and smiled at herself seeing no rips or tears on her dress or aqua stockings. "Not a problem, Kara." Mikey beamed before they walked over to Donnie to inspect the photo.
"Alright, that's a great one of me." Donnie said, smiling ear to ear, mainly focused on Kara to see a genuine smile.
"Still a skeptic, I see, Donatello." Dragan said from within the sword, not making herself known with all the eyes in the room.
"Ahh." He shouted, startled, but quickly composed himself by clearing his throats. "I've learned my ways, but science will always be number one, and superior, in my book." He mumbled part of his sentence into his fist making her roll her eyes inside the sword.
"Thanks again for inviting us. I'm sure the tickets cost a pretty penny." Kara crossed her arms watching Leo run around like a child in a playground. She sighed softly at his excitement; it having been so long since she felt that way. She turned her head to the side as distant memories came to mind.
"Oh, man. I can't believe we're here! I got to record the grand opening." Leo said, bringing her back to now and walked up next to Mikey to watch the show, Mikey waving to the camera, til Leo noticed something in the background. "Hypno?" Leo zoomed the camera, Mikey and Kara following where he's pointing to see Hypno sneaking into a different room.
"What's that creep doing sneaking around here?" Raph asked.
"Maybe he's a fan of The Magic Town House? I remember his schtick is magic." Kara answered, all of them looking where he had snuck off to. "From what Kara has shared wi me, he has hypnotic powers, given his name after aw."
"Oh, no. You don't think he's after Houdini's journals?"
"Uh, would that be bad?" Mikey asked Leo.
"Yes! Think about it. Houdini was one of the greatest illusionists in history. If Hypno got his hands on those techniques, he'd be able to warp the very fabric of existence or something even cooler."
"I thought illusionists were just that, illusions." Kara shrugged her shoulders not seeing how dire the situation was.
Granted, illusionists are some o' the lower tier magicians, thay are still magicians. An if he were tae combine his ability wi that o' Houdini then he could become a much larger threat than he is now."
"Not with the Mag Dogs in the house!" Raph shouted, "Come on, guys. Let's smash a hippo in half."
"Or, you know, cut him, since I have Alastair. Just to keep with the theme?" She used her arm to make a slicing motion right down the middle.
"Tone it down, Kara." Raph said, the memory fading back to now.
"What? We've already gone to the Magic Town House? And Hypno was there? But how did we end up here?" Leo was full of questions, the confusion worrying him to the point of needing to sit down.
"And where did he hide Alastair?" Kara added in.
"Wait, if we were going to fight Hypno-"
"Then we're WAY TOO dressed up." Donnie cut off Mikey's thinking, "Business cas is way more appropriate." He ripped off Mikey's full outfit, Kara immediately covering her eyes. He was beginning to undress when Raph intervened by slapping him across the face with a flipflop, "NO! No one try on anymore clothes. None of this makes sense. What happened to Hypno?" Kara's antenna twitched when she heard the smack and peeked to see Donnie in a daze and wondered if she should snap him out of it but honestly, their situation was more important. She wandered away from them while they brainstormed. She closed her eyes and concentrated but it was hard for her to focus with the music playing, even if it was a catchy tune, but it wasn't to her taste.
"What happened when we went searching for Hypno?"
Raph and Leo were knocking and feeling the walls and framed art while Kara was opening doors, "Man, this place is a maze. Where did he go?"
"It's a magic town house. Ooh! I bet he used a secret door."
"Ah, trickery, the science of cowards." Donnie added, not bothering to help them.
"Do you think you can use your ghostly form to find out where he's hiding?" Kara asked Dragan, she appearing to them all and shook her head, "I cannot, I'm afraid. Wi ma soul bein' bound tae the sword I'm unable tae part from it, even for a moment."
"No worries. I'm sure we can find him before he starts any of his dastardly deeds." She opened another door and saw someone changing for the final act and both froze as they stared at one another, the person's pants dropping to their ankles. She immediately slammed the door shut and stared down at the ground in horror, "He's not in there." She blinked hearing the whoosh of someone passing behind them and turned around, the others feeling a presence.
"Did you guys hear something?" Mikey asked, getting scared to the point of tears when the wall on his right opened up to reveal a hidden passageway.
"Woo! I told you! Is this where they keep all the doves?" Leo enthusiastically searched and did a pigeon coo. She moved next to him to look down deeper but saw nothing but darkness, forgetting her eyesight isn't as great as her mutant ones. "How many floors does it reach down to?" She muttered while the brothers piled their heads on top of each other.
"Guys, come on. Stop goofing around. We gotta be careful." Raph joined them just as Kara was about to take the first step. "Ladies first, I guess." She said while lifting her leg up but gasped, feeling the hairs on the back of her neck stand. A shadow loomed over them all and when they turned around Hypno was towering behind them and-
"That's it. This must be some kind of Hypno trap." Raph concluded. "Unless." He pinched Mikey a little too hard to the point of tears, Ok, it's not a dream."
"It would be pretty weird for me to be dreaming of something like this." Kara muttered, her cheeks flaring at the thought and lowered her antenna over her eyes in embarrassment.
"Huh magic trap. I have to say, love the magic, so-so on the trap." Leo critiqued.
"Ok, let's get out of here. I'm sure if we all work together-Donnie, would you focus?!"
Everyone turned to Donnie to see him grooving to the music, Kara was impressed with his moves. "Sorry. You know if an 80s jam is on the rhythm's gonna get me."
"Wait! That's it! We're stuck in an 80s movie makeover montage!" Mikey said excitedly.
"But what does this have to do with the Magic Town House?" Kara asked, accidentally bumping the stand that had the stereo on it, and it caused her to touch her head, feeling a slight ping of pain, "What the?"
"How do we get out?" Raph rubbed the back of his head not knowing what to do.
"What do they do in the movies?" Leo pondered aloud.
Donnie had his intense thinking face on when the perfect answer came to him, "They find that perfect outfit. You know the one I'm talking about! The one that just pops and says, "You might've thought of me some country bumpkin, but now with my hair down, I'm awesome!"" He posed with each part of his sentence, and she wasn't sure if he was giving them an answer to help or just to continue trying on clothes. Either way, she wouldn't mind them being her muse, quickly snapping a photo of him in his outfit.
"This is all wrong. At the end of the movie the hero realizes that it's not about the clothes, but that they are perfect as they are." Mikey said gently, smiling at the end.
"Oh. So, you're saying.." Leo hesitated with a raised brow.
"I'm saying we're perfect as we are! Embrace the turtle, baby!"
Kara quickly snapped another photo as they posed in their normal, bare selves and clapped happily at their resolve. "And now cue the heroes breaking the spell."
Not even a second later they were back to trying on clothes, posing, and dancing to the music, their last outfits similar to 90s rebel and gangsters.
Leo in all blue, a long sleeved shirt, ripped jean vest, and dark blue jeans with a baseball cap turned backwards.
Mikey in a white and faded orange varsity jacket, gray shirt, and pants.
Raph in a faded red, low v-neck shirt, black leather jacket that had a unclipped belt around the waist, and black jeans.
Donnie wearing a white, low v-neck tank top, high waisted jeans that were ripped at the knee, and a tight belt around his waist, a black beanie over his mask with a spiked cuff.
Instead of joining them, due to lack of clothes that worked with her physique, she took photos of them while simultaneously writing down every description of them. "You guys are rocking this!" She blinked when she realized she was too into the fashion show and that their original plan hadn't worked. She wasn't the only one.
"What the-It didn't work." Raph said.
"Uh, we must be missing something." Mikey added.
"Like what? Donnie, you got any ideas?"
"Here's an idea: less talkie-talk and more groovy-groove." Donnie was clearly vibing to the music.
"Donnie. No." Kara said, placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Oh. Wait." Leo turned to the stereo staring at it suspiciously.
All of them stared at it, Leo's eyes slowly widening in realization, their surroundings flashing from now to reality til everyone screamed, with Leo shouting, "IT'S THE SPEAKER."
"KILL IT." Everyone shouted, Leo and Mikey kicking it while Raph and Kara smashed it with different objects, Donnie cheering them on. When they had broken it in half they were brought back to reality, Kara back as her human self wearing her outfit from the photos. "Aww. I liked that other one." She pouted, crossing her arms.
"How come?" Donnie asked curiously.
"Because you picked it." She said shyly while blushing, this getting him to blush too. They weren't given time to do anything though cause Mikey shouted, "Yeah, baby, we're free!" This got everyone to laugh, she hugging him and Donnie when they all heard screaming in the room next door. Upon arriving in said room they saw an empty room with the back wall lined with shelves of books.
"Aw, man."
"Wait." Kara said, thinking she heard something when, "Help!" was heard behind the bookshelves.
"It came from back there!" Raph pointed. "There's no doors. Just books."
"Kara."
"Dragan? Are you near?" Kara walked around trying to see if she could strengthen the connection they have.
"Yes, we're in a dark room. That cheap magician stole me from ye when he realized he couldn't hypnotise ya wi me present. I am tied wi a group o' magicians. Don't worry, we are safe."
"Ok, we'll get to you soon. Sounds like Leo knows a way to find you guys."
"This is the Magic Town House. It is full of secret passages. Now watch and learn, boys." Picking a random book he used a single finger to pull it from its place on the shelf, "Viola." He said smugly, opening his eyes when he heard the book drop instead of the sound of doors opening. He looked to his brother, Donnie, who was standing next to a bust statue and pulled it, revealing the secret passage.
"Oh-ho-ho! I don't care that you're trying to steal my moment this place still rules!" Leo gave Donnie a grumpy look before excitedly running down the stairs like a child at Christmas. Exclaiming, he saw, "That's John the Kaiser! He invented the Pinky Shuffle!"
"Hello? Who's there?! Help us!" A gray haired, buck toothed magician shouted in fear.
"Ah, Sir John. Huge fan. Can I get a quick selfie?" Leo already had his camera on, putting his arm around the tied up, blindfolded man and despite his circumstances was ready to smile for his fan.
"Leo, stop! We need to find Hypno!" Raph smacked his phone away.
"Dragan!" Kara's heels clicked as she ran to the sword that was tied up with the others who also was wearing a blindfold. "I'm so glad to see you're safe." She hugged Alastair tightly before removing the blindfold. "Wait, why did he blindfold you?"
"Tsk, despite his tricks he is a clever one. When realizin' we had a connection he knew that ye would be able tae see through ma eyes an vice versa so he wrote a rune on the blindfold tae keep me from gettin' tae ya." She appeared from the sword while Kara shouted in shock that she could do that and looked to the turtles, "I am glad tae see ye unharmed though I am ashamed I was o' no use when I was needed most."
"Fear not, my beautiful spirit, the battle isn't over and when we face him head on that's when we'll need you most." Leo gave her a smirk and a wink, this causing her to smile and turn her gaze away shyly.
"Let's hope he's not long gone now. Who knows how long we were stuck in that hypnotic state." Kara tied Alastair back at her hip, making sure it was secure.
"If you're talking about that thug who smelled of water beast and amateur magician, he went into that secret vault." John Kaiser said, Kara smirking at his snide comment.
"We need to get into that vault!"
"Do you know how?" Kara asked while untying them.
"Just say the password: Patters-"
"-No, no, no, no! I don't want to know."
Kara raised a brow at Leo wondering why he didn't want to know but blinked when she didn't hear it herself due to his reaction distraction her. She sighed til a hidden passage in the ground revealed itself.
"Ok, boys, let's proceed with caution." Raph said except Leo had other thoughts.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Leo shouted, shoving his family down the deep, dark hole and diving in after them.
The girls looked at each other and laughed before jumping in after them, Kara back as a moth mutant, and using her wings to help her land safely on top of them. She hopped down when Leo sat up scoping the area with focus til he spotted Hypno rummaging through the vault.
"There he is!"
"Oh, Wellington Sunday."
"Hypno, step away from those diaries!" Raph shouted, pointing dramatically.
"Um. They're journals."
"Whatever." Raph rolled his eyes at Leo.
"I was so close. How did you get out of my ingenious fashion trap? Did you learn the power of self-love in order to break free?"
"Um. Yeah. Totally did that..." Kara muttered nervously, her eyes shifting away from everyone.
"We learned the power of smashing and smashed your stupid speaker." Raph answered, everyone in a pose.
"Get your thick digits off of those precious journals!"
"Wow, Leo really loves his magic stuff, huh?" Kara whispered to the others never seeing him this unhinged about anything.
"He had a difficult childhood." Mikey whispered.
"But you all had the same childhood." Kara raised a brow at that logic.
"You mean the journals that can give me the power to bend reality? I don't think so!"
"Wait-what-"
"Soizlehoizen!" Hypno shouted the room changing from a dark, dreary dungeon to one of lights, purple and golds, and card icons. He then disappeared through another secret door in the floor.
Another secret passage!" Leo gleamed.
"What is it with magicians and their hatred of normal doors? Come on!"
"Cowards of science." Kara said plainly.
"Gaasp! Nothing you have said has ever made me admire you more." Donnie said in awe while spinning her into his arms and dipping her, giving her a smirk. She stared up at him, her whole face feeling like it was on fire and covered her face squealing behind her hands.
"Ahem. Pardon the intrusion but thay need help findin' Hypno." Dragan pointed at the brothers who were sniffing, searching, and stomping the last place he was. They quickly got up and muttered something together before going to help. Donnie was trying to pry the door open, but it didn't take long til Raph and Leo's weight was too much, and they flipped the door over, sending them crashing to the ground.
She felt dizzy from the sudden depth perception but quickly shook it off. When she saw Hypno fleeing she woke everyone up and ran after him into the hall of mirrors. They stopped at the end where they were surrounded with not only different versions of themselves but large faces of Hypno on six of the mirrors. Everyone screamed while holding each other when the four mirrors in front of them lifted up to reveal four Hypnos who all fled in different directions, each turtle taking one with Kara following Donnie.
She was flying above while Donnie was chasing him on the ground through a hall of nothing but portraits. She let out a startled yell when Hypno would pop out of them and attack. She dodged a few of them but one managed to grab her foot and throw her to the ground. Getting to her feet she went to run after Hypno but saw Donnie getting attacked by a barrage of Hypnos so she brought out her sword and attacked them back first, slicing one in half. He let out a scream before he burst into shreds of paper confetti, the others gasping and taking a step back and she stepping forward and over Donnie protectively. "Ganging up on one opponent? You really are cowards." She flew at them with a battle cry.
"My hero." Donnie muttered, dropping his head to the ground with a groan til more came to life.
Soon, they eventually came to the same place that resembled a theater where Leo was calmly watching Hypno perform and eating a tub of popcorn. Everyone gathered behind him on each row each showing damage from their environment and injuries, scratches, and bruises. Leo chuckled weakly while shrugging his shoulders, giving them a huge toothy grin til a smack upside the head from Raph brought him back to his senses, Leo immediately hopping over the seats and heading towards Hypno, the others following suit.
Hypno let out a scream and jumped out from the box trick he was sawing himself from and fled behind the curtains leaving an unknown man inside the other box. He lifted the exit door like a curtain and ran through it. The others burst through the doors like normal and found themselves back in reality.
Raph was close to a bust of a woman, the bust slowly turning to face him, which caused him to yell out in fright and punch it away from him.
"What are you doing?! That was Venus De Magic, the Queen of Quick change!" Leo shouted, catching the bust and holding it close to him protectively.
"Sorry, uh, Miss Quick change."
"Is this where they remember the magicians who passed?" Kara walked towards them, glancing at all the stuff when the hairs on the back of her head stood, her antenna's vibrated, and her pupils shrunk. Feeling danger, she reached her Alastair and turned around to see Hypno with his circular blade out ready to strike til he did something no one could predict, he revealed himself to them all, saying, "Hold on! I'm not in the right outfit to fight you guys. This whole thing clashes. Apologies."
While he was in his head trying on different outfits and whatnot, everyone was watching him dance to the music Donnie had on speaker, pointed right at him.
"Nice thinking, Donnie." Raph smiled.
"Wait, how did you have a copy of his spell?" Mikey asked curiously.
"I record everything." Donnie answered.
"Wait, what? What else do you have recorded?" Leo turned to him with a look that could only be described as paranoid and suspicious.
"Ah, don't worry about it."
Everyone suddenly had a nervous look on their face til Raph broke the awkwardness, "Alright, let's return those journals. You got them, right, Leo?"
"Yes, right. Already returned them. Safe and sound in the vault." Leo gave a stiff thumbs up, the journals poking out of his shell. Let's go home." Leo began to waddle stiffly away with journals in tow.
"Leo, what are you doing?" Raph followed behind him, the others along.
"I wasn't going to read them. I just wanted to keep them and maybe snuggle a little bit."
"I better not see you on a wanted poster on the news tonight." Kara said closing the door behind them as they were leaving the event. When they were aways from the room they were in she suddenly froze, her hairs standing on end, eyes widening in panic, gasping as if she were being choked.
"IN THE ROOM." Dragan shouted, this causing everyone to look at them in surprise.
Hearing Dragan, they turned around to see Kara in a state they hadn't seen her since the train but before they could ask if she was ok, she bolted back to the room and shoved the door open to see it completely empty.
"What, he's gone!" Raph shouted when they caught up to her.
"How did he free himself from his own spell?" Leo asked in awe.
"With the power of self-love, baby." Mikey smiled proudly.
"Kara, are you ok?" Donnie asked seeing sweat sliding down her face, but he could tell she wasn't listening, her eyes frantically searching the room. He touched her shoulder, snapping her out of it when she gasped and turned to him. Seeing Donnie, she sighed heavily, drooping her shoulders, "I-I'm sorry, did you say something?"
"Are you ok?" He asked again.
"Yeah, you suddenly ran back here." Raph added.
"I thought I felt something. I-I'm fine now-I'm-" She dropped to her knees, holding her head, this causing everyone to run to her side. "I'm sorry, guys, could..could someone carry me? I think all the excitement drained me." She smiled weakly at them before being helped on Donnie's shell and left. She closed her eyes having a flashback of when she first touched the armor and all the darkness and dread she felt. Having felt the same energy a moment ago she began to worry but when nothing was there, she wondered if it was all in her head. God, she hoped it was.
