The next day, the Gryffindor students had arrived at Defence Against The Dark Arts. And soon, Mad-eye Moody had entered the room.

"Alaster Moody. Ex-Auror. Ministry Mon contempt. And your new defence teacher. I'm here because Dumbledore asked me. A good story. Good-bye! The End! Any questions?"

Nobody raised their hands. Moody turned his eye tords Harry and Tom and Jerry who did not say a word.

"When it comes to the dark arts, a believe a practical approach. Constant Vigilance! Now, we're going to cover, the unforgivable curses."

Harry and Ginny looked at each other. As did Neville and Luna. While Tom and Jerry's eyes went wide. The six already knew about the three curses since their first year at Hogwarts.

"How many are there and why are they so named?"

"Three sir." Said Harry. "They're named that because they are unforgivable."

"Nicely done Mr. Potter. And what happens if you use one?"

"A one way trip to Azkaban."

"Correct. Now, the ministry says you're too young to know about these curses. But I say different! You need to know what you're up against! You'll need to be prepared! Constant Vigilance! Now, which curse shale we see first? Ms. Weasley!"

"Well," Ginny said nervously. "I can talk about, the imparease curse. It takes control of the mind and the victim has no control over their free will."

"Good. Now for a demonstration."

Moody then walked to a jar and opened it. Revealing...a spider. A big one. But not as big as Aaragon or his kids.

"Imperio!"

And then, he sent it flying onto Tom's face.

"HEY!" He shouted as the spider walked all over his face. Even pulled on his left whiskers with its mouth.

"Don't worry! She's completely harmless!"

"You call this harmless?!" Tom shouted before the spider let go of his whiskers.

"Afraid of spiders little kitty?" Malfoy teased.

"What did you say?!" Moody shouted as he sent the spider onto Malfoy's face. Making all the Gryffindor students and even some Slytherin students laugh at him.

"Get it off me!" He shouted over and over.

Goyle grabbed a book to hit the spider. But Moody moved it away in time. Making Goyle hit Malfoy's face instead.

"What shale she do next? Jump out the window?"

He then sent the spider onto a magnify glass.

"Drown herself?"

He then moved the spider over a jar of water. But then gently lowered the spider onto Neville and Luna's desk.

"Scores of witches and wizards clamed that they only did You Know Who's bidding under the influence of the Impeareance Curse. But how do we sort out the lyers? Now you Longbottom. Professor Sprout tells me you are gifted for Herbology. Tell me another unforgivable curse."

"There's the crusiotus curse." Said Neville. "The victiom is given pain by however the caster preforms it."

"Good! I must warn you, this will be nasty. Crusio!"

He used the curse on the spider. Making it feel pain as it sleeked and moved all over the desk. And seeing the spider suffer from it was disturbing Neville as well as reminding him of when his parents were put under that curse by Bellatrux.

"Stop it!" Jerry shouted. "Can't you see it's bothering him?! Stop it!"

And so he did. He then grabbed the spider and then put it on Harry and Ginny's desk.

"Mr. Potter. Can you explain the last of the unforgivable curses."

"Avarda Kadavra." Said Harry.

Almost everyone looked at him.

"Avarda Kadavra. The killing curse. It separates the sole from the body. It bypasses all shield charms and there is no counter."

Moody then turned to the spider with his wand pointed at it.

"AVARDA KADAVRA!"

With a flash of green light, the spider was now dead.

"Voldemort tried to kill me with that curse."

"And yet, you are the only known person to servive this curse."

Moody then took out a bottle and then had a drink.

"What's he sipping?" Jerry asked.

"I don't know but I bet it's not pumpkin juice." Said Tom.

"Are you alright Neville?" Luna asked feeling concern for her boyfriend as soon as they were all leaving the class.

"I'm fine." He said.

"Those curses are unforgivable for a reason." Said Ginny.

"I didn't think he would actually preform them in a classroom." Said Harry.

"Sorry you had to go through all of that." Tom said patting Neville's back.

"Longbottom!" Moody's voice shouted as he walked by. "Care for a cup of tea? I have something to show you."

Neville didn't protest as he followed Moody back to the classroom.

"What did Moody want?" Harry asked as Neville rejoined them in the common room.

"He just wanted to apologize to me for preforming the Crusiotus curse in front of me. And he gave me this book too."

The book Neville had was titled, Magical Water Plants of the Mediteraiam.

"Hey you guys."

All of them turned to see Hermione approaching them with a peace of parchment on one hand and a box of contents that rattled as it shook in the other hand.

"I'm glad I found you. I have something to show you."

She then opened the box and then handed out six badges that said,

"SPEW?" Tom asked.

"It's pronounced S.P.E.W Tom. It stands for The Sesisicy for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare. I've just started it this morning."

"And how many members have you got?" Jerry asked raising an eye.

"If you six join, seven."

"And why?" Ginny asked.

"I've been researching in the library. Elf enslavement goes back centuries. I can't believe no one's done anything about it before now."

"Hermione. Don't do this." Said Luna. "The house elves like doing work."

"Our sort term aims are to secure house elves fair wages and working conditions. Our long term aims include changing the law about non wand use and trying to get an elf into The Department For athe Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Because they're shockingly underly represented."

"Forget about it Hermione." Said Tom. "They like being enslaved."

"We can start by recuting more members." Hermione said ignoring Tom.

"It's what you're doing that against the house elves will." Said Jerry. "Forget it. We're not joining S.P.E.W."

"Sorry Hermione. But this is what the elves like." Said Neville.

"And we can't do anything to change it." Said Harry.

"Fine! Have it your way!" Hermione shouted before grabbing the box and parchment and walked to the fifth year girls dormitory.
