Many days have passed and soon October had come. It was time for the older students and the guests to submit their names into The Goblet of Fire.
Everyone was gathered up in The Great Hall to see the students submit their names. As of right now, Victor Krum had walked to the goblet and put his name in. Angelina was the only Gryffindor student to submit her name into goblet since her birthday was close by. And that got Fred and George upset since their birthday isn't until much later. But they had an idea.
Just after Cedric submitted his name into The Goblet of Fire, the twins were ready.
"We did it!" They cheered.
"Did what?" Tom asked.
"We found a way to submit ourselves into the Twiwizard Tournament." Said George.
"I don't think so." Said Harry. "See that circle surrounding the goblet? It's called an age line. Dumbledore drew it himself to prevent students under 17 from getting close to the goblet."
"And that's what our ageing potion is for." Said Fred.
"This is not going to end well." Jerry said to himself.
The twins took their sip of the potion and then, they made it past the line. Almost everyone cheered seeing that the twins had made it to the goblet. And then, they put their names in.
"Yes."
But then, the flames burst onto them and they were thrown back a bit and when they landed, they now had white hair and grew beards.
"You set it!"
"You set it!"
Fred and George began to rumble as almost everyone urged them on.
"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
However, just as Fred and George were shout away from the goblet, Dumbledore and Severus had shown up and saw what had happened to them.
"There is a lesson to be learned from what just happened." Said Severus. "But I'm enjoying this scene too much to even remember what it is."
Soon after, Dumbledore brought his wand to his right cheek and shouted,
"SILINCE!"
Everyone who urged the twins to fight had stopped and turned to Dumbledore. It also got the twins to stop fighting as well.
"Fred and George Weasley. Report to Madam Ponfery at once. And I will be taking 10 points form both of you for trying to enter the tournament legally."
"Well, that went a lot better than I thought." Said Tom.
"Too bad Fred and George just cost Gryffindor more house points." Said Jerry.
Finally, Halloween night had come and everyone was gathered up in The Great Hall to see who will be selected.
"At last." Said Dumbledore. "It's now the moment you've all been waiting for. The champion selection."
Dumbledore then lowered the flames on the torches as he slowly approached the goblet holding his hand out.
Just then, the flames turned red as the first peace of parchment was shot out as Dumbledore grabbed it.
"The Dumstrang champion is, Victor Krum!"
"So there's the first champion." Said Tom. "One of the greatest seekers in the world."
Victor then made his way to the trophy room soon after. And by then, the next name had emerged from the goblet.
"The champion for Beauxbatons, is Fleur Delacor!"
"And now there goes Fleur." Said Jerry. "All that remains now is Hogwats' champion."
As soon as Fleur had went into the trophy room, the final name had emerged.
"Please be Angelina." Ron bagged. "Please be Angelina."
"The Hogwarts champion, Cedric Diggory."
"Oh no!" Ron shouted. But Harry and Tom and Jerry and Ginny and Neville and Luna cheered for Cedric.
As soon as Cedric was in the trophy room,
"Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one champion will win the Triwizard Tournament. And that champion will hoist one thousand galleons and this challis of victory. The Triwizard Cup!"
The cup was revealed on the staff table. It was glowing as well. But just as soon as the cup was revealed, The Goblet of Fire began to react again. And then before everyone knew it, a forth parchment had emerged. And as Dumbledore looked at it,
"Oh no." He said under his breath. "Harry Potter! Come here please!"
Tom and Jerry's jaws dropped to the floor as Harry eyes went wide.
"I'm really not going to have a normal year at Hogwarts am I?" He asked himself.
But without hesitating, he got up and approached Dumbledore with Tom and Jerry following behind.
"He's a cheater!" Someone shouted.
"He's not 17 yet!"
A lot of the students were shouting angrily as Dumbledore gave Harry the parchment with a worried look on his face. Even Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape were worried for him. And so was Hagrid as well.
Harry and Tom and Jerry entered the trophy room without hesitating but still worried as they aprotched Victor, Cedric, and Fleur.
"Harry. Did they need us back up?" Cedric asked.
"Someone put my name in The Goblet of Fire." Harry said as he held out the parchment.
The three of them were shocked. What Harry said made it very clear to them that he did not put his name in or ask anyone to do it for him. Who could have done it? And more importantly, how could his name have come out when there was supposed to be only one champion for each school?
Just then, voiced emerged from the stairway as teachers and the three heads of the three schools emerged. Along with Mr. Crouch and Ludo Bagman.
Dumbledore tried to keep control of himself but seeing Harry in danger once again got him angry.
"Extraordinary." Said Bagman. "Absolutely extraordinary. Gentlemen and lady, may I introduce, incredible as it seams, the forth Triwizard Champion."
However, Karkaroff was even more angry than Dumbledore was as he pulled Harry away from Bagman and pinned him on a trophy case.
"How did you put your name into The Goblet of Fire?!"
"I didn't."
"Did you ask an older student to it for you?!"
"No. I didn't."
"LIER!"
"I've known Harry to be many things." Severus said pulling Karkaroff away from Harry. "A lier isn't one of them."
"He can not compete." Said Fleur. "He is a little boy."
Poor choice of words but Harry ignored it. He can tell that Fleur was standing up for him.
"Well it is amazing." Said Bagman. Rubbing his smooth chin and smiling down at Harry. "But you know, the age restriction was only imposed this year as an extra safety mesher. And as his name has come out of the goblet, I mean I don't think there can be any docking out of this stage."
He was right and Harry knew that after doing some research about the goblet itself.
"I want to know how this happened." Karkaroff said turning to Dumbledore. "Two Hogwarts Champions. I don't remember anyone telling the host school allows two champions. Or have I not read the rules carefully enough?"
Then the door opened again and Alaster emerged from it. And he heard what Karkaroff just said.
"That is impossible!" He said.
"We were convinced that your age line would keep out younger contestants Dumbledore!" Karkaroff shouted at him. Ignoring Moddy completely. "Otherwise we would have brought along other candidates from our own schools!"
"It's not Harry's fault." Said Severus. "In my opinion, someone just entered him into the tournament to kill him."
"I was thinking the same thing." Said Jerry.
"He could not have crossed the age line or asked an older student to put his name in." Said McGonagall. "I'm sure we can all agree on that."
"Dumbledore must have made a mistake with the line." Said Madam Maxine.
"Crouch! Bagman!" Karkaroff shouted at them. "You are our objective judges! Surely you will agree this is most irregular!"
"We must follow the rules and and those rules clearly state that those whose names have come out of the goblet must compete in the tournament." Said Mr. Crouch.
"I insist on reinserting the names on the rest of my students!" Karkaroff shouted again. "You will set up The Goblet of Fire once more and we will continue adding names until each school has two champions! It's only fair Dumbledore."
"Karkaroff it doesn't work like that." Said Bagman. "The flames from the goblet just went out. It won't re-light until the start of the next tournament."
"In which Dumstrang will not be competing! After all our meetings and complimizes, I little expected something of this natior to acour! I am ready to gather my students and leave now!"
"Empty threat Karkaroff." Said Moddy. "The Goblet of Fire is a magical binding contract. If Victor doesn't compete in the tournament, he will lose his magic."
Harry knew that as well from his research. If he doesn't compete in the tournament, he'll lose his magic. A good chance the Dursley's will love that.
"I'm afraid I don't understand you Mad-eye."
"Don't you. Someone put Potter's name into that goblet knowing he'd have to compete knowing it came out. Maybe someone's hoping Potter would die for the thousand galleons."
"He wouldn't." Said Tom.
He and Jerry had known Harry for years. He hates being famous for something that cost him his parents.
"It was a skilled witch or wizard who put his name into that goblet. Because they hoodwinked a very powerful object. It would have needed an extremely powerful Confundus charm to bamboozle that goblet to forgetting that only three schools could compete in the tournament. I'm guessing they submitted Potter's name under a forth school and made sure he was the only one in there category."
"We don't know how it happened but have no choice but to accept it." Said Mr. Crouch. "Mr. Potter is, as of tonight, a Triwizard Champion."
"Mr. Crouch." Harry said to him. "I looked up the rules. They don't say anything about pets not being aloud to help champions. Do I have permission to let Tom and Jerry compete along side me?"
Everyone turned to Tom and Jerry as soon as he said that. Fortnightly, Mr. Crouch had a book containing the rules about the Triwizard Tournament as he looked at them.
"They don't say anything about pets not being aloud to assist." Said Mr. Crouch. "You have permission to let your pets compete along side you in the tournament."
"And he's aloud to have help?!" Karkaroff asked still angry. "Another good reason why Durmstrang is not competing! I would have gotten Victor to have partners with him as well if I knew this was aloud!"
"You heard what Professor Moody said." Said Severus. "Victor must stay and compete or he will lose his magic. And as we know, only pets can be aloud to assist. As the rules don't say anything about them not being aloud to assist."
Tom and Jerry sighed. It least they can be aloud to assist Harry during the tasks.
"Alright champions." Said Mr. Crouch. "The first task is designed to test your daring. So we're not going to be telling you what it is. Courage in the face of the unknown is an important quality in a wizard. Very important. The first task will take place on November 24th in front of the other students and the panel of judges. The champions are not permitted to ask for or accept help of any kind form their teachers to complete the tasks in the tournament. The champions will face the first task armed only with their wands. They will reseave information about the second task when the first is over. And to the demanding and time consooming nature of the tournament, the champions are exempted from end of year tests."
When he was finished telling the instructions, everyone left the trophy room.
Harry and Tom and Jerry rejoined Ginny and Neville and Luna as they returned to the common room. The later told Harry that they believed he didn't put his name in The Goblet of Fire which made him happy.
"Still, I wonder." Said Ginny. "How did you your name end up in The Goblet of Fire?"
"Could someone have put Harry's in as a trick? A practical joke that isn't even a laughing matter as I know?" Tom asked.
"Or maybe as we know, someone wants Harry dead." Said Luna.
She was right. Yes. Someone wanted Harry dead. Someone who had wanted Harry dead ever since he was a baby. And all of them came to the same conclusion.
Lord Voldemort.
"But how could have Voldemort gottan Harry's name into that cup?" Jerry asked as the six got to the fat lady's portrait. "As we know from Harry's dream, he was supposed to be in some far away contry. In hiding. Alone. Feeble. And powerless."
"But we're forgetting one thing." Said Neville. "Harry said that Voldemort was talking to Wormtail. Plotting Harry's murder."
Soon after, Luna turned to the fat lady and said, "Bolderdash."
The fat lady opened up the entrance to the common room. And just as they went inside,
"Hey."
Everyone turned to see Ron sitting on the arm char in front of the fireplace.
"Did you need something Ron?" Ginny asked.
"Yeah. I wanna know how he did it."
"Did what?" Harry asked.
"How did you get your name in?"
"Wait." Said Tom. "You believe Harry did put his name in The Goblet of Fire?"
"Everyone wanted to know. Someone from the portraits in the trophy room told the fat lady and everyone heard. They were going to throw Harry a party that he got in but Professor McGonagall sent them all to bed immediately. And that's perfect for me. Tell me how you did it."
"I didn't." Said Harry.
"Not even Fred and George got past the age line. What did you use?"
"Nothing." Said Jerry. "Harry didn't put his name in that goblet. Someone else did."
"Who would want to do that?"
"To kill Harry." Said Ginny.
"If he doesn't want anyone else to know then fine. I don't know why you're lying for him Ginny."
"She's not lying." Said Luna. "Harry didn't put his name in that goblet."
"A thousand galleon prize money and you don't have to do end of year tests."
"Harry did not put his name in that goblet!" Tom shouted.
"Yeah right. I'm not stupid."
"You're doing a good impression of it." Said Neville.
"Oh yeah. Ron Weasley is Harry Potter's stupid friend. That's all everyone see me as."
Ron got up and made his way to the fifth year boys dormitory. Leaving the six alone in the common room.
Dumbledore was angry and upset that Harry's life was put in jeopardy once again. Even he was hoping Harry was going to have a normal year this year. But it seems fate has other plans for him.
Dumbledore was looking in the pansieve in his office with McGonagall and Snape and Moody present as well.
"This can't go on Albus." Said McGonagall. "First the dark mark and now this?"
"What do you suggest Minerva?" Dumbledore asked.
"Put an end to it. Potter can't compete."
"You heard Barty. The rules are clear. If Harry doesn't compete he will lose his magic."
"A devil man Barty is. And his rules. Since when did you acuminate the ministry?"
"But his name came out of the goblet." Said Severus. "I'm afraid we have no choice. There is nothing we can do. If we are to truly discover the true meaning of these events we should, for the time being, let them unfold."
"Do nothing? Offer him up as bate?" McGonagall asked in shock. "Potter is a boy. Not a peace of meat."
"I agree with you Severus. Both you and Alaster, keep an eye on Harry will you?"
"We can do that." Said Moody.
"I agree." Said Severus.
Dumbledore then put his wand on his head and then let a memory out and then put it into the pansieve as it then revealed it to be the memory of when Harry's name came out of the goblet.
