In case you skipped to the end, I just want to remind you that I posted this chapter and chapter 4 at the same time, so if you're confused it's because you skipped it.

Next I have some questions to answer.

For Kal57HO. 1, I didn't get into more details about that(Figured it was clear why he ran away), but why he ran away was because he was upset that his father didn't let him come along on some custom training that was meant for his sister, so he headed for Poketopia, knowing his father couldn't bother him on a Pokemon planet, and was hoping to let off some steam. 2, nope, I'm not much of a book guy. 3 and 4, I know about World of Warcraft, it was my childhood game, and while I don't play it anymore, I still keep up to date about things involving the game, but Warcraft is too big of a story to mix properly with any of my stories, so I won't be using it for any of my stories. And 5, if i'm counting right I have 5 chapters left, but I still have to the finish the first few chapter of my Persona 4 story that will replace it in the order of stories, and then finish the 19 chapter Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, so there's still a lot of work to do(Plus it doesn't help that work will be starting again soon so writing time will get even smaller).

Now onto Chapter 5.

Chapter 5

A Hustling Thievul

Poketopia, City Center

While working, Judy noticed it was noon, and looked at her ticket gagged and saw that she reached her goal. "Boom! 200 tickets before noon!" Judy said, feeling proud, before noticing another meter going off.

"Oh." Judy said, realizing this ticket was for her. "201." Judy said, ticking herself. "You gotta ticket yourself. Being a cop is hard in this town." A female voice said, surprising Judy.

Judy turned to see Kalena and Kipo moving up to her, riding bikes. "Kipo, Kalena, how has your morning been?" Judy asked them, trying to put on a happy face. "I would like to say it's been eventually, but it hasn't. At least we found someone who was willing to rent us some bikes." Kalena said to Judy, as they parked their bikes next to Judy's meter maid mobile.

"We're still struggling to find anyone or anything that has a clue about where Bokusa is. I hope you have something?" Kipo asked Judy, making Judy nervous. "Sorry. It doesn't look like Chief Bofo will be trusting me with any real police work soon." Judy said to Kipo and Kalena, making them sad.

Feeling bad, Judy tried to cheer them up. "But I'm working super hard to get some real police work." Judy said to Kipo and Kalena, forcing a smile, that made Kipo feel better. "That's the spirit." Kipo said to Judy, smiling, while Kalena gave her an odd look.

That's when they heard a car horn, and the girls turned to see a Thievul, who was only wearing a green shirt, blue jeans, and a very long tie, almost getting hit by a truck. "Hey, watch where you're going, Thievul!" The driver said to the Thievul, before driving away, while the Thievul gave the driver a "what's your problem" look.

"A Thievul." Kalena said to everyone. "A Thievul?" Kipo asked Kalena, confused a little. "Right, you won't know. Thievul are slippery Pokemon known to steal things from right under your nose." Kalena said to Kipo, as they watched the Thievul sneak into an ice cream shop.

"We should see what he's up to." Judy said to everyone, before they ran across the street.

When they reached the shop, they looked through a window, but couldn't see the Thievul. "Where'd he go?" Judy asked everyone. "No idea." Kipo said to Judy. "Guess we have to go in." Kalena said to everyone, as she opened the door to the ice cream shop.

In the shop, an Abomasnow was using his bare hands to make giant balls of ice cream, and covered its top with way too many sprinkles and a single cherry on top.

That's when Judy, Kipo, and Kalena walked into the shop, and heard some Pokemon arguing. "Listen, I don't know what you're doing skulking around during daylight hours but I don't want any trouble in here. So, hit the road." A Vanilluxe said to the Thievul.

Seeing this, Judy got ready to use her flash bang. "Judy, wait." Kalena said to Judy, holding a hand towards her, telling her to stand down.

"I'm not for any trouble either, sir. I simply want to buy a Jumbo Pop for my little boy." The Thievul said, as the girls saw a Nickit in a Swinub costume, surprising Judy.

"You want the red or the blue, pal?" The Thievul asked the Nickit. This caused the Nickit to move to a giant red popsicle that was behind a glass, and pointed at it.

"Looks Like we overreacted a little." Kalena said to Judy and Kipo. "Yeah we might have." Judy said to Kalena, as she put the flash bang away, and they got ready to leave.

"Oh, come on, kid. Back up." The Vanilluze said to Nickit, floating near the Nickit, making the Nickit back away from the glass.

"Listen, buddy. What? There aren't any ice cream joints in your run down part of town, you shifty Thievul?" The Vanilluxe asked the Thievul, causing Judy, Kipo, and Kalena to stop and turn to the Thievul and Vanilluxe.

Uh, no, no. There are. There are. It's just, my boy this goofy little stinker, he loves all things Ice Type. Want to be an Ice Type when he grows up." The Thievul said to the Vabilluxe, as the Nickit acted like a Swinub.

"Is that adorable?" The Thievul asked the Vanilluxe. "Oh!" Kipo and Judy said, feeling touched by this. But this caused Kalena to give them an odd look, trying to figure out what could have happened that would have caused a Nickit to dream of being an Ice Type, partly because that was odd to her, and the fact as a Dragon, Ice Types aren't something she really liked.

"Who the heck am I to crush his little dreams, huh? Right? That is why we're here for a Pure Ice Type Ice Cream." The Thievul said to Vanilluxe.

"Look, you probably can't read, Thievul, but the sign says "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone". So, beat it." The Vanilluxe said to the Thievul, floating up to a sigh on the counter.

"Your holding up the line." A female Avalugg said to the Thievul, getting tired of this. This caused the Nickit to start crying.

Seeing this Judy and Kipo couldn't stand by. "Hello? Excuse me." Judy said to the Vanilluxe, getting his attention. "Hey, you're gonna have to wait your turn like everyone else, meter maid." The Vanilluxe said to Judy, with a mean tune in his voice, annoying Kalena.

"Care to say that again?" Kalena asked the Vanilluxe, giving him a mean look that caused him to get a little scared. "Kalena, be nice. After all, I am an officer." Judy said to Kalena, showing off her badge to everyone, making Kalena stand down.

"And I just have a quick question. Are your customers aware they're getting pine needles and gems with their cookies and cream?" Judy asked the Vanilluxe, making some Pokemon that were eating the ice cream to spit it out in shock.

"What are you talking about?" The Vanilluxe asked Judy. "Well, I don't want to cause you any trouble but I believe scooping ice cream with an ungloved hand is a Class 3 health code violation." Judy said to the Vanilluxe, making everyone turn to see the Abomasnow freezing, before dropping some ice cream and walking away.

"Which is kind of a big deal. Of course, I could let you off with a warning if you were to glove those hands and, I don't know… finish selling this nice dad and his son a…" Judy said to the Vanilluxe, already forgetting what they were asking for.

"What was it?" Judy quietly asked the Thievul. "A Jumbo Pop. Please." The Thievul asked the Vanilluxe. "A jumbo pop." Judy said to Vanilluxe, making the Vanilluxe uneasy.

"Come on, it won't hurt if you just let the kid have his popsicle." Kipo said to the Vanilluxe. "15 dollars." The Vanilluxe said in defeat. "Thank you so much." The Thievul said to the Vanilluxe. "Thank you." The Thievul said to Judy, as he started to feel around for his wallet, and couldn't find it.

"Oh, no. Are you kidding me? I don't have my wallet." The Thievul said, before forcing a laugh. "I'd lose my head if it weren't attached to my neck. That's the truth." The Thievul said to everyone.

"Oh, boy. I'm sorry, pal. Got to be about the worst hatched day ever. Please don't be mad at me." The Thievul said to the Nickit, as he started to leave, taking the Nickit with him. "Thanks anyway." The Thievul said to Judy, as he walked away, with the Nickit looking sadly at the popsicles.

Not happy about this Judy ran up to the counter, jumped onto it, and slammed a 20 on the counter. "Keep the change." Judy said to the Vanilluxe.

With that the girls, the Thievul and the Nickit left the ice cream shop, with the Thievul holding the red jumbo pop. "Officers, I can't thank you enough. So kind really. Can I pay you back?" The Thievul said to the girls.

"Oh, no, my treat. It just… You know, it burns me up to see folks with backwards attitudes towards Thievul. I just wanna say you're a great dad and just a… a real articulate fella." Judy said to the Thievul.

"Oh. Well that is high praise. It's rare that I find someone non-patronizing." The Thievul said to Judy. "Officers…?" The Thievul asked the girls, not knowing their names.

"Oh no we're not officers, I'm Kipo and that's Kalena. She's the only cop here." Kipo said to the Thievul. "And you can call me Zaps. Mister…" Judy asked the Thievul. "Wilde. Nick Wilde." The Thievul said to Judy.

And you, little guy. You want to be an Ice Type when you grow up? You can be an Ice Type. Because this is Poketopia. Anyone can be anything." Judy said, putting a stick of a police badge on his custom, earning a smile from the Nickit.

"Oh, boy, I tell him that all the time." Nick said to the girls. "All right, here you go. Two paws. Yeah." Nick said to the Nickit, passing the jumbo pop to him, with the Nickit holding it up and with a big smile on his face. "Ah, look at that smile. That's a happy hat hatched day smile." Nick said to everyone.

"All right, give the nice ladies a bye-bye snort?" Nick asked the Nickit, causing the Nickt to snort like he was a Swinub. Judy played along and acted like a Swinub as well.

"Bye now." Nickit said to the girls, as he and the Nickit started to walk away. "Goodbye!" Judy said to Nick and the Nickit, as she turned away from them.

That's when Judy noticed the time. "I gotta get back to work! See you girls later!" Judy said to Kipo and Kalena, rushing to her vehicle, and driving away. "Stay safe." Kipo said to Judy, waving goodbye.

'Something was off about them.' Kalena thought, watching as Nick and the Nickit walked out of sight. "Come on Kipo, let's get back to work." Kalena said to Kipo. "Right." Kipo said to Kalena, before hopping on their bike and leaving the area.

Poketopia, Desert Square

A couple hours later Desert Square, and while Judy was working, when she ran into Kipo and Kalena again, who was wandering around. "Hey, Kipo, Kalena." Judy said to them, getting their attention. "Hey Judy? How's the tickets coming along?" Kipo asked Judy, as she and Kalena walked to Judy.

"It's been okay. It's been kinda slow." Judy said, letting Kipo see that she passed out 262 tickets. "You call doing 60 more tickets slow?" Kipo asked Judy, wondering what she would consider a normal past.

This made Kalena roll her eyes, and in doing so she saw Nick's kid nearby. "Hey girls, look. It's Nick's kid." Kalena said to everyone, making everyone turn to see Nick Kid coming out of a van.

"Oh, hey, little…" Judy said to Nick's kid, as they noticed Nick's kid standing by two jars full of red liquid, while a third one was being filled with red liquid.

Curious, they looked up to see Nick melting the popsicles. And when he was done, Nick tossed the stick down to his kid. Then Nick and his kid loaded the stick and the jars into the van.

"What the?" Kipo asked, before they saw the van drive away. And to their shock, it was Nick's kid that was driving.

"Please tell me you all saw that?" Kipo asked everyone. "I did." Judy said to Kipo, still having a hard time believing what she saw. "Come on, let's figure out what they're doing." Judy said to Kipo and Kalena, as she hopped onto her vehicle and drove away.

Agreeing with her, Kipo and Kalena used their bikes to follow Judy.

Poketopia, Tundratown

Following Nick's van, the girls found themselves in Tundratown, and after finding Nick's van unattended, they hid behind a snow bank, and noticed Nick's kid using his tail to leave marks in the show, then put a small popstile in the snow imprint. Then they saw Nick pouring the red ice juice into the imprints.

"Are they turning that jumpo pop into smaller ice pops?" Kipo asked everyone. "Looks like it, but why?" Judy asked everyone.

Poketopia, City Center

And the question was answered, when the girls followed Nick to the City Center, and saw Nick setting up a small little popsicle stand outside an old building. Nick pulled out a popsicle, as he noticed the clock turn 5, and a bell rang.

That's when a lot of Pokemon came out of the building. "Popsicles! Get your popsicles!" Nick said, getting the Pokemon's attention, and making them walk towards him.

At a fast pass, Nick sold all the popsicles for a couple bucks, and all the Pokemon at the popsicles at a super fast pass as well, tossing the sticks into the nearest trash can.

But that trash can was also part of whatever Nick was doing, as Nick's kid came out of the trash can, dragging a box full of the popsicle sticks.

The next stop was a school, where Nick and his kid were giving the popsicle sticks to a Kleki. "Wood supplies, delivery." Nick said to the Kleki. "What's with the color?" The Kleki asked Nick.

"The color?" Nick asked, quickly thinking of a cover for that fact the he used them for popsicles. "That's red wood." Nick said to the Kleki.

Seeing this, Judy got really mad, while Kalena and Kipo were feeling a mix of impress and frustration.

A few minutes later, Nick was giving his kid some money. "39, 40. There you go." Nick said to his kid, giving him some money. "Way to work that custom, big guy." Nick said to his kid, as his kid took off the Swinub costume.

"Hey, no kiss bye-bye for daddy?" Nick asked his kid, as his kid turned into a Zoroark. "You kiss me tomorrow, I'll bite your face off." The Zoroark said to Nick, his teeth glowing white.

The Zoroark then put on some sunglasses, and hopped into the van, and drove away with loud music playing.

Once the tuck was gone, Nick was now standing before Judy, Kipo, and Kalena, all of them giving him a disapproving look.

"Well. I stood up for you, and you lied to me. You liar!" Judy said to Nick. "Yeah you only wanted that popsicle so you could use it to make your own. That's down right plagiarism." Kipo said to Nick.

"It's called a hustle, sweethearts. And I'm not the lair. He is." Nick said to the girls, pointed to the side, making them turn their head to nothing, and when they looked back at Nick, they noticed he was gone, then when they turned to the other directions, they noticed Nick casually walking away.

"I can't believe we fell for that!" Kalena said, as the girls ran after him.

"All right, slick, Nice, you're under arrest." Judy said to Nick, as the girls reached him. "Really? For what?" Nick asked Judy. "Gee, I don't know how about selling food with a permit. Transporting undeclared commerce across brought lines. False advertising." Judy said to Nick.

"Permit." Nick said, pulling out a permit to transport commerce. "Receipt of declared commerce." Nick said, flipping the paper to reveal the permit to sell food. "And I didn't falsely advertise anything. Take care." Nick said to Judy, as he put his papers away, and they stopped at a crosswalk with a Stuntank next to them.

"You say that, but how do we know those are not fake?" Kalena said to Nick. "Not to mention you told that Kleki the popsicle sticks were redwood!" Judy said to Nick.

"Well they are real. And it's "red wood". With a space in the middle. Wood that is red." Nick said to everyone, as he pulled out a popsicle stick and gave it to Judy.

That's when the crosswalk let them cross, with Nick getting behind the Stuntank, as a small herd of Tauros started to walk from the other side.

"You can't touch me, Volt, Scales, and Kitty. I've been doing this since I was hatched." Nick said to everyone, as he walked backwards for a few steps, before turning away from her.

"You're gonna want to refrain from calling me Volt." Judy said to Nick, as she, Kipo, and Kalena followed Nick.

"My bad. I just naturally assumed you all came from some little storm-choked Podunk, no?" Nick asked Judy, as the herd parted for the Skuntank letting Nick get by with ease, but the herd crashed into Judy, Kalena, and Kipo, making it a little harder for them to follow Nick.

"Uh, no! Podunk is in Sawsbuckbrooke County and I grew up Agro-Berry Town." Judy said to Nick. "And where she or any of us come from doesn't change the fact you're a fraud." Kipo said to Nick.

Okay. Tell me if this story sounds familiar. Naive little hick with good grades and big ideas decided, "Hey, look at me! I'm going to Poketopia where all Pokemon get along and live in harmony and sing "Kumbaya". Only to find, whoopsie, we don't get along. And that dream of becoming a big city cop? Double whoopsie. She's a meter maid. And whoopsie number three-sie, no one cares about her or her dreams. And soon enough, those dreams die and our Pachirisu sinks into emotional and litter squalor living in a box under a bridge. Till finally she has no choice but to go back home, with that cute, fuzzy-wuzzy long tail between her legs to become…" Nick said to everyone, leading them through a back alley, and moving part of a wooden fence at the end.

"You're from Agro-Berry Town, is that what you said?" Nick asked Judy, trying to remember her right. "So how about a Cheri farmer. That sounds about right?" Nick asked Judy, before walking away with a smirk on his face.

"While very rude and mean, not going to lie, that was impressive." Kalena said to everyone, as Judy got annoyed, and ran through the fence, not looking where she was going, and almost got crushed by a Mudsdale foot, if Kalena hadn't pulled her back.

"That was close." Kalena said, as they all walked past the fence. "Be careful, now, or it won't just be your dreams getting crushed." Nick said to Judy, as he kept walking away, not looking at them.

"Hey! Hey!" Judy said to Nick, as she got out of Kalena's hands and ran to Nick, walking ahead of him and facing him, not looking at where she was going.

"No one tells me what I can or can't be! Especially not some jerk who never had the guts to try to be anything more than a popsicle hustler." Judy said to Nick, as Kipo and Kalena walked up to Nick. "Judy's right. You can talk big about how this city works. But it's clear that you just don't think highly of the city." Kalena said to Nick, making Nick stop, and so did everyone a second later.

"All right, look. Everyone comes to Poketopia thinking they can be anything they want. Well, you can't. You can only be what you are. Sly Thievul, Dumb Pachirisu, Silly Delcatty, and Brute Kommo-o." Nick said, pointing to everyone.

"I'm not a dumb Pachirisu." Judy said to Nick. "And I'm not that silly of a Delcatty." Kipo said to Nick. "And I'm not a brute." Kalena said to Nick. "Right and that's not wet cement." Nick said to everyone, pointed at Judy, making them look down to see Judy sinking in some cement.

"Judy!" Kipo and Kalena said, at the same time, as they moved to help Judy out of the cement.

"You'll never be a real cop. You're a cute meter maid, though. Maybe a supervisor one day. Hang in there." Nick said to Judy, as he walked away, while Kipo and Kalena helped Judy out of the cement.

This made Judy feel bad. "Forget about him. You've already gone further than what others thought you could, by the sounds of it." Kipo said to Judy, as she crushed off some of the cement on her.

"Kipo's right. You have only just started being a cop. You got your foot in the door, now you have to prove you belong here." Kalena said to Judy. "And you do belong here. Now why don't we help you to your place." Kipo said to Judy.

"No thanks I have to head to the station and clock out and turn in my stuff. See you two later, maybe." Judy said to Kipo and Kalena, before walking away, sounding defeated.

"Things will get better tomorrow Judy. Just wait and see." Kipo said, calling out to Judy, trying to make her feel better.
