A bright light shone through Bel's window as he was just waking up. His room is enveloped in bright green, a strange occurrence, especially to an anxious mess. As they run to hide under his bed, fearing this strange light, he is able to fit, but the light isn't stopped by physical objects. They find himself unable to move, only increasing the fear coursing through his veins. Realizing freaking out will only tire them out and do nothing to help his situation, he decides to stay cool until someone finds them, filling his time with the only thing he can manage to do with no mobility, crafting complex stories. He skillfully mixes words to tell stories with charismatic leads and smart sidekicks. For 3,700 years, Bel tells themself story after story.

He was towards the end of one of their favorite stories, when he suddenly "wakes up" and can see his surroundings for the first time. Terrified that he is not only no longer in their house, but he is also naked and surrounded by a forest, Bel sprints off, hoping to find some food, or at least a place to take up shelter. He passes what looks like the statues of many people, wondering if this is what happened to him. After running (and lots of walking) for several hours, he sat down in a clearing next to a bush with berries, and decided to take a nap. He is scared to sleep in this unfamiliar place, but they recognize that they should probably stay awake at night for protection. As he lays his head down, he wonders how he'll survive in this new world, and how he woke up.

Bel is awoken by a strange noise somewhere near his sleeping spot. He jumps up, head on a swivel, but only finds rabbits foraging on the same bush he ate from. Fearing the animals that would come out as darkness began to fall, they continued on their way, trying to cover enough distance from his original spot, worried that someone had awoken him, as that was the only logical conclusion in his mind, even though he had nothing to base it on. He managed to walk for another 3 hours before hunger and exhaustion made him look for shelter for the night. He managed to find a small cave on the side of a hill. They sat down in the cave, hoping he could hide himself for the night.

As morning rose, the first thing Bel did was sleep. After a night of making sure he protected himself, there was nothing else he found more important than rest. Food can wait plus, you can't hunt tired. He laid down a bit deeper into the small cave to ensure nothing bothered him, and rested for about 5 hours. Around midday, he continued his journey. After 7 hours of walking (and some running when he heard a noise) he reached what looked like a small camp. They were surprised, as he hasn't encountered any people this far into his trek. As he looks around, he counts two small huts, one looks like some kind of storage and one lookout. As they step forward to investigate, he hears people talking in the clearing. He decides that he doesn't want to risk conflict and instead decides to wait until night time, understanding that a lower visibility is worth not being caught.

As Bel watches the people in the clearing, he makes out a bit of information on these strangers through their conversations.

"Hey Senku, look at this cool rock I found!"

"Chrome, I'm trying to focus on processing this metal, just put it with the others and I'll look at it when I'm done."

Bel gathers the following: First, their names. The smart blond one is named Senku, and the energetic brunet is named Chrome. Second, they sleep in the lookout tower, so when he searches for supplies, he can only look in the storage-like building. Being tired from the long walk, and hungry from the lack of food, they almost fall asleep waiting for the boys to retire for the night. Especially since the blond refuses to sleep, instead opting to spend the night on his project. Eventually, the brunet demands that his friend sleeps, or he will call some other person Bel hasn't met named "Kohaku" to drag him into the lookout. He relents and joins his colleague for the night.

Bel seizes his chance, looking around the clearing first for food left out or anything that can be blamed on an animal. Finding nothing, they sneak towards the storage building. Upon entering, Bel realizes that it is not just storage, but some kind of makeshift lab. After searching around the lab for a few minutes, he finds a change of clothes and some food. As he is leaving, something is blown over by the wind. Bel rushes to pick it up and realizes these people have paper. He feels the smooth pages and realizes that he can take some to finally have a place to write his stories. Overjoyed, he takes some paper, as well as a charcoal decide that it will be best to find somewhere nearby to make his own camp, so he can come back to take more supplies if he needs them.

He first feels guilty for stealing, but promises to help these people if they need him to, and that makes him feel better. As they rush to put the clothes on and finally eat his first meal since the bush in the plains, he sits down to finally write. As he has too many stories, he wonders what he should write about first.

"Writer's block now? Really, I should have more than enough stories to write down, why now," he mutters to himself as he realizes the excess of stories to a detriment. After an hour of trying to put pen to paper, he decides to go back to the stranger's camp. Maybe he will find something to write about there.
