Chandler vs Kahuna Olivia
The next morning, at the Malie City Pokemon Center; The Louds and their Alola friends were just finishing breakfast with their Pokemon.
"Ready to head for Tapu Village, Lincoln?" asked Lynn.
"You bet." said Lincoln with excitement.
"What do you think you'll have to do for your Island Trial at the Thrifty Megamart place?" asked Shelby.
"I'm sure we'll find out when we get there." said Lincoln.
"I know you can pass it, Lincoln." said Mallow with a smile as she puts one of her hands on one of Lincoln's shoulders, making him blush
"Let's hurry and finish eating so we can get going." said Shiloh.
Once everyone was done with breakfast, they exit the Pokemon Center and walk over to the south exit of Malie City; once there, they leave and enter Route 12.
"Look at this road." said Alola Lana as she sees the path in front of them littered with sharp rocks.
"This is gonna be torture for our feet." said Shane.
"Especially for those of us not wearing shoes." said Lillie as she looks at Kiawe's feet, making him cringe at the thought of walking on the path in front of them while barefoot.
"Hi, everybody." a girl's voice calls out to them, making the group turn to see a small girl with tan skin, black hair that had two large braids coming down the back of her head; she was wearing a purple bonnet, a short-sleeved khaki shirt with matching baggy pants, and black rubber boots, riding on a large brown horselike Pokemon with a black and red mane with matching tail, and red muzzle and lower thighs.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the horse Pokemon.
"Mudsdale, the Draft Horse Pokemon, and the evolved form of Mudbray. It remains calm and unmoving no matter the situation. It mixes dirt with the saliva in its mouth to make a special kind of mud." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Lana would like this Pokemon." said Lynn Jr.
"Who are you?" asked Shelby.
"My name is Hapu." the girl now known as Hapu says to the group.
"I'm Lincoln Loud." said Lincoln.
"I'm his sister, Lynn Loud Jr." said Lynn.
"I'm their cousin, Shane." said Shane.
"I'm Shane's sister, Shelby." said Shelby.
"I'm their little brother, Shiloh." said Shiloh.
"I'm Mallow." said Mallow.
"I'm Lillie." said Lillie.
"I'm Lana." said Alola Lana.
"I'm Kiawe." said Kiawe.
"And I'm Sophocles." said Sophocles.
"Is there a problem here?" asked Hapu.
"Not exactly." said Lincoln.
"We're just not crazy about the idea of having to walk on a path full of sharp rocks." said Shane.
"Maybe I can help you with that." said Hapu. She takes out a Ride Pager from her pocket and walks over to the group. "Do any of you have a Ride Pager with you?"
"I do." said Lincoln as he pulls his Ride Pager out of his backpack; Hapu holds her device up to Lincoln and pushes a couple buttons on it. A beeping was soon heard from Lincoln's Ride Pager, making everyone look at it to see an icon that looked like a Mudsdale on it.
"I just registered Mudsdales to your Ride Pager." said Hapu. "They can walk over the roughest terrain like it's nothing while carrying ten tons on their backs."
"Talk about strong!" said Lynn.
"You can all ride Mudsdales up this route to make things easier for you." said Hapu.
"Thanks a lot." said Lincoln.
"You're welcome." said Hapu before she rides down the road while waving goodbye to everyone.
"What are we waiting for?" asked Shiloh. Lincoln takes out his Ride Pager and calls for several Mudsdales; after they arrive, everyone hops on them, with Mallow riding with Lincoln while her arms around his chest, making him blush.
"Let's ride, everybody." said Lincoln as the group starts riding down Route 12.
"Do you think we should tell Chandler about this rocky path?" asked Alola Lana.
"Why?" Lynn replied.
"Good question." said Lillie.
"How do you think he'll do against Olivia?" asked Mallow.
"I hope Chandler loses." said Shiloh.
"We all do." said Shelby.
As Lincoln's group heads down Route 12; Chandler was travelling through the Akala Outskirts on his way to where his next Grand Trial is.
"I can't wait to take down that kahuna." said Chandler with anticipation. He soon arrives at the Ruins of Life where he sees Kahuna Olivia coming out of the shrine located there who notices the redhead.
"Can I help you, young man?" Olivia asked Chandler.
"Are you the kahuna here?" asked Chandler.
"Yes; I'm Kahuna Olivia." Olivia replied.
"I'm Chandler McCann, soon to be the best Pokemon trainer here in Alola." Chandler said. "I'm here to challenge you to a battle."
"Very well." said Olivia. She then leads Chandler to the battlefield where they both stand on opposite ends of it.
"This shouldn't be too hard." Chandler smugly said. "If Larry was able to beat you, then I should be able to, no problem."
"I never faced anyone named Larry before." said Olivia.
"He's a dweeb with white hair." Chandler replied.
"Oh, you mean Lincoln." said Olivia.
"Whatever." Chandler replied. "How many Pokemon are we using anyway?"
"We will each use three." said Olivia.
"Whatever." said Chandler. He and Olivia each take a pokeball off their waists. Chandler throws his, releasing his Tentacruel; and Olivia throws hers, releasing her Armaldo.
"Okay, Tentacruel, use Water Pulse!" said Chandler. His Tentacruel forms a pulsing mass of water between some of its tentacles and launches it at Armaldo, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Armaldo, use Bulldoze!" said Olivia. Armaldo stomps hard onto the battlefield, sending a shockwave at Tentacruel, hitting him, and dealing super effective damage; his tentacles sink into the softened ground a little.
"What's going on?!" asked Chandler.
"Bulldoze can also reduce its target's speed." said Olivia.
"Dang it." said Chandler. "Tentacruel, try using Bubble Beam!" His Tentacruel releases a barrage of bubbles that hit Armaldo, dealing super effective damage; its legs get all shaky.
"It looks like Bubble Beam reduced my Pokemon's speed." said Olivia.
"Ha! How do you like it?" asked Chandler.
"Not a lot." said Olivia. "Armaldo, use Slash!" Armaldo lunges at Tentacruel and slashes him with one of its claws, dealing damage; he struggles to keep standing.
"You better not lose!" said Chandler. "Use another Water Pulse!" His Tentacruel releases another mass of pulsing water at Armaldo, hitting it, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out. "Yeah! That's showing it!" Olivia frowns before returning her Armaldo to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Armaldo." said Olivia before putting Armaldo's pokeball back on her waist.
"It lost." said Chandler. "Why bother giving it props?"
"Armaldo did his best, that's all trainers should expect from all their Pokemon." said Olivia.
"Whatever." said Chandler. Olivia frowns at him before she takes another pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Probopass.
"Probopass, use Rock Polish!" said Olivia. Probopass begins glowing with a white light; when it fades, its body was shinier.
"How about using a real attack instead of shining up some floating statue?" asked Chandler. "Tentacruel, use Bubble Beam and show that rock a real attack!" His Tentacruel releases another stream of bubbles that hits Probopass, dealing super effective damage.
"Probopass, use Spark!" said Olivia. Her Probopass' body becomes covered in electricity before it rams into Tentacruel at a fast speed, dealing super effective damage, and knocking him out.
"How can a rock be that fast?!" asked Chandler.
"Rock Polish increases the speed of the Pokemon that used it." said Olivia. Chandler frowns before he returns Tentacruel to his pokeball.
"You should've tried harder." said Chandler.
"I'm sure Tentacruel did its best." said Olivia.
"Obviously it wasn't enough." said Chandler before he puts Tentacruel's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Jolteon. "Don't mess this up, Jolteon; use Thunder Fang!" Jolteon leaps at Probopass while his fangs were covered in electricity and bites down on it, dealing damage; Probapass starts to twitch as static electricity covers its body. "Ha! Your Probopass is paralyzed!"
"Probopass, use Earthquake!" said Olivia. Probopass slams itself down onto the ground hard, making the area shake violently while dealing super effective damage to Jolteon.
"Jolteon, use Double Kick!" said Chandler. Jolteon leaps at Probopass and delivers two strong kicks to it, dealing super effective damage.
"Probopass, use Bulldoze!" said Olivia. Probopass tries to float off the ground to make another shockwave, but paralysis stops it.
"Jolteon, use Quick Attack!" said Chandler. His Jolteon moves quickly towards Probopass and slams into it, barely doing anything at all.
"Probopass is a combination of rock and steel." said Olivia. "Normal type attacks won't do much good against him."
"Dang it!" said Chandler.
"Probopass, try using Bulldoze again!" said Olivia. This time her Probopass manages to make another shockwave through the ground that hits Jolteon, dealing super effective damage.
"Jolteon, use Double Kick!" said Chandler. His Jolteon leaps at Probopass and lands two more strong kicks to it again, dealing enough super effective damage to knock him out. "Nice work, Jolteon!" Olivia returns her Probopass to his pokeball.
"You did well, Probopass." said Olivia. She puts Probopass's pokeball back on her waist and pulls her last one off; she tosses it, releasing her Lycanroc. "Lycanroc, use Bite!" Her Lycanroc lunges at Jolteon and bites down on him, dealing damage, and making him flinch.
"Don't be a wimp, Jolteon!" said Chandler.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb!" said Olivia. Her Lycanroc summons up a bunch of rocks and drops them onto Jolteon, dealing damage, and holding him down, reducing his speed.
"Jolteon, use Thunder Fang!" said Chandler. Jolteon leaps at Lycanroc while electricity surrounded his fangs and he bites Lycanroc with them, dealing damage; Lycanroc begins to twitch.
"Lycanroc's paralyzed." said Olivia.
"You want to give up?" asked Chandler.
"A real kahuna never surrenders; Lycanroc, use Counter!" said Olivia. Lycanroc fights through its paralysis and becomes surrounded by a light red aura; it punches Jolteon, and knocks him out.
"No way!" said Chandler. He frowns before returning Jolteon to his pokeball and putting it back on his waist.
"Do you still want to battle me?" asked Olivia.
"Does this answer your question?!" Chandler replied as he pulls his last pokeball off his waist and tosses it, releasing his Pinsir.
"Show this trainer what you can do, Lycanroc." said Olivia. Lycanroc nods before using its inner strength to dispel the paralysis.
"How did it do that?!" asked Chandler.
"When a bond between trainer and Pokemon is strong, the Pokemon is able to do incredible things." said Olivia.
"Whatever." said Chandler.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Throw!" said Olivia. Her Lycanroc summons up a bunch of rocks and launches them at Pinsir, hitting him, and dealing super effective damage.
"Pinsir, use Brick Break!" said Chandler. Pinsir's left arm glows orange before he brings it down onto Lycanroc's head, dealing super effective damage.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb!" said Olivia. Her Lycanroc drops a bunch of rocks onto Pinsir, dealing super effective damage to him, and pinning him down, lowering his speed.
"Time to end this!" said Chandler before he holds out his Z-Ring and inserts his Fightinium Z-Crystal into it; he does the pose to activate it, making Z-Energy flow through him and into Pinsir, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of him. "Use All-Out Pummeling!" His Pinsir does a bunch of palm thrusts, releasing a bunch of orange open hand-shaped energy blasts that hit Lycanroc, dealing super effective damage; but Lycanroc is still standing, shocking the annoying redhead.
"Nice try." said Olivia.
"How did it handle that move?!" asked Chandler with surprise.
"Like I said, the power of the bond between trainer and Pokemon can make incredible things happen." said Olivia. She then holds out her Z-Ring, which has a Rockium-Z Crystal in it.
"Uh oh." said Chandler. Olivia does the pose to activate to her Z-Crystal, making Z-Energy flow through her and into Lycanroc, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of it.
"Lycanroc, use Continental Crush!" shouts Olivia. A bunch of large boulders shoot out from the ground and into the sky and combine to make one massive rock that made Chandler tremble with fear; the continental mass comes crashing down onto Pinsir, dealing super effective damage, and causing a shockwave that scatters dust and debris everywhere; when the dust clears, Pinsir was on its back, in a large crater, unconscious.
"NO!" shouts Chandler.
"It appears that I have won." said Olivia.
With Lincoln's group, the white-haired Loud suddenly gets a tingly sensation in his back.
"What's with you, cuz?" Shane asked Lincoln.
"I got a feeling something good happened." Lincoln replied.
"Do you think Chandler lost?" asked Shelby with excitement.
"I don't know." said Lincoln.
"Here's hoping." said Lynn with her fingers crossed.
Back with Chandler and Olivia, the redhead scowled before returning his Pinsir to his pokeball.
"Feel free to challenge me again once your Pokemon get stronger, young man." said Olivia as she holds out an open hand; Chandler frowns before giving the kahuna half the pokedollars he had on him.
"I will!" Chandler replied. Olivia smirks before she starts heading back to Konikoni City, only to trip and fall on her face, making Chandler sweatdrop. "How could I lose to this klutz?!"
Half an hour later, at the Konikoni City Pokemon Center; Chandler was eating while waiting for his Pokemon to be treated.
"I can't show my face to the Louds and my girlfriend after losing!" said Chandler. "I need to beat Olivia before I go back to Hau'oli City." He suddenly remembers a certain jerk Pokemon he caught a while back and quickly runs over to the Pokemon Center's PC.
Chandler had his first battle with Olivia and lost. What will the obnoxious redhead do now as his and the Louds' Alola adventure continues?
