Chapter 5: Daydream Dance
The Smiling, Nightmare, Frowning, and Dream Critters walk through the Glow Grove. Critters in that area danced on the lagoons and dined at floating bars.
"Alright! I suggested we should come through first," said Allister Gator.
"So, this club you're taking us. What's it called?" DogDay said.
"It's a party club called Daydream Dance. It's a very popular club located in the heart of this district. Some friends run the Daydream Critters we made when we first moved here. It took a while for them to be friend with the Frowning Critters, though," said Ben Horns.
"Not my fault that my friends don't have the guts to make new friends," said CatFeine.
"You know stranger danger, CatFeine," WimpinChickin said.
"Yes, but it's become annoying."
"I feel something wrong about these Daydream Critters," said Baba Chops.
"I agree with you, Baba. The Daydream Critters almost look like you and your friends more than my friends and I do. It's kind creepy," said Bliss Teen.
"Here we are," Dogpressed said.
The Daydream Dance's outer structure is designed to resemble vibrant petals glowing in turquoise, lavender, and gold shades. These "petals" are made from translucent, eco-friendly materials that shimmer during the day and radiate soft, glowing colors at night. Covered in cascading vines, moss, and blooming tropical flowers, the building blends nature and architecture. Bioluminescent plants provide an ever-changing display of light. The main entrance is surrounded by a shallow lagoon, where critters cross glowing stepping stones or paddle on leaf-shaped boats to reach the dance floors.
"Wow, it's beautiful," CraftyCorn commented.
"Yeah. It's like a stunning landmark in the heart of Glow Grove. Even I'm impressed by it," said UniqueCorn.
"Huh?!"
"Yeah. Whenever we come here, we become completely different."
"Different how?" Bobby BearHug asks.
"I love this place," Groddy GrudgeBear smiled.
The Smiling Critters and the Nightmare Critters gasped in shock.
"Hello, and welcome to Daydream Dance," said a voice.
The four Critter Crews see Billy Shanks, the Daydream Critter made by an unknown artist, emerging from Daydream Dance.
"Billy, nice to see you well," said Easy Peasy.
"Coming here to party as usual. Who are they? Friends of yours?" Billy asks.
"They wish," Poe crossed their arms.
"Poe is jesting, Billy. They are the Smiling Critters and Nightmare Critters, friends from back at Critter City," Lee continued. "Smiling Critters and Nightmare Critters, meet the owner and club host, Billy Shanks. He takes charge of greetings at the entrance and ensures every guest feels welcome. His sophisticated charm sets the perfect tone for the club."
"Lee, you sunny charmer. Come on in. I'll tell the others about your arrival," said Billy.
As Billy led the way, the Four Critter Crews followed. But the Frowning and Dream Critters looked back suspiciously, indicating they knew they were being watched. Frowny Fox, who was following them, tried to stay hiding underwater.
Inside the DayDream Dance, the club is designed with bioluminescent plants, glowing fungi, and iridescent crystals that bathe the venue in shifting colors. It has the Dance Floors of Wonder. Starfall Floor: Features constellations projected onto the canopy and glowing star-shaped stepping stones. Mystic Lagoon: A water-based dance area surrounded by floating platforms illuminated by glowing fish. Aurora Grove: Mimics the colors of the northern lights, with swirling, colorful beams weaving through the treetops. The three dance floors surrounded the Dream Sphere, a suspended, spherical dance room in the heart of the building. This room has 360-degree projections of dreamy visuals, from starry skies to underwater paradises, immersing critters in a different world with every beat. The club includes Glow Longues, cozy hangouts where critters can socialize and sip tropical nectar drinks; Resting Branches, elevated platforms where critters can take a breather amidst the dreamy surroundings; and Celebration Rooms, private spaces for critters to host their mini-parties or celebrations. There's also the Nectar Bar Haven: The central bar, shaped like a glowing crystal, serves Sticky Licky's famous cocktails. It rotates slowly, allowing critters to enjoy the club's beauty while enjoying their drinks. And Rest Nooks: Cozy alcoves and platforms along the walls enable critters to rest and recharge while still enjoying the ambiance. The patrons are enjoying themselves as the Daydream Critters tend to their jobs.
"This is the coolest club ever," said KickinChicken.
"It's like we enter the dreamworld," Hoppy Hopscotch added.
"Sweet. If you look at the bar called Nectar Bar Haven, you see a green frog working there," Floppy FlopZee pointing there. "That's Sticky Licky, the Mixology Maestro. She crafts nectar cocktails and tropical blends. Her drink names are as wild as the flavors—critters love visiting her glowing bar."
IckyPiggy then pointed to the DJ Station and said, "Over there is Mango Tango, the DJ. He spins energetic tracks with tropical vibes, keeping the dance floors alive all night. His mango-colored wings create mesmerizing visual effects as he beats to the rhythm."
"What an odd name," said Rabie Baby.
Dumbba Dumbbaphant points to the Aurora Grove and says, "See the crocodile? I think she named her Coral Crocodile. She makes sure the dance floor is always excited. Her keen eye for detail keeps the floors running."
"Oh, she's Dance Floor Coordinator," said Bubba Bubbaphant.
"Oh, yeah."
"Now, take a look underwater," said Matt Mako.
The Four Critter Crews looks underwater for Matt to continue, "She is Aqua Jubilee Cove Liaison Slurpee Sally, who specializes in hosting underwater dance parties and splashy celebrations. She organizes events in the Mystic Lagoon dance area and ensures critters have a splashing good time."
"Weird, she even has the same name as Sodden," Simon Smoke commented.
"It is a common name," Sally Sodden continued, pointing toward the Glow Lounge. "The Glow Lounge Curator Byron takes care of the club's cozy hangouts, ensuring that critters can relax and enjoy drinks in glowing spaces. Their pink ribbon is iconic, and their warm nature makes her a guest favorite."
"And at stage, Entertainment Manager Fondue oversees live performances and talent shows at the Nature Symphony Band stage. Her playful personality and sophisticated bow tie make her the perfect critter to manage the lineup," Virginie said.
"Wait…That's a girl?!" Touille confused.
"Her moustache is fake."
"Yes. She's a cosplayer and loves to dress up as a boy," said Bliss Teen.
"And lastly, at the sidelines, is Shark Bait. He's the Security Chief, who ensures every critter can party without care, keeping the club safe and secure. His sharp instincts and playful charm make him approachable yet dependable," said Coco Crocodile, pointing to a direct.
"He doesn't look like the type to be a bodyguard," said Maggie Mako.
The Smiling Critters and Nightmare Critters noticed the Frowning Critters and the Dream Critters going on the Nature Symphony Band stage.
"What's up, Daydream Dancers?! Frowning and Dream Critters are in the house. We brought some special guests out of town. Let's show them how Critters in Party Peninsula are true party animals," said CatFeine, spotlighting the Smiling Critters and Nightmare Critters.
Lee cheered, "Come on, Critters. Get on the dance floor to shake your bodies, swing your tails, and let out your animal howls and sounds roar through the club."
When music starts playing, all patrons party on the dance floor.
Lee: Ah-ah, ah-ah [Lee flies above the guests.]
Ben Horns: Party in Peninsula, baby [Ben held the back of his head charmingly. With the drums playing, spotlights shine down on the Frowning and Dream Critters.]
Frowning Critters and Dream Critters: I wanna party [Floppy and Coco held hands while holding their other hands high.]
I wanna samba [IckyPiggy and Matt high-fived.]
I wanna party [Groddy and Lee lean into each other's backs while crossed arms and smiled.]
I wanna samba [Bliss takes Dumbba by the hand to spin her around.]
I wanna party [Unique and Sally do the tango dip pose as they blush].
And live my life (CatFeine: My life) [CatFeine held a microphone with her hand tail while Virginie does the Touille Rat Meme dance.]
I wanna party (Dogpressed: Party) [Ben held Dogpressed up to spin her in the air.]
And fly [Wimpin and Easy jump up before floating down.]
Hey! [The Smiling and Nightmare Critters were amazed by the Frowning and Dream Critters' performance.]
Lee: I'mma fly, fly just like a bird [Lee moves their wings up and down the beat.]
(Sally Sodden: But you are a bird.) [Sally chuckled while touching her face.]
Oh yeah, you're right [Lee winked at her.]
So let me fly like a rocket, then. (Okay!) [They stood still and smiled so Sally could toss them up.]
Bliss Teen: Fly so high, where I need to come down for oxygen (Easy Peasy: Hey!) [As Lee went up, Bliss flew up to them so they both can hold wings and spin in the air as they go down.]
'Cause once we start it, baby [Unknown to them, the Smiling Critters and Nightmare Critters stomp their feet to the beat.]
Ain't no, ain't no stopping then (Coco Crodile: Hey!) [Billy Shanks is playing the maracas while Sticky Licky shakes a milkshake shaker.]
Ben Horns: 'Cause I just want to live my life and party! (Virginie: Hey!) [Mango Tango turns up the music while Coral gets the patrons on the dance floor to do the samba.]
All I want is to be free and rock my body (Okay!) [Ben moves his hips while Dogpressed whips her ears everywhere.]
Matt Mako: Ain't nowhere around the world that I want to live my life [The Smiling Critters notice their tails moving to the beat.]
In Party, Peninsula, in Party Peninsula I realize that [They begin to dance along to the song, surprising the Nightmare Critters.]
Frowning Critters and Dream Critters: I wanna party (WimpinChicken: Party) ["What are you doing?" Baba asks.]
I wanna samba (Dumbba Dumbbaphant: Party) ["We don't know. The music got a hold of us," said DogDay, does the dog dance.]
I wanna party (CatFeine: Party) ["Alright, Smiling Freaks. You finally got yourselves to party," Simon cheered.]
And fly ["I feel so wild from this," CatNap said, swinging his tail.]
UniqueCorn: I'm that samba [Unique sings into the mic while Sally looked at awe by him.]
Samba master, master, master, master, master, master. [Slurpee Sally flew up with Byron to somersault together; as for Fondue and Shark Bait, they are on their tails to spin on it.]
Groddy Grudgebear: Who shouts out? [Seeing how the Smiling Critters are having fun, the Nightmare Critters begin to dance while Icky said, "Don't think we are going to let you take in all of the spotlight."]
I'mma get your blaster, blaster, blaster, blaster, blaster ["Nice to see you join in the fun, Smiling and Nightmare," CatFeine coming over.]
IckyPiggy: You dance fast [She then whistled to call her friends and the Dream Critters.]
But I dance faster, faster, faster, faster, faster [They came over to join in the dancing.]
Floppy FlopZee: You're too slow; you need to catch up. [Floppy takes Hoppy's, Coco's, and Allister's hands to spin together, causing them to laugh.]
You can dance and dance but [Icky and Easy spin on their tongues while Kickin and Wimpin does the bird.]
Frowning Critters and Dream Critters: I want to party (Ben: Oh, yeah) (CatFeine: Party) [DogDay pulls Baba toward him, close making her blush and Dogpressed hugged Ben, making form hearts in his eyes.]
I wanna samba (Virginie: Party) [Touille and Virginie do the Rat meme dance while Bubba does the robot, and CatFeine chugs down on her caffeine with joy and hopping on her tail hand.]
I wanna party (Wimpin: Party) [Picky and IckyPiggy stick out their dances while body slam Maggie and Matt.]
I wanna samba (Easy: Party) [CatNap pulls Rabie over with his tail so he can spin her in the air as they hold hands, making her blush. Bliss flew around Dumbba while she did the running man.]
I wanna party (Dumbba: Party) [Simon carries Crafty in his arms to fly up and spin together. Sally hugs Unique from behind.]
And live my life (Coco: My life) [Poe and Lee fly together while Bobby and Groddy dance in sync to do the wave.]
I wanna party (Sally: Party) [All Four Critter Crews came together to do hands in the middle.]
And fly (Dogpressed: Oooooh woah woah) [Once they break, they all come together to dance.]
Everyone: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! (Ben and Bliss: Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh) (Lee: Ah-ah) [Everyone jumps up while they sang hey.]
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! (Lee: Ah-ah) [The patrons then pick up the Four Critter Crews to toss them in the air.]
Smiling Critters: Laya, laya, laya, laya~ [As the Smiling Critters, their pendants glowed in their colors.]
Nightmare Critters: Laya, laya, laya, laya, laya, laya, laya, laya [As it happened to the Nightmare Critters, the Frowning and Dream Critters witnessed what their counterparts were doing.]
Everyone: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey (Ah-ah) [They nod before the patrons put the Four Critter Crews down.]
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey (Ah-ah) [The Daydream Critters go to the DJ set so they could be together and let out a "Dream Color" light show.]
Hey, hey, hey, hey [But then the song ends, when the lights come on and the sound of the entrance bursts open.]
"Hey, hey, hey, hey," the Original Critters from DeviantArt user GhostAlleyCat were still having fun until they opened their eyes and hugged each other in fear.
Everyone looked at the entrances and saw Frowny Fox leading the Forgotten Critters from Gametoons, along with Critters dressed as clowns to act like the Fun Police.
"Shut down this party! This is the fun police!" Frowny shouted.
"Fun police?" DogDay confused.
"Where's the fun in that?" Baba unamazed.
"Nobody move because we got some party poopers in this place," said Clever Claws.
"Party poopers?" CatNap confused.
"I feel bad whoever they are," said Touille.
But the bags come over the Smiling Critters and Nightmare Critters' heads before getting pulled away off-scene.
"Excuse me. Do you have a warrant to search in my club?" Billy Shanks asks, with his Daydream Critters backing him up.
"Right here," Jerry Giraffe said, showing the warrant.
"Our leader Frowny Fox told us that those party poopers are here," said Molly McMoo.
"What? The Frowning Critters and Dream Critters? They didn't act like party poopers when they came," said Sticky Licky.
"Maybe to your eyes, but Mayor Bunny listed their crimes on how they do violent protests, turning off music, stealing food, and vandalism," said Jolly Jaws.
"That sounds ridiculous," said Mango Tango.
"I'm sure the Frowning Critters have an upsetting attitude," said Coral Crocodile.
"And how the Dream Critters can be too destructive when they have fun," Slurpee Sally added.
"But they are still wild party animals at heart. Isn't that the true meaning of Party Peninsula? Any party side is welcomed," said Byron.
"Yes, but unless they gone too far," said Silly Shell.
"Zut alores, this is becoming silly," said Fondue.
"As Security Chief, I didn't see them commit anything bad that would ruin our club," said Shark Bait.
But then three cymbal sounds were heard, making everyone's eyes yellow.
Bunzo Bunny said, "They got away again, huh? I will get you Frowning Critters and Dream Critters."
