Chapter 30: In Search of a Family

This chapter takes place before the events of the chapter/episode Dad Beat Dad. And yes, a new character will be added to the plot soon. I hope you look forward to seeing him appear.

Locked in a small cage, a large dog was lying down and sad, while listening to other dogs barking in the same situation as him.

At that moment, two men entered that poorly maintained room. They mentioned that all these dogs were going to be purchased by a group of revolutionaries and might be used as bomb dogs.

After that, they started feeding the dogs, and commented on the terrible state of each one. At that very moment, the dog raised his ears up, seeing a vision: a group of people with strange appearances happily smiling at him.

That made him instantly stand up, feeling happy for the first time in a long time.

Some time after being bought by the said terrorist group, two men from the group took the white dog and a German Shepherd for a walk. One of the men then went to get coffee from a store, leaving the dogs alone with the other man.

As he waited, the dog's ears perked up when he saw a boy running happily in the streets, and he suddenly ran towards the boy, pulling him behind him. Abruptly, a board fell from the building where the boy had been standing. The shocked boy thanked the dog, who gave a slight bark in response.

As soon as the boy left, the dog had another vision: the same group of terrorists would meet a tragic end for someone with a strange appearance... and who was not of this world. Before he could process it, the terrorists found him and took him with them.

Night fell, while the dog listened to the terrorists' plan: to assassinate Minister Brantz. He and the German Shepherd were in a room, lying down and tied up, with nothing much to do. He wasn't too worried, because the terrorists wouldn't be able to complete their plan anyway.

And as said, that same night, he saw the group meeting their end through someone in his vision. He couldn't see it clearly, but he knew it wasn't from their world. Before leaving, that someone freed the dogs and allowed them to leave the hiding place they were in.

With that, the dog and the German Shepherd went their separate ways, deciding to find their own destinies. During the time he was on the streets, the dog had to survive on scraps, while he sought to understand more about the visions he had been having.

Until one day, he had a rather curious vision: a cave that contained a reddish-purple light flashing. With that, he began heading towards some forest in the region, in search of this mysterious cave.

As soon as he found it, he entered it, not knowing what he might encounter along the way. He endured rain and cold as he walked through the dense forest. The animal climbed the hills, searching for the light that would guide him to that cave.

After a week of walking and searching, he finally saw the light from afar, and his tail wagged in pure happiness. But his moment was interrupted by the sounds of sirens and flashlights pointing in his direction. Whoever they were, they were after him.

Without wasting any time, the dog began to run down the hill, with people shouting to catch him. He jumped over several rocks and small streams, running as fast as he could to escape them. After a long run, the dog finally reached the cave, which still shone with the same light as he had seen.

Quickly, he entered it, before the humans arrived and caught him. As he walked inside, he came across with stalactites and colored crystals everywhere, which left him amazed.

Sounds of footsteps were heard from behind, and he saw that one of the people decided to pluck up the courage to enter the cave. The dog then hurried his steps, fearing that he would be caught.

Until in the end, he came across a vortex between huge crystals, whose purple and red colors mixed, which explained the lights. The animal then heard the human's voice calling him and telling him that he was now surrounded.

And it was then that the dog realized that the portal was not visible to human eyes or at least, to normal beings. With that, he turned and jumped towards the portal, leaving the man shocked and saying that the dog had crossed the wall and disappeared.

The dog found himself on top of a building, as he could see the red sky and the shape of a pentagram in the sky. He walked to the edge and looked down, seeing that the place was very high.

Desperately, the animal began to think about how to get down from there, until he heard footsteps and a voice from behind. - "What's up, young man? How did you get up here?"

He turned around and came across a woman, who was looking at him curiously. She looked down, and then back at him. - "You must want to come down or something, right? Don't worry, I can help you, boy. Just follow me."

With that, the dog began to follow the woman, trusting that she would bring him to the ground safely.

Even after he reached the ground, he continued to follow her, hoping that she would at least be able to tell him where this place was and where he had ended up. The woman did not mind this, simply allowing the dog to follow her wherever she went.

Along the way, the woman stole some food and fresh meat to feed the dog, believing that he might be hungry at that moment.

She stroked his head while he ate like there was no tomorrow. Then the woman began to talk to him. - "You know, boy. You don't look like the other animals here in Hell. You probably came from the world of the living like that child I met months ago, right?"

The dog looked at her, hearing what she said. He was in Hell and there was a child from the same world as him there? So, that portal in the cave took him here. And then, he remembered the vision he had: two of the people in the group looked small, indicating that one of them was the child.

Then he heard the woman laugh lightly and say. - "Ah, so I was right. You're not from here either, are you? Don't worry. I don't think animals will be at risk here, but I recommend you be careful around here anyway."

She then stood up and looked in one direction, as she said. - "You know, I don't know if they accept large animals there, but if they find you or you find them, you will definitely be welcomed, just like that little psychic girl."

The dog turned his head to the side in confusion. The woman then looked back at him and replied. - "Well, I have places to be. You know where to find me, boy. See you around. Take care." - With that, she started walking, leaving him staring at her until she turned onto a street.

Knowing enough where he was and possibly where to go, the animal began walking through the city streets, possibly trying to find this group of people he had seen. He hoped to meet this woman again someday, and that she would be okay by then.

And so, his newest journey into Hell began: finding those people and possibly his newest family.
