In the morning Dash and Violet left their rooms depressed over last night. They saw their parents cooking waffles gleefully and when they saw them Helen said "Good morning kids" before giving them both a kiss on the tops of their heads.
Bob said "Oh, good morning kids. Isn't it a wonderful morning. Care for some waffles. It's your favourite".
Violet asked, "What's so good about this morning".
Dash said "Yeah, especially after last night".
Bob said "Well, because today's a new day and a special little girl is going on a trip today".
Violet responded, "It's just going to a theme park it's nothing special".
Helen said "It is special. This is your first time hanging out with Tony's parents".
Bob said, "Remember his family dinner with us".
Helen laughed and made sure it was louder than she normally would and joked "Yeah, Bomb Voyage really set sail that night". Helen and Bob then both laughed loudly.
Violet asked "Okay, what is going on here. What is up with you two".
Dash said "Yeah, you're acting weird".
Helen and Bob relented, and Helen said, "Okay kids, we know your struggling after last night".
Violet remarked "That's an understatement".
Helen told them "But there's nothing to worry about. Sure, yesterday went bad and the bad guy got away".
Dash remarked "Not helping mom".
Helen continued "But it's not your fault".
Violet remarked "Feels like it".
Helen said "Not everything is going to work out. Sometimes villains get away. And you've never had to deal with one with actual powers before. They're actually very rare. And I can't actually remember the last time me or your father actually faced one".
Bob answered "Nope. Very rare. The last one I think I actually met was Firestarter. He tried to burn all the fire stations to the ground. But good thing Mr Incredible was there to save the day". Helen gave him a look to stop gloating and Bob said "But this one. This bank robber is very powerful. Me and your mother failed against him as well".
Dash said, "Mom probably could've probably knocked him out if she wasn't too busy saving me".
Helen responded, "Oh honey". She then gave him a hug and told him "I saved you because that's what a team does, and we're a family, which is far more important than stopping a stupid bank robber".
Dash retorted "But you shouldn't have needed to save me". Dash then rushed from his seat and sped to his room.
Helen felt horrible that her son was upset with himself, and Violet pushed her waffles away and said sullenly "I better go finish packing. Tony's parents will be here shortly. Maybe I won't fail at that". Violet then went to her room.
Bob and Helen turned to each other and Bob said "Well, that was a failure".
Helen answered "Yeah. Far worse than losing any bank robber". She then said, "I'll talk to Dash, and you talk to Violet".
Bob agreed and said "Yeah".
Helen went to Dash's room and opened the door. She said "Dash. Honey".
Dash retorted "Go away mom".
Helen sat on the bed and said "Dash. I think you misunderstood what I meant".
Dash retorted "No. You made it perfectly clear. I'm a failure that needs saving all the time".
Helen moved closer to Dash and hugged him, pulling him close to her as she said "Oh, honey, no. That's not what I meant. You're not a failure Dash".
Dash asked, "Then why did you need to save me".
Helen answered "Because we all need it sometimes. And what I meant by family was that we're there for each other when we need help. And I know that when I need help, I have my special little guy right there to save me".
Dash asked "Really. You really believe in me".
Helen answered "I do. So, stop this crying". She then wiped his tears away and said, "Let's go out and have breakfast". She then found Dash's homework and asked, "What's this".
Dash answered "My homework. I finished it all last night".
Helen was proud of Dash and said "See. Look what you can do when you put your mind to it. I know you'll be a great man and Super".
Dash hugged Helen and said, "Thanks mom".
Helen responded, "Anytime sweetie". She then sat on Dash's bed holding him for a little longer.
Bob knocked on Violet's door and said "Violet, It's dad".
Violet retorted "I'm busy".
Bob said "Please, sweetheart. I want to talk".
Violet retorted "I have to pack".
Bob said "I know, and I know you'll have a great day today with Tony. I just hope that last night doesn't ruin your day with him. It wasn't your fault, and it was just something that happens. I know it's not great. It wasn't great my first time or this time but when we fall, we gotta get back up or the villains will win. So, please don't let this one bad experience ruin all the great work you have done. You're Invisigirl and you're gonna save the world one day. You just need to give yourself a chance".
Bob was about to leave when Violet opened the door and said "I've got some time before Tony's parents come. Can we finish breakfast together".
Bob smiled and said "Of course".
They all went back to the kitchen and Bob and Helen looked at each other happily that they helped their children. They began to eat when they all heard on the TV the news reported say "I'm here live outside the Municiberg bank, where a robbery by an unknown assailant occurred last night. An attempt by the Super family known as the Incredibles attempted to stop him but he used his own powers to escape. The bank robber stripped the bank clean and has left no sign of where he or the money that he stole are. Municiberg bank has told its customers of the situation and are hoping that the police or any Super can help retrieve the money. We've talked to customers who have". The reporter than stopped and said "Hold on. Wait a moment. We're getting live reports of the bank robber right now".
The bank robber appeared on the screen but this time in a super suit. He said "Hello people of Municiberg. I'm the Timemaster and I've taken your money and if you want it back then I call on the heroes Mr Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone to come and take it back. That is if they can defeat me. They'll pay for what they did to my father, Supehunter. And I invite them back to the scene of the crime. Where they killed him. So, come on heroes. Save the day". Timemaster then stopped his message.
The news reported said "That was the bank robber. A villain by the name of Timemaster. And he is calling on the heroes Mr Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone to stop him. We'll have more reports as this situation develops".
Mr Incredible turned the TV off and Bob and Helen looked at each other. Dash and Violet were curious and Dash asked "Mom. Dad. What was he talking about".
Helen and Bob looked to each other and Helen said "Uh, kids. In the past your father and I had a run in with a villain named Supehunter".
Violet interrupted "Who you killed".
Bob responded defensively "It wasn't like that. It was like". Bob paused before thinking and saying "Syndrome. Remember, how he tried to take Jack-Jack and then fell into his own engine".
Violet remarked "You did throw the car at him though".
Bob responded "See, sometimes you need to do things that you're not happy to do but I had no idea he'd fall back into his own turbine. That's why I aimed to just stop him but, he then fell and".
Violet said "That's different. You weren't trying to kill him. You only wanted to stop him. And Edna says that he wouldn't have if he wasn't wearing a cape".
Jack-Jack said, "No capes".
Helen said "Kids I know it's not a nice thing to hear, or even to do but he was trying to kill us. We had no intention of killing him. But he had this machine. His plan was to wipe out all Supers and destroy what makes us Super".
Violet said, "Turn you into ordinary people".
Bob answered "Exactly".
Helen said "He hated Supers and wanted them all dead. Why he chose the name Supehunter, but it was very difficult when we could stretch".
Bob added "Lift heavy objects".
Helen said, "Or blast ice with our hands. He wanted to get rid of us and this was his way to do it".
Bob said "But we weren't going to let him. All of us Supers were united to stop him and his machine. But unfortunately, every Super that went against him failed. So, we lost one of us in every fight against him. But then he announced that he was ready to activate his machine worldwide and purge the world of all Supers".
Helen continued "So, your dad, me, and Lucius decided to team up and stop him. We burst into his lair and even though he tried to stop us, we worked together and was able to stop him".
Violet retorted "By killing".
Helen answered "That was not our intention. But in a last-ditch effort to make sure he succeeded he tethered the machine to his own life. So, as long as he was alive the machine would activate and purge the world of Supers".
Bob said "We had to make a choice. We had to save both Supers and the lives of the innocent that they will save. It was one that we weren't happy with".
Helen said "But we had to do it. We had no other choice".
Violet asked, "And now his son wants revenge".
Helen said "Kids, I know this looks bad".
Violet remarked sarcastically "What. That our parents our murderers. Actual murderers. No, not at all".
Helen said forcefully "Listen here young lady. We will not be spoken to like that. Especially about a time in our lives that was difficult for both me and your father".
Violet retorted "What. You going to kill me to".
Every was shocked and taken aback by Violet's comment. Helen became enraged and roared "Room. Now". Violet got up and without a word went straight to her room. As Violet climbed the stairs Helen went over and said "And you can forget about hanging out with Tony today. You are grounded".
Violet for a moment forgot about her day out with Tony and his family. Violet rushed back and pleaded "No mom please you can't".
Helen retorted "Oh, I'm mom now, am I. Well, you little lady can go straight to your room, and you are not permitted to leave until I say so, understand". Violet didn't answer and Helen yelled "Understand".
Violet answered "Yes mom, yes. I understand". Violet then turned and hurried back to her room upset.
Helen heard the door slam and Helen walked back over to Bob and began to cry. Bob held her before turning to his two sons and telling Dash "Dash, take Jack-Jack upstairs and play with him. We need a moment".
Dash accepted and said "Okay dad" before using his super speed to grab Jack-Jack and run to Jack-Jack's room.
Helen cried and said "I can't Bob. I can't deal with this. I can't".
Bob responded, "I know".
Helen said, "I still think about it, Bob".
Bob responded, "So do I".
Helen said, "What we did. What we could have done differently. I just always wished the kids would never find out".
Bob told her "So did I".
Helen said "Now they though. They know what we did".
Bob responded "But we had to. Remember, we had no other choice".
Helen responded "I know. I just wished we could have done it differently".
Bob said "We can't. We can't change what happened. No matter how much we want to".
Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack were listening and had never heard their parents so upset before. Violet said "We have to do something. I've never heard mom or dad like that before".
Dash asked "But how. It's in the past and we can't change the past".
Violet said, "But we can stop the guy that's out to kill them".
Dash asked, "Don't you think it's a bit dangerous going after the guy that is trying to kill mom and dad".
Violet answered "Yes, for them. And they'll be going after him. So, we have to stop him before they do and he'll never expect us to go, so we'll have the element of surprise on our hands".
Dash asked "But how are we going to do that. Mom and dad will never let us go".
Violet answered "Then we have to sneak out. They can't know what we're doing before we're gone".
Dash asked "And how are we going to do that with Jack-Jack. We're supposed to be looking after him".
Jack-Jack then vanished before reappearing and giggling at his siblings. Violet said "He'll never us coming. Especially Jack-Jack". Violet turned to Jack-Jack and said "Ja-Ja, would you like to come stop a bad guy".
Jack-Jack face turned to glee and exclaimed gleefully a gurgle that sounded like "Bad guys" before he moved his fist like he was punching.
Violet picked up Jack-Jack and said to her brothers "If I can't see Tony today. May as well stop a bad guy with my brothers".
Dash said, "Mom and dad aren't going to be happy with this".
Violet responded "No but you heard them down there. This has affected them in a way that we never imagined. And we, I made it worse. So, come on. Let's get our suits on and stop this villain that's after our parents".
Dash quickly rushed to his room and put his super suit on. Dash said "Quickdash is ready".
Violet said "Invisigirl, didn't take hers off. She thought she might need it on her day out with the Rydingers". Dash looked at her and Violet defended herself and said, "Come on, there hasn't been a single date with Tony in which some villain wasn't causing havoc". Violet then said "Watch this. Ja-Ja let's do the thing we were practising together. Remember invisible time". Violet turned invisible and Jack-Jack left the dimension".
Dash exclaimed "Cool. What are you doing".
Violet became visible and Jack-Jack then suddenly appeared in her arms. Violet answered "Just a little trick we've been working on. For you know when I have to be babysitting while mom and dad are chasing after villains, doing all of the important stuff. I go invisible, and he goes to whatever dimension he goes to when he disappears. He then follows me until I become visible again. That's when he appears in my arms. Isn't that right Ja-Ja".
Jack-Jack responded and gurgled "Ja-Ja".
Dash remarked "That is cool".
Violet said "Alright. We need to go. Ja-Ja, you ready". Jack-Jack nodded, and Violet said, "Invisible time". Violet then turned invisible, and Jack-Jack left the dimension. Violet then snuck herself out of the house and Jack-Jack followed her while Dash used his superspeed to get the car remote and get to the car without noticing. Violet asked, "Did you get it".
Dash answered with glee "Yeah".
Violet asked, "Were you see".
Dash responded by asking "Who do you take me for".
Violet responded "Good. Let's go".
Violet and Dash unlocked the car and the noise it made was heard by Bob and Helen. Bob asked, "What was that".
Helen asked, "Was that the car".
Bob responded, "Can't be the remote's right here".
Bob looked at where the remote was but couldn't find it. They then both heard the car start and ran outside to see Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack drive away from them. Helen called out "Vi, Dash". Helen turned to Bob and asked "Where are they going. Where did they take the car". Bob and Helen rushed back inside and up to their rooms. Helen found a note on Violet's bed and said "Bob. Come in here. Violet left a note". Bob rushed in and Helen read "Mom and dad. I'm sorry for what I said earlier. I didn't mean to upset you but after seeing how this has affected you, we have decided to help by stopping Timemaster ourselves. Be back soon. Don't be mad. We love you. Violet and Dash". She then stopped and said "Bob, we have to do something".
Bob and Helen rushed downstairs, and Bob called Lucius. Lucius answered and Bob said "Lucius, it's Bob and Helen. The kids have taken the car and are going after Timemaster. Suit up. We've got to end what we started a long time ago".
Lucius answered "On it. Pick you up ASAP. 15 tops". Lucius then hung up and went to collect his super suit before leaving to pick up Bob and Helen.
Bob put the phone down and Helen asked "What were they thinking. Why would they do this".
Bob answered, "I don't know but we better get our suits on before Lucius comes, if we're ever going to catch up". Bob and Helen put on their super suits and Helen began to pace. Bob told her "Lucius will be here soon, and we can go after the kids".
Helen exclaimed "What if we're too late. What if they're hurt. What if they're dead".
Bob held Helen and told her "Don't think like that. The kids are going to be okay".
Helen asked "Why did they do this Bob. Why did they run off and do this".
Bob answered, "I think they saw how much we were affected by the news and Violet's outburst that they thought they had to do something".
Helen responded "Why didn't they come to us. Why did they sneak off and put themselves in danger".
Bob answered, "They were just trying to help".
Helen retorted "They're just kids, Bob. Our kids. And they have put themselves in danger. We're horrible parents".
Bob held her and said "We're not horrible. You're the best mother those kids could ask for".
Helen retorted "Then why did they do this. Why did they steal the car and run off. If that's not horrible parenting, then I don't know what is".
They heard Lucius beep his horn outside and they ran to his car. They got in and Bob said, "They're heading to Supehunter's old lair, we need to go now".
Lucius asked, "Why did they".
Helen demanded "Just drive".
Lucius responded "Okay, okay. Just tell me on the way". Lucius then drove off heading to the old lair of Supehunter.
