Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack fell to the earth and screamed in terror as they did. Jack-Jack clung to Violet harder than he had ever before and she saw that the portal were shut, and their parents couldn't help them. Violet knew she had to not only save herself but her brothers and as she looked down to see Dash ahead of her, she knew she had to get him and herself in forcefields to protect them from the impact. She called out "Dash. Brace". She then created a force field in front of Dash which he hit and bounded off slowing his decent. He turned to see Violet and knew she was doing it to slow him down. He prepared himself for the next one and it was angled so he would slow down and be alongside her. He prepared himself for it and then Violet created it, and it put them level.
Violet then created forcefield around the three of them and Dash said, "I'll never say anything bad about your forcefields again". They slowed down and landed on a rooftop. Violet dropped the forcefield and Dash asked, "Where are we".
Violet answered, "I don't know but with the portal closed, we're on our own".
Dash said, "No mom, dad, or Lucius".
Jack-Jack became upset, and Violet said "No, we're on our own".
Dash asked, "What do we do".
Violet answered, "We stop the bad guy".
Dash asked, "But how do we do that".
Violet answered, "I don't know but he's here and came through the same portal we did so".
Dash interrupted "He could've created another one".
Violet responded, "Let's not worry about that. He's here and here for a reason. But what the reason is for I don't".
Dash answered "To stop mom and dad. He said that he wanted to stop them with his dad".
Violet responded "But how. I know he said but how. I know he creates portals and calls himself Timemaster, but do you seriously think he can Time". Violet was immediately interrupted by Universal man flying over them. He then swoops down and smashes into a stolen car that the police were chasing.
The kids stared in awe at the sight and Dash said, "I've never seen anyone do that before".
Violet responded "Yeah, with such confidence to. Dad says that Supers are so new and so scared to do any collateral damage that". She then realised and said, "Oh my God Dash we're in the past".
Dash retorted "I said so".
Violet responded, "Well I didn't believe it but". She then pauses and looks below and continues "Look at that".
Universal man tells the crowd below applauding "Thank you, thank you. Universal man deserves all the praise he gets". He then tells a woman "And if your free later, Universal man would love to go on a date with you".
The woman answers "I'm free tonight".
Universal man responds "Good, meet you at Chez hero at 8".
The woman asks, "Will you be wearing the suit".
Universal man answers "Of course, there's only Universal man".
Violet tells Dash "If we're in the past we could use some help from Supers".
Violet then creates a forcefield and floats them down. The crowd sees this, and a man says "Look, more Supers". Everyone rushes over to them and Universal man is unhappy that the attention of him. Violet lowers her forcefield and the man says "Wait. You're only children and I don't recognise you".
The woman besides him said "Yeah, me neither. I don't know any Super who has forcefields or even a child".
Universal man walks over and tells them "Children, it's nice that you came out here to help. But it's all handled. Universal man has saved the day".
Violet responded "Uh, actually, we're after a villain of our own who has escaped, and we need help".
Universal man interrupted and said "Sorry children. Universal man has too many people to save to help you out".
Dash retorted "But aren't you going out on a date with her tonight".
Universal man got embarrassed and said "Uh, gotta go". Universal man then flew away at superspeed.
Dash groaned and said, "Supers here, aren't as helpful as we thought".
Psycwave came running up behind them and called out "Universal man. Universal man. Wait up". She then saw that he was too far away and exclaimed "Uh mind blast. He got away again. I can never catch up to him or at least be close enough to possess him".
Violet asked, "You want to possess him".
Psycwave turned and read each of the kids minds. She then said, "Come on kids, I think we need to talk". Psycwave, Violet with Jack-Jack, and Dash ran down an alley and when Psycwave stopped she said "Don't worry. No one can hear us. Anyone that gets close will suddenly think that they left the stove on".
Dash said, "Cool power".
Psycwave said "So, you're from the future".
Violet asked, "How did you know that".
Psycwave answered "I'm Psycwave. I'm a mind reading. Well, not just that I have a lot of psychokinetic powers".
Violet asked "So, you can help us".
Psycwave answered "Stop Timemaster who travelled in time to stop your parents from ever stopping his father Supehunter from wiping out Supers. No, sorry". The kids were depressed about hearing this and Psycwave said "But I know where your mom is. She's set up by the residential district. Not a lot of Supers like to patrol near there. They think having a family or being a father is a waste of time and not for them. Don't like being anything besides a Super". She then mocked "Universal man is all there is. Don't tell me to take off the mask, there is no one underneath". She then realised what she was saying and said "Sorry. Just having a hard time recently".
Violet asked, "I'm assuming it's the man you were wanting to possess earlier".
Psycwave responded "I don't want to control him. I don't want to control anybody. Unless I have to. I just want him to take five minutes to listen to me, but he refuses, every time I tried, he runs away or flies. He believes that a relationship should be held with me and Universal man. Not the man beneath, the one I know is there. The one I've read. But no, he gets out because he has such low self-esteem that he believes no one will like the real him. And if he let me help him, he'd realise that the real him is a really great guy and likeable. He'd even get to meet his son but no, he pushed me away and is alone like he'll always be if he carries on like this". She then realised she was blurting out more of her life and said "Sorry, I'm sure. I know you have better things to do then listening to a single mom rant about the man that left her".
Violet put her hand on Psycwave's shoulder and said "It's okay. You just want to help your son".
Psycwave was shocked because this was correct and asked "How did you know that. You don't have any psychokinetic powers as well do you".
Violet answered "No. But I know my mom. And the only time she'd be trying this hard to do something was if it was for one of us".
Psycwave smiled and answered "I do. I love my son, and I'll do anything for him. He's just been asking about his father a lot. He's like any fatherless boy and craves a male role figure in his life. Something that I obviously can't provide. I guess that's why he's been idolising your father so much. The strongest, kindest, and most noble of all of us Supers. There's nothing that Mr Incredible won't do for people. It's why he's been begging me to take him to see him so much. He wants to be just like him and use his intelligence to save people despite not having any powers. He's even created this little super suit of his own and is calling himself Incrediboy". She then looked at her watched and exclaimed "Oh my. Is that the time. I gotta go or I'll be late picking him up from school". She then began to run off before she turned and said to the kids "Good luck with finding your mom and stopping Timemaster. I wish I could help more".
Violet responds, "No. You've already done enough". She then turned to Dash and said, "Come on, we need to find mom". Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack ran through the streets of Municiberg and every now and again heard sonic blasts and sure heroes flying through the skies. They were also taken notice of but for the first time not as an unusual thing but as a crucial member of society. None of the kids had ever felt like that before, all being born after Supers become illegal. They made it to the residential district and Violet said "Okay. Be on the lookout. Mom will be around here somewhere".
Jack-Jack saw his mother first and exclaimed "Momma".
Violet and Dash turned to see their mom on the roof of a house in her old Elastigirl super suit and staring at another house. Dash said "It's mom. She's on the roof".
Violet remarked "And she's staring at our old house".
Violet with Jack-Jack, and Dash ran towards and her and when they stood in the middle of the road in front of her. They waved their arms and exclaimed "Hey. Hey. Hey".
Jack-Jack said "Momma".
Elastigirl noticed the kids trying to get her attention and she looked around and seeing no one there, she pointed to herself wanting to know if they were trying to get her attention. Violet and Dash both screamed "Yeah".
Violet said "Mo". She then stopped and screamed "We need to talk to you".
Elastigirl jumped down from the roof and landed in front of them. Elastigirl asked "What do you kids wants".
Jack-Jack said "Momma".
He then used his powers to float towards Elastigirl and Violet exclaimed "Jack-Jack no".
Elastigirl caught Jack-Jack and Jack-Jack attempted to say and gurgled "Hi mommy".
Elastigirl asked "Why is this baby calling me mommy".
Neither Violet or Dash knew what to say and Jack-Jack said excitedly "Momma".
Elastigirl responded "I'm sorry cutie, but I'm not your mommy".
Jack-Jack was very confused, and Violet said "Well, the thing about that is".
Dash blurted "We're your kids and we've come from the future to save all Supers".
Violet exclaimed "Dash".
Dash responded "What. She needed to know".
Elastigirl passed Jack-Jack back to Violet and Elastigirl said "I don't know what you kids believe but I'm not your mother. Now, I'll help you find her if you want me to but".
Violet got annoyed and said "Urgh, yes you are. You're our mom and we need your help. A supervillain from the future has come back to stop you before you stop his father from getting rid of all supers. And we need your help to stop him".
Elastigirl responded "Uh. I'm supposed to believe you right".
Violet and Dash screamed "yes".
Elastigirl responded "I'm sorry. I don't know what game you're playing but I'm not going to pretend to be your mom. I'm not and I'm sure your real mom is out there and looking for you".
Dash said, "You are our mom and you're right in front of us".
Violet said "I know it's hard to believe but we are your kids. We're from the future and we need your help".
Elastigirl asked "Where am I".
Dash and Violet were confused and Dash asked "What".
Elastigirl said "If you're my children from the future than why aren't I with you".
Violet answered, "Because when Timemaster went through the portal, we got sucked in with him and you and dad stayed on the other side".
Elastigirl asked "Dad. Okay then, who did I marry".
Violet answered "Mr Incredible".
Elastigirl exclaimed in response "Mr Incredible. Mr Hotshot you mean. I marry and have three kids with that pig headed glory seeker". She then stated, "Now I really don't believe you". She then began to walk off and said "I'm through with this ridiculous game. I have a date tonight and I really don't want to be late".
Elastigirl began to walk away, and Dash called out "Mom, please".
Elastigirl turned back and said "Don't call me that. I'm not your mom and never will be".
Violet said "That house. The one you were looking at. We're going to live their one day. It gets blown up by a crashing jet but we're still going to live their one day. It's our home and where we were all a family".
Elastigirl told her "You're lying".
Violet responded "No I'm not. It's where we're going to live and".
Elastigirl shouted "No". She then calmed down and said "It's not. And you wanna know why I don't believe you. Because I will never be a mom. I don't want to be. Family is a weakness, and I don't want to have to stop chasing after a robber because one of you gets injured or a have to breastfeed. I'm a female super in a world dominated by men. I can't leave saving the world to them. I worked so hard to get where I am, and I can't lose it all just because I have to worry about you all the time". She then saw how hurt Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack were by her comment and relented telling them "I can't because I won't be any good. I'd be a horrible mom, and you wouldn't want me".
The kids saw how unsure their mother was about being a mom and Dash said, "You can't be a superhero if you aren't super when not being a hero".
Elastigirl looked up and asked, "Who told you that".
Dash answered, "Who do you think".
Violet said "You are a good mom, mom. And if you want proof, take Jack-Jack".
Violet passed Jack-Jack to Elastigirl and Elastigirl looked at Jack-Jack who said "Momma".
Jack-Jack then snuggled himself against Elastigirl and she looked at Jack-Jack and smiled seeing him so comfortable in her arms. She then looked up at Violet and Dash and said, "It's crazy but I believe you".
Dash asked "So, you're going to help us".
Elastigirl responded "You are my children".
Violet and Dash exclaimed "Mom" and ran up and hugged Elastigirl.
Elastigirl let go and passed Jack-Jack back to Violet and said, "Going to have to get used to that". She then said "So, kids, where do we start".
Violet answered "Timemaster wants to help his father Supehunter so do you know how to get to his lair".
Dash said, "We were there but the car did the driving".
Elastigirl answered "I know where it is. He's been causing a lot of havoc with his Super destroying machine. Turning all Supers back into ordinary humans". She then said "I guess I have to break off my date tonight, but I guess it doesn't matter since I'm going to marry Mr Incredible. Oh my, it's crazier than my children from the future".
Violet asked, "What's your date name".
Elastigirl answered "Bob, Bob Parr. But I guess that doesn't matter since I'll be falling for Mr Incredible". She then paused before saying "Doesn't get better the more I say it".
Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack looked to each other and Violet said "I don't think you have to worry about that. I think you'll very much enjoy this date".
Elastigirl realised and said, "You don't mean".
Violet said, "You're going to go on a different date tonight".
Dash said, "Stopping a villain, and his time travelling from destroying the future and all supers".
Violet said, "With the help of your kids from the future".
Dash continued "Oh, and Lucius, or Frozone".
Elastigirl remarked "What a first date a girl could ask for".
