I don't own Avengers or its characters. I only own Riley Stark and other OCs that appear in the story.

Take on the World

Chapter 37: Civil War

(Flashback)

It was night time in New York.

Riley stood outside the Moondance Diner, slurping on a kinder bueno milkshake while listening to the song 'Cheri Cheri Lady' by Modern Talking on her dark pink headphones.

The young brunette wore a black jacket with a topaz orange shirt, black jeans and maroon brown boots. Around her neck was a pink scarf.

Despite the excited looks she was getting from the people that were coming in and out of the diner, Riley was simply waiting for an incident to occur so that she can see a certain hero wearing a red and blue suit to show up.

The diner was located in Queens, New York which turned out to the location that Spider-Man was reported to appear more.

As she took a few sips of her milkshake, Tony contacted her on her headphones.

"Anything, Rye-Rye?"Tony asked.

"Nope."Riley answered with a bored look."45 minutes have passed and still no sign of the web crawler yet."

"I guess we're going to have to try 'the damsel in distress' act."Tony insisted.

An irritated groan escaped from Riley's mouth.

"Dad, please tell me you're not serious."Riley begged.

"Come on. You're a professional actress."Tony remarked confidently."Trust me."

Riley frowned in disapproval.

"Fine."Riley answered."I'll do it."

"That's my little super star."Tony praised.

Riley simply shook her head as she left the Moondance Diner to make her way to the dark streets of Queens.

As she walked by herself, the young brunette knew the possible dangers lurking around the streets if one was not careful of their surroundings.

But since Riley was an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and a heroine-in-training, she knew how to defend herself.

Riley didn't bother scream in terror when she came across a man pointing his gun at her.

The person in front of her wore a hoodie over his face, but under the streetlight, Riley could see that his features were covered with grime and dirt.

She assumed he had been waiting nearby, eager to attack someone as vulnerable as a teenaged girl like herself.

"Give me your phone."the man demanded.

Riley raised an eyebrow as the man pointed his gun at her.

"Excuse me?"Riley questioned with an unfazed look.

"Give me your phone."the man hissed."Give me your money, too."

Riley's gaze remained stern and calm.

"Or what?"Riley challenged."You'll shoot?"

Slowly, Riley raised her hands, surrendering.

In her left was her iPhone while her right hand free.

The attacker began approaching her.

Then her hands were closer to the gun and her attacker didn't even realise it, but just saw it as an act of submission.

Then, without a second to spare, Riley backhanded the aim of the gun, grabbing the wrist of the arm holding the weapon with the same hand.

The Stark heiress pulled his arm, bringing him closer to her as she punched him in the jaw and kicked him in the chest.

As the gun fell out of his grip, Riley kicked it to the side.

Before her attacker could fight back, a stream of webs pulled him onto the concrete.

Spider-Man swung down from seemingly nowhere, standing tall and proud.

"You know, I don't know too much about girls."Spider-Man informed."I don't think being awesomely tough is gonna score you a date with one."

Riley's eyes widened at the sight of Spider-Man.

Where the hell did he come from?

When the man tried to attack Spider-Man, the masked hero shot his white webs at the streetlight above them before swinging to the skies before kicking the man down again.

Riley just watched in silent as Spider-Man saved the day.

Once the man was webbed to the ground, unable to move any further, Spider-Man turned to Riley.

"Are you alright, uh, ma'am?"Riley asked worriedly.

Riley slowly nodded before she looked down at herself and then back at the masked hero.

"Well, I'm still in one piece."Riley replied.

Spider-Man was somewhat alarmed by the brunette's response.

"Are you sure?"Spider-Man questioned."That was kind of insane. Are you hurt?"

Riley shook her head.

"Just because bad things happen doesn't mean you have to let them control you."Riley informed."Thanks for, uh, doing all that back there."

"It's all in a day's work!"Spider-Man remarked."You looked like you had it handled, but it didn't feel right leaving a pretty lady alone to fend for herself like that!"

Riley raised an eyebrow at Spider-Man's declaration.

"Not-Not that I'm hitting on you!"Spider-Man added nervously."I mean, you're pretty, but I just—"

A light laugh escaped Riley's mouth.

"You're Spider-Man, right?"Riley chuckled."I've seen you on YouTube."

The masked hero saluted her, trying to get her to crack a smile.

"At your service!"Spider-Man stated.

Riley smiled at Spider-Man, eyeing him curiously.

"You know, I was kinda hoping you to be a grown man."Riley sneered."But you're clearly around my age."

Spider-Man chuckled at how nonchalant the Stark heiress was being.

"You know, you really shouldn't be walking around by yourself at night."Spider-Man exclaimed before gesturing towards the attacker, who was still webbed on the ground."There's a lot of dangerous people, like that guy."

This caused Riley to frown.

"Just because I'm a girl that doesn't clearly mean I don't know how to defend myself, Bug Boy."Riley retorted.

Spider-Man put his hands up in defence.

"I-I-I never said that you could!"Spider-Man assured quickly."I mean sometimes could be more than just burglars-"

Riley simply let out a light snicker.

"Relax. I'm just teasing you."Riley assured and stuck her hand out."I'm Riley."

"Spider-Man."Spider-Man responded.

Spider-Man and Riley shook hands with each other.

The moment he and Riley stopped shaking hands, Spider-Man stepped away further.

He seemed a little disappointed that their little chat and walk was over.

"Right, yeah."Spider-Man declared."You better head home now."

"Yeah."Riley agreed.

Riley continued to watch Spider-Man as he awkwardly stepped away.

She flung a hand out to help as he stumbled over the edge of the fire hydrant.

But Spider-Man was quick to regain his balance, chuckling nervously.

He didn't sound like an adult.

He definitely like a boy around her age.

"I'm good! I'm good!"Spider-Man assured awkwardly."Stay safe, Riley Stark!"

Spider-Man waved at Riley as he walked away.

"Be sure to arrive home safely. I'll just-"Spider-Man started as he ran backwards into the pedestrian light, making Riley covered her to giggle."Um-yeah! Have a good night!"

And before he could embarrass himself further, Spider-Man threw up his arm.

A web glistened out into the night and seconds later, he disappeared upwards towards the city-scape with it.

Riley simply smirked as she watched Spider-Man leave before she made her way to the car that was waiting for her and take her back to the Avengers Tower.

Riley frowned in disapproval as Tony drove his orange Lamborghini to Queens, New York to head to Peter's house.

"It's sadistic and cruel!"Riley complained dramatically, making Tony roll his eyes."You can't make me join your team! I love my double life as a superhero!"

"Quit being overdramatic, Rye-Rye. And, yes, I can."Tony informed with a smirk."Because I'm your father, you have to do what I say until you're eighteen. It's the law."

Riley groaned in dismay as she covered her face.

Why didn't she ran off with Steve, Sam and Bucky when she had the chance?

When the Lamborghini parked outside Peter's house, Tony and Riley stepped out of the car.

Riley stood beside her father as he knocked on the door.

The door opened almost immediately and May appeared, staring wide eyed, in front of the two Starks.

Riley gave May a wave while Tony smiled brightly at her.

"Hi, Miss Parker."Riley greeted.

"Oh."May responded with a smile."Mr Stark and Riley, what can I do for you?"

"We're here about your nephew. It's nothing serious."Tony assured."He's just part of a foundation, charity thing."

"Let's talk inside."May insisted, moving out of the doorway, allowing the two Starks to pass."Please, come in."

Riley followed her father into the small apartment, where they both sat on the couch.

Once the two Starks were settled on the couch, the young brunette saw Peter's aunt walk into the room with with a tray that had a pitcher of lemonade glasses and a plate of McVitie's Hobnobs Biscuits.

After setting the tray down, May took a seat beside Tony.

The two adults started talking and Rikey stayed quiet and avoided conversation as she sipped her glass of lemonade and fiddled with her bracelet.

Riley sat there and listened to her dad tell May about the September Foundation, which was a real thing, but May's nephew wasn't really apart of it.

Although, he told her he would talk more about it with her nephew.

Soon after the adults were deep in conversation, they heard the door open.

Riley's head was the first to turn, just in time to see Peter set his things down in the kitchen.

"Hey, Aunt May."Peter greeted.

"Oh, hey, how was school today?"May asked.

"Okay."Peter answered."There's this crazy car parked outside-"

Peter turned his head and his eyes immediately flickered over to Riley and Tony.

His eyes widened at the realisation that Tony Stark was in his apartment.

Tony smirked at Peter's reaction.

"Oh, Peter."Tony remarked.

Peter took out his earphones and stepped closer.

"Um, what-what are you doing here?"Peter asked excitedly.

After they finished talking about the September Foundation, Tony and Peter went into Peter's room while May and Riley sat awkwardly on the couch.

"How have you been holding up, Mrs Parker?"Riley asked, trying to build a conversation."I'm very sorry about what happened to Mr Parker."

"It's alright."May assured with a small smile."It was kind of hard celebrating for me and Peter to celebrate our first Christmas without him. But I know the last thing Ben wanted for us was to keep grieving for him."

May got up and headed towards the kitchen while Riley looked at her with a hint of sadness.

"Though we all do have a lot to give thanks for."May declared as she began to wash the dishes."Family, friends and relative good health."

Riley nodded in agreement as she stayed on the couch before she began texting Gwen on her iPhone.

Riley's message: Hey, Gwen. How are you doing?

Gwen's message: Great. Right now in ESU. So can't talk much at the moment.

Riley's message: No problem. We can talk later.

Gwen's message: Thanks. Because I have to tell you something important.

Riley raised an eyebrow out of curiosity at Gwen's message.

What could this important thing that her best friend wanted to tell her?

Did Gwen finally got herself a boyfriend?

Riley sat on the couch for about two more minutes until glancing at May.

"Um, Mrs Parker, do you mind if I use your bathroom?"Riley asked.

"No, not at all."May assured as she pointed Riley in the direction of the bathroom."It's just right over there."

"Thanks."Riley thanked.

Riley then got up from the couch.

When she was in the bathroom, the Stark heiress locked the door behind her and started texting on her iPhone again.

But this time she was texting Steve.

She soon stopped texting on her iPhone when she could hear her dad and Peter talking from Peter's room.

"You ever been to Germany?"Tony asked.

"No."Peter responded.

"Oh, you'll love it!"Tony insisted.

"I can't go to Germany."Peter declared.

"Why not?"Tony questioned.

"I...I've got...homework."Peter admitted.

Riley smirked upon hearing that Peter didn't want to mess up his school reputation.

However, the smug smile on her face dropped on the next respond that her father said.

"Listen, kid, my daughter's about your age."Tony informed."And, she's single."

Riley's jaw dropped when she heard those words come out of her father's mouth.

"QUE DIABLOS?!"Riley thought angrily.

Her father asking Peter to date her without her permission.

Riley was furious with Tony for selling her out to a boy that was just a friend to her.

She was so upset that she wanted to storm out of the bathroom and into Peter's room to confront her father.

But, she decided she would do that later.

So, she walked out of the bathroom and waited for her dad to come out of Peter's room.

While she waited, she started texting Pepper, telling her what she heard and how angry she was.

She was just about to press send on her next text when she heard Peter's door open.

Riley flashed Peter a small smile and when she saw her father, she glared at him.

She pushed herself off the couch and walked towards her dad.

"Dad, can I speak to you, privately?"Riley insisted with a hint of anger.

Tony nodded as Riley grabbed his wrist and pulled him into Peter's room.

"What?"Tony asked.

"I can't believe you! I can't believe you just sold me out! And to a guy that I just see as a friend!"Riley argued, her voice low and angry at the same time."You took me here to persuade him, if he needed, but I don't know you meant this way!"

"I'm sorry, Rye-Rye, I just really wanted you to come with me and couldn't think of another reason to bring you."Tony stated."And, besides, I'm not actually going to let him go out with you. You're too young to date."

Riley frowned. "Dad, I'm fifteen."

"You're still too young."Tony scolded.

"That's funny coming from you, Tony Stark."Riley retorted.

Tony gave Riley a small chuckle.

"We're gonna take him out to dinner, okay?"Tony insisted."I'll go ask his Aunt May, you go talk to him."

"I understand, daddy dearest."Riley muttered.

And at that, they left Peter's room. Tony went to talk to Aunt May and Riley was left make awkward conversation with Peter.

"So, uh, about what my dad said he clearly meant we can have lunch together, Peter."Riley exclaimed firmly, trying to hide that she was embarrassed."Having dinner with you would mean a date and dates are for boyfriends. But we are just friends and friends only have lunches together."

Peter let out a small scoff.

"Y-Yeah. Of course."Peter agreed, secretly feeling awkward as well on the situation."I knew that."

Tony planned on taking Peter and Riley to a fancy restaurant, so they ate at a Japanese cuisine place known as Izakaya Nana around Peter's neighbourhood and ate there.

Riley ate her tonkotsu ramen using her chopsticks while Peter munched on his crispy chilly tempura shrimp while sparing glances at each other.

Tony had left them alone and decided to go to another part of the restaurant, so that the two of them could spent time together.

"So Peter do you play any video games at home?"Riley asked.

"Oh, yeah."Peter agreed with a smile."My favourite video games are Super Mario Galaxy 2, Halo: Reach and Street Fighter."

"You play Street Fighter? So do I."Riley chuckled."Though I usually play as the female character named Juri. Mostly because of her killer-kicking move set and divisive personality."

"Cool."Peter praised."I play as Ken Masters."

"So you're really are him."Riley sneered."That Bug Boy thing."

"It's Spider-Man."Peter corrected with a smirk, his voice was a bit low so that only Riley could hear him."But yeah. I am him."

"Exactly how did you get the strength, speed and agility of a spider?"Riley asked with a hint of curiosity."

This caused Peter to let out a small yet fragile chuckle.

"Believe it or not, it was on the trip to the public exhibition of a device called the Isotope Genome Accelerator. A spider must've been in the room and got irradiated by the accelerator during its demonstration."Peter exclaimed."When that happened, the arachnid went on my hand and bit me."

A wince escaped from Riley's mouth.

"Ouch."Riley mumbled."So after that you created your costume and web shooter, you went out to start chasing bad guys?"

Peter shook his head.

"Not exactly. After realising I got powers, an ad offering a cash prize for lasting three minutes in the ring with the wrestler named Joseph "Crusher" Hogan caught my attention."Peter explained as he fiddled with one of his chopsticks."So I decided this would be a good way to test my powers. Wearing a mask to avoid humiliation in case of defeat, I used my powers and easily defeated my opponent."

"You defeated a wrestler?"Riley chuckled.

"That's right. Believe it or not, TV producer Maxwell Shiffman was observing my performance and then convinced me to go on television with my 'act'."Peter explained."Designing a full costume, fabricating synthetic spider's web and wrist-mounted web-shooters, I debuted as 'Spider-Man' to become an immediate sensation."

Riley became surprised at Peter's declaration.

"Whoa."Riley murmured with an amused look."To think all of this happened when I was in Sokovia."

The two teenagers started hitting it off, there were hardly anymore awkward glances.

Only them, talking, getting to know each other more.

Just as they started on a new topic, Tony came back from wherever it was he went off to and broke up Peter and Riley's conversation.

"We should probably take Peter back now."Tony stated.

"Okay."Riley replied, her tone a bit sadder.

"Sure."Peter agreed with a small smile.

The wind blew gently around Riley, who sat above the roof on the terminal in Leipzig-Halle Airport; an international airport in Schkeuditz, Saxony.

Riley wore her Jewel Star suit as her visor caught sight of where Steve, Sam, Bucky, Clint, Pietro and Wanda were.

"Dad, they're here."Riley informed.

"Great job, Rye-Rye."Tony praised."But remember what I told you-"

"Yes. Stay away from the fighting."Riley interrupted with a frown."Don't get hurt and only fight if I absolutely have to. I know, I know, we went over it a million times. Can we just get over it?"

"Absolutely."Tony agreed.

Riley stood up to stand on the terminal as she saw her father and Rhodey arrive in the airport to confront Steve.

"Wow, it's so weird how you run into people at the airport."Tony complemented and looked at Rhodey."Don't you think that's weird?"

"Definitely weird."Rhodey agreed.

"Hear me out, Tony."Steve instructed."That doctor, the psychiatrist, he's behind all of this."

Then T'Challa, clad in his Black Panther suit, jumped over a truck to land in front of Steve.

"Captain."T'Challa said.

"Your Highness."Steve replied.

Riley frowned as she listened to her father's conversation with Steve through her communication systems.

She didn't like what was going to occur in the Airport.

A civil war between the Avengers.

And it's all because of those wretched Sokovia Accords.

"Anyway, Ross gave me 36 hours to bring you in."Tony informed."That was 24 hours ago. Can you help a brother out?"

"You're after the wrong guy."Steve informed.

"Your judgement is askew."Tony retorted."Your old war buddy killed innocent people yesterday."

"And there are five more super soldiers just like him."Steve informed."I can't let the doctor find them first, Tony. I can't."

"Steve."

Steve turned around and saw Natasha giving him a small grim look.

"Steve, you know what's about to happen."Natasha warned."Do you really wanna punch your way out of this one?"

Tony rolled his eyes.

"All right, I've run out of patience."Tony declared before giving Peter his signal."Underoos!"

Then Spider-Man fired his web shooters to take Steve's shield before tying his hands together.

Steve's shield was pulled to Spider-Man's hands as he flipped onto a truck.

"Nice job, kid."Tony praised.

"Thanks."Peter remarked bashfully."I could have stuck the landing
a little better, it's just...New suit. It's nothing, Mr Stark. It's perfect. Thank you."

"Yeah, we don't really need to start a conversation."Tony commented.

"Okay."Peter answered and looked at Steve to salute him."Cap. Captain. Big fan. I'm Spider-Man."

"Yeah, we'll talk about it later."Tony instructed."Good job."

Steve looked at Tony.

"You've been busy."Steve assumed.

"And you've been a complete idiot."Tony snarled."Dragging in Clint. 'Rescuing' Wanda and Pietro from a place they don't even want to leave, a safe place. I'm trying to keep…I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart."

On hearing this, Riley face palmed in annoyance.

Her father was wrong to rely on the Government to control the Avengers.

Bruce was definitely be against the rules of the Sokovia Accords since the Government will treat the Hulk like a caged animal.

Even Thor since he wouldn't want his friends on Earth to be imprisoned and treated as threats.

"Where are Uncle Thor and Uncle Bruce when you really need them?"Riley muttered in disappointment.

"You did that when you signed."Steve admitted.

"Alright, we're done."Tony scowled angrily."You're gonna turn Barnes over, you're gonna come with us, now, because it's us or a squad of J-SOC guys with no compunction about being impolite."

Steve held up his hands and an arrow shot through the webbing that was around Steve's hands.

"Alright, Hank."Steve declared.

Riley's jaw dropped open as Dr. Henry 'Hank' Pym (Ant-Man) transformed into his bigger version as he flipped Spider Man over.

Hank jumped next to Steve with the shield in hand.

"I believe this is yours, Captain America."Hank commented.

Tony activated his helmet as his display screen showed the location of Pietro and Wanda.

"Oh, great. All right, there's two on the parking deck. Two of them are the Maximoffs, I'm gonna grab them. Rhodey, you want to take Cap?"

Seeing she needed to help her friends, Riley immediately flew off to find Clint and the Maximoffs.

The last thing she wanted was them to be sent to prison.

She had to help them escape.

Riley flew off to where Clint and the Maximoffs', just in time to see the trio running.

Pietro glared at Riley as she flew over to them.

"What the hell, Riley?!"Pietro scowled."You're supposed to be on our side!"

"Of course, I am at your side, Uncle Pietro!"Riley snapped.

Riley activated the missiles of her suit to fire back the missiles that her father sent to force her friends to stop running.

"Dad, are you trying to stop them or just blow them to bits?!"Riley argued.

"Sorry."Tony apologised in a casual tone.

Tony brought his attention on the Maximoff twins.

"Wanda, I think you hurt Vision's feelings."Tony remarked sarcastically and glanced at Pietro."And you're supposed to know better, Pietro. Go back to the safe house."

Pietro frowned. "Not happening."

Wanda glared at Tony.

"You locked us in our room."Wanda scowled.

Tony held his hands up.

"Okay. First, that's an exaggeration. Second, I did it to protect you both."Tony declared and looked at Clint."Hey, Clint."

Clint simply frowned while drawing his bow.

"Hey, man."Clint responded.

"Clearly, retirement doesn't suit you."Tony informed."You got tired of shooting golf?"

"Well, I played 18, I shot 18."Clint said before firing an arrow at Tony in which was deflected."Just can't seem to miss."

"Eh, first time for everything."Tony complemented.

Clint smirked. "Made you look."

Suddenly, Wanda began to bring cars from the garage behind him down.

Tony tried to deflect them, but he was suddenly blocked under a pile of cars.

Clint, Pietro and Wanda resumed their running as Riley looked down at Tony.

"Don't worry, dad! I still love you!"Riley assured firmly."It's just the Government that I don't trust to do anything right!"

"That's reassuring."Tony praised sarcastically.

Clint, Wanda and Pietro ran to the other side of the airport as Steve, Bucky, Hank and Sam joined them.

But then Vision fired a beam from his mind stone causing Team Cap to pause from their tracks.

"Captain Rogers."Vision said as Tony and the rest of his team made it to stand behind Vision."I know you believe what you're doing is right. But for the collective good you must surrender now."

On the other side of the airport stood Team Iron Man; Tony, Riley, Natasha, Peter, Rhodey, Vision and T'Challa.

Seven against seven.

The two groups stared at each other.

Riley looked at Tony with a worried look.

"Dad, please don't this."Riley pleaded."I don't want to hurt them."

Natasha became almost hesitant at Riley's words.

"Relax, Rye-Rye."Tony murmured."You're not really taking part of the fight, remember?"

Sam looked at Steve.

"What do we do, Cap?"Sam asked.

"We fight."Steve responded.

Natasha sighed. "This is gonna end well."

The two teams began to walk toward each other with grim determination etched on their faces.

No one wanted to fight, but both teams thought they were right in what they believed in.

"They're not stopping."Peter warned.

"Neither are we."Tony admitted.

Once Steve and Tony began fighting, everyone followed suit.

Rhodey and Sam were flying around fighting while Clint shot arrows at Vision.

Bucky and Pietro fought T'Challa as Natasha threw Hank aside.

Wanda threw items at Peter to slow down his web shots.

Riley stayed away from a lot of the fighting, but she kept a close enough distance to keep an eye on Peter.

She would go where ever he went to make sure he didn't get hurt too badly.

The Stark heiress munched on a Ferrero Hanuta wafer bar while sitting on top of a van.

When Steve threw Peter against an airplane hallway, he noticed in his peripheral vision Riley sitting and eating nearby.

He cocked his head and looked at her with his brows furrowed in confusion.

Riley smirked and saluted to Steve with her free hand.

"Hey, Uncle Steve."Riley greeted.

"What are you doing here, Riley?"Steve asked.

"Staying out of all the fight due to my dad's request."Riley answered in disappointment, taking another bite on her chocolate bar."By the way, it doesn't seem all of your team members will get out of this one."

Steve watched as Pietro fought against T'Challa, only for the speedster to be thrown into a mini bus.

The super soldier then saw Peter getting up and threw his shield at the legs holding up the plane hallway, making it drop on Peter.

But, Peter caught it and held it steady above him.

"You got heart, kid."Steve praised."Where you from?"

"Queens."Peter answered.

"Brooklyn."Steve admitted.

Steve went off to join Bucky as Riley quickly used her repulsors to destroy the plane hallway to set Peter free.

"Thanks, Riley!"Peter thanked.

"Don't mention it, partner."Riley declared with a wink.

Both Peter and Riley watched in awe as Hank became a giant and grabbed Rhodey.

"Holy shit/Bloody hell!"Peter and Riley muttered in unison.

"Okay, tiny dude is big now."Rhodey warned nervously."He's big now."

Steve and Bucky smiled at seeing Hank big.

"I guess that's the signal."Steve assumed.

"Way to go, Tic Tac!"Sam praised.

"Give me back my Rhodey!"Tony snapped.

Hank threw Rhodey which Peter webbed after him.

The giant man then kicked a bus toward T'Challa.

Vision blasted the bus in two to save T'Challa from getting hit.

Hank was doing awesome as he would grab things to fly around, almost taking Rhodey, Tony, and Peter out.

Riley couldn't help but find it slightly amusing.

"Something just flew in me!"Hank shouted.

Vision fired a shining beam of energy from his mind stone and the control tower collapsed toward the entrance of the hangar.

Wanda struggled to slow its collapse, but Pietro ran to his younger twin sister's aide, done fighting as he hated watching her be hurt.

Riley flew in the sky and fired her repulsors at Tony, making her father reflect them with his own.

"Rye-Rye, I told you not to-"Tony scolded.

"Screw the Sokovia Accords and the Government! This is wrong, dad!"Riley retorted angrily."All of this is!"

"You don't understand!"Tony argued."I'm doing this to protect the Avengers! To protect you!"

"This is not protecting, dad! It's imprisoning!"Riley snapped, her warm brown eyes flashing a glint of magenta pink for a moment."You're forgetting the Government was preparing to nuke New York to stop the Chitauri!"

"I am not going to say it again, Rye-Rye."Tony warned."Stay out of this."

Tony flew off to help Peter since he didn't want to fight his eldest daughter.

Riley noticed Peter wrapping his webs around Hank's legs.

Before she could warn him, Tony and Rhodey knocked into Hank's jaw and sent him flying backward.

Hank went back to his normal size with a loud groan.

"Does anyone have any orange slices?"Hank muttered in pain.

Riley noticed her visor giving her a signal and it showed her that Natasha let Bucky and Steve go, making her grin in approval.

"Well done, Auntie Nat."Riley murmured.

The Stark heiress flew back in the ground as she noticed Pietro, Wanda and Hank were down while Tony checked on Peter.

Riley gasped in delight as she watched Steve and Bucky flee in the Quinjet.

"Go, Team Cap!"Riley praised proudly.

Riley took off to follow the Quinjet in order to get Tony and Rhodey off of its flanks.

Sam sent flares at Rhodey as Riley sent her own at Tony.

Tony glared back at his daughter before making his thrusters faster.

She took off following him.

"Riley!"Sam shouted."Watch out!"

Riley didn't hesitate to duck as Vision sent a beam of light.

Instead of it hitting her like it was meant to, it went right into Rhodey's core.

Riley gasped in shock as Rhodey began to fall in complete darkness.

"Uncle Rhodey!"Riley yelled out.

Riley turned around, going straight down as she tried to reach Rhodey in time.

The young brunette had almost grabbed his hand when he landed in a heap on the grassy plains.

Tony landed next to Riley, ripping off Rhodey's helmet as his own retracted.

Riley stood a couple of inches away from her father and Rhodey.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y, vitals?"Tony asked.

"Heartbeat detected."F.R.I.D.A.Y responded."Emergency medical is on its way."

Sam swooped down as he gave Tony an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry."Sam apologised.

Tony blasted Sam backward from his palm.

When Riley went to stand to check on Sam, Tony grabbed her wrist while giving a strict look.

"You are so grounded, young lady."Tony warned.

From her visor, Riley simply glared at her father.

"Better having helped out my friends than betraying them for corrupted politics."Riley retorted.
