Chapter 27-The Fall of the farm

Glenn's P.O.V

The group stared at the herd as it continue to move towards the farm. "We prepared for this," Glenn says.

"Hate to tell you, Glenn. But they are blocking our exit," Merle says.

"We can use the cars, try and divide the herd up," Rick says.

"Everybody knows what car they're in, we need to get the herd on each side of the field. Dale, get the R.V. Get the kids, Lori, and Carol and if you have to, go through the damn field and go out Hershel's farm. We'll meet you at the highway," Glenn tells everybody who nods. "Alright," Glenn says. "Let's go."

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl starts the bike and Amy climbs on behind him. "Probably be safer in one of the cars," Daryl tells her.

"Start driving," Amy says and Daryl smirks as he starts to drive. He drives past the gate and towards the edge of the fence. He turns the bike to the side and removes his handgun and shoots the first walker through the head and Amy starts to shoot them with her rifle. "We'll run out of ammo before we make a dent!" Amy shouts.

"We ain't trying to kill 'em all. We just need to get their attention, the farm is lost," Daryl says as the walkers break through the fence. He drives the bike away and some of the walkers follow. "Shoot them the best you can!' Daryl shouts and Amy nods.

Madison's P.O.V

Madison drove the drove as Travis and Alicia leaned out the windows shooting walkers. Daniel and Ofelia were in the back of the truck shooting walkers. Madison turned the car as Alicia shot a walker through the head. In the back of the truck, Daniel and Ofelia fire their guns as Madison drives over walkers. "There's to many of them," Alicia says.

"We just need to keep them busy," Madison says. "Try to draw them apart, give Dale enough time to get out,"

Alicia nods as her mother continues to drive.

Otis's P.O.V

Otis stood by Hershel as the two men stood in front of the house shooting walkers. "Hershel, Otis, we gotta go," Lori says.

"Get in the car, we'll catch up!" Otis shouts as he turns and looks at Patricia and Lori, Beth, Jimmy, Carol, Jenner, Mandy, and Jimmy stood by the door with Carl and Sophia. "GO!"

Lori nods as they run towards the R.V as Dale pulls up. Otis turns and shoots another walker when he hears a scream. He turns his head and looks towards the R.V and sees a walker biting into Patricia's neck as Jimmy and Lori pull the blond away from the woman.

"NO!" Otis shouts as he moves towards his wife as walker begins to surround.

"Otis!" Hershel shouts but Otis doesn't stop as he continues to shoot. He shoots another walker as a walker comes up beside him and bites into his arm. He screams as he hits the walker and shoots it. He continues to move towards Patricia and shoots another one until no more around them. He bends down beside Patricia who was dead. Otis screams as a walker grabs his shoulder and bites into it. He hits the walker away and shoots it with his hand gun. He aims his gun at Patricia and shoots her in the head before putting the gun under his chin and fires.

Daniel's P.O.V

The truck pulls up to the farm and Daniel shoots another walker in the head. "Dale's out," Travis says. "Madison, follow him," Travis tells Madison who nods. A walker grabs Daniel and pulls the man out of the bed. Daniel quickly kicks the walker off him as Madison stops the truck.

"GO! I'll head to the woods!" Daniel shouts. "You stay you'll be swarmed!" Daniel shouts as he towards the woods. He hears the call pull away as Ofelia shouts. Daniel shoots a walker in the head and gets into the woods. He runs through the woods and stops for a moment as he takes a breath. He is then tackled to the ground. Daniel feels a sharp pain in his leg as he punches the man. He stands up and looks at Sam. "Who are you?"

"I'm the one who drew them here. They surrounded me, I got bit and I'm taking you out with me," Sam says as he grabs for his gun. Daniel grabs his faster and shoots the man in the chest and he falls to the ground. Daniel looks at his leg and sees a knife in it as the walkers come towards him. He starts to move through the woods once more.

Merle's P.O.V

Merle shoots a walker through the head and looks at Rick. "Seems like the others are leaving," Merle tells Rick.

"We circle around the farm and then follow," Glenn says as he turns the car towards the farm. They see Hershel shooting walkers as he back towards the house not seeing the walker behind him. Merle aims his gun out of the window and fires hitting the walker in the head. "Get in, Hershel, it's time to go!" Merle shouts to the older man who nods as Rick, and Merle shoot the walkers trying to grab Hershel. Glenn drives the car towards the field.

"You see anybody?" Rick asks.

"Otis and Patricia didn't make it," Hershel says. "Lori and Carl, they made it in the R.V."

Rick nods. "You see my brother?" Merle asks.

"No, but I didn't see a lot of people. He's probably heading towards the highway," Hershel says as they turn onto the road.

"I hope so," Merle says. They drive down the road in silence and then they hear a motercyle as Daryl drives beside them and then goes in front of them.

"Told you," Hershel says.

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl drives onto the highway with Glenn and T-dog behind him. He sees the R.V and Madison's truck already there. He stops his bike as Rick gets out of the car and runs up to Lori and Carl and Andrea get's out of the Humvee and hugs Amy. "You alright, baby brother?" Merle asks as he walks up to him.

"I'm fine," Daryl tells him brother. "You?"

"Yeah, I'm alright," Merle says and Daryl nods.

"Is this everybody?" Glenn asks as he looks around. "Where's Daniel?"

"He got pulled out, he said he'd meet us here," Travis says.

"We'll head towards the cars then, see if he's there," Glenn says.

"Then where?" Jim asks. "This big of a group on the road, it isn't going to be easy."

"No, it won't," Nick says. "We also have winter coming."

"We'll figure something out," Glenn says. "First, we need to try and find, Daniel."

Daniel's P.O.V

Daniel stumbles through the woods, his vision was getting blurry. He falls to one knee and turns around. He aims his gun and pulls the trigger but all he clears is a clip. Daniel removes his knife as the walker tries to grab him. He stabs it through the head as another grabs his arm. It goes to bite into the limb but a knife goes through its head. A man removes his knife from the walkers head and looks at Daniel. "You're going to be okay," He says as Daniel's world goes black.

Ofelia's P.O.V

Ofelia climbs out of the car and goes over to the trucks. "Papa," Ofelia says as she looks into the car. "Dad!" Ofelia shouts.

"Ofelia, we have to stay quiet," Glenn hisses. "We don't know where the herd is."

"We need to find him," Ofelia says.

"You want us to venture into the woods,'" Merle says from where he stood. "Those assholes led that herd to us, they could be looking to pick us off, the herd could be moving through the woods. He ain't here yet, he isn't showing up."

"He's not dead," Ofelia says.

"You got thrown out of a truck into a herd and ran through the woods in the dark. Chances of him being alive are low, and if we don't leave soon, we'll follow him," Merle growls. "I hope I'm wrong."

"We'll leave a truck and radio from him," Glenn says making Ofelia look at him. "Hopefully, he'll find us and get in contact but, Merle's right, we can't stay here."

"Where do we go then?" Lori asks.

"I say west," T-dog says.

"Right now, we just need somewhere to regroup," Travis says. "Get our shit together, figure out our next move."

"The sheriff station," Daryl says to Rick who nods.

"That fence is not strong, a small group of walkers could take it down," Rick says.

"No if we line the car up around the inside. Go through the rest of town, get as much supplies as possible, find some winter gear," Daryl offers. "Go from there."

Glenn looks at Rick. "You know the place best."

"It could work," Rick says. "Might still have some power there as well."

"Alright," Glenn says as he opens the back of the truck and grabs out a radio. He sets it in the truck and puts the keys in the visor. He looks at Ofelia. "You coming?"

Ofelia looks at the truck for a moment before she nods and follows him.

A couple of hours later

Daryl parks the truck by the fence and climbs out. He walks up to Rick, Glenn, Merle, Travis, and Hershel. "This will have to do for now," Daryl says.

"This isn't going to be easy, moving this many people around," Travis says.

"Lori's pregnant," Rick says making the men look at her. "Just to add to all of it and you should know."

"Let's hope you were right, Glenn," Merle says making Glenn look at him. "Hopefully this group can do anything cause winter is about to put that to the test."

No one's P.O.V

A hammer comes down on a walkers head as a woman stabs her knife into another walkers head. The man pulls a door shut as walkers press themselves against the door. "Donna, Ben, Allen, you okay?" The man asks.

"We're alright, Tyreese," Allen says. "You two have any idea on how they hell we are going to get out of this."

Tyreese's sister Sasha grabs a bar and puts it between the doors. "We stay quiet, wait for them to move on."

Allen nods as they hear noise outside. Tyreese grips his hammer as they start to hear walkers fall to the ground. After two minutes the noises stop and someone knocks on the door.

"You're safe," A man says on the other side. Tyreese looks at Sasha who nods as Tyreese grabs the bar and pulls it away from the door and pulls it open. On the other side of the door stood a man and a woman holding a katana. "Anybody bit?" The man asks.

"No, thank you, I'm Tyreese, this is my sister Sasha, that's Ben, Allen, and Donna."

"This is Michonne, I'm Shane."
