Chapter 4: The Rise of Saiyan Prince

With Vegeta and Nappa

Months have passed since Vegeta and Nappa embarked on their search for Earth, only to be frustrated time and again. They scoured every planet in the solar system, but each one was barren, devoid of life. Vegeta's frustration reached its peak as he obliterated the lifeless planets in his rage. After several failed attempts, they were forced to concede that Earth remained elusive. Begrudgingly, they decided to return to Freeza.

Upon their return, Freeza contacted them, demanding an explanation for their failure. Vegeta tried to cover up their incompetence by claiming they had explored some planets, hoping it would suffice. However, Freeza wasn't fooled and mocked them cruelly.

"You monkeys can't even find a suitable planet, and you wasted my time. What else can we expect from you?" he taunted, his words laced with contempt.

Vegeta's pride was wounded. His anger flared, but he refrained from lashing out. Instead, he steeled himself for the path ahead. Once they left Freeza's presence, Vegeta shared his resolve with Nappa.

"I'm done taking this humiliation," Vegeta declared, his voice full of bitter determination. "Freeza destroyed our planet, took my throne from me. I won't allow him to make a mockery of us any longer."

"But how?" Nappa questioned, puzzled. "We don't even know the full extent of Freeza's power. He could be in the millions. How can we fight him when we don't even know his true strength?"

Vegeta's gaze hardened. "That's why we need to become Super Saiyans," he replied with unwavering confidence.

Nappa looked skeptical. "Isn't that just a legend? A story for children?"

"Legends are not just stories," Vegeta retorted. "They say that a Super Saiyan will appear once every thousand years. If anyone has the right to claim that power, it's me—the Prince of all Saiyans."

Vegeta and Nappa set off to a distant planet with intense gravity, hoping to push their limits through rigorous training. They threw themselves into near-death experiences, tapping into the Saiyan trait of becoming stronger after recovering from battle. But despite the brutal training, they felt no increase in strength.

"I think we've hit a wall," Nappa said, his voice strained. "We're getting close to death but not growing stronger."

Vegeta paused, reflecting. "It's because we're not training properly. We've been abusing our bodies. If we want to truly unlock our potential, we need to train in the right way—no more shortcuts."

They began to train more traditionally, focusing on building strength and endurance through disciplined methods. Over time, their power increased. Vegeta, in particular, was honing his focus on becoming a Super Saiyan.

Meanwhile, Goku had started training Gohan, shaping him into a powerful warrior as well. As the months passed, both Vegeta and Goku felt confident in their progress. Vegeta, now certain he was ready, decided to confront Freeza. He targeted Freeza's base, planning to strike when the tyrant wasn't present—his aim was to infuriate Freeza.

At the same time, a spaceship arrived on Earth, carrying three formidable warriors sent by Cooler, Freeza's brother, to conquer the planet. However, Goku and Gohan quickly intercepted them, stopping the henchmen with ease.

Curious about the defeat of his subordinates, Cooler arrived on Earth to investigate. As he did, Freeza, having returned to his own planet, discovered what Vegeta had done. Enraged by the attack, Freeza decided to take matters into his own hands, but his pride got the better of him. He called in the Ginyu Force to handle Vegeta, believing that their combined strength would be enough.

This time, Nappa stepped up, determined to prove his strength. He easily dispatched the Ginyu Force, forcing Freeza to confront Vegeta directly.

As the battles raged, the stakes grew higher. On Earth, Goku faced off with Cooler, while Vegeta prepared to confront Freeza in a final, explosive showdown.

Two wars, two battlefields, two goals – one for revenge and one for the sole purpose to protect his loved ones.

The battle was far harder than Vegeta had anticipated. Frieza's strength was greater than he had remembered, and despite his intense training, Vegeta was struggling to keep up. Every punch he threw seemed to bounce off Frieza's seemingly infinite power. But Vegeta wasn't one to give up. His pride, his burning desire for vengeance, kept him going—he pushed himself past his limits, refusing to yield.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Goku was facing an even greater challenge. Cooler, Frieza's older brother, was far stronger than his sibling, and Goku found himself overwhelmed by the force of Cooler's attacks. Yet Goku refused to back down. He had already lost so much—his friends, his beloved wife Chi-Chi—and he couldn't afford to lose anymore. He had come this far, and he would fight until his last breath.

In a desperate attempt to turn the tide, Gohan jumped into the fray to help his father. However, he was no match for Cooler's overwhelming power. Cooler swatted him away like a fly, sending him crashing to the ground. Seeing his son in peril, Goku's heart twisted with fear. If Gohan died, the Dragon Balls would be useless—there would be no way to bring him back.

As Cooler continued his merciless assault on Gohan, the fear for his son's life ignited a fury deep inside Goku—a rage unlike anything he had ever felt before. This was no longer just about victory; this was about survival. His power began to surge, fueled by the raw emotion coursing through him.

In that moment, Goku finally achieved what he had never thought possible—he became a Super Saiyan. His golden aura erupted, brighter and fiercer than anything Cooler had ever witnessed. And as if fate itself had a hand in this battle, Goku's transformation was further amplified by the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Might, enhancing his strength beyond anything he had ever known

On Frieza's planet, the battle was nearing its end. Vegeta, still reeling from the damage, was now joined by Nappa, who had rushed to his aid. But before Nappa could make a significant impact, Frieza saw the move coming and fired a deadly Death Beam straight through Nappa's heart, killing him instantly.

The loss of his comrade stoked Vegeta's rage, but even then, Frieza's power was too overwhelming. The tyrant effortlessly overpowered Vegeta, and with a cold smirk, he prepared to finish the job. But before he could strike the final blow, he began to taunt Vegeta, belittling him for his failures, calling him a monkey, mocking him for destroying his own planet, and for being nothing more than a lapdog—a laughingstock.

The relentless humiliation, the years of suffering, the crushing weight of his own failure—it all boiled over inside Vegeta. As Frieza continued to mock him, something within him snapped. His rage exploded, and with it came a power he had never felt before.

Vegeta's golden aura flared to life. His hair turned a blazing shade of gold, his eyes burned with the fire of a new resolve. The Super Saiyan transformation had finally awakened within him. He was no longer the defeated prince; he was the legendary warrior the Saiyans had spoken of for centuries.

At that exact moment, on Earth, Goku's transformation reached its peak. both full-blooded Saiyans, had unlocked the same legendary power, separated by vast distances but united by the same burning rage. The universe trembled as two Super Saiyans, stood ready to face their respective foes.

The tide of battle had turned.

The battle raged on as Frieza continued to attack relentlessly. He fired a Death Beam straight at Vegeta, but it ricocheted off Vegeta's golden Super Saiyan aura, not even leaving a scratch. Vegeta smirked, his confidence growing with every passing second. He dashed forward, moving faster than Frieza could react, and slammed a knee into his gut. Frieza staggered back, coughing up blood.

"What's wrong, Frieza?" Vegeta mocked, a sadistic grin spreading across his face. "Where's that power you bragged about? The mighty Frieza who wiped out my people? The great Frieza I feared so much? I don't see it anymore."

Frieza, his face contorted with rage, snarled, "Shut up, you monkey!"

With that, Frieza launched another flurry of energy blasts, but Vegeta danced around them with ease, landing blow after blow. Frieza's defenses were slipping. Vegeta's attacks were precise, relentless. Frieza's smirk began to fade as Vegeta closed in on him.

Frieza's frustration boiled over. "You think you've won, Vegeta? You're nothing. You've always been a lapdog. You were never fit to be a king!"

The words stung, but Vegeta had heard them before. Instead of responding with words, he took action. He stepped, surprising Frieza.

"What's this? Are you surrendering?" Frieza mocked.

Vegeta's grin never wavered. "I'm giving you the chance to show me your full power, Frieza. Let's see if you can live up to the trash you talk."

Frieza's eyes widened with disbelief. "You… you really are a fool, Vegeta."

Frieza powered up, his energy growing exponentially. Vegeta watched calmly, studying him. As Frieza's power increased, Vegeta noticed something. The more Frieza pushed himself, the more his stamina drained.

Frieza, now at full power, began his relentless assault. Vegeta barely managed to block and dodge his attacks, but he could feel the shift—Frieza was tiring faster than he realized. Vegeta grinned, his pride swelling. The timing was perfect.

"Are you done already, Frieza?" Vegeta taunted as Frieza's attacks began to slow. "You're weaker than I thought."

Frieza's face contorted in rage. "I'll show you what true power is, monkey!"

Frieza hurled a massive energy blast at Vegeta, but instead of evading it, Vegeta took the hit head-on, allowing the blast to explode around him. The force of the explosion left a massive crater, but Vegeta stood tall, his hair wild, his aura flaring.

"You're done, Frieza," Vegeta growled, his voice steady despite the earlier blast. "Your stamina's gone, and now... it's my turn."

Vegeta closed the distance in the blink of an eye and, with lightning speed, slapped Frieza across the face. The sound of the slap echoed across the barren planet. Frieza reeled from the humiliation, his cheek burning from the impact.

"What's wrong, Frieza? Did you think I'd be your lapdog forever?" Vegeta sneered. "Let me remind you who you're dealing with."

In a swift, brutal motion, Vegeta grabbed Frieza's tail and yanked it off, the tail tearing from Frieza's body with a sickening snap. Frieza screamed in agony, but Vegeta showed no mercy. With a deep breath, he fired a devastating Galick Gun at the tyrant. The blast consumed Frieza entirely, disintegrating his body in a flash of light.

Vegeta watched as the smoke cleared, his heart pounding with triumph. Frieza's reign of terror was over. Vegeta didn't wait for the planet to blow up—he turned and flew off, leaving the destroyed planet behind.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Cooler had grown desperate as his battle with Goku reached its climax. He had dominated the fight earlier, but now, Goku stood tall, his energy surging with the will to protect everything he loved. Cooler, sensing his opponent's rising power, gritted his teeth.

Goku tightened his fists, his golden hair shimmering in the sunlight. "You'll never break me, Cooler. Not now, not ever."

Cooler, in a final attempt to crush Goku, powered up into his fifth form—his ultimate state. The transformation made him larger, stronger, but it was also a last-ditch effort. Cooler thought he had gained the upper hand.

"I'll show you true power!" Cooler roared, launching a devastating kick aimed at Goku's head. But Goku was faster. In an instant, he left behind nothing but an afterimage. Cooler's foot connected with the air, and Goku's fist slammed into his face, sending him flying back.

"Not so fast, Cooler," Goku said with a grin, his voice confident. "This time, you won't get away."

Cooler, growling in frustration, tried to regain his composure. He fired a massive Death Ball at Goku, but Goku retaliated immediately with his own Kamehameha wave. The two beams collided with a deafening explosion, each fighter struggling to overpower the other.

Goku's face was tense with concentration as he poured every ounce of energy into the beam struggle. Cooler's energy faltered, and with a final push, Goku's Kamehameha overwhelmed Cooler's Death Ball. The resulting blast consumed Cooler entirely, sending him into the vacuum of space.

Cooler's death was swift. He never had a chance to escape the blast, and within seconds, his body was destroyed.

As the last of Cooler's remains drifted into the void, Goku collapsed to his knees, breathing heavily. He had won, but it wasn't without cost. His energy was nearly depleted, and he could feel the toll of the fight.

But as Goku caught his breath, his eyes softened when he saw Gohan. His son was safe, and that was all that mattered. He smiled at him weakly. "It's over, Gohan. We did it."

Meanwhile, on Frieza's planet, the ground shook as the planet's core began to destabilize. The countdown to its destruction had begun, but Vegeta didn't care. He had already taken what he needed from it—his revenge.

As Vegeta soared into the sky, leaving behind the dying planet, a massive explosion erupted from the planet's core. Frieza's empire, once an oppressive force in the universe, was no more.

At that very moment, the final blast from Goku's Kamehameha swallowed Cooler whole, his death instantaneous as he was consumed by the energy. Cooler's threat had been extinguished, and with it, the darkness he sought to cast over Earth.

Two events happened at the same time: the destruction of freeza and Frieza's planet and the death of Cooler.

In their own ways, both Goku and Vegeta had succeeded. One had defended his home, protecting Earth from annihilation; the other had avenged the destruction of his people, bringing an end to the tyrant who had slaughtered them. The warriors had fought for everything they held dear—one for survival, the other for pride and vengeance.

Both victories were equally important, equally hard-won, and in the end, both warriors stood victorious. The legacy of their battles, their sacrifices, and their triumphs would forever shape the future of the universe.

From that day forward, Vegeta took control of the Frieza Empire. The vast, tyrannical network that once served the cold-hearted Frieza now became his domain. Vegeta's rise to power was swift and ruthless, crushing any opposition that dared challenge his authority. His pride as the Prince of all Saiyans was unshakable, and now, with the empire at his feet, his reign was cemented.

As the news of his victory reached the far corners of the universe, it soon reached King Cold, Frieza's father. The old tyrant, however, was unmoved. He sat in his dark, grandiose palace, his cold eyes staring out into the cosmos. The reports confirmed the deaths of both Frieza and Cooler, but King Cold's reaction was surprising.

He didn't rage. He didn't demand retribution. Instead, he simply dismissed their deaths with a cold, uncaring chuckle. He thought of his sons as a disgrace—weak, incompetent, and unable to uphold the Cold family legacy. To him, their demise wasn't a loss; it was a natural consequence of their failures.

King Cold considered Vegeta beneath him, a Saiyan, a race that was once considered insignificant. But Vegeta's victory over his sons did not stir any fear or anger in him. Instead, he saw it as a trivial matter, as something that would not affect his rule. To him, they were nothing but failures in the grand scheme of his empire, and if Vegeta sought to take control, so be it.

With his sons dead, King Cold's thoughts turned only to his own ambitions. Vegeta's rise, in his eyes, was merely a footnote in a much larger game. The universe was vast, and the Cold family was still its dominant force. He could afford to ignore Vegeta—for now.

Two Years Later

It had been four years since Chi-Chi's death, and while the pain of her loss still lingered, Goku and Gohan had found a sense of peace. They now lived in Capsule Corp with Bulma, who had stepped in to care for Gohan like her own child. Over time, Gohan had come to see Bulma as his mother, and one day, to Goku's surprise, Gohan started calling her "Mom." At first, Goku didn't know how to feel about it, but when he saw how comfortable Bulma was with it, he couldn't bring himself to object. After all, Bulma had been there for Gohan since he was just four years old, and she had always treated him with love and care.

During the last two years, Goku had mastered Super Saiyan, a power he and Gohan referred to as "Super Saiyan." Goku had also noticed something strange—his strength and stamina were increasing at an incredible rate, and he suspected it was due to the fruit he had eaten. Meanwhile, Gohan, now eight years old, was growing stronger by the day. Goku was proud of how quickly Gohan was progressing, though Gohan had yet to reach Super Saiyan himself.

Despite the lingering grief from Chi-Chi's death, Goku had managed to find peace. He and Gohan spent their days training and enjoying the quiet life they had found. But one day, while training with Gohan, Goku suddenly doubled over in pain, clutching his chest. His breath became ragged, and he collapsed to the ground, unable to stand. Gohan rushed to his father's side, panic rising in his chest.

"Dad! What's wrong?!" Gohan cried, his voice trembling with fear.

Bulma, who had been working nearby, rushed over. Her face turned pale as she scanned Goku with her equipment, and her heart sank when she found the cause. Goku had contracted a heart virus—one that had no known cure.

Gohan's world shattered as he heard the news. "Mom, is there anything you can do?" he begged, his voice breaking. "Please, I can't lose him too! I can't—"

Bulma's face was filled with sorrow as she placed a gentle hand on Gohan's shoulder. "I'll try my best, Gohan," she whispered. "But at this rate… he only has a week."

The weight of Bulma's words crushed Gohan's spirit. His father, the strongest fighter he knew, was slipping away, and there was nothing he could do to save him. Goku, the hero who had fought to protect them all, might not survive this fight.

But just as despair began to settle in, their world was shaken once again. east City was suddenly attacked by two mysterious beings, their energy unlike anything anyone on Earth had ever felt. The air seemed to crackle with power as the attackers unleashed their destructive force.

The battle for survival was far from over.
