Brooke stood in Clothes over Bros arranging a display table when Julian walked into her store with an angry scowl. The two weeks since Brooke had gone to see him and Lindsey together in Charleston had been a whirlwind. She had applied for a rental condo on the beach and avoided being present when Jake and Peyton invited Luke and Lindsey to dinner a few days ago. It was too much to stomach after everything that happened. She trusted Julian and he betrayed her and somehow it was worse knowing it was Lindsey and not some casual encounter. She needed to tell Lucas the truth about Julian being with Lindsey, but she wanted to tell him alone.

"What the hell Brooke?" Julian asked in an accusatory tone, startling her. "You just clean all your stuff out of my house and blow me off?"

"It's over, leave me alone," Brooke told him, she tried to move away but he grabbed her wrists.

"What's wrong were you just pretending to be a good girlfriend? Until you use me long enough and move on to the next guy, huh?"

"Stop, I'm not doing this with you. This is my store. Just go."

"Look at me!" he demanded shaking her.

"Everything okay in here?" Lucas asked, walking into the store. Brooke had never felt more relieved to see him.

Julian swiveled around, releasing Brooke. "What are you doing here?" he asked Luke in a snide voice.

"I saw your car out front just thought I would check it out. Peyton told me you and Brooke broke up, so why are you here?"

"We don't need you. I was just asking Brooke why she snuck out like she did."

"I don't owe you an explanation or anything else. Now leave my store," Brooke said.

"You heard her," Luke said, moving closer to Brooke.

Julian attention snaps to Luke. "That's a little weird you were just driving by. Is that something you make a habit of doing?"

"Why what does it matter to you?" Luke asked.

"I mean isn't it obvious? Brooke suddenly breaks up with me and here you are..just like that. I don't believe in those kinds of coincidences," Julian said.

"I'm looking out for Brooke," Luke said.

"There's clearly more goin on between you too," Julian said.

"You got me," Luke says, catching both Brooke and Julian off guard. Brooke stared at him in disbelief.

"Right. I knew it," Julian says taken aback, not expecting that response. "Soon as I turn my back?" he says to Brooke.

Brooke remains silent. She has replayed the image of Julian kissing Lindsey so many times, that she can't believe this is the guy she loved. She can't even tell Julian what she knows because of what it would do to Lucas at least not until he knows first.

"I hope Lindsey knows what a scumbag she's married to. I feel sorry for her having a baby with you," Julian sneers.

Brooke gasps, "What did you say?"

"How did you know that? We haven't told anyone," Luke asks, with an unreadable expression.

Julian hesitates a moment, "she mentioned it..does she have to run every conversation by you?"

"No, but she was the one who wanted to keep it a secret," Luke says.

"You're having a baby?" Brooke asks.

"We've known for a month, but we haven't told anyone. I didn't realize you and my wife were so close," Luke glared at Julian.

Brooke looks at Julian, who looks painfully uncomfortable all of a sudden, realizing he let something slip he shouldn't have in the heat of the moment. He waits too long to say anything and Luke starts getting the feeling there's a lot beneath the surface of Brooke's break-up. He looks between Brooke and Julian in disbelief.

"When did you see Lindsey?" Luke asks.

Julian shrugs with a poker face.

"Why did you break up?" Luke looks at Brooke. His mind is going places he doesn't want to think about.

"Luke, I'm really sorry, this isn't how I wanted to tell you but –I just,"

Julian cuts Brooke off giving her a hard look, "That's what I'd like to know."

Brooke is sickened about how he'd rather protect his mistress than be honest with her.

"Just stop Julian, I came to Charleston to surprise you for our anniversary and I saw you and Lindsey together."

"Is that true? Are you sleeping with my wife?" Luke yells.

"We just had dinner it was nothing. You're crazy, you're overreacting because you have trust issues," Julian told Brooke.

"I saw them kissing in the hotel," Brooke said, feeling horrible.

"She has no idea what she's talking about..she's jealous and insecure, you know how women get," Julian said turning toward Lucas, just as Luke's fist collided with his jaw.

Luke punched Julian again into a rack of clothes. Julian fell backward to the ground.

"Get the hell off of me. I'll press charges..she's my witness," Julian pointed at Brooke.

"I'm not anything to you anymore," Brooke corrected him.

"You want to be with this psycho, be my guest," Julian pulled himself up and wiped the blood off his mouth.

Nicki held Jennifer's hand as they walked into the Public Administration Building where Jake worked in the accounting division.

"Can I help you?" the secretary at the front desk inquired.

"I'd like to speak with Jake Jagielski in accounting," Nicki replied.

"Do you have an appointment?" the secretary asked, typing into her computer to view the master schedule.

"No, but it's important," Nicki said, starting to get impatient with Chris waiting for her in the parking lot.

"May I ask your name?"

"I'm Nicki and this is Jake's daughter, Jenny."

The woman appeared stunned, looking between Nicki and Jenny. "Give me a moment to see if he's available," she said in a controlled voice, "please, have a seat," she called as she hurried off.

Nicki led Jenny over to a pair of leather chairs in the lobby.

"Mommy what are we doing here? I thought we were going on vacation with Uncle Chris," Jenny asked.

"No, I'm going to be working with Chris. You're staying here with your daddy."

"But, I want to come with you. I'm scared," Jenny said.

"Don't be ridiculous, you're perfectly safe here," Nicki snapped. The only thing that mattered to her was being on tour with Chris and not having to worry about money or anything for a long time.

"When are you coming back?" Jenny asked, her eyes tearing up.

"Soon..a week tops," Nicki smiled, kids had no concept of time anyway.

"Can't I come? I'll be good," Jenny asked again. Nicki saw Jenny was starting to get clingy, it was time for her to go meet Chris waiting out in the van.

"Hey, I have to grab something from the car. I'll be right back. You wait here," Nicki said, rushing out the door. Jenny held onto her pink backpack, hoping her mother would hurry.

"How does Julian know about our baby?" Luke asks Lindsey when she answers on the second ring.

"Wh-at?" Lindsey's voice falters. "It slipped out I guess."

"Really?" Luke asks.

"Yeah, maybe we should just start telling people, sorry for being so superstitious," Lindsey laughs nervously.

"I heard you and Julian were together, while you were out of town. Why didn't you mention it?" he asks.

"I don't know, he invited me to dinner. I didn't think it was important. I stopped on my way home and got my hair done and did some shopping in Charleston."

"That's all it was? I heard you were kissing him," Luke could hear the anger in his words.

"From who? It was just dinner."

"It doesn't matter who, why would you leave that out about seeing him?"

"Because it's not a big deal! I know where this is coming from, Brooke Davis. That's why she wouldn't even eat dinner there when Peyton invited us. She's just upset because Julian dumped her."

"I've known Brooke a decade and she's not a liar."

"Then she's confused. What did she even see? I'm your wife. We're having a baby. I can't believe you could even accuse me of that," Lindsey snapped, ending the call.
