A week had passed since Jazz, Ultra Magnus and Sentinel Prime had landed on earth. They had found out it was indeed true that the All spark had been shattered but it was still around, just in millions of shards. Optimus didn't like the fact Sentinel Prime was there, but Optimus was glad that Lancex made it bearable. Sentinel had tried to boss Lancex around and Lancex had basically told the bot to shove it. When Sentinel whined about that, Lancex got away with mocking the arrogant Prime. Optimus had to conceal a snicker more than once.
And while Optimus was glad Lancex was there, he was not pleased that Grimlock and the other two dinobots would come and go as they pleased with Grimlock getting too close to Lancex for Optimus' comfort. Optimsu didn't realize that Grimlock felt much the same. He wanted more time with Lancex but the Prime kept getting in the way somehow.
And while everyone seemed to think Lancex was oblivious to what was going on, he was far from it. He noticed that Optimus and Grimlock acted very different around him. He noticed how Ultra Magnus didn't seem to trust or care for him, or so it seemed. And, he certainly noticed that the oafish Sentinel got some weird look in his optics that seemed to unsettle Lancex a bit, though he would never admit it. Jazz was a cool bot that Lancex didn't mind as the bot reminded Lancex of an old friend, named Jed, from back home.
Magnus, who had been observing things, didn't care for Lancex as the Ultra felt that no one deserved Optimsu except for the Ultra. Sentinel wanted Lancex too, but not like the others did. Sentinel wanted Lancex simply because it seemed Optimus liked the bot and Sentinel didn't want anything good going to Optimus. Only Sentinel was worthy of such things in Sentinel's mind. Sentinel and Ultra Magnus tried to flirt with Lancex and Optimus respectively, and both were rejected as Optimus didn't feel that way about Magnus, especially after what had happened at the academy. Lancex couldn't stand Sentinel for anything, and made it clear. And with the constant rejection in mind, Magnus and Sentinel decided to work together, hoping that by working together they could both get what they sought without anyone stopping them.
