It was a few hours before they were supposed to leave. Amanda was finishing up the last load of clothes. Brayden and Noah went to find Olivia. They wanted to see the ring since Liv had just picked it up. She was so proud to have found the perfect one. It meant a lot to her that the boys were all for this, especially where it would be such a big change. Brayden looked at Liv. Taking the opportunity to hug her and talk to her.
"Olivia, you are about to become my stepmother because we all know Mom is going to say yes. I just want to thank you for including me, for loving me. I also want to thank you for getting mom through my shooting and almost dying. You have been the rock when it's been needed. You have taken me on as a son like Noah and you haven't treated me different at all. That means so much to me, even more so since I found out first hand how much the sperm donor hated me. The love you have shown Mom has been amazing to see. The way the two of you come together is beautiful. You have had some tough times and you have worked through them. I know you have been hurt in the past and so has mom, but the way the past experiences have allowed you and mom to heal together is powerful and beautiful."
Olivia hugged him, then of course Noah and finally a group hug. She then showed them the ring. A simple blue sapphire heart stone with diamonds around it and a white gold band. The boys thought the ring was gorgeous and the fact that Liv was so happy, they knew Amanda would be too. Amanda had gotten home and was asking questions where they were going for their anniversary and all Olivia would tell her was they had a flight soon and she would find out. The boys loving it and playfully teasing. Amanda playfully stuck her tongue at the boys cause they knew all the plans. All they would say was 'it's your anniversary and something really special is planned.
After a bit, Fin came over to grab the boys for a boys and gaming weekend. He knew what was up and he couldn't be happier. Olivia was now double checking everything and that she had packed all the stuff they needed. It was a light packing because it was going to be the beach for the couple days and the suite. Possibly a dinner out. She really hadn't figured out where she was exactly going to propose but she knew that would come to her right when she saw the island. She was just looking forward to a romantic getaway with her soon to be fiancé.
Their uber came to pick them up and drop them off at the airport. Going through TSA was annoying as usual but they didn't have much stuff so it didn't take too long. Their flight was on-time which made Liv happy.
Flight-NY to Bahamas….
They enjoyed their flight. Amanda was really surprised at their destination. She had wanted to go back to the Bahamas with her love. It was just super romantic to her. The suite Olivia had gotten had a balcony and beautiful view of the water. She was thumbing that little ring box that was in her pocket.
Amanda beamed, so happy to be back here in the Bahamas with the woman that she loved. "Liv, I love that you brought us here to celebrate our anniversary. A year of growth with the woman who has brought love back to my life. The best year of my life. Being with the woman I love, raising our kids, buying a house and now here in the most beautiful place with the love of my life. Yes Liv, you are the love of my life." Olivia smiled looking at her. "You Mandy are the love of mine as well. I'm just glad I got my head out of my ass and saw it. Let's go get situated and start enjoying our anniversary vacation." Amanda agreed and followed Liv. Olivia made it so they walked side by side to their suite. "I know I just wanted the best for this weekend. Yes we are here for the weekend. Me and you, we can have our special time in the room and we can explore this place too. It's our weekend of fun and love just us."
When they got to the door Olivia covered Amanda's eyes, opened the door and walked them in. "Surprise babe. I got the room with a view in more ways than one. Beautiful view of the beach and skyline, and a beautiful view of a stunning lady." Amanda turned and kissed Liv. "Oh Liv. This is beautiful."
They settled into their room. Just enjoying each other's company. Olivia just couldn't stop smiling. She knew what she was going to be up to this weekend and it made her light up. Amanda couldn't keep from touching Liv. She kept kissing her and hugging her. The kissing and hugging making way to touching, getting heated.
Amanda was in awe of this vacation. The way her girlfriend had arranged it. They had talked to their boys. They were having fun with Fin.
Later on in the evening in the Bahamas…
Olivia planned a beautiful dinner since they would only be there two nights. She was going to propose tonight so they could have their next day and night to celebrate. Plus the ring was burning a hole in her pocket. She wanted to see her girlfriend's face when she saw it, she was hoping it would be a happy face with her eyes bright.
"Mandy I have a dinner planned for us. Our first night here. I want to start it off right."
This made Amanda smile. The fact that Olivia had gone through all of this for their anniversary. It made her feel really special and she hadn't felt that way in a long time. Olivia had been the only one to do so. She felt truly valued and loved.
"A dinner with my love, after a beautiful day here. I'm looking forward to that. Liv, I am truly grateful we are where we are. That we are celebrating this milestone and our relationship continues to progress. I love you so much."
They laid in bed cuddling, watching tv. Both of them so very relaxed obviously enjoying each other's company. Gentle touches and caresses, just showing each other without words how they felt. Of course kisses had snuck their way in there too.
They headed to dinner shortly after. Hand in hand. Each of them in a cute little outfit. It was warm down there which was nice. The breeze was beautiful and the nightfall on the beach was making the night Olivia had planned absolutely perfect.
After Dinner…..
They had a beautiful dinner. Just as romantic as Olivia had hoped. Amanda in awe of what Olivia had done to make this anniversary as special as it had been. After dinner had been done and the tip left Olivia asked for a bottle of the champagne be delivered to their suite. Then she took her girlfriend's hand, lacing their fingers together "Do you mind if I take the woman I love on a moonlit stroll along the beach?" Amanda smiled, kissed Liv's lips gently "I'd love a moonlit stroll with the love of my life."
They went for their stroll, laughing, talking, enjoying each other's company. They walked up to the end of the beach where it almost looked like the moon was resting on the water. Olivia knew this was the spot. The spot where her life was going to change, hopefully in the best way possible. Amanda cuddled up to Liv, kissing her cheek. "MM this is a beautiful spot babe. Look at the way the moon is shining on the water. I'm going to take a pic" As she turned to get her phone out, Olivia took her chance. Pulling the ring out of her pocket, she pushed her split skirt to the side and knelt in the soft white sand. Holding the ring out just as Amanda turned. Thankfully Amanda had put her phone in her purse before turning around. Her hands went to her face. Her purse falling in the sand.
Tears in her eyes, looking at the love of her life in this moment. Her voice soft "Liv."
Olivia took Amanda's hand in her own. Taking the ring out of the box and putting it on her finger.
"Amanda.. where do I begin? I never thought that I would be here. Never thought that I would find a person who brings me so much joy. Before you even say anything, yes it's you that brings me joy and happiness. The love and happiness you have brought to my life has just been absolutely incredible. You make me feel loved and appreciated on my worst days when I want to hide and lock out the world, but I can't and you're there to get me through it. When my stupidity almost made me lose you I couldn't bear it. You forgave me numerous times and my love has grown so much stronger. It's because of you I have had my eyes opened to what true and accepting love is. To have a person really love me even when I'm a complete dumbass. You and Brayden have brought me and Noah happiness beyond belief. It took us a while, partially because of me to get to where we are now, but I can't see a future without you being a part of it, without Brayden being a part of it. Without us being a family. Amanda yes we got a house together and our family is together. I want more though. Amanda what I'm trying to say is I want you to be my forever. I want you to be my life partner. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife and life partner? It would make me the happiest woman in the moonlit world right now. Amanda Lorraine Rollins will you marry me?"
Amanda put her hand on her heart. Looking at the woman she loved so much. Almost thinking this moment was a dream and she didn't want to wake up. Then she felt Liv touch her hand. The soft touch brought her out of her fuzz.
"Olivia, My Liv. My love. All of my life I never thought I was worthy of love. Hell I never even thought finding someone to truly love me was in the cards. Shit who does when they are forced to marry someone cause they got pregnant. Until I found you. That's right, you Olivia Margaret Benson. You managed to move past all of my reservations and walls. You showed me it was safe to want and crave love. Real love that is. Yes we went through our ups and downs but we found our ways back to one another. You loved me even after finding out about Derek. You were right by my side when Brayden was shot and even fought with me to keep Derek locked up. The fact that you want to marry me, blows me away. The fact that you want to spend the rest of our lives together."
Amanda nodded her head yes. "Yes Olivia Margaret Benson, I will marry you. I want to spend eternity with you." Amanda kissed her now fiancé lovingly. She just couldn't get enough of her soon to be wife's lips. She loved this, kissing under the moon and stars. When they broke the kiss for both of them needing air she finally lifted her hand to look at the ring. It was beautiful. Olivia took her hand and held it.
"You know, I asked Brayden for permission to propose. He was so happy Manda. He knows how happy you make me and what you mean to me."
Amanda teared up. Reaching again to touch her fiance's lips with her own. "The fact that you did that makes me love you even more Liv, if that's possible. I can't even put into words what I am feeling right now. The fact I am now engaged to the love of my life and my best friend. It's just everything. Everything I never knew I wanted."
After a bit of just relishing in their moment, they walked back to their suite. Amanda looked at Liv, "This means I get to love you for the rest of my life. I get to spend nights making love to you and with you. I get to spend the rest of my life as Amanda Lorraine Rollins-Benson."
Olivia kissed her knuckle "And I get to spend the rest of my life as Olivia Margaret Rollins-Benson. So how did I do with this surprise? I wanted it simple, but I wanted it to show you how much I truly love you and adore you."
Amanda had opened up their door, turning and cupping Olivia's face, kissing her. "Olivia this was the most magical and beautiful anniversary. I thought just coming here was intimate and special. You then upped it all when you asked me to marry you. This is going to forever be our spot. The fact that you brought me here where we first made love. I just…" She kissed her once more. The kiss having an urgency to it. Olivia had turned them so she could shut and lock the door and lead her new fiancé to the bed. After she kissed her hotly once more she looked and right there on the table in a bucket of ice was the champagne she ordered.
"So shall we have a celebratory toast and see where this anniversary night takes us?"
Amanda nodded. "Sure babe. But I suggest before that, we slip into something more comfortable and I'm texting the boys to tell them."
Olivia giggled. "I hope the more comfortable means skin to skin." She winked. Amanda smiled "Of course, skin to skin with my sexy ass fiancé as well as this very nice and chilled bottle of champagne. Babe you went all out."
Amanda sent the boys a picture message with the ring on her left ring finger. "I said yes" after she hit send, she turned her phone on do not disturb. "Now I'm completely yours babe."
The boys received the text and yes they showed it to Fin. Oh was he ever happy. His two best friends were finally happy and moving forward. He went back to playing games with the boys and enjoying his boys weekend with them. The boys were happy for what the future entailed now.
Amanda ran off to the bathroom real quick. She had snagged the candles and lighter and brought it with her. Setting up the jacuzzi with soft lighting and the candles. She had found some lavender bathbombs as well. She silently thanked the resort. She went out in her robe to get her fiancé. She opened the door and looked at her beautiful lady.
