The weather was warm. The sky blue and clear.
Oscar and Asher doing one activity after another.
Beatrice was making sandcastles. Having fun
. Brooke had had taken a swim and was now just enjoying the sun and keeping a close eye on all the children.
(This family and a life with you is all I ever imagined.) Brooke said.
(A lifetime with you isn't enough but it will have to be.) Lucas proclaimed.
(My doctor lied to me about my test results.)
(He told me that I was in early heart failure.)
(I got examined at another office and those results were perfect. I'm not going anywhere.) Lucas explained.
Brooke engulfed him into a tight hug. Tears welling up in her eyes.
When they pulled apart he wiped the tears he saw welling up.
(I'm okay. I'm just fine. Brooke I didn't want to upset you.) Lucas insisted.
(That doctor was paid off to give you those fake results.) Brooke insisted.
(There is more. Peyton has reached out to me by phone. Recently.)
(And during one of those calls she makes it very clear that she's been at NY book signings.)
(Watching from afar. I made myself clear and she's even more fixated on me now more than ever.)
