Or maybe you won't.
The rest of our time at the beach house was a retreat. A needed time off from reality.
The press still is unaware of the location of this house or the cabin.
So we actually have privacy. When we eventually made it back home.
There was still a week of spring break left.
The boys had their party they were looking forward to going to.
Brooke was doing what she could to spend quality time with Beatrice.
Which for Brooke meant self care and shopping. Really attempting to do things she knew our daughter would like.
Which left me to focus on what I needed to do.
I went into my home office. Got out my cellphone and took a breath. As I found the number I needed and redialed it.
When a voice picked up. I knew there was no going back.
(You were right okay. I want you. Denying it anymore is pointless.)
(Its you Peyton. I let myself get caught up in a life I can't just walk away from.) Lucas proclaimed
Peyton sighed deeply. (I knew it. All along.)
(You're lucky I'm patient and refuse to give up on you.) Peyton replied.
(I don't want to be apart anymore.) Lucas proclaimed.
(Then come get me.) Peyton replied.
Lucas stared at himself in the mirror.
He had fooled her. He had turned himself into someone he no longer was.
And It was needed to get this done.
