Chapter Three

Peter opened the door to his apartment, in his hands was a big bag of cat food. He entered and closed the door behind him.

"Dexter, I'm home!" He called out. However, his beloved blue cat didn't come out. Peter raised a brow as he found that was odd, usually Dexter would come running towards him with excitement.

"Strange." Peter said to himself. He walked up to the kitchen and placed the bag of cat food on the table. The brown haired male looked around his apartment for any sign of his furry friend. After a few seconds of scanning the area, Peter made way to his room. Upon entering he noticed that his bedroom window was wide open.

Alert, Peter ran to his window and shut it closed. He left his room and did a quick search of his apartment, looking for any signs of a break in. To his relief, nothing was out of place or missing.

Peter's worry then shifted to curiosity. How was his window left open, he was sure that he had it closed before he left. It was obvious that no one broke but it still didn't answer anything. Peter then realized something. Dexter wasn't present and he just so happened to find the window open. Did Dexter open the window?

Peter shook his head, that shouldn't be possible. No matter how smart cats are, they are unable to open a window…Then again, Dexter was no ordinary cat.

"Just where are you, Dex?" Peter asked himself.

DEX-STARR

Dex-starr roamed the skyline of New York as he prowled for the wicked. This city was full of them. Parasites that prey on those who could not defend themselves.

A scowl formed on Dex-Starr's face as his blood boiled at the mere thought. By the end of this night, the blood of the wicked will paint the streets tonight.

For the innocent.

For his master, Peter.

Dex-Starr made sure to inflict his rage onto as many parasites as he could.

His ears then twitched as they picked up a noise. Dex-Starr snapped his head towards the source of the noise. The blue cat saw in the distance a couple of small flying shapes in the sky. In their hands were bags of cash. Dex-Starr hissed as he quickly followed the shapes. As he got closer, Dex-Starr saw that the shapes were small men in bird themed suits with wings and bird helmets. He was about to attack until he heard one of them speak of their boss being happy with their score. This made the blue feline stop before deciding to follow them. Follow them straight to the source.

After a while, Dex-Starr followed the strange flying creatures to a warehouse. He perched on top of a window and peered inside. The feline's eyes watched the small gremlins make their way towards an older man. Dex-Starr narrowed his eyes as he recognized the man to be Adrian Toomes, A.K.A. The Vulture. One of his master's many enemies.

"Boss! Boss! We've got the goods!" One of the minions cried out, excitedly. The group presented the elderly villain the bags of cash.

"Ah, great job my pretties! You've made me very proud." Vulture praised the group. He took a handful of hundred dollar bills.

Deciding not to wait, Dex-Starr quickly flew down from the window and landed in front of Vulture. Surprising the old man and his cronies.

"What the? A cat?" Vulture asked out in confusion.

Dex-Starr hissed as his body began to glow as he levitated slowly off the ground. Much to the shock of Vulture and his birdies.

"G-get it!" Vulture ordered his underlings as they charged at the cat.

Dex-Starr snarled as he blitzed towards the mini vultures and formed a spiked tail club out of red light. The blue feline swung his tail, smacking away several of Vulture's minions. He swung his claw at the remaining minions, forming a large construct of his claws, flinging them to the side of the warehouse.

Only leaving one minion. Who looked at Dex-Starr in fear, shaking uncontrollably while wetting himself.

Dex-Starr hissed at the minion before he used his ring to launch himself at the minion, acting like a battery ram.

"Gah!" The minion cried out as he was slammed onto the ground. He pinned by the blue cat who swiped his claws at his mask. The force of the blow knocked the mask off the minion's face, the face of the minion made Dex-Starr freeze in shock.

This minion wasn't a small adult human. No, this was a child. No older than ten years old.

This old man was using children for his own plans. For his own selfish benefit, using someone so innocent for his vile deeds.

He must pay for this transgression.

The rage within Dex-Starr has increased by tenfold. His gaze snapped towards Vulture, who had watched the whole thing while being unable to move, being frozen in shock. Dex-Starr let out an aggressive hiss as his body glowed bright red before charging at Vulture.

Adrian widened his eyes in terror upon seeing this demon cat flying straight towards him. His quickly used his newly improved gravity suit to fly out of the way as Dex-Starr crashed into his throne. Leaving behind a destroyed mess.

"Wh-what the hell?" Vulture sqwaked out.

Dex-Starr emerged from the mess to his at Toomes once more. Vulture sqwaked as he swiftly flew out of the warehouse roof window. Dex-Starr followed suit.

The two of them were soaring the skies, playing an air version of Cat and Mouse. Flying through the skyline of the city, avoiding slamming into several buildings.

Dex-Starr charged his ring, letting out several shots of red energy at the Vulture.

"Grh, get away from me you crazy cat!" Vulture yelled as he narrowly dodged the blasts.

"Die!" Dex-Starr hissed out, making the Vulture look at him, flabbergasted.

"You can talk?!" Vulture exclaimed.

"Die!" Dex-Starr hissed before using his ring to fire a flash bang at the Vulture. It detonated near the old man's face, causing this the Vulture to be temporary blinded.

"Gah! My eyes!" Vulture cried out as he clenched his eyes with his hands. His optical nerves burned due to the intensity of the light of the flash bang.

He started rubbing his eyes, trying to regain his sight as quickly as he could.

He blinked his eyes as he regained his sight. The intensity of the light had left Vulture's eyes blood red, causing his vision to be heavily impaired. Everything he saw was blurry, barely making out anything in front of him.

"My eyes! I'm blind! I can't see!" Vulture wailed out, as he realized that he was now blind.

Suddenly, Vulture was tackled by Dex-Starr. The two of them were heading to the roof of a nearby building at high speeds. All with the Vulture screaming bloody murder along the way.

MEANWHILE

Carlie Cooper read and reread the newspaper in her hands for the past thirty minutes. The article she was focusing on was about the disappearance of Spider-Man after his battle with the late Doctor Octopus. It had been some time since the Web slinger was last seen, leading to an increase of criminal activity. Leading to a lot of trouble for the NYPD. However, that soon dropped drastically ever since this killer vigilante started appearing.

The fact that this killer started appearing after Spider-Man went missing was too much of a coincidence to look over. Something that Carlie was looking into.

"God damn it Peter, where are you?" Carlie muttered to himself.

Despite their relationship ending on bad terms, Carlie still cared for her ex. After the bloody battle between Spider-Man and Doc Ock, she tried to contact him to see how he was doing but sadly she was unable to. Seemed like his phone was unavailable, most likely destroyed. This led to her having to cash in some favors she had to look up for any admissions of a Peter Parker in the area where the battle took place.

Only thing she was able to find was an admission report at Harlem Medical. The only thing she could find out was that Peter was admitted for severe cranial trauma at the base of his skull.

Carlie placed down the paper as she let out a sigh.

'I should call May, see what's going on with Peter.' She thought to herself.

CRASH!!

Carlie, as well as everyone else in the building, immediately jumped or fell out of their seats as the roof of the NYPD building came crashing down. Sending dust and debris everywhere.

Carlie coughed out as she tried to reach the source of the crash. Waving her arm to disperse some of the dust. Once she got to the epicenter of the crash, she let out a loud gasp at what she saw.

In front of her was Adrian Toomes, A.K.A. the Vulture, lying prone on the ground. All broken and beaten with his eyes bleeding. On top of him was a blue cat glowing red, hissing aggressively.

"H-help." Vulture muttered out, painfully. Begging for someone to save him from this demented cat. "Help me."

Dex-Starr hissed loudly as he started to foam at the mouth. A red corrosive substance leaked from the cat's oral cavity, some of it dripped onto Vulture's chest.

"Argh!" Vulture cried out.

With one last hiss, Dex-Starr got up in Vulture's face and fired a stream of rage plasma at him.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" Vulture wailed out as the red liquid began to burn his face. "HELP ME!!!"

"Oh my God." Carlie muttered. She was frozen in terror at the sight before her. The sounds of the Vulture screaming in agony weren't helping the matter.

Soon those screams died down until it eventually stopped.

Dex-Starr stopped spilling the rage plasma as he looked down at his handy work. Vulture's face had completely melted off. Skin, blood vessels, muscles, and eyes had all turned to mush. With the only thing left undamaged was the skull. The bloody mess before him greatly satisfied the blue feline. The world was freed of another parasite.

Dex-Starr's ear then twitched as he turned to look at Carlie who was behind him. Soon, others arrived, other cops, with their weapon drawn and aimed at the blue cat. All of them looked at the corpse of Vulture in horror.

"Jesus Christ." One cop said as he trained his weapon at Dex-Starr.

"Captain what do we do?" Another asked.

"Circle it, try to detain it. Be careful though, just do it nice and slow." Yuri Watanabe ordered as she and her officers slowly circled the blue cat. Carlie joined them as she drew out her weapon. She carefully approached her captain.

"What the hell is that thing?" Carlie asked.

"I don't know." Yuri replied.

Dex-Starr scowled at the officers before letting out a hiss of warning at them. His body glowed red before Dex-Starr shot up into the air, through the hole in the roof that he had made.

Several cops opened fire at the cat as they closed in. However, it was for naught, as the blue feline had managed to slip away.

"Damn it." Yuri cursed.

"What the hell was that?" Charlie asked.

"I don't know," Yuri answered. She then looked at the mutilated body of Vulture. "But what I do know is this is just the beginning of something big."
