Prompt: "I swear you could trip over your own shadow."

"My shadow's a tricky little bastard. It likes to see me fall to its level."

"Are you sure that he'll be coming to this coffee shop?"

Pru scoffed as she leaned back a little in the chair she sat in between Nate and Tara, the three dressed for their parts in the con. "Parker, I researched the hell out of this guy. Plus, he's going to come down here to check out his competition. Trust the process, woman."

By the end of her little spiel, Nate and Tara were both attempting to hide smirks. The mastermind looked over at the manager. "I think you've been spending too much time with Hardison."

"You are entitled to your opinions."

Before either of them could say anything more, Tara interjected. "Here he comes."

Both Nate and Pru nodded before they stood up as one with looks of awe and wonder. Nate started their walk-away. "Just incredible. Here. Let me give you something for all that you've given us."

Tara made her excuses just like she was supposed to. "Please, you know that I can't accept that. That's not why I do this."

Pru put her hand down onto Tara's, really trying to sell her part of it. "Are you sure?"
The grifter gave her what looked like an actually genuine smile. "I'm sure. I hope you and your uncle find closure."

Nate and Pru both nodded before quickly walking off. They had just gotten past Dalton Rand, who was making his way over towards Tara, when Pru suddenly tripped, barely ended up on her face if Nate hadn't grabbed onto her arm and kept her walking. She took a deep breath in as she felt her face start to go red. "Not a word."

They heard a scoff over comms before Alec spoke up. "You know, Pru, I swear that you could trip over your own shadow."

Nate and Pru were almost to Alec's van (Lucille, as he had apparently named her) as Pru shook her head in response. "Well, my shadow is such a tricky little bastard. It likes to see me fall down to its level."

"That makes absolutely no sense."

Before either of them could say anymore, Nate spoke up once again. "Enough you two. Come on, Tara's starting to close the deal."
