In the morning, Angara was woken up by Serena. Angara was puzzled, and sat up. She watched Serena move about the room. When she came to the bed, and Angara was still in it.
"Where is Tia?" Angara asked.
"She had a death in the family. Her sister-in-law had passed in the middle of the night. She is going to be busy making arrangements to have her buried." Said Serena.
"Did the sister-in-law have other family?" Angara asked.
"Yes, she had a son. His name is Tyrell, and he is a fairly new guard." Said Serena.
"Oh, thank you for telling me." Said Angara.
She then got out of bed, and let Serena help her get ready for the day. Once she was ready, Angara went to the door, and stopped. She turned back to Serena, and asked her a question.
"Is there a maid that is capable to run this household, and look after me, other than Tia?" Angara asked.
"I guess that I am able to do that. Why do you ask, my lady?" Serena asked.
"Because, my mother said that nothing gets done, when there are too many cooks in the kitchen." Said Angara.
The look on Serena's face said that she didn't understand what Angara was talking about. Angara said that it meant that if everyone is giving instructions as to what needs to be done, then nothing will get done, because no one will know who to listen to. Serena now knew what Lady Angara meant; she said that she would look after things till Tia was ready to come back to work. Angara thanked her, and asked if breakfast was ready. Serena said that it should be ready to serve by the time she gets down to the dining room. Angara then sat down at her vanity, and let Serena help finish getting her ready for the day.
When she was ready, she headed down stairs, and was greeted by Garrett.
"Good morning, my lady." Said Garrett.
"Good morning, Garrett. There is a matter I wish to discuss with you before we get started." Said Angara.
They headed to the office, and when Garrett shut the door. Angara turned to him, and asked if he knew about Tia. He looked puzzled for a moment, but then remembered.
"Yes, her sister-in-law died last night." Said Garrett.
"I would like you to go to her, tell her that she and her nephew, Tyrell; are to take as much time as they need to grieve. Please convey that to Asen as well." Said Angara.
"I will do that right after I get you started." Said Garrett.
Garrett then placed a stack of reports on her left, and said they were the most pressing, and then said that he was going to relay the messages. He went to the Guard barracks first, and found Asen listening to the night report.
"Captain Asen, I was wondering if I could have a word with you?" Garrett asked.
"Sure." Said Asen.
Asen thanked the guard for the report, and then told him to get some sleep. Asen then walked over to Garrett, and asked what he needed.
"I was told by Lady Angara to give you a message. You might know that Tyrell's mother passed away last night." Said Garrett.
"I didn't, but that explains why he hasn't started his duties yet." Said Asen.
"Lady Angara wants to let him take as much time as he needs to grieve." Said Garrett.
"That's is not a problem." Said Asen
Garrett then told him to have a good day, and then took his leave. He wondered where he would find Tia, but decided to go to her home. As he was nearing her home, he seen her come out of it. Garrett called out to her, and she waited so he could reach her.
"Garrett did you need something?" Tia asked.
"Lady Angara wanted me to tell you that you are to take as much time as you need to grieve." Said Garrett.
"Thank you, Garrett. That is a load off my mind. I was actually going to ask her for some time so I could help my nephew with arrangements, but with what you just told me, I don't need to." Said Tia.
"Try to have a good day, Tia." Said Garrett.
