Love Letters- Chapter 8, Letter 8
Sesshomaru looked at Kagome's letter. Where did she get this stationary? Why did she have paper that said 'You're having a baby!' on it?
Sesshomaru shook his head and sighed, he would have to ask her when he called. He sat down at his desk and pulled out a piece of paper. He started writing.
My Dearest Kagome,
If I could swear by anything, it would be by the stars. They sparkle just as your eyes do. That's all I see, your beautiful eyes- the blue as stunning as sapphires- when I close mine. I miss you more and more each day. And I love you more and more every day. I miss your voice. I wish I could call you every second of everyday, like I do when I'm home. I wish I could do these trips from home. Or at least bring you with me. I understand why you couldn't come this time, and I'm proud of you. You've become so successful and I'm lucky to call you mine.
I love you my dearest, and I will see you soon,
Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru sent the letter off with Jaken. He was drowning in paperwork but all he could think about was Kagome. Kagome filled his head all the time, especially when he was trying to sleep. He sighed and opened his laptop. He went to YouTube and typed, 'Come On Eileen' in the search box. As the song played, he had an overwhelming feeling of missing Kagome. This was one of their favorite songs to dance to. He let loose when it came on, and Kagome was dancing with him. After that was over, he played Fall Out Boy, what Kagome listens to when she wants to jump on the bed, or write angry songs, or just lay upside down on their bed and think. Then, he played every song Kagome loved. From the Veronicas to The Beatles. He could almost hear her singing along and taking his hand when she sang 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'. There was really nothing to describe how much he missed her. With his little reminders of Kagome, he dove into his paperwork, listening to all of 'their songs'.

Jaken knocked on Kagome's studio door. She was blasting Fall Out Boy and painting. She had to finish her new pieces before the gallery opening. She had all five of them sketched, and just started painting. The gallery would have paintings and photographs, and Kagome was glad she was finished with all of the darkroom part of making her photographs; the chemicals wouldn't be good for the babies. The painting she was working on was her favorite. She had first drawn it when she was 16, after a conversation with Sesshomaru about trees and nature and life. It was a tree with exposed roots, with a sunset background and red-purple flowers both on the tree and drifting downward. Sesshomaru chose it for the opening, and Kagome was always planning to put it on canvas. She didn't hear Jaken knocking, but she heard the door tentatively open and Jaken's voice.
"…..uhm…..Lady Kagome?"
"Hi Jaken." Kagome said, turning down the music and putting down her paintbrush.
"Here's your letter milady."
"Thanks, you can just head to the house; I'll give you mine there later."
"Okay milady." Jaken said, bowing and leaving the studio.
Kagome placed the letter on the table next to her paints and decided she'd look at it later. She wanted to get a little farther in painting before she read and replied. Jakotsu and Bankotsu came a little while later, when Panic! At The Disco was playing, with sandwiches in their hands.
"We brought you some lunch pumpkin, Sango said you'd be here all day and probably forget to pack a lunch!" Jakotsu said, handing Kagome a sandwich.
"Thanks guys, I totally forgot about the time."
"How's the morning sickness Kags?" Bankotsu asked, sitting in one of the armchairs in the corner.
"It's fine… surprisingly only in the morning." Kagome smiled and took a bite of her sandwich, after wiping her paint-stained hands off on her jeans.
"Please don't tell me you are gonna start wearing those hideous pregnancy jeans when you get bigger!" Jakotsu said, smiling at Kagome's ripped-at-the-knee jeans that she always wore when she was painting.
"Nope, just maxi skirts and dresses." Kagome said, "And aprons." She added, laughing.
The boys laughed with her and they ate lunch. After, they moved around the room, laughing and dancing to the music while Kagome sat down at the desk to write back to Sesshomaru.
My Love,
Soon isn't soon enough! I want to see you NOW! I just have so much to tell you. So much I want to talk about. It's all better said in person! Hurry home to me darling, but only if you miss me as much as I miss you. The only reminder I have of you is Inu, and let's face it, he's no you. I love him to pieces but he's not my sugar sweet darling.
I'll call you tonight,
Kagome
