I disclaim everything that needs to be. Your reviews are so sweet; it honestly makes it more fun to write knowing y'all actually wanna read it. (which is hard to know in my career as a poet/writer).. Please know I appreciate them SO much.
Bold means a change in location and/ or time or time period. Italics are thoughts or Sesshomaru's inner demon talking, or flashbacks.
Rin means "dignified", Kama means "love", Haru means "Eternal Treasure", Lev means "love", Kei means "blessings", Caia means "rejoice"
NOTE: Technically everyone in this story is human. The Tashios (and other traditionally demon characters) are descendants of the demons of the past. It's like…. evolution? So they're human but they have the wealth, tradition, features (tweaked of course), of the "Demon Past" as well as some evolutionary things like stronger sense of smell. Sesshomaru's flower pattern kimono design from the anime will be incorporated into a tattoo. Kagome's family will have its own set of things like this. But that's for later.
NOTE 2: Sesshomaru's father- Ken Tashio will be addressed as both Papa Ken and Papa Inu. Papa Inu is his title as the head of the house, though informal. Papa Ken is what Kagome calls him as a father figure, and what he will be referred to as to/by the twins.
Love Letters- Chapter 19, Letter 20
"Dad she thought I was leaving her. I had to tell her something."
"Leaving her?! What could've led her to that conclusion?" Ken gasped, he was deeply annoyed that his son spilled the surprise before letting Kagome into the house.
Sesshomaru sighed, "I really don't know. The hormones make her moody sometimes, but it hasn't been this bad before."
Ken laughed, "Listen son, your Kagome has had a very easy pregnancy. Izayoi couldn't be in the same room as me without starting an argument or breaking into hysterics for her last two trimesters, and your mother…"
Sesshomaru interrupted his father, "I understand, I just want her happy. She's spent all her time in the nursery since the shower, she basically sleeps in there. I can't tell if she wants me around but if I'm away for too long she's convinced I'm leaving her."
Hearing the confusion and sadness in his son's voice, Ken let a soft smile come to his face, "she loves you. She wants you with her, nesting and spending time in the nursery. Just talk to her, Sesshomaru, you're acting like she's a different person. She's Kagome." He hung up and left his son to his thoughts.
Sesshomaru looked up from his journal, thinking about his father's words. They'd been in their new house a few weeks now; it was fully unpacked by their second day. Working from home, mostly to avoid paparazzi, Sesshomaru kept up with his meetings via video-call and Kagome worked in her new Painting Studio.
Ken called him from the office at least once a day, since the shower, to express just how annoyed he was that Sesshomaru ruined the big surprise. Inuyasha and Kikyo's presence in the house was felt, as they all moved through their daily lives, but his brother and sister-in-law gave them space, and for that Sesshomaru was thankful. They ate all of their meals together, with Souta joining them, Hitomi in tow at times. Ken and Izayoi came over at least once a week to join them as a full family.
When they started decorating, it was always in the afternoons. Kagome and Sesshomaru worked together, room by room. They spent days hanging art and photographs. He was especially proud of the collage of family photos they made of one wall of their living room. Kagome placed each frame so the eye moved seamlessly around the photos, without missing a single shot. Sesshomaru was in charge of the photos themselves, adding maternity photos, baby shower photos, and many that Kagome had never seen before from their lives together. Soon, nearly the entire wall was covered in their lives together, and their families.
If Kagome wasn't overseeing the final touches of the displays for the gallery opening, or being annoyed at her appointments with Dr. Kaede, she was in the nursery. Aia's gifts, the wardrobes for the first 5 years of the twins' life, were still coming in the mail. Kagome was organizing them slowly, by size, color, and style, in the closets. That's what she said she was doing on this morning, while he caught up on work emails in his office. He could look up from his desk, through the open door, and across the hall and see her while he was on the phone, popping in and out of the closet and eventually lowering herself to the floor to lay on her back. Sesshomaru looked at the calendar pulled up on his laptop, instead of his endless stream of emails. Marked in the color he associated with his love, lilac, "Kagome's Gallery Opening" was highlighted for July 21st. Two more days. Then maybe he could convince her to rest. He'd gotten Ken and Kanna to cut down on their appearances and interviews, and her months of fatigue really allowed this time in their lives to be focused on them, which was in line with Sesshomaru's original plan.
*In the Nursery*
Kagome laid on the floor, looking up. Jakotsu and Bankotsu painted clouds on the ceiling, fluffy and emphasizing the airiness of the room. She'd finished both unpacking the latest set of clothes, and installing the handmade crib mobiles. Kagome and Sango made the mobiles together, with Souta helping to paint. Haru's mobile was a cluster of stars and comets, and Rin's was a cluster of flowers and sunbursts. She'd painted butterflies on the wall next to her crib, alluding their flight towards the ceiling clouds, with Sesshomaru's assistance in the highest place.
The times he wasn't too afraid to be near her, he delighted in putting the finishing touches on the nursery. Kagome loved their time together, but understood his fear and knew why he was giving her so much space. She knew she was edgy; she'd laid on the floor to relax a little. She was anxious. Souta had been home for the entire summer, but spent almost no time at home. He had his friends, his new flirtation with Hitomi, and an internship at Sango's father's tech company. Kagome knew he was busy, and powerfully protected, but she was intensely worried about him. Especially after Hiro and Shynah's consistent resurfacing in the time since the gender reveal party. Ken had a separate security team protecting him, four guys deep.
Kagome knew their old address leaked, fully. She knew Hiro and Shynah were the ones to do it. It was obvious; Ken asked Shin to intercept, and check all mail and packages going to that address before allowing it to be forwarded to their new place, where Jaken was in charge returning and getting rid of things as needed. The old house was getting pummeled with gifts from their fans, and everything Shynah "tried" to send them. Even though Sesshomaru and Ken spent a great deal of time and effort keeping her from most entertainment outlets, even going so far to refuse to answer her questions when Ginta and Taiji paraded into the living room with boxes and envelopes every night. Instead, they insisted that they were 'baby shower gifts'. Or 'fan mail'. Kagome still had her art friends, plus Eri's reminders to post pregnancy updates on Instagram. It was one of her old boyfriends, Akitoki, that asked her about the leak, confirming her suspicions. He was asking to send a gift to the twins, since he'd missed the shower. His exact words were "I guess I'm not sending my gifts to the address floating thru my TL? ;)"
Akitoki Ito was one of the more experimental photographers in the scene. He loved taboo subject matter, and frequently indulged Kagome's wild side in both their romantic and platonic relationships. Sesshomaru and Inuyasha were not the biggest fans of him, but Miroku found him funny enough to tolerate him while he hung around. Infidelity and frankly, adultery, separated them, right before his unfortunate run in with crabs, Kagome laughed when she thought of the metaphorical bullet she dodged. They were still cool, though Sesshomaru was convinced Akitoki had underlying feelings. Kagome assured him that distance, time, and growth on her part, would prevent them from dating again. His gifts for the twins were true to his personality and eclectic art style, custom highchairs. They were both dragons, adorned with these beautiful colors and jewels. Rin's sparkled in gold and Haru's in silver. Sesshomaru couldn't say he wasn't impressed, even though he was annoyed that Akitoki decided to send gifts.
Her husband called those years her "wild" ones, and she giggled to herself. Kagome's wild years were not that long ago; she'd only "calmed" during her 22nd year. From 18 through most of 22, she was an Artist. She was experimental in the art she made, exploring her grief, anger, and self through the lens of her camera and paintbrush. Sesshomaru was one of her best friends during that time, they hadn't started dating until almost her 23rd birthday. Instead he watched over her, protected her like a good friend would. He picked her up from whatever art gallery or bar she'd argued with whatever boyfriend she ended up at. He'd nurse her hangovers and be the main source for a model in her photos. His friends delighted in teasing him, seeing his devotion to a woman he wasn't in a relationship with, but they all knew how important she was.
Even in her wild days, she sparkled, attracting everyone to her. Sesshomaru felt as caught by her as any of her other boyfriends did, and they all told her so. Sesshomaru used the word compelled. There were men, Inuyasha and their other friends tried to convince her, who would never be fully out of love with her. She rolled her eyes at the thought of the pedestal these men placed her on. She knew Sesshomaru loved all of her. He'd had a front row seat to the worst parts of her life, the worst parts of herself, and still loved her. Sesshomaru saw her vulnerability without attaching it to weakness. He allowed her to be flawed, when she felt everyone around her wanted her perfect. That is why she loved him, she knew he was her match.
Kagome sighed, moving to get up. She felt Sesshomaru's hands on her back immediately, helping her stand.
"You always know when I want to get up." She commented, taking in the comforting smell of his cologne.
He smirked, "I can see you from the office."
"That doesn't explain your timing."
He smiled, shrugging and took her hand, leading her to the plush rocking chair in the corner. Motioning for her to sit, Sesshomaru knelt at Kagome's feet, pulling her legs into his lap to rub her ankles. His hands brushed the magenta striped tattoo on her left ankle, a symbol of the Tashio family. Remembering the day she'd told him she was getting it, his eyes softened.
Aside from the crescent moon symbol, his line had many ancestral tattoos. The ones each carrier of the name shared were the stripes around their ankles, wrists, and biceps, each acquired in a new phase of life and maturity. Every member of the House had their ankles tattooed. Kagome'd gotten her ankle tattoo on her 21st birthday, after being given her first official crescent moon gift from Ken and Izayoi. Both the gift and the tattoo meant that she was part of their family whether she married into it or not, she was part of the Tashio House. The ceremony involved all of them, Aia included, and required the permission of every living member of the line.
As the eldest son, Sesshomaru got his first tattoo on his 16th birthday. Kagome was by his side as the dark blue crescent moon was tattooed on the inside of both of his forearms, as she insisted on holding his hand. She was basically in Inuyasha's lap when he got his first ancestral tattoo, a sword on his left calf, at his insistence. By their 18th birthdays, both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha had their biceps and ankles tattooed, matching Ken's. Izayoi and Aia had their ankles tattooed, along with Ken's symbol, the purple starburst. Inuyasha had his wrists tattooed after he and Kikyo got married, with Kikyo getting her left thigh tattooed with his sword.
Now, as he entered the next phase of his life, Sesshomaru was preparing for his wrist tattoos. He'd married, and after their official wedding ceremony, both he and Kagome were getting tattoos. Sesshomaru, on his wrists, and flowered pattern on his shoulder. Both were symbols of "mating" in the Inu line, the flowered pattern his symbol as the eldest son. Kagome was getting her mating mark, a dark blue crescent moon, the size of a quarter dollar. It was to be tattooed on the left side of her neck, in the dip of her collarbone. Sesshomaru was also planning on tattooing one of Kagome's art pieces, one made especially for him, as an upper sleeve. That, she didn't know yet. He was going to tell her after the twins were born, he wanted it as part of the wedding planning. It was tradition for them to get their marriage tattoos during the reception, and he planned on their tattoo artist meeting them back at their house afterwards for more.
Sesshomaru looked up at Kagome, her breathing slowed as she drifted to sleep. He'd noticed she'd been waiting up for him every night, staying awake until she was sure he fell asleep. She'd been using his weakness, head massages, to ensure he fell asleep before she did. It didn't help that Sesshomaru slept almost exclusively with his head tucked between Kagome's head and belly. It was the only place he could hear all three of their heartbeats clearly while being in range of her lips.
He was realizing that his father was right, Kagome was still her. His fear of her was his nervousness about their lives changing, and he knew she felt it too. But being in her presence, he was relaxed, even more so as she eased at his presence and touch. Sesshomaru continued gently massaging Kagome's ankles, legs, and feet. He missed being around her, his instincts were pulling him toward her at all times.
They stayed there for a few more minutes, Sesshomaru enjoying her presence. And knowing she was actually resting now, more than she'd been over the last week or so. Kagome stirred, a content sound coming from her as she stretched awake.
"I swear I fall asleep at the drop of a hat nowadays."
He smiled up at her, "honestly, you were always kind of like this. Simply because you insist on burning the candle at both ends."
She scrunched her nose at him, moving to stand. Sesshomaru rose and helped her to her feet, "you've done a beautiful job with the nursery, Kaggie."
She leaned into him, looping her arms around his hips. He returned the hug, taking in the smell of her sweet lavender shampoo. The moments of their embrace were sweet, Sesshomaru was annoyed when he heard Kagome's phone ring. She released him and went to the diaper changing station, stopping the Frank Ocean ringtone.
"Hello? Oh hi Meiko! How's everything? No! They're still baking…"
Sesshomaru watched as she laughed with her old friend. Meiko was a dancer, and frequently modeled for Kagome. They'd become close during Kagome's time at Columbia. The three of them shared an apartment, even. He wasn't surprised to see her in Paris most of the time, if not touring with one of his artists from Image Productions. She was currently on tour with his top artist, Rihanna.
Kagome wandered out of the room, chatting on the phone. Sesshomaru took a look at the now vacant room. She'd really done a wonderful job, it was finished, aside from the clothes his mother would continue to send. Most of their new toys were neatly organized in the play closet, and Kagome's hospital bag was mostly packed near the door. They were ready now, it seemed.
Sesshomaru nudged the hospital bag with his toe, their birth plan was almost no plan. Kagome wanted to have a home and water birth, at first. Neither he, nor Dr. Kaede were thrilled with the idea. The complications in having twins were high, and he wanted to make sure they were prepared for every possible outcome. They opted for a compromise. Kagome would get her water birth, in a private, guarded wing of the hospital. That way Sesshomaru could make sure they were all taken care of. He would take them home as soon as possible.
Following the sound of her voice, he found her in the kitchen, sitting at the island, a large bag of her favorite chips on one side of her and a bowl of grapes on the other. She was deeply engrossed in her phone, scrolling through her emails. Sinking down next to her, Sesshomaru busied himself with his own emails, occasionally taking some of her chips. She was 33 weeks now, and spent most of her downtime in Sesshomaru's clothes. Even now, she was in one of his hoodies, large enough to cover her "massive" bump and reach her knees. Kagome'd measured it, almost 35 cm around. She felt like a planet. An unsexy, massive, planet.
Sighing, he typed Kagome's phone number into the body of the email and sent it off. Her newest clients, found through her Showcase dinner and Tashio Inc, were trying to get in touch with her. Sesshomaru had Kagome's phone number changed after Hiro's voicemail, twice. He almost got her a brand new phone, but Ken called it overkill. Her number was given out by Sesshomaru, Ken, or Eri, if not by Kagome herself. They were doing all they could to keep Hiro and Shynah as far away from them as possible. If Hiro found her number, after all of these years, he would do the work to get it again.
He mused about their wedding shower. It was one of the many things they'd postponed due to Kagome's fatigue. Now, their wedding planning was pushed back until after the twins were born. It seemed like there was never enough time, there was always one more event to plan or doctor's appointment. Sesshomaru knew their lives would only get more and more chaotic, but the challenge excited him.
"Sesshomaru." Kagome nudged his arm.
"hmm?" looking toward her, he took in her annoyed expression.
She rolled her eyes, "I've been saying your name for like…. minutes. I was telling you that today's my final walkthrough."
"It is, indeed. Would you like me to accompany you?"
Kagome turned her attention to the bowl of grapes she was eating, "you can come if you want to. I have to make sure all the silk flowers are secure. Who would you have babysit me otherwise?"
"'Gome, I'm your husband. I'm not babysitting you."
She smiled, "puppy-guard, then."
Standing, Sesshomaru kissed the top of her head, "I'll take it. When do you wanna go?"
She tilted her head, "gimme an hour."
He was lingering, she glowed in the late morning sunlight and he was captivated by her. Especially when she was wearing his clothes. Kagome'd started subtly wearing his jackets and t-shirts in high school. He'd offered them as painting shirts, or jackets to warm her in the chilly darkroom. It was a proud feeling deep in the pit of his stomach when he saw her wearing his clothes. She was gorgeous, and the only time he wanted her out of his clothes is when he was removing them.
He was so wrapped up in her, Sesshomaru didn't even notice Kagome turning in her chair to look at him.
"why are you looking at me like that?" a knowing smile on her face.
His eyes snapped up to hers, "like what?"
"like you're going to eat me," Kagome laughed, standing to wrap her arms around his neck, "or you want to induce labor."
He snaked his arms around her, feeling her belly against him as he lifted her from the chair to the island counter, "can it not be both?"
Kagome laughed and kissed his neck, "well Dr. Kaede will be upset if you induce labor! I won't, because it's probably the most fun way I could go into labor. But the pregnancy books say…"
He pulled back, slightly, "say….?"
She smiled, "that it's a good idea to keep those muscles working…...before the big show."
Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow at her. His arms shifted to lift her up onto his hips, pressing his lips to her jawline, "you know how hard it's been to keep my hands off you…"
She giggled as he moved his hands from holding her close to the hem of the hoodie she wore, and up her thighs. She'd worn this hoodie for a reason, what better way to convince her love that she was still his than a little seduction?
Sesshomaru's head was buried in her neck, licking and nipping at her soft skin. He longed to taste her, his hands toying with the lace covering her warm center. He moved to her lips, capturing them in wanton desire. Kagome locked her ankles around her lover's hips, her permission at his silent request. Lifting her, he wasted no time in moving to the stairs and up to their bedroom, letting the door click closed behind him as he laid her down on the bed gently, keeping her sitting up.
Catching her breath as Sesshomaru peppered kisses up her legs, Kagome reached up and pulled her hair out of the bun it was wrapped up in. Her curls cascaded around her head and pillows. Sesshomaru looked up, deep blue eyes connecting with amber ones as he tugged her lace panties down her legs. He wanted to take his time but he ached for her. To taste, hear, feel her desire build as he brought her to release over and over. His hands moved to lift the hoodie up her thighs, panties discarded, and gently spreading her legs.
The dark curls glistened with her essence as he leaned in to lap at her folds. Kagome moaned as Sesshomaru flicked his tongue over the sensitive muscles of her clit. She knew he was trying to take his time; her need would soon surpass his sweet pace. One more flick across her clit, and Sesshomaru dove his tongue as deep as he could, immediately bringing a yelp of pleasure from Kagome's throat.
"Sessh…"
He looked up as he slipped two fingers into her heat, watching her head drop against the pillows in desire. Using his fingers and his tongue, he continued his ravishment. He wanted every drop, groaning as he felt her muscles clamp down on his fingers and tongue. She was close to her end.
Kagome writhed, a choppy scream leaving her lips, as he brought her to her climax, lapping up every drop. Slipping his fingers out of her and into his mouth, Sesshomaru sat up and looked at her. She was gorgeous, a light layer of sweat on her face as she caught her breath. Her eyes opened, instantly locking with his. A soft smile faded onto her mouth.
"hi," her voice was shy, almost coy.
Sesshomaru smirked and moved to sit next to her, "hey."
Kagome crossed her legs, leaning forward to pick up the damp panties her husband put aside, "how are you feeling?"
"how are you feeling, Kags?"
She rolled her eyes and looked at him, "Sessh, you tell me, Papa Ken, Inu, Souta, the Paps….all of us how excited you are. I know you're excited, I am too. But I'm also, scared."
Sesshomaru laced his fingers into hers, stopping her from getting up, "I'm scared too. I just don't want to make you more nervous."
Kagome leaned into her love's shoulder, feeling him relax at her cuddle, "what are you nervous about?"
He sighed, "the birth. I don't like seeing you in pain. And I want to make sure everything goes smoothly. I'm more than ready to be the father to your children, Kagome. I'm not nervous at all about fatherhood. If I'm half the dad ours are? These kids are going to be drowning in love and support."
Kagome giggled, "that's it?"
"Don't tell me you aren't nervous about the birth?"
"I am! But that's only what? 24 hours of active labor? Maybe 36? It's gonna hurt love, but being a parent is way scarier for me."
Sesshomaru nodded, Kagome's anxieties were about her parenting. She was terrified she would turn into her mother, ignoring her kids for her vices. Losing herself and putting another man before her husband and kids.
"I know you're gonna be a great dad, Sessh. I know that. I can only hope to be like Mama Aia or Mama Izayoi." Kagome continued.
"You're going to be an incredible mother, Kaggie. I promise," he kissed the top of her head, "We're gonna do our best to love and care for these twins as much as we were loved and cared for. You are not your mother."
Kagome sighed, nodding, "I guess we'll see," she kissed Sesshomaru's hand and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, "we have to go or Eri will flip."
"I love you, Kagome." Sesshomaru stood, changing into a pair of jeans and a soft grey band t-shirt.
"I love you too," she pulled a clean pair of panties up her legs, taking in his outfit, "Blink 182? The Paps are gonna die over that look. Sesshomaru showing his music tastes at last."
Sesshomaru smirked, "you're wearing my old Fall Out Boy hoodie, I figured I'd follow the trend."
Kagome slid her sock and chunky heeled-boots over her knees, "I was going to wear the Beyoncé one but it doesn't fit right now and I really don't want to stretch it."
"Janelle Monáe?" He pulled a brush through his hair.
"Packed. Hospital Outfit." Kagome sighed, "Mama Aia's outfits are great but I like your clothes too. Plus, I'm wearing actual maternity clothes for the Gallery After Party."
He moved to the other side of the bed, providing arm support as she lifted herself off of the bed, shoes on, "about this after party…."
Kagome laughed, moving out of the room to the stairs, picking up her backpack-purse on from the lounge chair near the door, "don't start, love. It's happening, Papa Ken has everything all set. It's a red carpet affair! Plus, everyone's gonna think I'm in labor if I don't go."
Sesshomaru followed, picking up his wallet, keys, and phone from the kitchen counter. Loading Kagome into his Range Rover, they headed to the art gallery where Kagome was about to be featured. Shin and the other bodyguards were close behind.
Simplicity was a gallery run by a Tsubaki Trenn. Building locations in New York, Paris, and Brazil, she'd made her living buying, selling, and featuring art all over the world. She'd met Kagome when she asked her to participate in an Art Show honoring her father. Now, for the opening of Simplicity LA, Kagome's art filled the entire gallery. Only a few paintings and photographs from each room were for sale, and Kagome made a booklet full of paintings for the gallery-goers to take home, free of charge. It was Ken who reminded her about the merch, prompting her to choose her favorite paintings in the gallery for the designs.
They arrived to see Eri standing out front with her arm crossed, ignoring the paparazzi's questions and tapping her foot. Leon lingered in the doorway.
Kagome laughed, "I told you she would be mad."
"You are pregnant," Sesshomaru grinned, pulling into a parking spot, "these things take time. Imagine her wait when you're carting around two newborns."
Kagome chuckled, reaching to unbuckle her seatbelt. Gathering her Gucci backpack-purse from the backseat, Sesshomaru rushed to help her out of the car. All the while, the paparazzi snapped their photos and asked their questions. Sesshomaru gave a wave and ignored most questions, Kagome glowing into the cameras as she walked in the large double doors. Eri and Sesshomaru were not far behind.
The lobby of the gallery held Kagome's artist headshot and the name of the show, "Nature's Best Parts." Kagome immediately moved to the first room, the galaxies. Her Secret Admirer room turned out perfectly. The multicolored lights changed colors gradually, emphasizing the colors painted. A reflection of her favorite painting in the series was projected onto the celling.
"Wow, Kagome…" Sesshomaru took in the sight of his love letters on the wall. She'd brought his descriptions to life, better than he ever could've. Looking at his wife, he saw focus on her face.
"Eri, tell Tsubaki that the lights on the east wall needs to be switched. The color sequencing cannot be the same on both sides or else its gonna look like a runway."
Eri scribbled her notes as Kagome continued to move through the room, checking the positions of all the paintings and lights. Writing in her journal, she noted every tweak and change. Satisfied with her notes, she took Sesshomaru's hand and led them to the next room. The entryway looked just as she designed it, the branches and silk flowers mixed perfectly to create the archway. As they moved into the rom, Sesshomaru contained his gasp of awe and let pride glow on his face. The trees framing each painting was covered in the silk flowers Kagome spent so much time crafting.
"We need….six more tigerliles…..four more marigolds…..twelve more roses, in both colors…."
"Kagome, do you have time to make all these?" Eri asked quietly, taking in the amount of work added so close to the opening.
She rolled her eyes, "it takes like… two minutes to make a flower, Eri. I can do it tonight while Sessh and I watch the news. Or SVU. I'll have you or Jaken pick them up and bring them to Tsubaki."
Eri looked at Sesshomaru, silently asking for help. This was the second of four rooms, and all the notes Kagome wanted were growing.
"What, you don't think it can get done in time?" Kagome looked up from her journal, "honestly, I could get it done myself today if y'all are so concerned…"
Sesshomaru put his hand on her back, "I have full confidence you can get it done, love."
"I know, Sessh. I'm asking Eri, she looks the most concerned that I'm hand making more flowers." Kagome smiled, moving into the "Limbs" room.
This was a room executed perfectly, she could only guess because it featured Sesshomaru's body. The close up 35 mm photos of his muscles making up his form aligned perfectly with the orange and amber toned lights. Her collage was made to show him 'bare', the details of his body that she was most drawn to. Eri's phone rang, Kanna's name flashing onto the screen. She excused herself and left Kagome and Sesshomaru to the "Limbs" room and the final room, "Sesshy, will you take a picture?"
He raised an eyebrow at the mischief in her voice, but nodded, taking out his phone. He prepared the phone camera, and waited for whatever idea she had.
Grinning, Kagome bent to the photograph of his upper left thigh. The Calvin Klein boxer briefs were in most of the images for this row, with outlining just how well endowed he was. Opening her mouth, Kagome stuck her tongue out as if she were going to lick the photo itself. More so, the bulge of his underwear.
"Cheeky," He smirked and took the shot, ignoring that she looked similar to when she actually performed that action, "somehow I think Inuyasha, Mirkou, and Kouga are going to have a wonderful time playing in this room."
Kagome laughed and reached for his hand to help her stand, "I couldn't resist so I'm sure they won't either."
Sesshomaru lifted her to her feet and kissed her forehead, "I'll just put it as the IPad background, I'm sure Father would get a kick out of it in meetings."
Kagome waved her hand dismissively and giggled, moving into the final room of the gallery, "You wouldn't dare, Kagura sits in on far too many of your meetings."
The last room was reminiscent of her Father's work. The surrealist landscape paintings were Dalí-esqe, pulling in many different dreamscapes Kagome'd journaled over the last year. Her favorite was a painting of the last dream her father told her, so she featured it in the center of the room.
As Kagome adjusted the "Dreams" room, Sesshomaru watched from the doorway. He'd been taking pictures, subtly, as they moved through the gallery, simply because he liked watching her work. She was focused and determined, and the pictures he was taking he would show to their children. Only a few weeks from her due date and she was hard at work on her art. The pictures of her big bump painting, sewing, working, were all images Sesshomaru treasured.
"This room doesn't really need anything," Kagome noted, "the clouds held up and were put up correctly…..maybe some lighting. Interchanging blues, right love?"
"I think the blues would be perfect," he agreed, looking up at the clouds Kagome made to house the lights.
"Then I supposed we're done," she smiled up at him, "hungry?"
Sesshomaru led her back to Eri, who was still on the phone in the lobby. She waved them off as Leon opened the door and ushered them back to Sesshomaru's Range Rover. Their destination, home, where Chef Tati was making dinner. Inuyasha and Kikyo were going to join them, especially since Dr. Kaede told him it was a waiting game. They just had to wait for her water to break, and then it was go time.
The drive was littered with paparazzi following them, asking them questions as they drove home. Kagome was yawning as the mid-afternoon sunlight warmed her face. She'd been cramping, and feeling a little more anxious than usual, but couldn't pinpoint why. Her eyes drawn to the car clock, 2:43 PM, her father's number. 234. A lazy smile came to her face, she missed him. He felt close though, maybe through the energy of her unborn son.
Sesshomaru pulled into their driveway, finally free of the press, and parked. Helping Kagome out of the car, he immediately scooped her into his arms to carry her to bed to nap before dinner. He'd noticed her getting sleepier and sleepier. She was nearly asleep as he laid her into their bed.
Taking in the momentary free time, he sat at his bedroom desk. Taking out his paper and gold envelope, he started to write.
My Beloved Haru and Rin,
You will soon understand how proud I am of your mother. Even though you two will still be inside during the gallery opening, we will take you to see the art your mother created while creating you. When you both are here, I don't know if she will ever rest. Your mother is incredible, a powerful and strong woman. We are so blessed to have her, be loved by her. She loves you so fiercely, so much more than she's ever loved anyone. Even me. I know there will never be anyone I love more than the three of you. I cannot wait to spend lifetimes showing you.
A soft knock came to the door, Jaken peeking his head in. Sesshomaru looked up, setting his pen down.
"I apologize for interrupting, Lord Sesshomaru. It is urgent."
He sighed and left his letter on the desk. Making sure Kagome was still asleep, he stepped out of the bedroom, "what is it Jaken?"
"Hiro and Shynah are at the front door."
*that's it for this chapter! Next is whatever bullshit Shynah and Haru are bringing, and the gallery opening. Then, the birth! I really appreciate y'all taking the time to read my stories! Let me know what y'all think! –Inu'sgurl97 *
