Ekko had learned how to bake from one of the Firelights he housed at his camp.

And it was time to do something with the knowledge.

"Okay, so we're going to be baking. You up to that, Isha?" Ekko looked at the small Zaunite girl who was currently staring at a beetle-like creature in a jar.

She perked her head up at the sound of her name, then grinned a gap tooth smile and nodded yes. Isha set down the jar and stood up, scrambling over to Ekko's side.

"Alright, let me go find the recipe book. Jinx likes to steal the books and not put them back where they belong." Ekko walked off.

"We're going to make some cupcakes." Ekko came back, looking in the big recipe book.

Isha raised her brows and made a noise of acknowledgment.

"Can you help me get the ingredients?" Ekko asked, and Isha nodded yes. "Okay, we need flour, baking powder, salt, unsalted butter, sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, eggs and milk."

Isha wandered off into the kitchen, searching the whole place down for said ingredients, meanwhile Ekko went to the oven and began preheating it, shoveling charcoal into the chute.

"Cracking eggs is going to be messy, so you have to be extra careful—" Ekko didn't even get time to explain before Isha broke one of the eggs and it dripped all over the counter. "Eugh." Isha made a noise as she furrowed her brow at the mess. "Yeah, that happens." Ekko sighed, but he had a smile on his face. "Here, I'll get it up then show you how to do it." Ekko grabbed a hand-towel and slowly began wiping up the mess.

Ekko put the towel down and grabbed an egg out of the basket, "First, you take it in your hand like this. Then you carefully tap the eggshell on the bowl like this a few times." Ekko hit the egg gently against the edge of the bowl. It cracked, and he grabbed it with both hands. "Then you take it like this and crack it open into the bowl." Ekko cracked it open with his fingers and the yolk plopped into the bowl. "Ah!" Isha gasped with a grin.

Her hands then eagerly held out, wanting an egg so she could try it.

Ekko quickly wiped her hands with the towel, then gave her an egg.

She did like Ekko did, a piece of eggshell fell in the bowl and Ekko had to fish it out, but it wasn't messy at least. "See, that was a good job." Ekko complimented her.

Jinx peeked into the kitchen, seeing the bowl of frosting that Ekko and Isha had been making. The smell of cupcakes were slowly beginning to fill the kitchen, as they were baking in the oven. Jinx sneakily slipped into the kitchen and approached the bowl, dipping her finger into the frosting, taking a blob of it, and putting it in her mouth.

"Oi!" Ekko was heard behind her.

Jinx turned her head, her finger in-between her lips, her brows raised.

"That's for the cupcakes!" Ekko lightly and playfully smacked her shoulder with the oven mitt. Jinx took her finger out of her mouth. "The cupcakes aren't gonna miss this blob of frosting, sheesh." Jinx rolled her eyes with a smirk.

Isha approached and looked up at Jinx, "Mama!" Isha scolded, holding up her hand to sign no(taking her index and middle finger and putting it to her thumb).

"Sorry, I'll wait until the cupcakes are done." Jinx held her hands up. Isha nodded yes and then gave her a soft hug, wrapping her arms around Jinx's leg.

Jinx knelt down and gave her a hug. Jinx then tilted her helmet up a bit and carefully planted a kiss on her forehead, before putting the helmet back down right.

Isha giggled.

"So, is the frosting available now, or do I not get the leftover bowl frosting either?" Jinx stood at the doorway, her hands on her hip. "Jinx." Ekko cracked a smile, trying not to laugh at her.

"Sure, you can have the bowl frosting. But we have fully frosted cupcakes sitting right here." Ekko gestured at the freshly frosted cupcakes. "I'll have one of those too." Jinx snickered, approaching the bowl and beginning to scoop the frosting onto her finger to eat it.

"Definitely one of my better ideas." Ekko sat around with Isha and Jinx, eating vanilla cupcakes.

Isha and Jinx both had frosting all over their face, mainly on their noses, Ekko found that funny.

"Mhm." Isha agreed. "If I tried to bake, I would have started a fire." Jinx said jokingly.
