Harry and Ginny were sitting at Grimuald place watching their one year old son, James play with his blocks. They were each thinking about the time to come. They had just learned that Ginny was pregnant with baby number 2. Each knew that finances were going to get tougher. Harry was a senior Auror at the ministry and was the next in line to become Head Auror.

Winky, their house-elf, popped into announce lunch was ready. After the war, Harry had been astonished to find that the elves required a bond and that Dobby had a small bond with him that had allowed him to survive as long as he did. He shared his magic with Winky so that she could survive. Harry had immediately offered a bond to Winky who accepted. Kreacher was given small tasks due to his age.

Just as they were finishing up lunch, Winky popped in with a crème colored envelope. Harry immediately recognized the seal as from Gringotts. Things were tense between the Goblins and Harry since his break-in during the war. He had repaid them as much as he could and Kingsley had smoothed things over also.

Harry opened the letter and read:

Dear Mister Potter,

Having reached your 25th birthday recently, it means that you are able to come into your inheritance. We ask that you bring yourself and this letter to Gringotts at your earliest convenience and present it to a teller.

Gringotts

Harry was stunned. He knew nothing of an inheritance.

Ginny said, "Harry?"

Harry passed her the letter.

Ginny was stunned. She had heard that the Potters had a fortune, but presumed that most of it had been used by Harry's father to fund the first war against Voldemort. That's what her parents had always told her. Ginny said, "I guess you should go immediately and see what this is about."

Harry said, "I believe so, too. You be okay while I am gone?"

Ginny said, "Of course, dear."

Harry bent and kissed her. He ruffled James' hair. James looked so much like him it scared him. Except for his eyes. He was glad that James had inherited his mother's chocolate eyes.

After leaving the house, Harry took the bus to Charring Crossroads. He never did learn to drive, and apparating into and out of the house scared James for some reason, so he just tended to catch public transportation around if he needed to get around. He hated flooing which Ginny thought was hilarious.

After entering the Leaky Cauldron, Harry nodded to the barman. Missing Tom. He had retired recently. It was somewhat quiet in the alley. Many whispers followed Harry as he headed to Gringotts. This was something that Harry hated. His fame had grown after he defeated Riddle the final time.

In Gringotts, Harry waited in line for a teller. He noticed several goblins nearby fingering their blades when they saw him. Harry shook his head.

"Next."

Harry stepped up to the teller, wincing when he saw it was Griphook. Griphook sneared at him. He said, "What can Gringotts do for you today Mr. Potter."

Harry said, "I received this letter today, and wish to take care of the business mentioned."

Griphook practically whipped the letter out of his hands, and read it. He switched his window to close, hopped off his stool and came around the counter. Griphook motioned Harry to follow him. Harry followed him down a hallway that was somewhat familiar with Harry. He had been down this hallway many times in the days that followed the war to get his break-in taken care of.

They stopped at an ornate door. Harry gulped in a way. He was being presented to the King of the Goblin nation.

Griphook opened the door and spoke in his language to the king.

King Ragnok said, "Come in Mr. Potter. Thank you for answering our summons so quickly. Please have a seat. I have already gotten the necessary things ready to validate you say who you are, which is a requirement for the inheritance."

Harry nodded and sat down in the available chair. Harry said, "Pardon me, your majesty, but do you normally deal with inheritances?"

King Ragnok said, "Not normally no, but when it pertains to two ancient and noble houses and the boy-who-vanquished, I must make procedure is being followed to the letter."

Harry hated that title. He commented, "I see. I thank you for being diligent, your highness."

King Ragnok smiled. He always like Mr. Potter. He never came off as arrogant and condescending. It was why he was so willing to forgive the break-in to their bank 8 years ago especially after he heard the reason behind it. "What you must do, Mr. Potter, is prick your finger like before and let four drops fall onto this paper. This paper is slightly different than the one before. This one will show what houses you are able to claim headship of."

Harry nodded. He did as was told. Words soon formed:

Harry James Potter

Born: July 31, 1980

Wife: Ginerva Potter Nee Weasley

Children: James Sirius

Headships to claim:

Potter

Black

King Ragnok nodded and withdrew two boxes. He said, "These are the head of house rings. You put them on your right ring finger."

Harry sighed. He slipped them on.

King Ragnok continued, "Congratulations Lord Potter-Black. Here is a list of your properties. Along with the financial statements and investments. Now that you have come into your inheritance you will receive a summons to the Winzengamont along with the House of Lords."

Harry was stunned. He looked at the papers and nearly feinted at the figures. Ginny and him didn't have to work for the rest of their lives if they didn't want to and then some. Harry said, "Thank you, your majesty. However, with being head of two families, will I need two sons to separate the two again?"

King Ragnok said, "It is advisable. If you only have one son and if you have a second child that is a girl with no more children, the girl can become Lady Black and continue that way."

Harry said, "Thank you, your highness. I have recently learned that I have a second child on the way with my wife, Ginevra."

King Ragnok said, "Congratulations, my lord on the upcoming arrival of your newest addition."

Harry smiled his thanks. He said, "I must excuse myself, your highness. May your enemies fall at your feet."

King Ragnok laughed. He said, "May your coffers overflow, Lord Potter."

Harry went to the Leaky and went back home via the floo. Ginny was waiting for him.

She followed him to the study that he had fashioned for himself. After Harry sat down with the folders, she sat down in her spot across from him. She waited.

Harry said, "Ginny, I am astounded at what I have learned."

Ginny said, "What is it? How bad is it?"

Harry said, "Not bad, honey. Or should I say Lady Potter-Black."

Ginny feinted. Harry quickly woke her back up. Ginny said, "What does this mean?"

Harry said, "Just put it this way, you nor I would have to work for the rest of our lives ever again, and our children would still be set for life." Winky popped in with glasses of water for both of them. "Thank you, Winky. I need you to locate some more elves. I have several properties that will be needing to be looked after. We might also be moving away from here."

Winky said, "I will do that immediately, my lord. Congratulations also, master."

Ginny shook her head. She never did understand the relationship between Harry and their two house-elves.

Harry opened the property folder and nearly feinted himself. He said, "The Potters had a manor."

Ginny was shocked also. She took a big gulp of water. Harry looked at the address. It was in Wales.

Harry said, "I'm taking another outing."

Ginny stood up. She said, "James and I will go with you."

Harry shook her head. He said, "I need to do this on my own."

Ginny nodded.

Harry stepped out into the backyard that had been designated as the apparition point, and apparated to the address.

Before him stood the gate. The gate had a hole in the shape of his ring. He pressed his ring into the hole, and the gate opened. Harry took a deep breath, and stepped through the gate. As the gate closed, Harry gasped. Before him stood a stately manor house built in white stone, three stories high.

He walked across the grounds and to the front door. Just as he was bout to turn the handle, the door opened to reveal an elderly house-elf. Harry stared and the elf stared back. Then the elf's eyes widened.

"Master Harry! You is home!"

The elf hugged Harry's legs. Harry knelt down to the level of the elf and said, "What your name be?"

"I be Sally. I am head-elf. Unfortunately only elf here now. All other elves left to find another bond to survive."

Harry said, "Well, I'm glad you stayed, Sally. Let's renew our bond, shall we?"

Sally said, "I'm not able to rebond. I go soon."

Harry said, "I'm sorry, Sally."

Sally said, "I live long time. Go home to my mate and son."

Harry said, "May I ask your son's name?"

"Dobby. He left to elf enclave to find a bond. Never heard from again. I felt a few years ago, his magic leave. I know he's no longer of this world."

Harry's heart sank. Harry said, "Sally, I knew Dobby. He saved my life at the sacrifice of his own."

Sally's eyes teared up.

Harry continued, "How about you give me a tour?"

Sally nodded. They stood up and they took a tour of the manor. There were many portraits of his ancestors. Many greeted him as they walked by. The last room they came to was a big ornate door.

Sally said, "This be the library, Master Harry. Many portraits here."

Harry said, "Did my mother and father ever make a portrait, Sally?"

Sally glanced at the door and said nothing.

Harry opened the door, and entered. The door closed behind him.

"Who be you, sonny?"

Harry turned and saw an older version of himself, but knew it wasn't his father. Must have been one of his grandfathers. Harry swallowed and said, "My name is Harry James Potter. Son of Lily and James."

The man stared. He yelled, "James, get your arse out here!"

From another portrait, "What do you want, father! I was playing in the Quidditch portrait!"

"You forgot to mention your son!"

"Son? Harry is here?"

"Of course you doofus!"

"Harry, I'm over here."

Harry turned and saw a man just like the photos that Harry had of him. "Dad…."

Beside him stood a woman who had Harry's green eyes, but she was unmoving.

"Harry..How old are you?"

"Turned 25 four days ago."

James said, "So you came into your inheritance then. I put it in my will that you would not get it until you were 25. No wife?"

Harry said, "I'm married with a son and another child on the way."

James said, "Why aren't they with you?"

Harry rubbed the back of his head. "I wanted to make this trip alone. For one I didn't know what the state of the manor was. My son is only a year old. My wife is Ginevra Weasley. My son's name is James Sirius."

James laughed. He said, "I'm honored, son. As I am sure that Sirius is too."

Harry hung his head. He said, "I wouldn't know. Sirius was killed in my fifth year due to my own stupidity."

James said, "What do you mean?"

Harry spent the rest of the afternoon recounting his life. By the time he was done, several portraits were angry.

His grandfather was spitting mad. He said, "How dare they! The Black's may have a bad reputation, but that is no reason to do what they did! The fact that you grew up with those muggles…."

James said, "Father, enough. I'm sure Albus had good reason to put Harry there and these blood wards seemed to do the job."
