Massie Part 1
Massie Block didn't take moving to London at the end of eighth grade as easily as everyone thought she would. Sure, she ruled Crestwood Academy the same way (if not more firmly) than she had OCD—surrounded by her A-list group of girls and the hottest boys on her arm for all four years—but nothing felt the same as it did back in Westchester. As soon as she finished her A-levels (early, I might add) at seventeen, she moved back to the United States to attend NYU. Not only was New York City less than an hour from her old stomping grounds, but NYU's Stern School of Business was also one of the best in the country.
To no one's surprise, Massie became the millennial influencer of the mid-2010s when her daily blogs chronicling her college life blew up. What surprised everyone, though, was when Massie decided to join a sorority during her sophomore year. People who knew her couldn't believe she was letting other people tell her what to do. But she saw her sorority, Kappa Beta Mu, as 100 former alphas, so she had no trouble fitting in—and swiftly took over as President for her Junior and Senior years.
After graduating with an undergraduate degree in business, Massie attended Parsons to properly launch her lifestyle brand, Massikur, without being labeled as a "nepo baby."
As for her friends, even though they were scattered across the country for college, they still managed to connect every spring, summer, and winter break. Alicia ended up at Syracuse, studying journalism at the New School, just as everyone had predicted. When she landed a job reporting for NBC right after graduation, the Rivera and Block families bought Massie and Alicia a penthouse in the city so they could finally be roommates, something they never had the chance to be in college.
As for Massie's love life, if you knew her, you weren't surprised by the men she aligned herself with over the years. Freshman year, she had an on-and-off fling with Lucky Blue Smith (pre-babies), and then spent the summer of her sophomore year with one of her father's business partner's sons while abroad. He was so boring that she couldn't even remember his name, though they were considered the "it couple" of London's social scene. Sometimes, she'd still get tagged in TikTok edits of them together.
Her current boyfriend, however, was a shock to everyone except Alicia. Alicia knew that Massie had crushed on him since seventh grade and had even let her cry in her bed for an entire weekend when he asked one of their friends out and was instantly considered "off-limits." How they met seemed unusual, too.
No, not Derrington, her on-and-off middle school fling. Derick Harrington and Massie were more like brother and sister now, especially after their massive public fight at Kori Gedman's New Year's Eve party when she showed up as Cam Fisher's date in junior year.
Massie wasn't as close with the Briarwood boys after returning to the States for college. Yes, they summered together and took spring break trips, and yes, she knew Cameron Fisher also attended NYU. But she did not expect to see his signature blue-green eyes at a Tau Sigma Xi mixer that September, the same day she was sworn in as Kappa's President.
The Kappa girls had just officially crowned her "Madam President," so she was walking around the mixer in a men's dress shirt, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot in hand, and a "Madam President" sash instead of a tie when she bumped into someone. She was about to tell whatever idiot it was that she had $500 champagne in her hand when she heard someone softly say her name.
"Mass?"
She may have been tipsy, but she immediately whipped her head up, recognizing the voice. "Cam?"
"What are you doing here?"
"You know I go to NYU, Cameron," she rolled her eyes, assuming he was tipsy and had forgotten.
"No, smartass, what are you doing at the Kappa mixer?"
"I'm their new president. Since when are you in a fraternity? I feel like Leesh would've mentioned it on one of our weekly FaceTimes. She knows everything, and Derrick tells her everything said to him since they started dating," Massie said, taking a sip of her drink.
Cam laughed. Alicia and his best friend dating was something no one had ever seen coming, but they'd become friendly faces for each other at Syracuse. He was just surprised that Massie hadn't reacted negatively to it.
"I joined this semester so that Harrington would shut up," Cam said between sips of his beer. He might've been tipsy, but it felt like some of his new fraternity brothers were starting to stare as they passed by, wondering how he knew her.
He continued, finishing his drink. "Derrick joined his freshman year after getting cut from Brown's soccer team, and he's been begging the rest of us to join so we could be 'super brothers.'"
The brunette laughed. "That makes absolutely no sense, but in Harrington's head, I know that it does."
"Anyways, between then and now, the rest of the guys have joined at their schools, and I got tired of them talking about 'brother stuff' I didn't understand." He nodded to one of his brothers who walked by, doing a double-take when he saw him talking with Massie. "I'm pretty sure they didn't make me do most of the hazing stuff because Harris was president last year."
And that was it. The two spent the rest of the party catching up, discovering they had more in common since their last deep conversation that probably happened back in middle school. As fall went on, they became friendly faces at parties, which turned into flirty conversations, and before long, they were each other's dates to their respective fall formals.
After Sigma's formal in Vermont, Cam asked Massie to officially be his girlfriend with a bouquet of her favorite flowers and a bottle of the Veuve that had brought them back together.
How Derrick missed her hard-launch photo at the formal on Instagram was beyond her.

A/N: Ever since Ellen and Lisi announced their relaunch of the series, I always wondered what the girls would be doing in present day. This is only half of Massie's story and I have the updates for everyone else written. Unsure if I want to make it into a series of them in 2025 after I post a chapter of what they've been doing from essentially 2010 until now or not.
