Opening Scene: Family Flashback

It's a cozy evening in the Read household, and Arthur, D.W., and Kate are curled up on the couch, flipping through an old family album.

Arthur grins as he turns the page, revealing a picture of their mom, Jane, with a very large belly.

D.W. (pointing at the photo): "Mom! You look huge!"

Arthur (chuckling): "Yeah! How far along were you here?"

Jane, who is sitting beside them, smiles warmly.

Jane: "Oh, I must've been about eight months pregnant with you, Arthur. And let me tell you… it was quite an experience!"

Arthur and D.W. lean in curiously.

Arthur: "What do you mean?"

Jane smirks, shaking her head.

Jane: "Well… let's just say you were already making your personality known before you were even born."

The screen fades into a flashback…

Flashback: Jane's Pregnancy Begins

We see Jane and David Read in their younger years, looking just as they do in old photos.

Jane, in her first trimester, has a small but growing baby bump beneath her comfortable maternity dress.

She's already experiencing mood swings.

Mood Swings Like Baby Arthur

One moment, she's laughing hysterically at one of David's jokes.

Jane (laughing): "Hahaha! Oh, David, that was so funny!"

Then, in an instant, she's frowning.

Jane (pouting): "Wait… was that even funny?"

David blinks, confused.

David: "Uh… I thought so?"

Jane crosses her arms.

Jane (annoyed): "Hmph! Well, now it's not!"

David gulps.

David (thinking): "Oh boy… I think I already know what kind of kid we're gonna have."

Cravings That Predict Arthur's Tastes

As Jane's pregnancy progresses, so does her appetite.

She gets cravings for things that Arthur would one day love.

Peanut butter sandwiches: Jane insists on eating them every day.

Bionic Bunny cereal: Despite it being a kids' cereal, she craves it nonstop.

Cake: Jane demands David bake a cake in the middle of the night.

One day, David finds her eating all three at once.

David (staring): "Jane… are you eating peanut butter on your cake?"

Jane (defensively, mouth full): "And it's delicious!"

David slowly backs away.

David (thinking): "Yep. Arthur is definitely going to love food."

The Belly Gets Bigger & The Stubborn Belly Button

By the time Jane reaches six months pregnant, her baby bump is very noticeable.

By seven months, she has to sit down more often and occasionally holds her belly when she walks.

By eight months, Jane's belly is large, round, and firm. Her maternity shirt struggles to cover everything, leaving a small gap between her shirt and pants.

And right at the center of that gap—her belly button has popped out.

One day, Jane looks down and notices it.

Jane (raising an eyebrow): "Oh great. Now my belly button's sticking out."

She pokes it curiously, and it jiggles slightly, making a small "boing" noise.

Jane (sighing, hands on her belly): "At this point, I feel like I am a balloon."

David laughs as he walks in.

David: "Well, you do have a very important passenger in there."

Jane grins, shaking her belly lightly—causing it to jiggle.

Jane (smirking): "Yeah, and he better be paying rent."

A Playful Moment: 'This Little Aardvark'

One night, Jane and David are relaxing in bed.

Jane is lying down, feet propped up on pillows, exhausted from carrying around her big baby bump.

Her belly rises and falls with every breath, still slightly jiggling from earlier movements.

Jane: "David… my feet ache."

David smiles warmly.

David: "Well then, how about King David treats his queen to a royal foot massage?"

Jane giggles.

Jane: "That sounds wonderful."

David takes Jane's right foot in his hands and gently begins massaging it.

Jane sighs in relief.

Jane: "Mmm… that's perfect."

But then—David smirks mischievously.

David: "Y'know… I wonder if Arthur is ticklish…"

Before Jane can react, David trails a single finger up her sole.

Jane jerks.

Jane (giggling): "David! Haha—don't you dare!"

David grins.

David: "Oh, I dare."

He softly tickles her arch, making her giggle uncontrollably.

Jane (laughing): "David! Stop! Haha—my belly—"

Her large belly jiggles wildly as she laughs, her popped-out belly button bouncing slightly.

David notices and chuckles.

David: "Whoa, look at that thing go!"

Jane gasps between giggles.

Jane: "D-David! It—it's shaking so much—!"

David gently presses on her belly, feeling the jiggling motion.

David (grinning): "Arthur sure is bouncy in there!"

Then—he wiggles her toes playfully.

David: "This little aardvark went to the library…"

Jane squeals, trying to kick.

Jane: "David—haha—nooo!"

Her belly wobbles again as she shakes with laughter.

David (laughing): "Aaaand this little aardvark went wee-wee-wee, all the way to bed!"

As he wiggles her last toe, Jane throws her head back, giggling helplessly.

Her belly shakes even more, making another soft "boing" noise.

Jane (laughing breathlessly): "You—you are so in trouble!"

David grins, rubbing her belly one last time.

The Water Breaks & Arthur is Born!

The next day, Jane is walking through the kitchen when she suddenly gasps.

She grabs her belly.

Jane: "David…?"

David looks over.

David: "Yeah?"

Jane: "My water just broke."

David freezes.

Then—PANIC MODE.

David: "HOSPITAL! NOW!"

Cut to: Arthur's birth!

As Jane cradles newborn Arthur, he waves his tiny fist and frowns.

David and Jane exchange glances.

David: "Oh boy. He's already got opinions."

They laugh, embracing their new adventure as parents.

Back to Present Day

D.W.: "Mom, did you have pregnancy cravings with me too?"

Jane smirks.

Jane: "Oh, D.W.… you were a whole different story."

Cue D.W.'s shocked face as the screen fades to black.

The End!
