Carlisle smiled as he and Esme cuddled in the living room of their house. Edward had taken Bella home, and was staying the night. Emmett and Rosalie were up in their room and Alice and Jasper were out hunting. After the chaos and fighting of the last week, and worrying about keeping their family safe and intact, they were taking the opportunity to reconnect as the lovers they were. Carlisle gently made his way down Esme's neck with kisses and slipped her sweater off, leaving her in a simple camisole. Esme giggled and gently guided his lips back to hers.
"We are in the living room my love" Esme said softly
"And none of our children are anywhere near us" Carlisle replied
"And at least two of them could come home any moment, so maybe we should take this somewhere else."
Carlisle had just started to kiss her neck again when they heard the front door open and shut and heard Alice's excited chatter. Carlisle let out a little whine as he pressed his face into Esme's neck.
"Next chance we get, we go to the island" Carlisle said softly "Just you, me and the quiet"
Esme laughed as she saw Alice and Jasper walk past the living room door. Jasper stopped walking and looked at Esme with a crooked brow.
"Esme, are you ok?" Jasper asked softly "Did the newborns bite you?"
"I'm fine Jasper. These bites are old, although not often on display" Esme said as she pointedly looked at Carlisle
"I never knew you were involved in fights."
"I wasn't."
"Jasper" Alice said softly "Stop asking questions before you don't like the answers."
"Oh…OH…" Jasper sputtered before quickly running up to their room.
Alice rolled her eyes as she followed him at a slower pace.
"I tried to get him to go upstairs without looking at them," Alice sighed. "Why does no one listen to me if it's not life and death."
Esme giggled as she finally managed to detach Carlisle from her neck and started pulling him upstairs to their room. They may not be her actual children, or children at all but Esme had no intention of accidentally traumatizing the younger members of the family. Carlisle followed her willingly for a few steps before picking her up and running to their room, locking the door behind them for good measure.
